Sorry you didn't get to group, I often have the same problem!

Carolann8584 · 19/09/2017 12:48

We can try again tomorrow Smile

Yum yum. Cucumber sticks and pureed parsnips for lunch

purpleviolet1 · 19/09/2017 14:31

@100yearsdotcom sorry to hear about the reflux, is your dd on ranitidine? Do you know there is a sliding scale of doses? A maximum and minimum as per weight.

Thankfully ds's reflux hasn't been too bad since starting food but it's definitely a bit worse.

@NameChange30 glad things have improved slightly , don't lose hope this could be the start of something!

@Carolann8584 hopefully your dd has caught up on her sleep and feeling brighter

DS just getting up from a nap. I never managed to nap, made dinner and dh lunch for tomorrow, tidied kitchen and had lunch myself. 2 hours have flown

@NameChange30 I'm glad you had a good holiday in the end and I hope DS's sleep continues to improve. Hopefully the sleep training will go as planned.

We're a couple of hours from Cherbourg but I don't actually know where! PILs know someone with a townhouse who offered us a free stay in return for DH and FIL doing a bit of maintenance (both are electricians). We're going via ferry.

I'm also going to my sisters for a few days on Friday and it's just occurred to me how much I will need for 4/5 days!

@Carolann8584 sorry you didn't make it to group, I often have the same problem. Hopefully you can find another one to go to later in the week.

@Blondeshavemorefun I'm glad you're having a good time, the temp sounds lush!

@100yearsdotcom I'm so sorry your DD is suffering, I hope you can find some solution to the reflux.

purpleviolet1 · 19/09/2017 15:05

@NameChange30 your ds has cut his tooth!! How exciting! Perhaps that has contributed to the frequent awakenings too. Hopefully now that they are through it should help...

Had any other LO cut their teeth or is namechange first one?

DS is more interested in rolling about the floor than he is sitting. He can do a few rolls on the trot now and it's weird leaving him in one place and seeing him in another!! Not looking forward to crawling !!

Hey all just checking in , don't think I'll catch up completely but coupester I am really glad you started to enjoy weaning !
Name so glad to hear you had a good holiday and DS is sleeping more .
I've been doing some work and cleaning so I've tried not going on my phone much the past couple of days !
Met a friend at soft play and there was a horrible child of about 3 going in the baby area and pushing my friends 10 month old over and hitting all the small babies ! Neither of us dared to say anything . WWYD?

Carolann8584 · 19/09/2017 16:10

Hi mother I would of watch to see who the HC (horrid child) was with and have a word with them until then keep DC away from HC. I'm sure if you said anything to HC direct the person look after HC would jump on the wagon of "don't you tell my child off"

Carolann8584 · 19/09/2017 16:17

purple DD is also a roller. I was looking at gates/playpen enclosures for our living room. They are so expensive. I have 2 cats and a dog so I can't leave DD to play on the floor with out me lying down there with her, I can shut the cats out in the garden but my dog is 15 and can't even see where he's going let alone see a baby lying on the floor. We also have the boys toys out so she can wiggle over to them as well.

I wouldn't leave her alone any way but would be nice to sit and have brew while she's having a wriggle without worrying about choking on an action figure gun or the dog standing on her while she's exploring

purpleviolet1 · 19/09/2017 16:32

Ah I see @Carolann8584, crawling is going to be fun!

Today feels like I've not got anywhere but I think that's just coz Weve stayed indoors (and maybe coz I'm still In my pyjamas Blush) The cleaner came this morning so together we managed to get most of the house to a decent standard. I feel stressed when I'm not in control of it but I just don't manage to get down to housework after looking after ds, making dinner etc! I actually sat down for the first time in goodness knows how long and had my lunch Grin I've got so much paperwork to tidy up/ file away with the house move but every time I finally get a chance I'm too exhausted. I think I just need to break it up and do one thing per day.

How do people cope with more than one child?? So much respect ✊ for all you ladies!

@Carolann8584 have you thought about a travel cot? We got one from Aldi and you can use it as a play pen, I think it was £25?

purpleviolet1 · 19/09/2017 18:11

Thanks Hugh!

Carol- agree with Hugh I would've said to the child please don't do that and then told the staff. I'd be too scared to speak to parent!

I've been checking ds mouth but no sign of tooth yet. His gums all go white when he touches them but I guess that's always like that? I can't particularly feel a harder part in one area than another either. He is drooling loads though and gnawing at everything

We have just ordered a play pen for the front room so I can pop her in when I leave the room as I get so scared even looking away for a min now she is becoming mobile !

Well the mum kept saying "are you being a kind boy " when she saw him lots of times hitting and pushing ! Erm no he's not and you know it ! My friend said no don't do that a few times and he just stared at her . He was hitting and yelling at another baby and that mum said no too !

troodiedoo · 19/09/2017 20:58

We've got a travel cot in the living room to use as a play pen. Asda are doing them at the moment for twenty quid.

I told many a naughty child off years ago when dd1 was small. Soft play areas are a hot bed of misbehaviour! Always in a polite sing song voice. Never had any problems. Everyone seems so aggressive these days though, I am worried I'll get into a confrontation. Confused

Carolann8584 · 19/09/2017 21:30

DD has woken twice since going to bed at 7. First time still cried after I put dummy back in so put some teething gel on her gums she settled back down, this time dummy didn't work again until I gave her a cuddle as well. I think we are going to have repeat of last night. Poor little lady

MotherofA · 19/09/2017 21:49

I agree troodie !

sadly I feel like I'm a lot more wound up than I was when DD1 was little . So much stress and stuff going on I don't feel bloody relaxed at all .

Ah bless her Carol .

DD here has not drank as much milk the past few days ! Eaten lots of food but less milk ?!

Glad you arrived safely and hope you have a great time blondes

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/09/2017 21:53

@hugh. We have meningitis 8&16w so 2&4mth. Then again at 12mths

@name. Yah for teeth. We live in hope ........

Glad sleep training going well so far. Well done

@carol. Sorry you didn't make M&T / I prefer a long sleep after lunch so would wake up dd after an hr and go to a M&T /out etc

@mother. I would be saying a firm no to the child and that's horrible. We don't push babies

@100 is dc on medication? As purple said you can get different amounts of medication weight depending but also low and high level for that weight

Carolann8584 · 19/09/2017 22:32

She normally has her long nap in the afternoon but she swapped them round today after a bad night last. I didn't mind she still got up and went to bed at the same times and had all her bottles and meals at the right times. She's up to 3 meals now, slowly increasing the portion sizes.

Getting her weighed tomorrow. Will mess up her afternoon nap as the session runs from 1:30 til 3:30 and she normally sleeps 1:30 til 2:30/3. They only do weigh ins at the clinc near me on a Wednesday and I'm trying to get her weighed the Wednesday before the 23rd each month

purpleviolet1 · 20/09/2017 11:09

@MotherofA sounds like weaning is established for you Grin ds unfortunately the other way. He was only drinking about 20oz when I started weaning as he was getting used to the milk. Now he's increased his intake to approx 28oz and last few days been refusing solids but think that's coz of teething.

We had an ok night, woke at 12 crying again, uncomfortable with teething so gave him nurofen and teether. Settled fairly quickly. Then woke around 4.30 just playing away Hmm offered him milk at 5 as I wanted him to go back to sleep. This morning after his milk he did a massive projectile vomit 🤢 was coughing and it all just came out. Doesn't seem himself poor thing.

He refused breakfast this morning and I don't think I'm going to offer him lunch. Don't think he will take it anyway. Hopefully he will keep the milk down now.

I've also woken up with sore throats so think we may have a viral.

Carol how is your dd today?

Blondes hope you are having fun

MotherofA · 20/09/2017 11:45

Ah bless her Carol . That happens to me with nap times too , everything falls in to that time and then she gets really ratty !

Purple ah poor baby ! DD also woke at 4, kept crying out then going back off with dummy. I gave her 4oz at 6 am then she went back off and so did I until 8 which was cutting it fine for the school run ! 🙈🤣

All these toys and all she wants to do is pull magazines apart !

purpleviolet1 · 20/09/2017 12:28

Thanks all
