I add to mine if i haven't quite got enouh - as long as it is fairly soon, I',m sure it'll be fine!! Hope your day improves ......

Just going to go & check the post ..... It isn't a Bank Holiday this time, is it!!!?

maveta · 16/05/2007 11:20

Katy - can´t you keep it in the bottle that comes with the expresser? Mine detaches and has a screw top to close it. I checked up and you can keep adding to it but if you have 24 hours to use it, you have to count that from the time you expressed the first lot.

Katy44 · 16/05/2007 11:23

n1, should be in the next few hours.
CD thats what I'm using, but mine comes with a sort of cup with screw lid rather than bottle. OK, maybe next time I'll express without reading MN - that might have been part of the prob!
thanks for the advice xx

Katy44 · 16/05/2007 11:24

completely messed that up sorry!

CD, no bank hol is eek after next

CaptainDippy · 16/05/2007 11:27

Katy44 · 16/05/2007 11:32

Makes me want to hug T

Katy44 · 16/05/2007 11:33

thankis CD, will be in a better mood this afternoon

mammyjo · 16/05/2007 11:51

Hi Katy, hope your day starts to get a bit better. At least you managed to express, I havent even tried yet! What are the claire verity threads? Sorry if that is a really dim question.

SOKL, glad you had a better evening with K. F decided to have a few hours screaming the night before last and its awful when you can do nothing to stop it. I just wanted to watch telly in peace! At that time of day I am just not equipped to cope with it as am tired and grouchy myself!

Hi Pesha, glad you are home, hope you are much better soon. Sod the housework, my house is a bloody tip but I just dont seem to get around to doing anything at the moment.

octo · 16/05/2007 12:28

hello sleepless night v tired one hand etc

i read a bit of the sun article and was so shocked by what she said i posted on one of the threads - the bit that upsets me most is abpout cuddling baby - looks like i'm doomed then!

wet baby, wet trousers, demandin ds3 ......

bumble75 · 16/05/2007 12:39

Hi everyone and thank you for your lovely messages on the ante-natal thread - I left a post to "officially" turn out the lights!

I'm putting the photos of Lucy on the PC now so will email them later today.

Came home on Sat and settling in ok, still in pain after section but getting better every day, am still quite teary, is good going if I finish a sentence without crying - is madness because I am so happy despite the tiredness, etc. Lucy is wonderful and eating well, although my nips are in a state, just taking it one feed at a time....

Hope everyone is really well, sending you all big hugs and hoping to be back for chats very soon.

xxx

mammyjo · 16/05/2007 12:44

Welcome back bumble! Good to see you again. Congratulations too! Glad you are doing ok. The crying phase does come to an end eventually!!

WestCountryLass · 16/05/2007 13:22

Sorry for being AWOL, I am having internet problems. I keep losing my connection and it is taking ages to look at anything online when I have to keep refreshing and connecting

You would have thought this would be a non-issue as DH is an IT Consultant

Anyway, incredibly busy, don't sit down all day these days, not til the kids have gone to bed. What with the chores, the kids groups and playdates, i've not a minute but everything is going well and i'm not complaining. Leo is such a lovely soul

liath · 16/05/2007 14:13

Hi Bumble !

I was getting a bit concerned about the fast let down and ds choking & spluttering during feeds so it's nice to find out others have the same thing - this thread can be so reassuring sometimes when you have those "OMG is this normal?" moments.

Was gobsmacked at that thread with the Verity baby-guru woman too. I thought that sort of rubbish was from my granny's time. Felt really sad at the not cuddling babies stuff as well - cruel and bonkers IMHO.

SOKL, I'd go back to the docs if things don't settle, seems mad to expect you to wait 4 weeks - it's not as if infant gaviscon does any harm.

DH back at work tonight - 7 night shifts, yuk! It's been wonderful having him at home, we're both pretty apprehensive about the next 6 months as his rota is horrible and he has the biggest exams of his career in the autumn so what little free time he has will be spent studying . Will need to plan a weekend away or something to do after he's finished the exams.

Katy44 · 16/05/2007 14:24

hi everyone
well, bins sorted, T feeding happily, days getting better!

Pinions · 16/05/2007 14:25

ABOUT TO FALL OUT WITH MOTHER ALERT

Yes mother arrived yesterday to "help".

This mornings converation, as per me running 3 times a week and on a "diet".

ME - "Mum, so think I've lost some weight then?"

MUM - "Yes but I suggest you keep going".

Aaaaaaaaaaarrrgggggggh.......goes off in bad mood.

liath · 16/05/2007 14:27

Ooh - tactless or what!!

Mine p*ssed me off today too - was saying that I was worried about coping with doing nights on my own etc etc and she said "Oh, diddums. Poor you" in a really sarcastic voice - nearly hung up on her.

Glad today's improving Katy

Pinions · 16/05/2007 14:30

Mums don't do tact.

liath · 16/05/2007 14:35

Clearly not. Am now feeling overwhelmed with responsibility - musn't end up tactless like my mum or be a hideous MIL........

Pinions · 16/05/2007 15:24

Ditto.

Eddas · 16/05/2007 15:45

Pinions Sorry made me smile, no tact at all eh! Can't sympathise as my mum was a larger lady so wouldn't have said anything like that!

DD is poorly today, keeps asking for daddy Keep asking if i'll do but get no answer On the slightly plus side she's having a day off talking which is a little weird but very quiet Am trying to appreciate it coz i'm always getting annoyed with her constant jabbering! Hope she feels better soon.

Emmymummy · 16/05/2007 15:53

hello, have read all posts but forgotten almost everything....

SOKL - bugger about your GP. it really wouldn't have hurt to give you some gaviscon to try for K. can you go back but see a different doc?

Lesley - the window smashing was exactly what we had. little bastards have no respct for other people's property. my sympathies to you.

well hip still sore. Volterol not doing any good so went back to dr today and now have some different drugs to try, plus codeine (what apparently makes you constipated - oh joy). If the pain continues he suggested a cortizone injection might be in order. There's something to look forward to then.

On the plus side, managed the school run all on my own today - was very proud of myself - even managed to grab a shower beforehand. Am now happy to can be done!

Em's party on Monday was fun but total chaos. Took half of next day to get the house straight again. Dh says we're never doing a party at home again. I have to agree!

Sophie very unsettled today, feeding for 5 mins then falling asleep, then feeding for another 5, then asleep again, hard to latch on etc. etc. Simply not possible to get any kind of routine going at this point, sigh, it'll come.....

Sexonknackeredlegs · 16/05/2007 16:40

Hi ladies

Pinions and Liath, cannot get over your respective mums' comments. My mum can be a bit tactless at times too, but not that bad.

EM, cannot believe you had a party at your house for Em. How brave! We are going to a soft play place for B's party next weekend. Couldn't cope with anything else! Really hope your hip gets better one way or another - not what you need right now.

Eddas, sorry to hear your dd is off form.

I am totally and utterly exhausted. B is so incredibly demanding and I am finding her an utter pita as am too tired to deal with her constant demands and back-chat. K has been ok today - no signs of reflux today and currently sleeping. Long may it last!!

Don't know how you ladies cope wih dh/dp's on shifts etc. I am having a breakdown at the thought of dh not being home tonight and how I am going to juggle everything!

Hope everyone has had pleasant days. Might be back later depending on time!!
x

YvieE · 16/05/2007 17:13

Hi all & apologies in advance for the sp mistakes (currently 1 finger typing)
Eca - sounds painful hope you feel better soon.
Bramshott - S hates the bottle - have tried giving her EBM on numerous occassions and she licks the teat realises it not the nipple and chucks it out. Currently have tried tommee tippee and boots own brand bottle - would anyone recommend a particular brand?
LesleyR - it makes my blood boil that there are some human beings that have no regard for other people's property, some idiots on Sunday night decided it would be fun to eat chips, spit it out all over my car, put chips in all the vents oh yes and scratch the door with a key
SOKl - hope K is feeling better
CD - what kind of breast pump are you using? and 20 mins for expressing . i was on for 60 mins and got 4oz
Hi Pesha - glad to see you're out and hopefully feeling much better

maveta · 16/05/2007 17:29

Hi Yvie! I use the medela electric and it seems to work pretty well but I think it does seem to have more to do with individual breasts rather than the pump, I know for me one boob goes great guns and the other has really very little to show for itself I got 4 ozs after 10 mins this morning and about 20mins this p.m... I think CD has super boobs! I bought a NUK bottle/teat and he seemed to take it really well.. but he does take a dummy and the NUK teat is very similar to his dummies so I guess that helped.

Emmymummy - sorry you are still in pain, hope it sorts itself soon, must be awful x

at mothers´ comments! Mine has been known to come out with things like that, things like ´well you don´t need to lose weight but you could do with toning up a bit´ .. yeah THANKS for the definitely unsolicited opinion! I just completely blank mine when she does it.

I´m SO. BORED. Does anyone else find all this boring? Don´t get me wrong, he´s a lovely wee lad and a dream to look after but I still feel tied to the house with just enough time to get bored but not enough time to watch a movie or get into a book or even really get housework done. Am I alone??

Sexonknackeredlegs · 16/05/2007 17:33

Maveta, I love your honesty. I find this stage pretty boring tbh, altho this being number 2, I am at least getting out as I have to get out for B iyswim.

I find the constant feeding quite boring I have to admit and I am not having to get my norks out!
