Kayzed- can I be cheeky and ask if you can help me? I want to create thank you postcards for dd?s presents. On my pc we have a facility to create cards, postcards etc but I don?t like the designs. My plan was to upload her picture onto a frame and then take it to asda and get them printed off as pictures. Ive searched the net and bonusprint etc do them but theyre 30p a picture which works out steep. Don?t suppose you know where I can just get some templates to do it myself?

Bloss- how do you manage with 5am wakings. DS has been doing this now for a week. It?s a killer. What time does toby go down for his 1st nap and how long?

I always have a glass of water and 2 paracetomols by the bed ready to take when I get in after a night out. Seems to help the hangover.
I always spend a fortune in Next and its even worse now with lo?s as their kids clothes are soo cute. In fact DD has a better wardrobe than me. Dh is the same re mumsnet- goes bonkers when I post pictures just in case you all trace us down!!

Hope this works, im trying to find a new online photo album.

Maewest- Glad your interview went well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Impy- Ds still wakes once for milk too.

re that boy KZ! God it really makes you wonder doesn't it....I used BonusPrint for Harry's B'Day cards, it wasn't the cheapest I spose, but very convenient, and I wasn't on a budget in those days. Sigh.

H touched the hob yesterday while we made pancakes (don't touch the hob Harry don't touch the hob Harry, don't touch the hob Harry) and burnt his fingers and spot boy (will post a pic later the poor thing) headbutted the edge of the radiator, so now he looks like a boxer with very bad acne. not a good look.

KBaby - I don't know how I cope to be honest with the 5am starts, just seem to. i do get a break in the middle of the day, when H has a two hour sleep and Toby has a bit of a sleep then a play, but I don't sleep then. I have to go to bed at 10pm simple as that. Toby goes back to sleep at 9am for at least an hour, ususally an hour and a half. It is hard to say who starts the early wakings, if it's not T it's H, both as bad as each other. Stops me tackling the problem really as I don't know who to tackle it with!!

Toby is crawling everywhere, so independent. Have to watch it when I open doors in case his fingers are underneath it etc. The opportunity for injury has increased ten fold, I'm a bag of nerves!! We LEAPT up to him this morning after ignoring his whinging for a bit, cos we heard an almighty CRASh and thought he'd climbed out of his cot, but he'd just fallen back agaisnt the far side of it. DH immediately got the screwdriver and lowered the bottom of his cot. Anyone else with more than one, aren't the milestones moving so fast with your second/third etc? Everything seemed so much slower to happen with harry, can't beleive we've got their first birthdays soon, seems like we only just had H's!!

I don't even tell Dh I post pictures! He'd be exactly the same as your DH Kbabes, positive that we'd be traced down for some imaginary reason. Men are so paranoid.......

Right, gosh look at the time, 7.21, must start breakfast, only been up for 2 hours after all made the mistake of turning the radio on for a bit of Chris Moyles, and his show hadn't even started!!!!

Have great days all.
Bloss

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 05/06/2007 12:28

Hi ladies,

LOL at you LOL at me working!!! I'm actually busy again today, having a rushed lunch just now, and then back to it. It makes the day go a bit faster anyway!

Now Kayley DEFinitely said quack quack last night, when she saw one in DS's book.
She's very crotchety at the mo, lots more teeth coming through, and I think she's also frustrated that she can't walk like DS can, cos when I put her down, she sticks the legs down and holds on tight, and just takes off, hand in hand with me. Gets very upset then when I sit her down. Bless her, she just wants her brother all the time, even at 6am.

DH is also the same as yours, Bloss and kbaby, ye're all axe-murderers!!!!

HC Ducklings!!! SOooooooo Cuuuuuute!!!

Have a good day

Darned mozzies...

Annie

usandnosleep · 05/06/2007 14:20

Hello again

Sorry for not being on much lately, I have cut down the amount of time I spend on the net in the evenings drastically. Good for my relationship but makes it hard to keep up with you all.

I'm still with those of you having rough nights, Zack usually wakes around 11.30 and 3.30. Although we are having the odd good night thrown in, slept 9.15-4 last night then went back down until 7.15.
I know some of you have it worse though Sending sleepy vibes to all those babies.

Zack is now eating well and usually has what we're eating chopped or mashed, certainly makes life easier.

I'm so grateful that I've met such lovely people since having the Z, we now meet up 2-3 times a week.
They really lift the spirits, as do you ladies, having children really brings different types of people together.

I'm not so worried about Cystic Fibrosis, I have done some reading and although Zack does have some symptoms they could also indicate other problems such as allergies, asthma among others. I probably shouldn't say that but you have to stay positive don't you?

Walking hasn't progressed beyond a couple of steps and still no words besides "mama". He has started clapping this week though so I'm looking forward to Monkey Music on Thursday!
Zack's favourite game is peek-a-boo, hiding behind the curtains, books and his hands- so so cute

Thanks for your thoughts re bresatfeeding, I think I'm going to stop at the end of July, just past his first birthday (and when we return from holiday!).
It will be sad but I think its best for me and him, getting him to sleep is going to be an issue though . Have to do it sometime though.

Better be off I need to tidy before another friend arrives with her baby.

xx

jacobandlysette · 05/06/2007 15:01

hi us - jacob really enjoys monkey music -i bet zack does too?

just a quick one - jacob has started moving himself from sitting down forwards to crawling (has been doing this bit for a while) and then once he's had a bit of time o nthe floor shuffling around, he moves himself almost back up into a sitting position. he's trying to pull up on things as well now so maybe he'll bypass crawling forwards altogether? he too is getting very frustrated when he can't get to something, and flails his little arms and legs around in a mini tantrum!

Ceebee74 · 05/06/2007 15:14

Hi all - sorry not been on for a while - DH keeps hogging the computer room when he is working from home - how selfish is that??

Just a quicky whilst DH makes a brew...have just had my hair cut for the first time in 4 months and it looks fab! It is the best blow-dry I have ever had - I usually diffuse it as it is naturally curly but she has sone it straight but with some bounce - I just wish could do it myself like this.

Everything is great in Joshworld - he is becoming so mobile now...he can go from crawling to sitting to kneeling to standing (holding on) and back again so easily now - plus we now have occasional bouts of normal crawling rather than the usual 'pull and drag' technique he has used for the last 4 months!! Also, he now has 3 teeth and it looks like others are coming through soon.

(Bloss - thanks for your comment on my other thread - guess we just need to bite the bullet and hope for the best)

Ceebee74 · 05/06/2007 15:14

Impy and Kbaby - gorgeous gorgeous piccies

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 05/06/2007 15:42

Hi Girls,
Just having a break from embryo aligning for a few minute. Google-eyed and back-aching.
Anyway, it's only once in a blue moon...

Ceebee, Josh sounds fab! It's so funny with two, honestly, the amount of times I've heard squeals of delight as they chase each other behind the curtains or down the hallway. Sleep? who needs it!

Lysette, LOL at Jacob's mini tantrum!! He'll soon be getting around at top speed.

Hi US, good to hear from you, and glad things are improving even more with DH.
Also on the Hardly Any Sleep list here, Kayley still wakes usually twice for milk. Tried weaning her onto water at night a few weeks back, but she sussed it and screamed even more. Then she'd drink around 4 or 5 oz so she must have been hungry. She's also taken to waking at 6am, so treats us to early mornings as well as broken nights.
It's just something you get used to.
Either DH or me get up at 6am and lets the other lie in til DS wakes. Sometimes, 6.15, sometimes 6.45...

Right best go again and check on those embryos.

Annie

jacobandlysette · 05/06/2007 16:44

thank goodness we are not the only ones waking for milk - all anyone says is "isn't he sleeping through yet? HOW old is he???" he is generally waking at about 1.30 now and then 5.30-600 and i give him enough milk at the morning one to get him happy enough to get himself back to sleep for an hour or so

quite often with the first waking it's because he's on his front, wakes up and then tries to turn himself back over and gets really awake in the process and then thinks "oooh food would be good now" - he's his mother's son allright!!!

Dh went to Maze last night with clients - 13 tasting courses later he rolled home stinking of booze! and has work drinks tonight again, so i'm treating myself to more sushi no booze still though and being good during the week!

OP posts:
prettymum · 05/06/2007 17:30

junior still wakes up 1 -2 times a night aswell. dp would let junior stay up and play at 6am if he had the chance! but i put junior back in his cot and let him cry to sleep(which lasts about 5mins)and the last 2 morning he has slept through till 9am!

he is also strarting to throw mini tantrums aswell! if the front door is open he crawls so fast towards it and when we shut it, he tries throwing himself backwards along with screaming like a banshee!!

cooking dinner, better check chicken before it burns!

MaeWest · 05/06/2007 18:26

Evening all, nice to hear from you usandnosleep, the cheek of you going off and getting RL friends . Sounds like Zack is doing really well. Know what you mean about breastfeeding/sleep tho... haven't really tackled that one myself yet.

Well, my big news is that I've been offered the job! 2 days a week, starting beginning of July. I currently sweating at the thought of finding childcare, but have been in touch with a few minders already. Part of me thinks I must be crazy, it's half the salary of the job I could have gone back to and I seem to be existing on limited sleep, but heyho. Bit scared but mostly excited . Will be lovely to have some adult conversation.

DS is motoring with the crawling, can sit up by himself, starting to pull himself up but can't quite manage it. He is into EVERYTHING. The toybox is neglected in favour of bits of fluff, power cables, the DVD player etc. He's getting more difficult to get to sleep in the evening. He is obviously tired but doesn't always drop off on the boob anymore, so I put him down in his cots and he immediately gets up and start crawling around. The other evening I found him sitting up in the corner of the cot crying because he was dropping off to sleep and waking himself up everytime he started to keel over. I lay him down and you would have thought I was murdering him, just struggled to get up again

HumphreysCorner · 05/06/2007 18:44

CONGRATULATIONS Maewest
Well done girl! You will be fine.

Ceebee-go for it. 'Tis fun most of the time with 2 even though Em was hard work from the moment of conception.

Sophie passed her 1 year check up with flying colours. She is now 18 lb 3 oz and 71 cm long. Her spots are molloscum something or other which is quite common. They are picked up in swimming pools and can reappear for several years and there is no treatment for them.

Meant to say I have yet another AF so that is one every week now. HV said that wasn't right and to see a Dr. Am now worried there is something wrong with me.

Hi to everyone.

xxx

TheGoddessBlossom · 05/06/2007 18:59

Maewest, WELL DONE so proud of you [beam], bloody marvellous.

Hi HC, don't worry pet. I haven't even had AF yet since having Toby, cycles can take ages to settle down.

CeeBee you are welcome honey, and agree with Annie, having two is just brilliant, mine are now playing together, and we have had a great day today in the sunshine. We went to the playground in the forest today (which is fantastic, huge wooden combine harvester, swings, hanging things, slides honestly KZ, Chili would ruddy love it, come and see me?) and had a picnic, then when H refused his nap I set up loads of paper and paints in the back garden and he did feet and hand painting, and ran around with just his pants on covered in red paint for the rest of the day, he was like a red indian. Toby just sits and laughs and eats daisys and crawls after him and stops and eats buttercups and laughs etc....

Sitting next to a maHOOsive G&T, CHEERS everyone, here's to Maewest's job and Lysettes sushi. Wonder what Pinkdolly is up to, mind you I was always surprised how she ever found time to post at all with the stuff she has going on, homeschooling etc.

Will check back online later.

KBaby great pics by the way. DD is going to be a bit of a heartbreaker!

Bloss

TheGoddessBlossom · 05/06/2007 19:01

would you look at that, didn't preview as usual and not one speeling mistook.......

ImpyChica · 05/06/2007 20:38

Thx for all the compliments laydeez - we all have beautiful bairns.

And thanks for the support on the sleep front too - relieved I'm not the only one struggling with it. We had a few 7pm-7am nights before DP went away but it's been belly up since then. I think Ry must have read my previous messages about whether I should leave him to go to India and is punishing me for even entertaining the idea....

Well done Maewest! Knew you'd do it! And don't worry about the sleep thing - you just somehow get on with it. I frequently roll up to work after four hours sleep and seem to manage. Kind of worried I'm turning into Margaret Thatcher on the not-needing-much-sleep front - I used to have to have ten hours or I couldn't function. (Having said that, my voice has deepened and I have started befriending Latin American dictators... hmm)

Go for it CB!!!! I know what you mean about having a nightmare second baby. I might moan about Ryan's sleeping habits but he's generally adorable. But having read your other thread and hearing lovely baby = horrid toddler, I'm getting scared....

Poor HC {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}} I guess your hormones are a bit out of whack. Are you looking after yourself? Stress doesn't help... It's worth eating lots of seeds and nuts to help regulate your hormones - worked a treat for me when I had crazy pregnancy hormones and I've kept it up ever since. Well done on the job!

KZ - cripes at that little boy! I get panicky if Ry isn't always within sight!

Hope Harry's ok Bloss - poor old thing!

Thanks for the moral support Bead! Only five days to go until DP gets back!! Well done on Charlotte's feeding! I tried blw and it all got too messy and slow and Ryan is too lazy to feed himself! He gags at anything that isn't pureed.... Strange how she'll only take spoons at breakfast.... hmmm...

LOL at you and your mozzies Annie - such a great mental image! (do they get affected by the alcohol fumes ) [scurries off for being so cheeky]

HumphreysCorner · 05/06/2007 20:45

This is what Sophie has got www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=250

kbaby · 05/06/2007 20:50

Kayzed- Ive got mirosoft photo premium and adobe phooshop. Im looking for either a birthday frame ie cake or some type of balloons or something birthday or child like. I was going to print them on photo card so I could write a message on the back. Adobe do a nice card design but it prints out an inside design which I don?t need. Tbtw.

Anyone else lo not saying anything other than dada?

jacobandlysette · 05/06/2007 20:53

maewest well done!!!!! that's great news my dear.

ceebee come join us on the TTC thread [beckons furiously] - we could end up with 2 virtual twinnies

hc i agree with impy - nuts and seeds are great - i think brazil nuts are particularly high in selenium which is great for happiness and hormones - and you only need a few a day so it won't be too many WW points. and well done on the job as well - think i forgot to say that earlier!

anyone watching trinny and suzanna??? must be my post preggers hormones but it has me in floods of tears every time

whoever (sorry brain muddled with trinny and suzanna speak) said about ds sitting i nthe cot fighting sleep - i have had the same thing with jacob - we used to have him fall asleep in our arms and then put him down. a couple of weeks ago i started putting him in his cot for naps (awake) so he got used to being i nthere and falling asleep, and for the past 2 weeks we have gradually been getting better about just putting him down in his cot in the evening awake and "making" him fall asleep. it's gone from 10 mins of yelling and sometimes tears to less than a minute. and until last night i would put him down and have to go in 5 mins after as he would be crawling around in his cot wide awake - I'd do the pick up and put down routine and then he would generally go off - last night and the night before he's gone down straight away. i guess what i'm saying is it does take time but will come - and easier than you think

anyway, best be off, shirts to iron

see you all tomorrow
