@Walkerbean16 Also, if she's regularly finishing her bottle just offer an ounce more the next time (that's what our HV said). Hope that helps

1004Rise · 23/08/2017 16:34

Does that amount still apply if you're giving a bottle of breast milk, I've been pumping and storing but I have no idea how much she needs in a bottle instead of me Confused

Barnes79 · 23/08/2017 16:59

@1004Rise I think it applies to food in general as I'm bf with ff top ups and the Doctor was talking about feeding in general.

Walkerbean16 · 23/08/2017 17:09

Thats fantastic thank you so much @barnes. She seems to be doing ok then :)

You wouldn't think she was a third baby as i don't have a clue! I couldn't get the other two off bf!

ClaireSunflower · 23/08/2017 17:16

@Walkerbean16 that sounds plenty to me. My little one is on 7oz every 3 hours roughly in the day then sleeps from about 8pm-7am with no feeds, so has about 5-6 bottles a day. He is on 50th centile and was 15lb5 at 10 weeks. He's now 13 weeks but hasn't been weighed since.

1004Rise · 23/08/2017 17:25

@Barnes79 thanks that makes sense, because I've been very lucky bfing and found it easy I'm now finding it hard to work out how to do bottles so other people can look after her for more than an hour BlushConfused

CoxsOrangePippin · 23/08/2017 19:38

You guys with bottles, how did you get them to drink so much? I find it hard to get Pippin to have more than 4-5oz (bottle) or 10-15 mins (breast), which means he wants to feed frequently. He is 13wks and about 5.5kg (or he was when weighed two weeks ago)

EsmesBees · 23/08/2017 20:29

I was wondering the sameCox. Baby bees has one bottle a day and will only drink about 100ml

ClaireSunflower · 23/08/2017 20:46

@CoxsOrangePippin & @EsmesBees sorry I have no advice as my boy just drains bottles. I only offer 7oz but I imagine he would have much more if I let him. Maybe breastfed babies just prefer being on the boob and don't drink as much from a bottle?

Walkerbean16 · 23/08/2017 22:35

@coxs, ive been ebf until monday when i was admitted into hospital and had no option other than to give her a bottle and thats just what she took! Ive never bottle fed before, my older two were breastfed until they were nearly 2 Blush so i havnt got a clue what im doing. She seems to like the bottle so im not sure wether to try and restart fèeding again after the antibiotics?!

Rabbitykins55 · 24/08/2017 08:48

If I join the Facebook group will it show up on my profile or is it secret? I'm having some family boundary issues and can't be bothered with loads of questions and comments from family about it! 🙄

uptown8617 · 24/08/2017 09:30

I read on Kellymom that the average breasted baby is on around 25oz a day so I guess this is different to formula fed babies.

1004Rise · 24/08/2017 11:16

@Rabbitykins55 totally secret, I've put nothing baby related in my "public " Facebook so like you I didn't want anything showing upGrin

Rabbitykins55 · 24/08/2017 11:29

@1004Rise perfect thank you! I'll join later! 😁

1004Rise · 27/08/2017 01:52

Just saw the first thread for May 2018 babies pop up on active.... hard to believe that was us this time last year ShockGrin

BouncingBlueberry · 27/08/2017 09:41

Hi guys need some advice. Jacob is a long baby. So long that in his pushchair he no longer fits comfortably in the bassinet bit. Will I be ok converting it to a buggy? The buggy part reclines flat and is a Silver Cross Pioneer if that helps at all.

Greylilypad · 27/08/2017 09:54

If it reclines flat, that is all that matters. So should be fine.

EsmesBees · 27/08/2017 12:44

Eeeek rise! Doesn't feel like a year

Cantthinkofaname123 · 27/08/2017 22:46

Totally forgot I'd posted here how do I joint the FB group?

savagehk · 28/08/2017 17:59

Walkerbean16 · 29/08/2017 13:07

Its gone so quiet on here Sad hope you are all well x

jennymac31 · 29/08/2017 16:02

@walkerbean16 - I think people having been using the Facebook page to post updates.

savagehk · 29/08/2017 22:25

Hi walker :) Yep, FB page is active.

I'm doing OK. Baby Savage has just really started looking around and taking everything in, last few days really. She's now really much more interactive. She's also filling out even more!

4yo came down with a stomach bug last Monday, passed it onto me, passed it onto Baby Savage, but we're all now on the mend it seems.

1004Rise · 30/08/2017 20:51

@Walkerbean16 I'm afraid I too gave in and moved to Facebook Blush

How did the ff go? Have you finished your antibiotics now and did you manage to go back to bf?

Baby Rise had her first cold this week, she's managed it better than me Confused I feel miserable and she's still all happy smiles!

Walkerbean16 · 03/09/2017 10:57

@1004rise

I have finished my antibiotics thankfully feeling much better! Im still breastfeeding occasionally but she refuses most of the time so she is on formula pretty much all the time but she sleeps from 8.30 - 6am has a breast feed then goes back to sleep for and hour or 2! She is so so different to my other two who refused bottles and didnt sleep through until they were 2!

Cant wait to get back into the school routine this week, my oldest is going into year 6 and dd1 is going into year 3! She is excited about being in juniors but she still feels like my baby Sad she is august born so the very youngest in her year she has just turned 7.

Hope everyone is well! Isabelle is 3 months today Grin x
