Wilkie, you could gargle with salt, sage and cider vinegar, take some echinacea tincture and a chopped clove of garlic in a spoon of honey, or just some beechams powders! Running off to Yorkshire now before I reveal too much lentil weaverism
Bye..

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 07/04/2007 09:10

noooo Carrot reveal your lentil weavings! then i won't feel like the only tree hugging hippy mumma on here!!

RGeeSusIsCrucified · 07/04/2007 09:36

Mooooorrrrrrrnnnnniiiiinnnnnggggggg!!!!
UD - are our lo's tuned in? We had our second through the night last night. She woke up at 7.30am bless. 12 and a half hours!!
The sun is shining; washing is in (thinking of you Vino); dishwasher's on; DH is on a 13 mile run; LO is asleep; I have a cup of tea.....ahhhhh...
Wilkie - no major plans this weekend. DH has been off work since Wed, and the weather is so nice we are just mooching in a relaxed way. Prob head to the park and the pub for a shandy at lunchtime, and I'm off in to town this afternoon. Lizz - I need a bra now I've stopped bf (81 cms underneath and 102 round the top if you could do me a quick calculation ). Have friends staying tomorrow evening. Hope you aren't too ill to enjoy the BH weekend though.

Carrot - you've prob gone now, but have a fabbie time. I love the Yorkshire Dales!

UD - love to meet up but Northampton's a pi$$er to get to for the day from Leeds. 2-3 train changes and 3.5 - 4 hour journey. Prob have to sit this one out

Have loads of people gone away for the weekend? It is quiet here.

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 07/04/2007 11:13

RGee - i'm really sorry about earlier on MSN, my laptop died and then Zac decided to do a massive poo! so i did want to talk to you, bt=ut events conspired against us! another time, perhaps??!

RGeeSusIsCrucified · 07/04/2007 16:04

UD - funnily enough, I was going to apologise for disappearing so quickly! LO woke up and immediately demanded a cuddle so I had to dash.
Quiet again here today. Gorgeous out there so I'm not surprised. Just got back from town which was far from quiet. Luckily it was preceeded by two pints in the pub so I could cope

EasterHattieOrShouldItBeBonnet · 07/04/2007 16:15

wilkie - my msn is [email protected], I can 'see' you!

I could be up for a meet up in the midlands somewhere - am from round that area orginally so we visit up there fairly regularly and have places to stay, so put mw down as a 'maybe'

EasterHattieOrShouldItBeBonnet · 07/04/2007 16:20

question for EAH or LTh (or anyone experienced in dreamfeeds!) - how do you drop the dreamfeed? Do you bring it gradually earlier for a couple of weeks before stopping or just stop and see what happens?

LO is sleeping 7pm to 7.30am with a dreamfeed at about 10.30 but he never seems particularly hungry first thing in the morning so am thinking of trying to go without the dreamfeed.

ellieandhattieandchocolate · 07/04/2007 18:21

Easter hattie with Ellie we cut down the milk bit by bit whilst at the same time bringing the dream feed forward by 15mins each night so she gradually weaned off it as she wouldnt any milk at 8pm if she had fed at 6ish.

If he doesnt seem that hungary in the morning it may be worth doing a 'cold turkey' night just to see what happens. We accidentially did that as I went to bed and forgot to do feed and she slept (didnt realise till the morning when I couldnt work out why I had an extra bottle) tried it next night and she woke at 3 o back to dream feeding. IIRC with Ellie I started tweaking dreamfeed when she was in established weaning (no comments what age that was [wink)

Well after 38hours of Hattie not pooing and screaming in pain and trying every wives tale she finally pooed this afternoon and is so much happier now hoorah!

Had a lovely day at my nan yesterday my auntie met me there and did most of the childcare nan bought both girls some new clothes and my auntie got Ellie a dora backpack for preschool which she was delighted with. Got home to find my auntie had put £50 cheque in my bag to put towards Ellies preschool fees which was lovely (my aunt is elleis godmother and sadly cannot have kids of her own so ellie very special to her).

Then found 2 cards for the girls and my nan has given them £50 each for easter, I cant believe it, it is so lovely of her and will boost their savings!

On a bummer note my 6 month old digital camera has died took it back to shop today but it has to be repaired and they have to send it away and it can take 3 weeks. Am going to borrow my mum and dads as Hattie so smiley now I dont want to miss phoo opportunity

Off to my parents tomorrow for egg hunt and bbq and not sure about monday yet hopefully day out if weather nice! Bet I dont get a easter egg tomorrow and I got DH one from thorntons witth 'To Daddy Love Ellie and Hattie' that'll make him feel guilty

laughalot · 07/04/2007 18:38

Hi everyone hope you are having a cracking easter, we have been in the garden all day its been lovely my ds has been playing in our garden with the children from over the road he has loved it, lauren is a bit under the weather she has got a rash since she has had her jabs she seems fine in herself dont know if its the heat or what but iv done the glass test over and over again just to make sure. We are going to my mum and dads tomorrow for a barbecue and my dh has just nipped to pick our curry up got absolutley wrecked last night on southern comfort and coke luckily my mil had the kids for the night . Wish my dd was sleeping through....

2HappyEaster · 07/04/2007 19:33

EandH - I can give you my method for getting lo's to poo.... put the last of our size 2's on ds2 today thinking great, managed to use all the nappies up even though they are a little small for him, but with no major accidents...you can see it coming, can't you?! Yup, right through the nappy, body suit top and trousers onto the bouncy chair and everything. Had to be an emergency bath. He's in his size 3's now!!

Bit frazzled today. dh been home all of 10mins all day, ds1 missed his nap, ds2 not sleeping and screaming his head off while I've been trying to get ds1 fed, calmed down and into bed. Just got him down when dh phoned to say he's not going to be home any time soon. The house is a tip and I've got to tidy it and cook ready for his family at lunchtime. And there's not a SoCo or a Mohito in sight...

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 07/04/2007 20:10

Ok people. Make me feel better. Hands up whos LOs still aren't sleeping through....

Wilkie raises right arm

Loubie37 · 07/04/2007 20:35

Hi

Long time no post! I do read (or try to read!) as often as poss but never seem to get time to reply....

Ben is doing really well, he sleeps through now from 8pm (ish) to 7am (ish) which is lovely as we now have our evenings back (well as much as you can have with 2 teenagers to contend with aswell!). He still has reflux but it's a lot easier to manage since he's been on Gaviscon Infant and Dr Brown's bottles.

As for weaning, I'm another one who's going to try and hold off until as near as 6 months as possible...I remember only too well the hassle and mess weaning involves, I'm happy to delay it with Ben for as long as possible!!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the lovely weather, makes a change to have sunshine on a Bank Holiday

Shimmer · 07/04/2007 21:56

Are you guys all MSNing again??? Wilkie Freddie isn't really sleeping through yet either. He has done a few times but most of the time he wakes up at 5-5:30, which is really not morning in my book!
I second a meet up in London.
Told DP not to buy me an easter egg as i'm really trying to loose some weight at the moment before holidays- thought of getting into a swimming costume is absolutely terrifying. TBH I was kind of hoping that he would have got me a little one anyway, but i really don't think he has (secret ) but he did bring a bottle of champers home today. He had to work and didn't get home til after LO had gone to bed at about 8, so it was sort of to make up for that too. But i'd already had 2 glasses of wine by then... and have now just drunk half a bottle of champagne. Thats the most booze i've had for over a year!

trixymalixy · 07/04/2007 22:09

Hi guys,

I'm at my ILs in the lake district for easter and just sneaking a quick look. The weather is absolutely fantastic here, had to go and buy Ds a sun hat!!

Will have to work out how to MSN otherwise i'll get left out!! My laptop is one which has been purloined from DH's work though so can't really put anything on it IYSWIM.

Can't remember who was asking as just skimmed the thread but DS hasn't had his jags yet. he was supposed to have them on Thursday but had to cancel them because of the funeral. It'll be another month before he can get them.

Rgee - thanks for asking. The funeral was OK. I think having Ds there helped to cheer everyone up. He was as good as gold and sat through a church service and the bit at the crematorium. He only started crying at the moment the coffin disappeared which was strangely appropriate.

Loubie - nice to see you back!!

Wilkie - my DS isn't sleeping through, so you're not the only one. In fact he's getting worse, has been up 3 times for the past 2 nights. I think he has a bit of a sore tummy though as I am feeling a bit dodgy.

Carrot - your LO is gorgeous !! Lots of hair too.

Lizz - DS' poos range from fluorescent yellow to green. God knows how i would ever tell if he has diahorrea (sp?) as they are all completely liquid!

trixymalixy · 07/04/2007 22:10

Hope everyone is having a good Easter weekend!

katwith3kittens · 07/04/2007 23:33

Lovely weather up in the NE today. Spent a lovely day on the beach, just hoping the rest of the weekend is as good.

Just finished eggs for easter hunt tomorrow. Got these fab plastic egg cases in America a few years ago which you can fill with mini eggs and hide in the garden. Loads of fun.

LO not sleeping through but thats OK. He will sleep for 6 hours or so but then needs a feed. As we are co sleeping it doesnt really matter as we go back to sleep immediately.

Leaving him for 4 hours for the first time (gulp) to go to the rugby. Hope it works out !

ellieandhattieandchocolate · 08/04/2007 06:32

TRIXY glad things went as well as they could have I agree that LO's can help 'lighten' the day a little.

Shimmer come on get msn and then you will never be off your computer

Loubie hello nice to see you back

Has anyone seen galmum or jessdibs around lately?

I could do a london meet up as only 40mins from London on train but would have to leave Ellie with someone as me, a buggy and a toddler just wouldn't work

2happy (smile) at poo explosion- Hattie has gone from being constipated to pooing for England (that why I am here so early)

Hattie slees through and has done for 2 weeks she is much better than Ellie as we used to have to get up to put dummy back in every hour or so with her, whereas Hattie spits it out when shes asleep and doesnt bother with it (awww I do love her she lets me sleep) she does get up around 6-6.30 but am used to that and Ellie is up by 6.30 (well normally currently she is snoring in bed with dh and I am downstairs with Hattie) so doesnt bother me. She goes down around 6.30-6.45pm so has a 11 hour block of sleep.

ellieandhattieandchocolate · 08/04/2007 06:35

forgot to mention has anyones LO's got a comforter yet? Hattie has to have something in her hands and has taken to having a muslin to fiddle with. Ellie had a bear called Spencer who we lost when she was 18months old it was a nightmare managed to get another one on ebay but the period where Spencer dissapeared was unbearable so vowed wouldnt let Hattie get to attached to any one item

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 08/04/2007 10:04

well, so much for Z sleeping through! he's got this great trick where he kicks off all his blankets then wakes up and cries cause he's cold! so i've put him back in his sleeping ag - he hated it when i first tried it about a month ago, but now he loves it! odd child. i was up at 4:30 and 6:30 this morning, so i'll start a club of Intermittent Sleeping Through!!

EAH Zac has a little silkie that he has at night, he also has a little red elephant and a rattly caterpiller that he likes to play with in the morning! more often than not, i'm not woken up by him crying but by this **&^%$£@!!!!!!! caterpiller!

hope everyone has a good Easter Sunday - we're off to my mum's for roast lamb. yummy yummy!!

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 08/04/2007 11:00

guess what guess what??

dh - sorry, the Easter Bunny - has brought me a dozen Creme Eggs, and a large easter egg with two Creme Eggs! that's this week's supply sorted....

who knows when the sale of Creme Eggs stops??

RGeeSusIsRisen · 08/04/2007 11:59

Happy Easter! I've changed my name....

UD - sorry to report but we had third night on the bounce sleeping through. 7.15am today.

Easter Bunny brought me the biggest Easter Egg in the world. Sadly not Green and Blacks (it's ok though cos I got DH that, which means I can eat it later ), but a huge Mini Eggs on. Only 3000 calories. That's my food for today sorted.

Have a great day whatever you're all up to!

LadyTophamHatt · 08/04/2007 12:15

George isn't sleeping through either, wilkie.

I did think that maybe he's waking because he wants a cuddle(he sleeps on my chest after his nighttime feed) but he always drinks the whole bottle and always wakes up between 3:30-4:30am so I think it must still be hunger waking him.

No easter eggs for me, Dh had completely forgotten it was Easter ( Derrrr!) so it's just as well I had already bought the boys an egg each.
I hid them around the house so they had a mini easter egg hunt with big eggs and were well chuffed.

They've been out in the garden since about 10 am and Dh has just gone to work, I thought he was off today so I'm having quiet hour on here before we take the dog down the beach.

harry Easter everyone

Shimmer · 08/04/2007 12:33

Happy Easter Everyone!! UD I'll join your club of Intermittent Sleeping Through. Freddie woke up at 5:30 again this morning, but rather unusually went stright back to sleep after feeding and then slept from 6 til 8:15 which was a lovely easter surprise for me! DP did follow my instructions to not get me an easter egg () but i have already started eating his!
We're having lunch at my brothers today. I said i'll cook as him and his girlfriend are usless cooks but I phoned him at 11:30 to check if we were alright to go over and they weren't even up yet!! (remember those carefree, childless Sunday mornings??) So we're still at home at the moment and at this rate i'll be serving up the roast at about 6pm!!

Shimmer · 08/04/2007 12:35

Ohh I only just realised...its also Freddie's 3 month birthday today. Happy quarter birthday LO!!
