I was told that too Ellie, only use sacks for dirty nappies or if we're out and can't get to a bin.

oooggs · 05/06/2007 21:44

ds1 (3.5) has just gone into size 6 - he is still in nappies at night

liath · 05/06/2007 21:47

Sainsburys sell biodegradable nappy sacks.

I use moltex disposibles. Dd is in a disposible at night as she sleeps for 13 hours and I worry that she'd get nappy rash in a cloth nappy.

Bramshott · 05/06/2007 21:51

Thanks Ange/Ellie, thats reassuring. O is v good at night - feeds at 10.30 then something around 5-6ish (and once 7.30)

We are using Moltex disposables at the mo which have been surprisingly good and are pretty environmentally friendly I think (have even tried composting one). Will be getting our Cotton Bottoms out of the loft this w/e though as they are from 11lb and I am too intrinsically stingy to carry on using disposables!

Bramshott · 05/06/2007 21:52

Snap Liath! I have been impressed by the Moltex and will carry on using them at night.

liath · 05/06/2007 21:54

They are good nappies, aren't they? Smell better than pampers too.

I need to get out more....

weeonion · 05/06/2007 22:00

re nappy chat - we are using a combination of reusables - everything form pre-folds, totsbots, motherease and sandys but - the washing / drying is a bloody nightmare. it was ok when dp was on paternity as he was up / down the stairs to the line but i cant be arsed to haul her into the baby carier to get a load of washing down to the line. just got given another 12 diddy diapers so that eases the pressure somewhat.

EllieK · 05/06/2007 22:01

oooggs

Matthew has been in size 6 for at least 18mths and is still in them at night (he's 4 in September), have now switched to huggies as they are slightly bigger, they didn't do a size 6 when he went into it, it was that long ago

oh liath - you were asking about gmm. she is grand - doing great and has been out and about. she was there for the scottish meet up last week - looking fab and charlie is a darlin.....

EllieK · 05/06/2007 22:03

i know that problem WO, i have no clean clothes as traipsing to the line with basket under one arm, Joe under the other, with blanket on my head for laying him on, has become too annoying

OP posts:
weeonion · 05/06/2007 22:05

lol at the idea of blanket on your head....

i am goign through pjs like no-ones business due to madam puking, pooing and peeingon me through the night. also - have to get more nursing bras for the mama mammaries.......

liath · 05/06/2007 22:07

Could you use a clothes rack inside WO? I have a small one next to a radiator and the nappies usually dry overnight.

weeonion · 05/06/2007 22:10

liath - we have 4 clothes racks and 2 over the radiator. maybe we are generating alot of washing for 3 of us????!!
i will email you when i know what day i am through in edinburgh next week - maybe meet up for coffee??

EllieK · 05/06/2007 22:10

i've given up with pj's, i'm just in shortie pants and sleep nursing bras

OP posts:
WestCountryLass · 05/06/2007 22:13

I use biodegradable sandwich bags from Sainsburys instead of nappy bags.

I am surprised Asda, Morrisons and Tescos don't sell the nappies. I have to make a special trip to get them but the last time I went to Waitrose it was 3 for 2 so I stocked up.

weeonion · 05/06/2007 22:13

to be honest ellie - some days i dotn even bother putting a bra on - the norks are out so often with feeding pumping that i dont see the point! thank god teh neighbours cant see in but theres a mad dash when the postie calls!

liath · 05/06/2007 22:15

Knickers and nursing bra here too. Motherhood is sooo glamorous, NOT. No wonder DH has decamped to the spare room.

Washing machine on constantly, place festooned with nappies and baby gros. Me grimly tring to keep up with the ironing - does ds care if his sleepsuits are ironed? I think not. Am clearly deranged.

WestCountryLass · 05/06/2007 22:17

Ellie and co, could you try these:

www.drynites.com/uk/drynites-information/default.aspx

You can get a size 4-7yrs and 8yrs+ ;)

liath · 05/06/2007 22:19

I scared off a door to door salesman the other day - answered the door with my feeding top gaping open. He legged it!!!

WO, coffee sounds grand.

weeonion · 05/06/2007 22:22

ironing???????????????????? i havent put my hand on one since long before i got pg. as i type dp is ironing his work shirts! i must go - the milk monster is stirring and i must obey the boob...........

EllieK · 05/06/2007 22:22

i scared my postie off, he's been the postie since i was a pre-schooler, i answered the door holding Joe attached to my norks, he scarpered pretty damn quick

thanks WCL I have tried those, but at almost £5 for 10 they are way too expensive for using every night

hi babes

Just quickly popping in, not caught up properly, skimmed through and just have to say Katy how awful having a car accident!!!!!! You poor love. Oh and little baby T!!! Oh honey, I was really shocked to read that and I hope you're feeling better now. I expect (hope) you are and I'm over reacting because I've not been around much for a day or two (why is it on mn you can miss a day and feel like you've been away a fortnight??????)

Also good to see KHIN, was hoping you were ok xx

Well the mastitis has not been quite as horrific as last time, i think because my sister isn't here wanting to do lots of things and I've been able to rest more. Still pretty painful, but I'm coping. Looking forward to the day I don't have to wander round the house with my boob out trying to get my nipple to heal!!! !!! Thanks for all your concern, it's much appreciated. xx

EllieK · 05/06/2007 22:33

hey eca

was thinking, do you fancy a visitor next week? I don't have M and i'm trying to find things to do to stop me noticing

OP posts:
eca · 05/06/2007 22:34
