Well apparently not as he hasn't kissed me since, lol.

I investigated and it's a new girl called Kayleigh rather than Lily. He can't say it properly. She's just started in the younger room and I guess is kissing him a fair bit. I asked him for a kiss the other day and he refused so hey ho. That one kiss was lovely! Hmm

He was very poorly yesterday - that sort of burning temp where they are all listless and don't eat anything. He went to bed at 6.15 as he couldn't keep his eyes open. It was like handling dynamite all day. We cuddled up and watched the Minions movie (which I could recite at this stage). He's a bit better today but it's a bank holiday here so everything is closed and there's nothing to do and nowhere to go. I never thought I'd say this but I dread long weekends now!

No favouritism here at the moment. He went through that a year ago and it was grim for me so you have my sympathy. It makes you feel like shit no matter how mature you try to be.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 05/06/2017 16:56

Well this rascal its certainly testing the boundaries we ditched getting new shjoes and I carried a toddler screaming from shop and he will have to wear his too small shoes until I brave again or order online the same frugging doodles he has now in next 20 gazillion sizes so I never have to shoe shop again!

On the other hand he offers kisses v freely.

His speech is so amazing he repeats everything and has an opinion on everything and apparently something this morning was impossible!

Ds1 was so easy never did time out but ds2 is a frequent visitor to the mat in the utility room usually for hitting

HalfStar · 05/06/2017 22:10

Impossible! That's so cute and impressive east

I'm still the favourite with dd2 though i do frequently get the same word for word 'no I talking to daddy!' retort as happy. Dh is massively the favourite with dd1 although funny enough in the middle of the night I'm usually the one she consults first Hmm

Dd2 has always been a major cuddler, used to drive me a bit cracked when she was such a velcro baby and almost too attached, but of course it's completely delightful now. It's interesting seeing the personalities emerge isn't it? Dd2 is more fiery and assertive than dd1.

I love hearing about the little friends from nursery as dd tends to call them by their first name+surname all run together in one word. Makes it extra cute for some reason!

Bank holiday here too, cold and windy. We did gardening for ages then said fuck it and went to soft play. It was a great decision as it was v quiet and easy to get a seat to sit and drink tea from while they tired themselves out.

I feel like DD has made another leap in the last couple of weeks, DP has noticed it too, especially in language. I made her a smoothie this morning and spilled a bit on my shirt just before we left so ran upstairs to change, when we were leaving I was picking up 3 bags plus her lunch and coat and asked if she was going to carry something to which she said ‘No thank you, I have to carry my smoothie so you don’t spill it’ I mean, aside from being bloody cheeky the inflection and tone was so grown up and either she had genuinely decided she should carry it now since I might spill it or she was smart enough to use that as an excuse to NOT carry anything else.

We are just getting into her deciding what she wears, one day this week she wore jeans, shirt and cardigan but with a fairy princess dress over the top and a leopard print scarf (mine) round her neck. So far shoes are ok though, she would live in crocs if I let her. M&S have come up trumps again, I got an unworn pair of silver leather sandals for £4 on ebay and they are a great fit. She doesn’t seem to have huge growth spurts in her feet, I check all the time and the growth is slow and steady so far.

anna another minions fan here, we watched it over and over through the Christmas break and she regularly comes back to it between fleeting favourites Shrek, Incredibles and Monsters Inc.

Well done! We had two days with nothing at all done on the potty so gave up for a few weeks. She is at least telling me now when she does a wee which she previously wasn't.

ladydolly · 11/06/2017 10:45

Great stuff MrsA!!

Annarose2014 · 11/06/2017 13:05

Well done!

DS has started to hide to do a poo.

Yesterday we went into a book shop for childrens story time. It was packed with kids and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Suddenly he hops up and says Come Mammy and led me to a remote corner of the bookshop. "Do you want to do a poo?" "No" Absolutely adamant. Then he crouched behind an enormous leather armchair. "Are you doing a poo?" "No"

He sat back there for ages and ages. I knew it was a poo. Then eventually he emerged "HOME NOW!" but to my horror he started walking funny and refused to get into the buggy and I realised oh god it must be all down the inside of his trousers! Noooooo! Had I brought a nappy bag? Had I fuck.

So we had to go to Boots, him waddling all the way, buy a packet of nappies and a packet of wipes, go into their changing room and strip him down completely, dump destroyed vest, clean down trousers as much as possible, and get him home. Nightmare! I used half a packet of wipes!

I was shattered! So poo is still a problem here. We are bringing him into the toilet with us when we go, and we change his nappy in there too, but I think we're still a long way off. He still continues to have his 6am poos too.

During the day he runs into the playroom to poo behind the sofa. It's a bit of a puzzler how to tackle it tbh.

Strawberryfield12 · 12/06/2017 19:37

Well done MrsA! Not much of a progress with DD so far, I think she realises when she does stuff, but it almost feels like she has a reaction to the thought of going to the potty. I even offered her to give chocolate buttons if she goes on potty. She will sit there, but nothing comes out. Since she likes fairies and music I ended up ordering a musical potty with fairies. Haha, I bet it won't do the trick!
On the same theme, we have been talking a lot about not doing poo in the pants, pants being yucky etc. to change her mindset. Result? She now things wheels on the bus and when it should be "mummy on the bus goes shshsh", she sings "mummy on the bus does poo, poo, poo, poo". If I protest about not pooing on the bus, she gives me the face "yes, yes woman you do!" and repeats the same few more times. I don't think I will venture bus with her any time soon, just in case she decide to sing.

We went to In the night garden live show on Friday. She loved it, had booked also meet the character with Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle. I think it was Happy telling about the show on here. So - many thanks!

I think DD might have finally learned to sleep properly. Unless she doesn't feel well, she goes through the night without waking. She likes shouting, talking and laughing in the sleep, which isn't great, but still amazing. She would even sleep in until 8am on weekends. Yesterday she dropped the nap and there was no sign of her being tired until 9pm. Usually she would be yawning her head off at 7pm without a nap.

ladydolly · 12/06/2017 20:26

Those with poo challenges, we beat ours (to be clear, when I say ours, I mean hers Grin) by putting a nappy in the potty. She happily pooed on that and has the hang of it now. If fact she uses the loo rather than a potty most of the time.

moggle · 12/06/2017 20:31

Talking about pooing your pants, we discovered today that I am pregnant with twins. Holy fuck! Only 7wks so still early days. Fourth time lucky!! Although it's going to take a while to get our heads round it, this definitely wasn't in the plan... we're on our knees financially after four cycles of IVF and now need a new car, buggy plus one more of everything we already have!

Strawberryfield12 · 12/06/2017 20:59

Ah moggle, thats quite some news! Congratulations! double happy for you Grin

ladydolly · 12/06/2017 21:23

Fucking hell moggle the excitement!

happypotamus · 17/06/2017 15:07

Congratulations moggle that's great news though will take some getting used to.

It is very hot and sunny here today. DH went to panic buy a paddling pool this morning, and this afternoon I got to sit in the sun and even read a couple of pages of a book while DDs played in it. I could not have done any housework or anything useful as I had to supervise them by the pool. Great! I shall hate this weather tomorrow when I have to work nights and try to sleep in the days though.

happypotamus · 17/06/2017 22:15

DD is bizarrely obsessed with talking about birthdays and birthday parties. Several times a day she will say 'it my birthday later,' then start talking about her party, which nursery friends will come and party bags with bubbles in! She has never been to the party of someone her age though, only DD1's and her cousin's and she has been dragged along to DD1's friends' parties but none of these were very recent. I am hoping she gets over this in the next couple of months as I don't want to organise a party with party bags for 3 year olds. Strange child!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/06/2017 20:33

Congratulations moggle

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/06/2017 20:34

Hooray I can post again has must timed out on me all week tryi g to post perhaps I type too much

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 19/06/2017 07:59

How did fathers day go for everyone.

The boys got DH socks, marvel belt, a cookie lolly and a peppa pig daddy guide book and then we got tickets for Alton towers

Had great day at Alton towers ds2 loved it (went last July but doesn't remember) ds1 at nearly 7 is getting bit big for cbeebies bit and isn't quite 1.2m for the big rides could do some which ds2 cpukld as well as have to be 90cm with an adult, the 2 bigger rides in cbeebies (octonauts & go jetter) were broken which was disappointing.

Oh and the monorail back to car had broken so 15min walk DH gave ds1 puggy back and thankfully we had the pushchair

ladydolly · 19/06/2017 08:15

happy same here!! I think sparked by her bff at the childminders having his birthday this week but many unrelated discussions about birthdays, her birthday, what it means (Do I have to go to bed because it's my birthday soon?). BFF had a party yesterday, it was great, they covered their garden with a massive tarpaulin and then set up blankets, paddling pool, mini bouncy castle, ball pit underneath and the kids just freestyled! It was so relaxed. DD stripped down to nothing and refused to even put pants on, lucky it was so relaxed! Most of the other kids followed her lead. It felt like my 80's childhood and was definitely easy on me, I got to just sit in the sun and chat with the other parents!

For father's day DP got a massive hangover. Not from DD obviously but it did actually rule him out of the days activities but I think he liked the peppa pig card and framed print of his team's football ground.

On Saturday we took DD punting, great fun she loved trailing her hands in the water and spotting the ducks and it was glorious weather. I love this weather, puts me in a great mood!

Moggle how are you feeling? I know it's early but double the hormones!!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 20/06/2017 19:59

The poor boy has ended up with nasty fat lip at nursery ran into the gazebo post at nursery this morning dosed up on pain killers and asleep unlike last night running around til 10pm little buvgfer shit me up came out loo downstairs and there he was a bottom of stairs had got down in full sleeping bag proceeded to take said sleeping bag off and get on sofa!!

Eldest on other hand straight to bed 7/30pm asleep in 5mina full PJs and a duvet!!

happypotamus · 22/06/2017 21:11

eastmids hope DS is ok.

DDs gave DH a t-shirt and a book for Father's Day. I wasn't very inspired. Late last week he requested some sort of wrench. I asked where I could get that from within a couple of days as I don't even know what it is but he never got back to me. He managed to spend a bit of time lying in the sun in peace and quiet while DDs were inside (lucky him!), but I went to work a night shift and left him to get DDs to bed in the heat.
DD2 has been so overtired and overheated these past few evenings that bedtime has been terrible with hysterical screaming and even longer than usual waiting for her to fall asleep. Thankfully it is much more reasonable temperature tonight and no thunderstorms yet.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 23/06/2017 07:14

Happy nights have been nightmare here ds2 has slept eventually but anywhere but own bed!! Last night though went to sleep on my bed cooler there then moved to own room and slept all night til 6.30am so he had good sleep from 7 hadn't been going to sleep til 10pm then up in night and from 5am.

His lip looks !much better has big scab on outside where tooth punctured it but is OK keeps saying take it off about scab.
