Blimey...I was just looking at some old photos and found a PG one.
Look on my profile....and I still had 3 to go in that picture.

Bloody hell.....

2HappyEaster · 08/04/2007 16:31

ds2 mostly sleeps through - or at least goes all night without needing a feed (except last night, but think that was more because dh mistakenly turned the heating off and he was freezing), but is awake on and off, and even when asleep is noisy enough to wake me.

No easter eggs from dh here either, but both grannies got ds1 enough chocolate that I'll cope . Damn it'll be a shame when they're old enough to remember that there's chocolate in the fridge and it's theirs, lol!

Good thread, I'm interested.

Right I need some advice my little dd has been a real pain these last 2 nights she has been waking at midnight and then not setteling back to sleep at all. A couple of days ago I decided to put her down in her cot awake to try and get her used to the idea she does drift off eventually but wakes up at around midnight I then have been feeding her then sticking her dummy in and putting her back down however I am then up nearly every 15/20 min putting her dummy in as she spits it out and is very aggitated. We have noticed in the daytime that if we leave her on her own she gets very upset and starts crying but as soon as we are around again she shuts up, Do you think I should have a night light on in her room I never had one with ds and even today he is happy to go to sleep in the dark so this night light buisness is all new to me. She had her injections on thursday and since then has had a rash which I think is a reaction to the injections if she is no better tomorrow im taking her to the doctors.

JodieG1 · 09/04/2007 16:31

I would wonder if it's a reaction to have the jabs causing her to not sleep as much, especially as she still has a rash. I don't think you need to use a nightlight really at this age. She might just want to be with you, is she in your room still?

ellieandhattie · 09/04/2007 16:59

To be on the safe side I'd go to Drs re the rash but Hattie still has a very dim light nightlight on and she settles herself through the night (often hear her cooing at something in her cot)

Ellie had a nighlight till she was 1 and even now we have a small plug in one in her room but I remember those nights of being up and down sticking the dummy back in with her luckily Hattie has one to go to sleep and manages to find her thumb during the night.

Had an okay day DH went to work just me and girls but saw my mum and dad for a bit and done lots of bits around the house, got some new photos of them together put one on my profile! Comments please

laughalot · 09/04/2007 17:05

laughalot · 09/04/2007 19:21

Wilks has your msn gone wappy it wont let me log on

ellieandhattie · 09/04/2007 19:25

laughalot I am waiting for you on msn ahem ahem ahem (cough cough cough)

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 09/04/2007 19:38

No Laughalot - mine is still working fine but you have disappeared. Thought I had bored you

Just got back from a lovely weekend at my ILs and then my parents.

Have had a shitty sore throat though and Jacob is still snuffly. Can he still have his second lot of jab tomorrow even though he is snuffly?

He has started feeding properly again - yey - 6oz every 4 hours.

Whoever mentioned Galmum - I was thinking about her today too and thought she hasn't posted for ages...and KatieRocket

LTH - I honestly thought you meant you had 3 months left and I though FUUUUUCCCCCCCCCK but it was 3 weeks

PCF - don't know why I have been thinking about this but you say that DS1 is autistic. Did he develop autism after his MMR or was it before that? Was discussing the MMR with DH the other night whether to have it or have seperate jabs...

Weaning Q (I realise this is a touchy subject with two very opposing factions on this thread so can I ask that you only answer my weaning questions rather than tell me not to wean until 6 months - cheers m'dears. If you don't agree with me just ignore my question ) - what are those of you starting weaning at 4 months going to begin with? I'm not sure whether to use babyrice or pureed root veg? My Annabel Karmel book says to avoid too sweet foods (fruits) as a baby's will always have a naturally sweet tooth.

LadyTophamHatt · 09/04/2007 20:40

wilkie, with the older Ds's I always started with baby rice.
Did about 2 weeks of just baby rice(once aday) and very slowly introduced abit of veg , mixing it with teh rice.

Over the weeks I increased the veg and decreased the rice.

I'm waiting as long as possible this time though...can't be faffed to do it anytime soon and the thought of preparing baby food in a tent on holiday fills me with dread.

George will be starting school and asking me to stop force feeding him with a bottle[gron]

hattie2 · 09/04/2007 21:28

EAH - thanks for the df advice. Think I'll try the 'cold turkey' approach, I'm just getting used to having a full night's sleep back though so will have to wait till I'm felling up to being woken up again! Lovely photos btw, you and your dd are so alike.

UD - great idea about mass bf, will watch out for any updates on where and when.

We are off to brave legoland tomorrow, fingers crossed for a cold, wet day so no-one else goes (I hate crowds and queueing!, although having said that no doubt I'll spend all day sat waiting with ds while dd and dh stand in the queues .... what fun)

hattie2 · 09/04/2007 21:36

Wilkie - with dd I did baby rice first, followed by carrot, sweet potato etc. and then courgette (which was her favourite by a long way, strange child!).

Like LTH I plan to wait longer this time, through laziness as much as anything else . If I had a penny for every time I've said "it was soooo much easier when they were just on milk ....."

annieapple7 · 09/04/2007 22:03

Blimey I can't keep up with these threads!
Very at all the sleeping throughers - Rose is going backwards - now waking at 2.30 am and 6.30 am - after going until 5 am previously! Ds1 slept through at 9 weeks and DS2 at 12 weeks so Rose has 1 week to sort her act out, but I am not hopeful!

I am rather late to the geometric list, but I have added me to list, the only Welshie it seems.

Any one tried the hungry baby aptamil, does it make them go longer between feeds? This three hour waking thing is a killer. I think I will need a creme egg to get me through it.

Re the weaning question - I started on baby rice, then with veg and fruit purees. Actually that is a fib, I was so distracted doing Ds2's first meal, I have him banana porridge instead of baby rice. No ill effects though!

Hattie2 - how was legoland? was it horribly busy? we went last september and the boys loved it.

LadyTophamHatt · 09/04/2007 22:55

I thought it was 4 months for FF babies and 6 months for BF babies to be weaned, I asked on the weaning thread the other day and almost cheered when someone told me it was 6 month across the board.

I thought "Thank god for that" because it is the biggest effin faff there is when it comes to babies IMO.

Ds2 and 3 were weaned at 16ish weeks and it went ok, DS1 was weaned at.....brace yourselves......you'll never guess.....hold tight.....11 weeks.
Don't ask me why though, it had only changed to 4 month abaout a yr before he was born.

God...the thought of doing it again makes me want to cry. I just hope to bloody god I haven't got a fussy eater again because it sucks bigtime when they won't eat what you've lovingly prepared for them (yes DS3...I'm talking baout you!!)

Sorry I know weaning if a taboo subject but thought I say all that anyway.

ellieandhattie · 10/04/2007 08:22

annie there are a few of us doing mixed aptamil feeding (me,shimmer, wilkie and laughalot i think) hattie has normal aptamil at 6am,10am,2pm and hungrier baby aptamil at 6pm (bed at 6.45) and hungrier aptamil at dreamfeed at 10pm this makes her sleep till 6.30am ish
