Ooo could I now ask for some recommendations in the UK? Somewhere not too south (I'm in Scotland)

For the journey obviously, not because I dislike the south!

Horrible isn't it NameChange30 really unsettled me. Think I may well go by train for next long journey.

Haha purple we went to Anglesey north Wales. Gorgeous scenery and lots to do for kids. A seven hour drive for us from the south coast though Confused

NameChange30 · 26/08/2017 21:29

Ooh I love Scotland (the parts I've visited, anyway!) Whereabouts are you? If I were you I'd go somewhere in Scotland but you might want more of a change?
We had a lovely family holiday in Northumberland when I was a child. Can't remember exactly where though I'm afraid!

MotherofA · 26/08/2017 23:01

Wow purple you are in Scotland?! My friend has just been at the Edinburgh fringe and loved it x

purpleviolet1 · 26/08/2017 23:30

I'm in Edinburgh Grin although haven't visited the fringe yet.....

Carolann8584 · 27/08/2017 09:47

Ladies who have moved their LOs into their own rooms, how did you do it? Did you start with naps them move on to nights?

MotherofA · 27/08/2017 10:32

How are you Carol ? You have been quiet .

Carolann8584 · 27/08/2017 11:10

I'm ok Thanks, you?

We have my DSC for a week. We are on day 3 so in full swing of keeping them entertained while trying to keep DDs routine going. She's had trouble with teething recently, still not having full feeds. So far today she's had 6oz over 2 feeds.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2017 11:15

We moved dd when we came back from Devon as she kept walloping self on Moses basket / daddy is 6f4 and dd is long

That was beg of July / she was about 15w I think

Earlier then I wanted as wasn't 6mths - still isn't lol - but have camera and angel and tbh once in own cot and bedroom she then started sleeping through the night

Think she was disturbing herself by stretching and wallooping herself so then did 7/11 and df then 11/730 and by 18w refused df and sleeps 7-730 and has done ever since - which works out well as I've gone back to working nights so put her to bed. Have dinner with df / go to work and come home and wake dd up

Didn't start with naps. Just went straight in cot from Moses basket and as had space settled well

purpleviolet1 · 27/08/2017 13:18

Carol I put DS in cot to play during day a couple of times and did maybe 3 or 4 naps in there on different days and then just went for it. He settled really well. I stayed with him until he slept for first 2/3 days (whereas I could put him in Moses to nod off himself) as he decided he liked me to be beside him in cot for any awake periods. After that though he loved it! I think they just need to be made to feel secure initially and once they are happy that you will be close by they are good. Good luck!

MotherofA · 27/08/2017 13:23

Ah I definitely would ! It is on my list of places to see for sure ! Thanks purple !

Ah Carol it's hard work isn't it! Hope it's going ok .

We don't have enough bedrooms in this house so DD will be in with us a long time while we house hunt . Hard as we need 4 beds because of SC's .

Carolann8584 · 27/08/2017 13:53

Ok thanks, I take her in there to get dressed in the morning and ready for bed at night as all of her things are in there now, think she's getting used to it.

coupester · 27/08/2017 15:13

We kept all of DS's stuff in his room right from start so always got him changed in there. We sometimes put him in there for naps but he hardly ever has those!

We live in a chalet bungalow and sons bedroom is downstairs, so initially we'd put him in there after his last bottle and then take him upstairs with us when we went to bed. Once he rolled over we started putting him in his own room all night and he's been absolutely fine.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2017 16:57

We did change nappies at night in her room and feed in chair etc so guess she saw and got used to her room iyswim

Carolann8584 · 28/08/2017 07:54

What a night,

OH was out. DD is usually good at bedtime but think her teeth and the heat made her uncomfortable and fussy. OH and extra hungry! 12oz in 2 hours. Screaming for a bit being overtired. DSS who has asthma but no inhaler couldn't breathe properly couldn't stop coughing. Finally got DD to sleep but DSS was awake for about half an hour every hour coughing until about 4am! DD wake for her df!! At 11(another5oz) but went straight back to sleep til 4 when she woke for another 5oz. Then woke again at 5:30 but I convinced her to go back to sleep and she's still sleeping.

OH got home around 4 ( not his fault, he went to Leeds festival for the day and they didn't unlock the car park he was in until 1am-ish)

So there were 4 out of the 5 of us awake around 4am. I feel a pj day coming on.

Carolann8584 · 28/08/2017 07:55

That should be oh and hungry not OH (other half) lol

MotherofA · 28/08/2017 08:01

You poor thing Carol 😢😴

purpleviolet1 · 28/08/2017 08:16

Oh no carol - hope you manage to get some rest today! Must have been something in the water - DS went to sleep beautifully (didn't get a peep he just settled in and got comfortable Grin) but he woke twice in the night and both times took an hour to settle. I think his teeth were bothering him so I gave him some nurofen eventually but kicking myself for not giving it earlier. Anyway he went back to sleep for the second time at 4.30am and didn't wake at 7am. I broke the golden rule and just let him sleep until 8 Blush I was so tired I could not be bothered getting up myself .....

coupester · 28/08/2017 09:37

Oh @Carolann8584 , I'm so sorry you've had such a tough night! I hope you all get some rest today.

DS has developed a habit of making loud noises in his sleep around 4:30/5:30am. He doesn't seem to be awake but he cries out a few times and is restless. No idea what that's about but eventually he settles again and goes back to sleeping peacefully!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2017 10:09
