Like you say , it won't do any harm and there's no wrong or right . Smile

Carolann8584 · 17/09/2017 01:32

Sad 2nd night in her own room, she had her DF at 10:30 but has woken up at 1 and won't settle herself

NameChange30 · 17/09/2017 02:59

DS has just slept for 5 hours straight for the first time in WEEKS! I would have done a happy dance when I saw the time if I hadn't been so sleepy and surprised! Smile

Wonder if the ibuprofen had anything to do with it... Can't give him ibuprofen every night though, darn!

Carol
Hope your DD settled in the end.

purple
Sounds as if it would suit you better to try going without the dream feed, hope that works for you and DS.

purpleviolet1 · 17/09/2017 04:15

Awww namechange that's great! Grin I wouldn't give ibuprofen every night but if he needs something (and I would count waking up frequently with pain) then I wouldn't hesitate to give him calpol. I have friends who gave regular calpol when teething was bothering their LO's, they just kept on top of the pain that way. Teething does bother some babies more than others.

It's been one of those nights I've been waiting for ds to get up for his feed and he hasn't..! We had friends over and ended up getting to bed close to midnight and I'm not a good sleeper when I know it's going to be a short night/ I need to be up soon. So I've been tossing and turning and listening out for him. He was wriggling around at 1ish but settled very quickly without a peep.

She dosed off around 2:30. Just heard her kicking and smacking her arms against her mattress but hasn't cried out yet

name well done on the 5 hours

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2017 07:25

Fab for 5hrs. Hope you had a nice holiday @name and camping wasn't too bad

Carolann8584 · 17/09/2017 07:34

DD all smiles and giggles this morning. You would think after 8.5 hours she might want more than 3oz for her breakfast but no just wants half and cuddles

DS woke at 5am Grin I gave him 2oz and put him back down. He settled until 6.50am (I usually get him up at 7 anyway) so it worked well. He had 3oz of milk and 2oz mixed in porridge. So a total of 7oz. Not bad Grin

Thanks all! I'm feeling ok this morning! Smile

purple Sounds like your DS slept well last night, nice one! I guess the final step is being able to switch off yourself, not easy when you're on alert wondering if and when they're going to wake up.

Blondes Yes the holiday was good in the end thanks, it didn't rain the WHOLE time and we managed to do a few things - mainly it was nice to spend time with the PILs and for them to see DS. Hope you have a great holiday! Where are you off to?

NameChange30 · 17/09/2017 10:32

DS's clothes were all wet when DH got him out of his sleeping bag this morning Confused It's harder to tell when he's in the sleeping bag so I really hope he wasn't wet for too long. It's bizarre, he doesn't complain at all when he's wet, even when his clothes are soaked through.

He goes through phases of weeing ridiculous amounts at night. Might have to get some of those super absorbent night-time nappies. We normally use washable nappies but even with lots of layers they are getting soaked through.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2017 12:45

Just too exciting at the airport

I do sterilise but have picked up and given dd her teether countless times today at Gatwick and not a baby wipes in sight 😂😂😂

Had lunch and now asleep. Milk as we take off and then the joys of a 4.5hr flight

Will beee gin or wine when land 🍸🍸🍸🍸

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2017 12:48

Fab @purple. Ds sounds like he is doing well at sleep at night and weaning

The 12hr pampers are good. Bit ouch at £8per packet but work

Since no df dd is ok in normal nappies and uses lidl and keeps dry 12/13hrs

Carolann8584 · 17/09/2017 13:44

Last night was the first time in months DD has woken and stayed awake during the night. DF at 10:30 she had 5.5oz. She then woke at 1:30ish for an hour. She was looking uncomfortable so picked her up and she burped and trumped but then took a while to settle again. She woke me with her rolling and mattress hitting at 6:30ish which is better than 5ish but hope the middle of the night wake up was a one off

DD liked her sweet potato on day 3 of having it for her tea. Grin

troodiedoo · 17/09/2017 16:20

@Hugh I've introduced a bottle of formula a day, seems to have improved her sleeping and not affected supply as it's not always at the same time.

@Carol mine was awake 3-4 ish and wouldn't settle. I wondered if she was too cold.

Carolann8584 · 17/09/2017 16:48

See I thought that. Put an extra blanket from her waist down and tucked in all around. Might put her in a long sleeved vest tonight and see if it makes a difference

Carolann8584 · 17/09/2017 18:40

Long sleeve vest, sleepsuit, 2.5 tog sleeping bag. Room is currently 24 degrees

I put her down on her back but She just wants to sleep on her side, should i move her back?

The room seems on the warm side for that many layers? Although depends on the baby of course - how hot is her chest and back of her neck?

NameChange30 · 17/09/2017 18:58

(I do find it tricky as the room obviously cools down during the night!)

NameChange30 · 17/09/2017 19:00

DS sometimes sleeps on his side btw and i think it's fine. If they can roll from their back to their side and back again it's ok I think.

NameChange30 · 17/09/2017 19:02

Cute photos Hugh and Carol!

Carolann8584 · 17/09/2017 19:09

Her chest and back felt ok. The room does cool very quickly so it won't stay that warm for long hence the layers. Her arms and neck/head felt a little cold last night that's why the double sleeves. If the house falls below a certain temp then the heating will kick in and give us a bit if a boost. This is it's warmest
