Congratulations to you on Matthew and Henry! Flowers

DS is being a RIGHT PAIN IN THE ARSE! He has definitely gone full Threenager. It's so tedious. "Mammy, I need you" "I need to....." "BUT I NEED IT!"

Honestly if you took the word need out of his vocabulary he'd have nothing to say. Hmm

He has a virus all weekend which has made it worse. He won't let me out of his sight and God forbid I want to do a poo on my own! I'm upstairs right now and fully expect to be called any second.

Oh and the tantrums over meals! We dread meals now, seriously. It's all control, control, control. He wants to be the boss of everything and everyone.

So tiresome!!!

ladydolly · 05/02/2018 08:57

Congratulations Moggle!! you sound very happy :) Glad it's all going well for you.

I wish I hadn't gone down the dressing up route, we had to bring in a rule about no princess dresses at nursery )(I blamed the playworkers and said it was a nursery rule)

Annarose in our house it's 'but I want it??' - like she is so surprised that that isnt' enough to get her whatever she wants!!

I'm pregnant again, just 5 weeks, hoping this one sticks, waiting for an early scan before I uncross my fingers.

Annarose2014 · 05/02/2018 09:47

Congratulations! Crossing everything for you!

Strawberryfield12 · 05/02/2018 21:37

Congratulations ladydolly!

HalfStar · 07/02/2018 17:58

Congratulations ladydolly. Lovely to hear this and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

And OMG moggle congratulations to you! Great names -gosh it sounds like an absolute dream twin birth. So what's it like feeding twins, are you breastfeeding? If so I can't really imagine where you get to fit in sleep - but am so pleased to hear that they sleep between feeds! (Do you think they could send some of that vibe to my unborn...)

I'm almost 36 weeks and so, so over it. Fielding comments every single bloody morning about my due date and getting sympathetic/appalled faces like this -> Confused when I mention it's still a few weeks away. YES I'm enormous, I get it.

Anyway finished work now and so pleased to be off with a few weeks to spare. We all (except dd1) had evil flu a few weeks ago and I think I still need a bit of time out.

Having said that DD1 is currently pale and says has sore tummy and there is a vomiting bug going around her school Hmm

Anna I ordered Hippychick brand waterproof sheets from Amazon in the end. Seemed to get the best reviews on MN. I'll report back.

DD2 is mostly great these days, getting a bit bolshier and cheekier obv. (what with being 3) but no major tantrums yet. (I'm convinced the DC3 will be a massive tantrummer.) She has become ultra clingy and obsessed with DH though. It must be some kind of anticipation of the new baby she knows she'll only have one parent for a while

Hope everyone's doing well.

ladydolly · 22/03/2018 12:11

So halfstar, do you have news for us??

I'm still pregnant at 12 weeks - hurrah! Will go public after another scan next week. Just coming out of the sickness stage (touches wood).

DD is still great fun, she's not really a tantrumer (thank god!) but her manipulation skills are first class and she has me wrapped round her little finger.

Strawberryfield12 · 22/03/2018 13:43

It's been a while...

I am very happy for you Ladydolly, fingers crossed for the scan!

DD has definitely calmed down with the tantrums and this year so far is a pure love. So amazing that we can actually discuss things, negotiate and agree on things. For once I actually properly enjoy going to places and doing things with her.

At the beginning of the year I decided I had enough of her having milk for the night, cleared her cupboard of the bottles and left present and a letter from "bottle fairy". She just went with the flow and haven't looked back. DD used to drink a LOT of milk, but since bottles are gone she isn't particularly into it anymore. Also she has started to eat more of all sorts and sleeps much better than myself (I've got cold and keep waking up from coughing during the night). I will probably jinx it now, but about last 6 weeks she hasn't woken up not once during the night. How cool is that?!

moggle · 23/03/2018 13:13

That all sounds lovely strawberry! I must admit having sailed through the twos with DD she is definitely a threenager now. SO many strops and tears it’s so tiring! Really don’t know the best way to handle it as the smallest thing can set her off. Thank god though in the past few weeks she’s stopped having so many toilet accidents and isn’t waking as much in the night.
Her nursery has changed how they implement the free hours again so we’re going to move DD to a preschool in September, as I’m not going back to work, or at least not to the same place. She does love her nursery but I think she’ll be fine in the new setting too, and I’m hopign the shorter days will suit her better.
The twins are grand, one especially is a dream baby!! The other one wants to be a PFB though I think, he just wants to be cuddled all the time and it just isn’t possible! Poor boy :-)
Great news ladydolly, hope the scan goes well!
And halfstar look forward to hearing your news when you get a spare five seconds!

HalfStar · 27/03/2018 17:48

Hi! It's been ages. Yes I do have news, dd3 arrived 8th March Smile all good. Enjoyed the last couple of weeks with dh off, back to reality now. So far she's feeding a LOT but also doing stretches of up to 4 hours at night- didn't get that with dd2 until she was about 12 months if even! I feel like colicky/refluxy times will kick in soon though as she's been unsettled last couple of days.

So far 2-3 much less of a shock than 1-2 but it's early days.

lady thrilled for you. Congrats again. And strawberry that's all fab news about dd. They're all growing up aren't they?

moggle sounds like you are coping brilliantly.

Strawberryfield12 · 28/03/2018 07:16

Congratulations Halfstar! Very impressed how in control you both sound with three children to look after Moggle, Halfstar.

happypotamus · 28/03/2018 10:46

Congratulations halfstar and ladydolly

DD2 is very funny but does still tantrum. That might be just me though, as DH commented the other day that she always seems to be crying when he comes home but never cries when he is looking after her Hmm Sad
Her current reaction to any disagreement is to shout 'that's not fair, you're not coming to my party!' Obviously she isn't having any kind of party for about 7 months. She is very upset because DD1 has her birthday and a party next month and DD2 thinks it is not fair that she has to wait so long for hers.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 01/04/2018 14:56

Hi sorry had new tablet for Xmas and lost my log in but all rest now.

Congrats on twins Moggle and number 3 Halfstar

Ds2 is a characger funny but demanding and so opinionated!!

We are off to Raj al Kumiah about an hr from Dubai in June it will be v hot but I need some sunshine.

End of finaciak9yr upon us and realised I have done no night Nanny or babysitting work at all it's not that I don't want to but working 4 days a week with having both boys I don't get as much time to promote myself and equally can't do the 4-5 nights a week somr9want, night Nanny work has always been minimal in east Midlands anyway and babysitting tends to be those with teeny tots or medical needs otherwise people use teenagers as cheaper. I really must get back to it though as I do love it and miss it.

ladydolly · 05/04/2018 06:54

ohh sunshine, I'm so jealous!!

DD is developing the most brilliant sense of humour and clearly has my confidence

DD: Am I funny?
DP: Yes you're very funny.
DD: I know I am, I make myself laugh all the time.

massive lol's from me in the next room!!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 05/04/2018 07:06

Lady ours is still all bums willies and poo jokes I am not sure boys ever outgrow it. But they are v funny and it's hard not to laugh when inappropriate.

happypotamus · 10/04/2018 11:29

I am taking DD for her pre-school booster immunisations today. That was horrible when she was a tiny baby, but now she is old enough to realise how horrible it is but not old enough that I can explain it to her which seems worse.

I didn't send her to pre-school this morning, which means she has spent the morning harrassing me. "Play mummy" and then tries to instruct me in a nonsensical imaginary game and shouts at me because I am doing it wrong. "Lets play camping" but it turns out she has no idea what camping is! This is nearly as much fun as when we are in the car: "Let's play i spy" except she doesn't know any letters, so when she says "I spy with my little eye something beginning with b" it could be anything beginning with any letter and not necessarily something she can see either, then she is annoyed when we don't guess.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 12/04/2018 06:56

Happy hope vaccination went ok I need to arrange ours as they send a letter with appointment which we can't do so you ring cancel and a new letter comes and the cycle continues.

happypotamus · 12/04/2018 09:28

eastmids it was fine. She cried a tiny bit but was immediately cheered up by the stickers and excited to show them to DH later. That sounds like a ridiculous system to book them. I just got sent a letter saying your child is due these immunisations and had to phone the GP surgery and make an appointment.
DD2 is going to stay at my parents' tonight and tomorrow, as my mum arranged a birthday present for DD1 that involves me taking her to London tomorrow. I hope that goes ok, because my parents will not sit and hold her hand until she goes to sleeep, which is what happens here. They will leave her to cry probably, but then tell us she fell straight to sleep. She woke up at 5.40am today. My parents will not be impressed with that either.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 14/04/2018 13:05

Glad she was ok happy and hope the night at grandparents goes ok. Glad we are not the on,y ones who sit with the toddler to go to sleep but he goes to sleep pretty quickly. Still wakes around 4am coughing with stupid bloody cough left from that winter flu which wiped him out for Xmas n new yr (only time I have taken an unwell child to A&E he was proper poorly fun new years day)

Well we won a competition for a £300 kids party booking so all booked for ds2 4th party in Nov!!
Ds1 already has his 8th bday party booked for Aug toboganning and snow tubing.

At least the sun is out I can't do much more of the cold.

Annarose2014 · 22/04/2018 08:24

Halfstar congrats!!! 3 girls, how brilliant!

We have been having awful problems with DS going into creche every morning. Full on tears, took a lot of cajoling/bribing. He wasnt mad on his keyworker, so we thought it was that. But last week he was bawling his eyes out and finally said (after a lot of badgering) that he was being bullied by another little boy. I had a stern word to the key worker and she said "I knew there were a few issues between them, but I thought it was just Boys Being Boys" Angry

Its been much better since, she's clearly finally paying attention. But I'm not a bit sorry we're moving house soon. We have him down for an AMAZING creche which is massive, with chickens and a Forest School and several playgrounds etc. Its in the countryside (literally around the corner from the house we've just bought) which is why it's able to have so much space. We have them both down for it (DD is still at home but is 18 months now and needs more stimulation).

Strawberryfield12 · 24/04/2018 19:45

Anna your new nursery sounds fab! And congratulations on the new house! Sounds like lots of great things happening.

That's so horrible what your DS has been going through. Before Christmas DD kept saying that one of the boys was pulling her hair and kicked her. We didn't make much noise about it bcs she can be quite a moany madam. Until later on DH saw himself that boy pulling another girl by the ear. The staff straight away stopped him has to be said. I afterwards told the manager what DD has been telling. She said they were aware and keeping close eye on the kid.

happypotamus · 30/04/2018 09:59

DD seems to have turned into a typical 2year old despite being 3.5 now. We have constant whinging and full on screaming and crying if what she wants isn't happening the way she wants it right now Hmm
It doesn't help that she has gone back to waking up 4 times a night for no apparent reason so we are both exhausted. She had a cold last week and she was like DH when he has a cold/ man flu! She lay about the house, moaning "my nose is too poorly". Apparently her nose was too poorly for anything but watching cbeebies, playing her favourite memory card games and eating lunch, until we collected DD1 from school, then she suddenly able to run about etc until bedtime when her nose was too poorly for sleeping and she kept waking or, even worse, seemingly crying mummy mummy in her sleep.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 11/05/2018 17:53

Well had a bit crap week car accident on wed where i was hit in rear ended with me in A&E thankfully children not in car and i will be fine could have been worse.

If anyone is thinking of going to see Sarah and Duck live highly recommend both boys loved it.

happypotamus · 13/05/2018 10:42

eastmids hope you are ok after your car crash. I was actually thinking a while ago about Sarah and Duck live. DDs would both enjoy that. Must check if there are still tickets and if my bank balance would allow that.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 13/05/2018 13:24

Happy I will be ok I hope still in pain but to be expected.

Sarah n duck was really great the boys really did enjoy it was only an hour long but v well done.

happypotamus · 13/05/2018 16:58

Damn, it's here tomorrow and Tuesday and sold out :(
That would have been kind of inconvenient anyway because of school.
