When DS wakes up early I always feed him in the hope that he'll then sleep a bit longer and it usually works! If not DH gets up with him so I can get a bit more sleep Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/08/2017 13:23

yes feed at 5am or whatever time she wakes, she cant quite make it to 630/7

ilimit to 2/3oz anytime after 430/5 so will take a good feed at next feed

this is a little snack iyswim

Carolann8584 · 07/08/2017 13:56

Will give her a snack tomorrow and see.

Just to be clear I don't just leave her crying for food after the first cry I give her her dummy but if she wakes after that she just baby babbles etc.

Still not taking a full feed even on 4 hour feeds. Today she had just over 4oz at 6:30 Then 5oz at 10:30

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/08/2017 20:02

What's her weight?

Rough guide is 2/2.5 oz per lb of body weight

So say baby is 16lbs- rough guide would be 32/40oz a day divided in feeds - of say 5 a day is 6.5oz

Carolann8584 · 07/08/2017 20:31

Last weighed at 4 months she was 14lb 5oz that was a couple of weeks ago

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/08/2017 23:18

Dd wasnt always a breakfast milky baby when had df /or snack 4:5am but sincestopping both she literally inhales a feed in minutes 😂

Piglet of a daughter 👶🏼💓

MotherofA · 07/08/2017 23:54

Has anyone used a sling / carrier often ? I didn't buy one as I thought I wouldn't use it / bit expensive. Sometimes though I need to get stuff done and baby needs me too .

Carolann8584 · 08/08/2017 00:22

We have a carrier. Haven't used it much. DD is happy as long as she can see me so I've I need to do something like tidy the kitchen or hang washing out etc I just put her in her bouncer so she can watch me. Tried doing with the carrier on but I tend to still hold her with one hand, I think it's s natural reaction to having her on me

NameChange30 · 08/08/2017 05:40

Mother
We have an Ergobaby but I don't use it around the house much. Prefer to put DS in his bouncer or on his play mat - or just get on with things when he naps. The Ergobaby has been very useful though for things like getting the train and tube (much more practical than a pushchair) and going to the beach! Smile

Carolann8584 · 08/08/2017 07:40

Well DD woke at 2:30 for a feed, df at 11 but thought ok maybe if she has this she will last past 5. She had 3oz at 2:30 still woke at 5:30 And had 2oz. No interest in her breakfast just pushes bottle way

Tried again with breakfast at 8. Had all but half and oz 💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺

purpleviolet1 · 08/08/2017 09:43

That's great carol!

Ds doing a similar thing - not feeding properly during the day and at night crying when dummy pops out. Not sure if it's just the dummy or if he is hungry. Spoke to health visitor and think we are going to go cold turkey with the dummy. Literally every 15mins I was getting up last night. I have tried offering a feed and he gulps it down but still does the dummy thing.

Ok thanks guys , don't think I'll bother then !

Hugh I do too ! It's about the only thing that distracts her for long enough for me to start dinner / Hoover etc .

I do what I can when she sleeps also but that's not always enough as there's just so much to do in this house ! X

MotherofA · 08/08/2017 09:59

We have a jumparoo , bouncer and play mats but DD only lasts a reasonable time in the bouncer really ! Hope I don't make her too demanding !

NameChange30 · 08/08/2017 09:59

I don't get much done either!
I try to just accept it but get very frustrated sometimes.

MotherofA · 08/08/2017 10:01

Me too especially when MIL slagging off other DIL for not hoovering under beds I haven't done that since early pregnancy !! Struggle to get bloody Hoover round full stop !

purpleviolet1 · 08/08/2017 10:25

DS gets hysterical with the hoover unless someone is with him giving him lots of smiles/ encouragement in a different room...the other day he started crying as soon as I got it out the cupboard!

Right I've been in touch with the sleep lady and have an appt later today. I just don't have the confidence to take away the dummy / manage the crying during the night. I need a plan of action and then I'll be able to execute it.

MotherofA · 08/08/2017 10:37

I wouldn't worry about taking away the dummy any time soon purple . Good luck Smile

Carolann8584 · 08/08/2017 12:22

DD just had 2nd jabs. Come home had feed at 11:45 And sound asleep by 12! She only had 30 min nap this morning and jabs have just wiped her out. Oh she had 5.5oz again Grin

purple
Hope the appointment is helpful. Sounds like you're going through a difficult time atm Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/08/2017 17:02

I would get rid of the dummy @purple. It's causing more disrupt then comfort. Take few days tops (passes gin)

2mth jabs? Did you start late ? We had our last lot the other week and she was miserable high temp and horrible hearing her cry :(

Was wondering ages of us all

Maybe copy and paste

Baby blondes 28 march - 4.5mth /19w today

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/08/2017 17:04

And dd throws the most almighty strops over toys

SHEcan grasp them but then chucks them or can't get angle in her mouth and has a paddy

Only thing she really likes is chomping on my finger - hard gums bless her

NameChange30 · 08/08/2017 17:05

Baby NC, boy, born 10th March, will be 5 months on Thursday! That's 22 weeks I think although I've stopped counting in weeks. The time is going so fast!
