Marmitemad - we went to the Oasis Whinfell Forest Center Parcs near Penrith - we have been about 6 times now and love it, although we are planning to go to Sherwood Forest next time or a change as we know our way around the other one too much! Our car boot (Renault Scenic) was packed to the rafters, but I do insist on taking plenty of food as DD is a fussy eater. Had to take two lots of clothes to cover warm and colder days! Had a fab time though!

T is grizzling in his swing next to me - I think he is tired, but we are getting him to fallasleep without cuddles, so I am ignoring him (bad mother!!).

He has a terrible sticky eye - has had two lots of drops which are having no effect, so will need to go to docs next week = he said they would swab it just to check - it irrates him a bit!

Of to clinic later to see if he is over the 14lb mark!!That is my guess as he has put weight on, even though he is not a big milk drinker - he managed a ull 5oz bottle at 10pm last night!!!!

peachygirl · 21/06/2007 12:04

Woo hoo I've just won a micralite, with accessories for £46 on ebay!!
Your poor DS andyrobo DD had a sticky eye early on, putting the drops in is awful isn't it??

DontCallMeYummy · 21/06/2007 12:52

Congrats Peachygirl! I was on eBay yesterday and won some cool Camper sandals for, er, myself. I was getting fed up of people announcing they'd got 'me' a present only for me to unwrap a 3-6 month babygro (which quite frankly I reckon I'd have trouble getting round my thighs). At the last count DCMMY has 67,099,051 items of clothing (not including socks) whilst I'm reduced to sponging babysick off the only pair of trousers that fits my post-pregnancy shrinking frame. So, new sandals for Mummy - hurrah. Are the rest of you managing to set aside some pennies (and time) for Mummy Treat Time? Does it even exist...?

Bienchen · 21/06/2007 12:59

Andyrobo - DS had a few eye infections in his younger days and getting drops is was hard work! His ear infections were worse. Hope the sticky eye clears up soon and does not spread to his other eye too!

Peachy - what a bargain!

DD has managed to roll over to her front for the first time this morning - and I missed it as I was clearing up in the kitchen. She screamed like mad having got herself in a different position but she was fine otherwise. Luckily I had left her in the floor on a sheepskin.

SBN - have placed my order.

forgottenfreetime · 21/06/2007 14:13

Mummy treat time - FFT has totally forgotten what that is. Unless you count scoffing entire Bournville chocolate bar whilst driving car to avoid DH's sarky comments about muffin tops after children! I never make it out of the house without one child or other! Makes me question why I'm even thinking about No.3 (still broody, must be mad).

And I like hearing other people talk re nappies SB - is next best thing to buing more myself. I am a big nappies thread lurker! Sorry to hear your dd is playing up. We have good days and bad here. I think I have become desensitised to some of ds behhaviurs. Today a good day so far - he has pushed her in the head whilst she was on our bed but also gave her her teddy! We have been trying a specially confusing mixture of zero tolerance discipline of the naughty step and ausaging(?sp) our guilt with lots of new Thomas the tank engine toys! Phillip Green of toddler taming would turn in his grave!

MoosMa · 21/06/2007 15:24

DD2 has just been jabbed and weighed. Jabs were fine, she didn't even notice them and the weighing was good (apart from her weeing on my hand), she's now 15lbs (has grown 1lb in 2 weeks) and rapidly approaching the 75th centile

She had a bit of a funny 3 weeks when we went on holiday and afterwards when she didn't want to feed at all but it doesn't seem to have affected her, she's nice and squishy all over! Still no rolling in either direction but she has found her toes and will lie on her back holding them and rocking sideways.

SBN (and anyone else who's got one) I was going to ask you about the P&T, now that DD2's getting bigger I'm finding it quite hard posting her into the back bit and was wondering if I could swap the seats and sit her up, will your LO sleep in it like that?

I had a little mummy treat the other day, I bought myself a new bag (woo!) it's rather large though as it has to be able to hold nappies, wipes, nappy bags, spare clothes, drink, rice cakes, bottle, etc etc......

Am a bit nervous as I'm being referred to hospital to see a gynae person about my non-healing bits . I've been given some medicine to dampen down the nerves to help the pain but I'll have to wait and see how much that helps...

Sorry for the long post, just I have 2 sleeping DDs and am making the most of it :0

Sallyallyally · 21/06/2007 17:20

Off to big family wedding this weekend...keep your fingers crossed for us sitting down to eat together, rather than one of us eating, one walking outside then swapping over!! Henry beaming most of the time apart from in TESCO the other day when he shouted so loudly people started coming up and trying to help me! Still..at least I got my very own checkout opened for me!!! (shopping packed, taken to the car..thought they were going to offer to pay for it for a moment!)Way behind with vaccination schedule..2nd lot of 5 in 1 booked in for week after next at 20 weeks! DD1 has started weaning Henry, found them sharing an apple the other day.

Alocin · 21/06/2007 18:59

hello all! Long time no speak!

Little bundle of joy not so little - 17 weeks tonight and 18lbs!

He is happy on his tummy, and rolling over loads.

I've joined the gym and have been doing swimming/yoga/aerobics and gym in a bid to shift some weight, and it seems to be working (slowly) and I feel a lot bette for it. They've got a lovely creche which Patrick seems to enjoy.

I am in west Cambridgeshire, London is accessible and am close to Bienchen in Northants.

MoosMa · 21/06/2007 19:11

Hooray!! She's just rolled from front to back, are we the last to hit the milestone?

hairycaterpillar · 21/06/2007 19:49

Pants... just read your post Moosma and realised that I've yet again failed to remember DS's 2nd set of jags (had appoint on wed) he's 19wks so should really have had 3sets by now...oops I blame the sleepless nights my brain is like mince!!!

It's been gloriously sunny here today, my DS1 and DD have been splahing around in the paddling pool most of the afternoon. DS2 not so keen on the sun but thankfully had missed his morning nap so had extra long post lunch nap.

hairycaterpillar · 21/06/2007 19:51

oh and no rolling here not even front to back...showing no interest, so busy being entertained by DS1 and DD no time to try and do anything as strenous as rolling!!

MoosMa · 21/06/2007 20:35

Are any of you on Facebook? I've recently become rather addicted to it . I've spent a couple of evenings recently while DH has been out working sat at the computer tracking down old school friends. If any of you want to see me I'm here

andyrobo237 · 21/06/2007 20:58

No - no rolling here - but he can get from back to side, and I have lipped him over a few times, much to his surprise!

LO weighing in at 14lb 5oz - just below the 25% line, which he has been following for ages. THe little happy chappy is now fast asleep.

DH and I have discussed our flab - and I managed 15 mins on the stepper today - much to the amusement of DS. I had intended to go for a half hour walk but it rained and I had to go to clinic and then school so didnt want to be soaking wet. Will go out tomorrow morning regardless! Started Slimming World two weeks ago - lost 2lbs so far - aiming to lose 1 st by our hols in 5 weeks time!!! These lovely loose smock tops / tunics are great for hiding a post baby belly - although he is now 18 weeks and it should be going down a bit quicker - stil got 6lb of his weight gain (must be all his fault!!!) before I tackle the other 2 or so stones!

BTW I am going to feature in a baby magazine in October - not sure if it is Mother & Baby or Pregnancy and Birth - but jusst spoke to journo today about by c-section birth story.

peachygirl · 21/06/2007 22:08

Hi again and helooo to those we haven't seen recently I had a bit of rolling at the weekend but I've not seen anything since.
I'm well chuffed about the buggy. It's a red one and I'm hoping it will be better to take into London where the Silver cross is quite heavy and out to National trust properties where the terrain is a bit rough. I also got a parasol, travel bag and a cosytoe.
I did buy a pair of trousers in Tescos last week if that counts as a treat oh and these a while ago with some vouchers but in gold

I've added Alocin onto the list. I'm going to give you all a deadline of next friday if you want to come to a meet up..... come on girl!!!!!

hello everyone....

sorry i havnt posted in a while things here have been really hectic. planning for wedding and looking after ds 1 and 2.

i have been reading up just hadnt got round to posting.

ds2 is now 19lb 3oz. had all his jabs including his bcg. i had a bit of trouble with him as he has been constantly sick with diorreah (excuse spelling) and is in alot of pain. they have diagnosed reflux and a lactose intolerance. so changed his milk to lactose free and given him some gaviscon.so far so good

glad to hear everyone is ok. empathise with the mummies that are still kept awake at all hours. ds2 sometimes decides to get up at 4 and not go back to sleep. he rolls over from front to back and back to front and leopard crawls accross the floor. (which is an achievement as i have wooden floors.)

i am up for a meet. i live in hertfordshire so a meet in or around london would be ideal

wondered if any of you had tarted weaning yet?

xxx

forgottenfreetime · 22/06/2007 14:50

I could meet up in Northants to the Midlands, so you can add me to the list Peachy. DD is 15 wks and 14lb14oz weighed today! She did her first lot of rolling on Tuesday, witnessed by my mom and quickly was lain upon by DS so we're not making a big deal of that anymore . Still struggling with abit of sibling rivalry. I too am having to squeeze dd into the P+T but haven't got round to trying her in the seat unit yet so can't offer any advice. What I have found invaluable is car seat attachment which I have permanently attached whether i am using the car seat or not because I hang toys off it to keep her amused underneath. Had interesting chat about baby led weaning today and might try that this time. I have to get my head around the notion that it doesn't matter how much of the food they actualy eat at first- its the experience that counts right?!

marmitemad · 22/06/2007 15:33

wow, I have a few days away from the pc and everyone comes out to post (hope thats not a hint to me to stop rambling so much?), still its nice to hear news from everyone.

Peachygirl - thanks for starting to organise the meet up, feel a bit guilty for not helping as I suggested it. I suppose we need to start thinking about location/dates?
very exciting to hear about the Micralite, I am thinking about getting a Maclaren Quest for a lightweight buggy.

Went into work today to talk about going back, they are happy to be as flexible as I like so we have agreed 3 days, starting on 23rd October, really must see some childminders now and make a decision on cm/nursery.

Talking about treats, I am really looking forward to going to my health spa tomorrow evening, used to go every month but can't find the time now . Haven't been clothes shopping for me for a while as I find it too frustrating not being able to wear the sizes I used too. I lost 2lbs at RC class last week but put it back on this week, so am back to zero weight loss so far .

Andyrobo - interesting to hear about your magazine debut, do you get paid? you'll have to remind us nearer the time so we can go out and get a copy

Moosma - sorry to hear about your non healing bits, I'm sure it will be worth the trauma to get it sorted out. I decided not to have a coil as I couldn't face the rummaging so I think you are being very brave. I find rescue remedy quite good for calming nerves. Glad the jabs went well.

MoosMa · 22/06/2007 15:52

Am going to try swapping the P&T seats around soon if only it would ever stop raining. Also I have to go and buy a puncture repair kit as I have a flat tyre

snugglebumnappies · 22/06/2007 15:57

Moosma, no DS2 isn't rolling over yet, doesn't spend enough time on his back to do so, absolutly hates lying down, which is why I changed the seats round on the P&T, he's happy to sleep upright, I have him in the small seat and he looks really comfy in there Hope everything goes well at the hosp, is it a long wait to see anyone?

FFT, sounds very much like my parenting style at the moment, DD never knows if she is going to be told of or bribed, no wonder she is playing up!

Peachy, excellent buy, I have always liked the look of the micralite but not had the funds to justify one

MoosMa · 22/06/2007 15:59

Does anypne know if P&T tyres have inner tubes? I might just take the whole thing to Halfords and play the dim blonde role so they fix it for me (DH says I'll have to hold my tummy in though!).

GP said probably a couple of months waiting but we'll see...

marmitemad · 22/06/2007 16:06

oh dear, dd has now starting sucking her thumb. every time I turn round its back in her mouth, wasn't so fussed when it was fingers/hand but the thumb is definately favoured now.

its been bucketing it down here all day as well, very amusing watching everyone at Ascot (just down the road) huddling under umbrellas (or am I just )

snugglebumnappies · 22/06/2007 16:44

moosma, just looked in the booklet and they do have an inner tube, oh and the shopping cart we are changing to id zen cart

MoosMa · 22/06/2007 22:51

Puncture is mended and seats are swapped. Not sure how impressed she is but I whizzed her round the garden over all the bumps and she stayed put so as long as she can sleep this way I think it can stay. She does look tiny in there though, like DD1 has brought her dolly in the under carriage.

daizydoo · 23/06/2007 08:31

Hi there, thank you for all your advice re continuing to breastfeed when I go back to work. I dont feel quite so worried about it. DS will be 5 1/2 months when I go back, so if he lasts so long we wont have long left before we start weaning.

We've had a really bad week sleepwise. Normally my DS wakes just once in the night, but it's been at least 3/4 times recently I used the grobag last night and he only woke once agin The lack of sleep has made me so dizzy - I thought I'd locked myself out of the house the other day, so off we trekked to DH's work to pick up his key, car almost overheating on the way. Got back to find I'd actually left the keys in the front door!
I've not had any treats, but desperately need to get my hair cut soon!

babydriver · 23/06/2007 22:42

Goodness, what busy netbunnies you've all been - just when folks were saying it had gone a bit quiet!

DS2 is 20 weeks old tomorrow! He's had his last jabs and seems fine with them, and has been rolling from back to front for the first time today. Using a very non-technical method (me holding him on scales at home) I reckon he weighs 18lbs. Sleeping still a bit all over the place though.

Gave myself a bit of a treat last week - discovered that Gap t-shirts are really long (so good for bfing) lovely and stretchy, good colours, and on offer so I bought three! Also got some jeans on sale in M&S as was sick of wearing the same pair every day so can now alternate.

Must get some time out for exercise now - I've been impressed that some of you have been managing it. If it's not raining tomorrow morning, perhaps I'll go for a run.

Oh, nearly forgot. Moosma, if you're interested, I'll try to find out which homeopathic remedy is good for healing nerve-rich areas - it's one of the fairly common ones but I just can't remember offhand which it is.
