no one to please but yourself and your wonderful boys

also a new man every week would be a bonus

Talking of driving, James now gives me directions, tells me off for going too fast {accelerating from toll bridge onto dual carriageway) and tells other drivers off for getting in our way. Who needs sat. nav.?

CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 22:28

Katherine shouts at the other cars & tells me to "get a move on!!"

ellenkpa · 14/05/2007 22:29

glad it's not just my son that thinks he knows best

tho he has at least stopped shouting 'for fucks sake' at other drivers

learnt from daddy i hasten to add

love her dippy

All three children now soundo - about time

bottles done

period started this afternoon - another reason why I feel down - bloody hormones

oooggs · 14/05/2007 22:31

was only thinking this morning on the way to preschool that it would be worth starting the GCSE syllabus now while he is such a 'sponge'.

Hire a three year old while they still know everything so many questions, some I can't even answer

ellenkpa · 14/05/2007 22:33

and they have this complete confidence that they are right, i actuually had to say to matthew earlier, "i am the grown-up, i have had lots of years to learn things so you are just gonna have to accept that i am right"

just trying to assess my rating on the slack-mother scale

do you cut grapes in half for your children or just give them whole?

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 22:41

LOL! Might try that line on my little madam tomorrow .....

oooggs · 14/05/2007 22:43

as if I have time to cut them!!!!

Jack up and screaming big time

CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 22:43

Give 'em whole, hell yes .....

ellenkpa · 14/05/2007 22:43

it was in response to something really daft like whether wearing trousers was necessary to go to nursery

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 22:44

RQuick, read to him from the Encyclopdeia Brittanica.......

ellenkpa · 14/05/2007 22:44

thank goodness for that

this thread was making me feel like an awful mother for leaving them whole

M went to bed at 8 and Joe had just fed and fallen asleep so i put him down in his moses basket (i'm usally too lazy and just keep cuddling him, tho partly cos i'm usually on MN when he falls asleep )

he is still asleep

ellenkpa · 14/05/2007 22:53

i need him to wake up now, my norks are full

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 23:03

Oooooh, how well I know that feeling - I'm currently leaking, but definitely not waking the cute sleeping child at the foot of my bed ..... enjoying the Peace & Quiet faaaaar too much!!

ellenkpa · 14/05/2007 23:07

that's what i decided, expressed some to give him when he finally wakes up instead

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 23:13

Excellent! hopefully that'll be tomorrow morning .... ....

ellenkpa · 14/05/2007 23:17

doubt that somehow, and my norks would explode by then

Morning - quick hello before my first proper school run!

Ernie up an extra two times last night so planning to go back to bed when have dropped off ds1 and 2.

More milk seems to have arrived due to the extra feeds so hoping all will settle down again - thrush seems better with the cream.

Hope you all have a good day

liath · 15/05/2007 09:15

Yuk, horrible night - ds really snuffy and snotty plus I seem to be drowning him in milk as he keeps coming off choking and spluttering. DH back to work tomorrow straight into a week of nightshifts (no uniform, though ) so might have to decamp off to my parents for the weekend.

I'll hold my hand up and confess to being utterly neurotic about grapes. One of our neighbours have friends who lost their toddler choking to death on one. Nearly had a fit when I found out dd's nursery weren't halving them and phoned the manager!!

Katy44 · 15/05/2007 09:25

Hi everyone,
think the next thread title has to mention exploding norks.
Think T occassionally gets upset cos my milk is a bit too fast - "what to expect" mentions nipple shields, anyone tried it?
T love MN - is mesmerised by the scrolling colours

octo · 15/05/2007 09:29

I had/have fast letdown and ernie gets flustered sometimes too - I have just stuck with it tbh

As for leaking/spraying milk when feeding and they come off I have developed a boob bib - simply tuck muslin into bra under boob and let it rest down onto your lap - even do it in public - better than dodgy wet patches on trousers due to dripping milk! God I am such a fashionista
