Babydriver, I think it's hypercal, but please check as my brain is all over the place. My midwife gave me a spray bottle and tincture to use, didn't have a tear but it worked well on my "piles from hell"

On the subject of homeopathy DD and DS2 have been really sufferring, have started DD on boots own homeopathic hayfever remedy and it has worked wonders, would highly reccomend

peachygirl · 24/06/2007 21:12

Hi just a pop in, my parents are here and so we have been busy.. I'll update the meet up list soon!
Had a great day went on a walk with London Drama (a thing I am involved in) whcih was a tour of the Globe theatre , the remains of the Rose theatre and backstage at the Royal opera house .... Brilliant!!

Ooooh I would have loved that peachy!

I've now decided that DD just won't sleep well and that we'll have to get used to it. She sleeps about 5 hours a day less than DS! Maybe an hour or two of 20 min bursts during the day and then at night I start settling her about 6:30ish and DH is still up there bouncing her hammock. She'll be up every couple of hours once she's asleep and then up for the day at 8 at the latest. HOW can we break this cycle of overtiredness? I'm hoping a 2.5 hour car journey to Aberdeen next weekend without DS to make a noise might help lol. She's learning so much at the moment though so I'm wondering if it's all developmental. She's rolling, putting feet in her mouth, isn't too far off sitting, has hit the 'squealing' stage. Hopefully once sitting is done that'll be the development up to date for a wee while. I reckon DS only started settling once he was sitting at about 5 months ish.

babydriver · 24/06/2007 21:20

snugglebum, you're right Hypericum is the one. moosma, because on the tube in the shop it usually doesn't tell you anything, here's what it says in the blurb with my kit: "number 1 remedy for injury to nerves: useful first aid treatment for lacerated wounds from sharp instruments or any injury to nerve rich areas; pains are extreme and shoot along the nerves." My mum swears by it when she has work done on her teeth. You could take it as a tablet or, as snugglebum says, as a tincture to use externally where it often comes together with calendula, another good healer. HTH

Nothing else to report, except I went for a quick run this am even tho it was raining a bit - good incentive to keep going once I was out but I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow!

Snafflepants · 24/06/2007 21:40

Hello everybody!

I hope it's ok to join in? I have been lurking for ages and finally thought it was time to pop up!

I'm Ami and my DD Izzie was born on the 27th of Feb.

suzi2 · 24/06/2007 22:08

hello snafflepants. Where are you from? Is izzie your first?

MoosMa · 24/06/2007 22:59

Thanks for that snugglebum and babydriver I might give it a go. What's a tincture though?

Welcome along snaffle.

snugglebumnappies · 25/06/2007 09:34

welcome snaffle

moosma a tincture is a concentrated soultion, often used in diluted form. I will ask my m/w where to get hold of it

snugglebumnappies · 25/06/2007 11:20

just checked with her and she buys her hypercal tincture from Helios online. If you get some put about 6 drops in one of those little spray bottles you can get from boots, top up with water and spray on the area several times a day. I used it every time I went to the loo ( which was a bloody lot after three 8lb 10oz and over kids )

Snafflepants · 25/06/2007 12:34

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome!

We live in Nottingham (a particularly wet one at the moment) and yes Isabel is my first - going bakc to work next month - only part time but absolutely dreading it

Bienchen · 25/06/2007 20:37

Hi and welcome snaffle! Nice to see there is someone else from the middle of the country!

Moosma, I can recommend Helios pharmacy. They are very helpful and posted my labour kit first class with a next day arrival. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Re pampering, have decided not to fork out on clothes as weather is so awful but have treated myself to a few massages (45 mins for £18). Having my back done and my thighs to work a bit on the nasty post pg cellulite (tmi... )

We had DD christening yesterday and it was absolutely lovely. Only disappointment were the photos as about 50 were taken and most of them were of DP's glamorous sisters. There's only one of parents, baby and godparents. None has my DS in it! I am still miffed and will start another thread to vent my anger rather than bore you all with it.

Had a look at a nursery today but I think I will be happier with a c/m; they always remind me a bit of an orphanage, however sunny and friendly they are. DS went to c/m and then at 2 started nursery, so may end up doing same again.

Jabs tomorrow...

forgottenfreetime · 25/06/2007 20:39

Just started putting LO in his cot between 7.30 and 8.30pm so he can get used to going to bed at a decent time. It worked fine last night, but his wimpering now - DH has gone to sort him out!! He has been messing with his milk the last day or so - drinking one bottle then messing with the other two or three - strange! Still not sleeping through the night - dont think we will ever manage that!

Nothing else to report - I also need to have some treats like you forgottenfreetime - so went and bought plants for the garden, so will need to spend a few hours out there tomorrow putting them in!! DH is off so he can look after the LO for an hour or so.

MoosMa · 27/06/2007 21:00

It's all very quiet here today...

Tabbie has rolled from back to front this evening, it took 5 minutes of grunting, then when she got there she cried because she couldn't get back! I've got a nasty sore throat and am trying not to get too ill, but apart from that all's well here

SBN, have had a look at Zen and might use it but thought I'd wait and see what you think of it first!

peachygirl · 27/06/2007 22:14

I'm about moosma I'm printing off lots of photos for my mum and da to take away. Not much to report here DD is sooo close to rolling.

suzi2 · 28/06/2007 21:31

I'm about tonight having finally got Isla to settle for longer than 10 mins. She's been waking every 20 mins for the last 2 nights. DH and I are like zombies! She's got the cold so I tried medised tonight and she seems a bit more settled. I can't work out if she's too hot/cold/tired/undertired whatever!

Well done to all the rollers. Isla is rolling everywhere. If she's tired she just rolls onto her belly and protests a lot. If she's feeling lively and especially if she has her nappy off, she's onto her tummy, back onto her back, onto her tummy etc and can cover a couple of metres in no time! With DS I was always trying to get him to do it and push him onto the the next 'trick' but this time it's come too soon and I am NOT ready for a mobile baby!

daizydoo · 29/06/2007 16:07

I can't believe it! I put my LO on the bed this morning and watched in complete disbelief as he crawled up the bed using his feet and his head!!!!! When he got to the top he just turned and started going sideways. That's one less place to put him down!!

I took him swimming yesterday, he loved it splashing about it the water. He even seem to like being dunked! Shame I cant afford the £77 for swimming lessons - guess we'll just have to carry on splashing about!!

marmitemad · 29/06/2007 18:43

just a quick hello as i'm meant to be packing, we are off to the Lake District tomorrow (hoping we don't get swept away), hope everyone has a great week.

peachygirl · 29/06/2007 20:53

Ok this is the last call for those interested in the meet ups... roll up roll up

Things good here our last swimming session. I did get some photos but I'm not sure if I will be able to upload them.
Dd had a great time with the CM today but Dh is suffering as he has had a tooth taken out

forgottenfreetime · 30/06/2007 13:41

Hi, I have been working like mad to finally finish and 'dress' the flat we are selling. Then just as I finished yesterday and was about to take the keys to the estate agents DH says to wait another week since he knows somone who might be interested and we could avoid the fees. If looks could kill! Apart from that DD is lovely even with a flat head from all the lying down she has to do while I'm busy! DS is good too - haven't had any biting for a whole week now and only a couple of incidents the week before. Had a great time out with my mates from work, so I'm planning another night out next week when dh is in Germany and my mum will babysit. Have now lost all my baby weight but have not regained any muscle tone whatsoever so shall have to phone former gym buddy who is also slacking to remotivate me. Now the flat is finished I feel like I have a whole new life! Sad eh?

Bienchen · 02/07/2007 06:08

Hope you all had a good w/end. I spent half of the time taking washing out and in as I find that things just don't dry inside.

DD has been quite grizzly for most of last week. I don't think she has my cold but she is still quite windy. And she needs a sleep not long after most feeds which may sound ideal but honestly, she struggles to get herself off. She has also started to go to bed much sooner and we now get her settled for about 7:30.

FFT - brilliant news on the weight loss. I still have half a stone to shift that will NOT budge (ie it is the same half a stone that I was left with a few weeks after giving birth). As most of my clothes fit, I am not too bothered. Have started to go on the rowing machine and know what you mean about lack of muscle tone...

Sat my exam on Thursday; results not due until September, good old RHS.

andyrobo237 · 02/07/2007 10:17

We had a busy weekend - my brother and his very preg wife and 18 mont old came up from London, so we spent most of our time at my Mums house.

T is definately teething - he has been really grizzly and screaming in pain - queue Calpol! His bottom gums seem to be quite bulgy - expecting a tooth soon - hopefully!

He is trying to sleep at the moment - in his swing - looks really comfy!

I have 6lbs of baby weight to lose - it will not budge - need to do some exercise, but this weather is really off putting - we got soaked yesterday on the way back from the swimming pool - three torrential showers - we were more wet than when we were in the pool.

Off to Toys R Us to get a highchair today - they have some good offers on and T likes to sit up with us when we eat - he complains when he is in his bouncy chair on the floor!!! We are getting one that reclines so he can use it now (20 WEEKS).
