That's ok CR - someone else always used to type cwsw as well! Know what you mean about it being a pain weaning them off the breast again when they've been ill. Actually managed today only to do the one in the night, and then one before bed this evening - best we've done since she got ill. We normally do first thing when she wakes and last thing before bed.

This is the site I always used for voucher codes.

Jelley - won't the fence only shade at the start/end of the day, when the sun is low?

2boysmacca · 12/04/2007 21:13

Just added those to my dads favourites. We were planning on center parcs next month and with one of those codes it's coming out £100 less than we were quoted last week!

Ds2 not well. hacking cough and generally grumpy. Will not leave my mum alone, no cuddles for me but screams when he can't see her

Planning on Twycross Zoo tomorrow or perhaps Hatton but my car has to go back to the garage, mum or dad has to take my Nan to the Dr's and they've lent one of their cars out to a neighbour so unless we can 'borrow' it back for an hour (to get Nan to the Dr's) we won't be going anywhere.

I keep thinking it's Friday...

PhoenixGirl · 12/04/2007 21:30

Hi,

Lew is ok in himself its just the sh*t that's bad. Thanks csws i've never heard of the BRAT diet. I called for some bananas on my way home from work today so i'll try them tomorrow and i'm assuming dry toast? Shouldn't i be giving him milk then cos thats really all he will have.

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/04/2007 22:15

I think that the problem with milk is that they can often develop a temporary milk intolerance after a stomach bug. I'm not sure whether docs advise to avoid or not (obv not an issue here, as my breastmilk is dairy free ). If in doubt, you could perhaps get some rice milk to try him with I suppose, but if you do, then get the one with added calcium.

ChasingRabbits · 12/04/2007 22:17

with ds1 i used to dilute his milk (start off 4/1, then 2/1 then 1/1) when he was sick, gave him the fluids but seemed to stay down more.

PhoenixGirl · 12/04/2007 22:26

i know nothing do i?

I'll see what state he wakes up in in the morning and decide what to give him, either milk or banana and water.

I'm off to bed now goodnight anyone who's around (and everyone who isn't)

Jelley · 12/04/2007 23:05

I'm up
Yes to dry toast. Agree clear fluids are best. He can cope without milk for a day or so, and it will give his tummy time to recover, as long as he takes water.

I just do a random selection of c, s, w but rarely notice as I read so quickly. I always have to go back and look for the mistakes when they have been pointed out.

My garden is long and thinand the fence is all down one of the long sides. I will get a bit of sun on one side, but much less than I would like. It feels really enclosed. When we moved here the nieghboursfor two or three houses on either side had low fences and it felt really open. Now it is alot more shut in and small feeling.

I'll get over it.

mustrunmore · 13/04/2007 09:04

You can swop for our huge gap in the fence

I'm suprised how little I get csws wrong, given that the rest of my typing is so bad!!

Just got very confused reading 'I keep thinking its Friday', until I realised I hadnt been on here last night so was reading to catch up

csws, that almost read like you'd have prefered ds1 here for your entire visit Personally, I think it worked out very well! Will have to have next doors 2 boys over today to reciprocate though. At least it'll entertain ds1 while my friend and baby comes (ooo, its like Groundhog day here...)

Right, I'm off as ds1 is playing up already. He's being a right pain lately! Took till 9pm to get him to bad again last night

mustrunmore · 13/04/2007 09:04

bed, that should say!

2boysmacca · 13/04/2007 09:17

From 9pm ds2 woke every 40 minutes. At 6 my mum cam and took him from me and I slept until 7.30. came downstairs and both boys had been fed but just toast . Took car into garage, ran back (1 mile in 5 minutes)collapsed, had a cup of tea and put ds2 back to bed.

Can't remember if I've already said this but the little monkey just wants my mum. He won't leave her alone and cries if she goes out of the room. In some ways it's nice but in another it's a pain in the a*se!

Know what you mean with the fence Jel. My inlaws have a tiny tiny garden and they ahve just removed the fence panels and put lower ones in, it amkes such a difference. less enclosed, more light. I think you are within your rights to actually complain, could you be bothered??

Pg I was told that dairy actually feeds the bug which is why they tell you to avoid it. You can give friendly yoghurt though.

Going to have a shower now.....

Chloe55 · 13/04/2007 09:24

Having a nightmare! Ds goes to nursery on wed and fri whilst I work and my friend has him on thurs for me, however, she has just tols me she is moving to Ibiza!!!! I can't get him in his nursery on thur as it is full and I am really reluctant to have a childminder and I chose his current nursery coz it was the best in the area, I don't want to put him in another even if it is for a day Will also be a pain in the arse because the rest are not in walking distance, I do drive so it isn't too much of a problem but annoying all the same.

PhoenixGirl · 13/04/2007 10:00

Morning

Lewis is on his 3rd banana and has had 2 cups of water. No milk. He's had 3 nappy changes since 8am and 1 shower down after a leaky nappy so its still all fun here. dh is at work til 7pm and i'm meant to be at work too but have rung in sick cos i don't really want my mum to have him like he is and tbh i don't feel 100% myself

2boysmacca · 13/04/2007 16:24

Poorly baby here too. Having to take ds2 to the Dr's at 5pm. I can't get his temperature down at all and he's very chesty. I hate taking them to the Dr's especially when it's not even your own GP!

Zoo was good. We spent 2 hours watching the elephants! I remember now why I don't like zoo's, I hate seeing the animals locked up like that, especially when you've seen most of them in their own habitat

Jelley · 13/04/2007 17:17

Everyone is sick . DS has a cold and is very clingy today but at least I'm not having the nappy issues some of you are.

I have an 18" strip of grass in daylight in my garden and it is only 5pm

Jelley · 13/04/2007 17:19

I have no right to complain. It is on her property and they can put in anything up to 6 foot 6 with out permission.

2boysmacca · 13/04/2007 19:23

Still, it's ratehr unfair of them

Poorly boy here. Dr took temp of 40 he has an ear infection and chest infection. He has given him antibiotics and an inhaler for his chest. He has eaten nothing all day, apart from 4 fromage frais. Looks like another crap night ahead. Always happens when dh isn't around

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2007 19:51

Is dh not at your parents with you then macca? Hope the antibiotics work their magic quickly.

That is pants Jelley - are you friends with the neighbours?

Aargh for childcare nightmare Chloe. Sure I can't suggest anything you haven't already thought of.

Good day here with toddlers this morning and NCT friends round this afternoon for bbq. Wore dd out enough that we had to put her to bed at 7:30 instead of 8.

Busy day tomorrow too. Dh going to pick up new car in the morning, whilst I stay here with dd, then we're off to a family party in Bracknell in the afternoon, with lots of family who haven't met dd yet. Taking advantage of the extra seats in the new car straight away and taking the in-laws with us too.

Jelley · 13/04/2007 20:03

macca

I've only met the woman a couple of times. She moved in a couple of months ago but never seems to be there. It's a handyman doing all the work. I wasn't impressed that I just looked up from my sitting room yesterday to see him in my garden pulling down the old fence

Jelley · 13/04/2007 20:03

2boysmacca · 13/04/2007 20:44

That's totally off!!!

CSWS no dh isn't here. When I come to my folks he tends to use the opportunity to stay at his folks and commute the 15 mins it takes from there rather than the 2 hours from home! He's out with our friends tonight so taking an even bigger opportunity! late night and a lie in He's coming on the train tomorrow (Damewashaolt - pickign him up from your neck of the woods)

Just had to kill a load of ants. Traced them back to their nest and splatted them

KelBelle · 13/04/2007 21:20

Hope all the poorly babies get better soon

DS been ok today, he has another tooth so lots of dribble!! He spent the morning at PIL then we just did bits and bobs this afternoon.

Had my hair cut into a long bob today but not too keen at the moment, think once I do it myself it will look better otherwise it will be in a ponytail for the next few months whilst it grows!!!!

Had a row with DH this morning too, he is now accusing me of ruining our marriage because I threw him out - never mind him snogging another woman and then going out for the day with her and lying to me I got upset which I didnt want to, said he couldnt have hurt me more if he had punched me hard in the face to which he replied "I wish I had" Great eh, 9 years of being together and he wished he had wacked me one. He also said the house was a state when he came round the other day but I'd like to see him cope with being a single parent, it wasnt that bad anyway. I'm so annoyed, DS is fed, clean and happy and if the housework gets left then it just has to wait. So basically, I have a dirty house, I ruined our marriage and have driven DH to want to punch me!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2007 21:42

Ooh I'd have gone out with a pitchfork and pointed out whose garden he was in Jelley .

Hate ants. We had a load in the conservatory and living room last weekend - touch wood none this week.

What a pile of crap Kel . Think I would have punched him! Who cares about the state of your house - mine is always a mess - I like to think of it as building up dd's immunity .

Oh shit, screaming from upstairs . Hoping it's not because she nicked a tiny bit of something with milk in this afternoon. Could just be teething, so might have to go and administer nurofen.

Jelley · 13/04/2007 21:45

Kel. It sounds like he is feeling guilty and redirecting it to you. Assuming the house isn't dangerous, it really isn't any of his business any more if you chose to spend time wih ds rather than mop floors is it?

Jelley · 13/04/2007 21:45

Jelley · 13/04/2007 21:48

I'm waiting for the flying ants that appear on my doorstep every year to come back. I hate them too.

I did go out and complain that I wasn't told he was going to do it, and told him it had to be child safe by today (I had lots of children round, mostly inside as the weather wasn't as good as I was hoping though), and to be fair he did stay very late last night and have it done by lunch time today. No point complaining to him though. He just does what he's paid for I think she should have spoken to me.
