Have fun at the highland games
I'm off to CSWS's for a Feb thread meet up pass the wine!

UniSarah · 04/08/2007 21:41

Took boy and Dh out for lunch today. Wagamama noddle bar. FAb, we got there soon after opening so not too busy, the kids menu was real dishes in small sizes . Boy ate an enourmous amount of chicken and some noodles and dumpling.

Frizbe · 05/08/2007 20:15

Oooh like wagamama and didn't realise they did a kids menu off there soon then Well next time were in Nottm anyway!

Had a lovely night at CSWS's last night, her house is fab you'd all love it, backs onto some lovely corn/wheat fields. Think we all got merrily drunk over an 8 hr period, so no major hangovers anywhere, although I was 1st to bed at midnight as had to get up in morning to drive to BIL's, unlike everyone else who stayed for lunch (sigh)
So get to BIL's on time and then just driving to lunch at pub, when my friends dh rings and says, she's in labour and I'm too far away (she's not due till 19th) so couldn't go get her son....her neighbour and mum have bailed her out, I'm assuming she's doing the biz at the moment, have rung when I got back, to offer her mum my sitting services this evening should they be req'd, but no answer, so maybe they're all at the hospital now, with her having sprogged already?? ooh I'm on tenter hooks!

Frizbe · 05/08/2007 20:39

My friend had a little boy at 16.46 today 7lbs 6oz two weeks early

Jackstini · 06/08/2007 15:02

Pip - so sorry to hear have not been around for about a week and had not seen. Good luck - will look out for your posts.
Glad your little Gremlin is keeping you amused with his new words
Good to hear you had a lovely birthday Friz - forgot ours were close, mine was 28th.
Nice to hear everyone's camping plans - we will prob have a weekend in Wales August bank holiday crashing in my Auntie's timeshare!

UniSarah · 06/08/2007 20:41

Well that was fun- not. had a sick boy on our hands last night. he threw up 4 or 5 times between 9 and 11pm. Oh joy. was down to the last pair of Pjs and last cot sheet. As dh and i were fine we think it wasn;t food posioning as such but maybe he picked up something he shouldn;t at the beach or in the bike shed.

Any ones elses 17 month old puting words together? bye bye bubble, more bubble, that sort of thing?

Frizbe · 06/08/2007 23:32

Happy Birthday Jackstini sorry I'd forgotten too!

Uni for poorly boy, hope he's better tonight? there#s a few things going around according to the other feb threaders.

dd2 is saying daddy rather than dada this week, along with bebe a lot still at other babies and bye bye with accompanied waving. We get the odd occasional two words together, last week dh had 'where mamma?'

laundrylover · 07/08/2007 09:59

Just a quick hello as trying to get out of the house and to the park as rain has gone away today.

Hope the boy is better today Uni and Happy belated birthday to Jackstini.

Kiah's speech is very good and she manages to constantly amaze us with the words she knows. Yesterday she had a major leap forward and did a good few wees and poos on the potty. She is very pleased with her 'knitters'.

My sister has kids all ready to go and I have to still clean my teeth and peg the nappies out...better go.

Frizbe · 07/08/2007 21:22

Hope you had a good day of it LL, I was watching dd2 today and thought, ooh she's going for a poo and she was, I mentioned to dh tonight re getting the potty out again for those moments when I recognise what she's doing!

Frizbe · 10/08/2007 09:40

Where is everyone then, talking to myself am I?

UniSarah · 10/08/2007 14:04

Lo friz. I've had a couple of days off MN, boy hasn't been sleeping during teh day and I've been out in teh evening.
DH and I went out for a meal to belatedly celebrate my birthday, stuffed ourselfs silly with ribs and other greasy american style stuff, bliss.
Took boy to the beach again, been playing in friends gardens. etc taking advantage of the sunshine while it lasts.
I've started loking at the coommunity hall garden with a veiw to re-vamping it. we can have soem cheap labour from teh probation service aparently... so looking for things that are cheap on materials and simple to do and safe for lightly supervised kids. Its a triuangluar garden on a slope, teh apex is the high point and the base is the hall wall with a path/ fire exit along it. My ideas so far- a small patio on a flat ish bit , to give a firm base for sand/water table type stuff. a fenced "bins" area in the shady bottom corner. one or two benches along the shady side. Some tub or old trye planters with tough herbs / small flowering shubs. We already have a slide and a wendy house.

laundrylover · 10/08/2007 22:54

Hello,

I like your ideas for the garden Uni - my professional head says 'apply for a grant!!'.

Hi Friz, yes I know that 'about to poo' look! Kiah wee'd in the potty again today and also in the washing up bowl that was in the garden for splashing in! Giggling as just typed that as 'slashing in' which was rather apt.

My big news is that after 3.5 years of PND I went and got a prescripion for ADs today. Pick up my Setraline tomorrow so bear with me if I go a bit weird over the next couple of weeks....will let you know how it goes.

Well, I'm back at home after a fab flight with the kids (K slept, T was an angel!) but have no bathroom at all. Downstairs loo is coming into it's own and me and the girls decamped to a friends for bath and showers today...DP is slaving away tho so watch this space.

Yesterday I was having breakfast and said to Tilly "you need to come up with a get rich quick scheme for me so that Daddy can finish our house"...just then the phone rang and it was a man I met a while back. He is setting up a consultancy company and wants me to be an associate!! I'm well chuffed and very excited so keep your fingers crossed...

Frizbe · 13/08/2007 08:55

Wow! LL that's great news on the work front, and let us know how the drugs go too {{{Hugs}}} is the loo finished yet?
Uni, its ok I forgive you for going missing Its hard not too when its so lovely outside, not looking forward to the forcasted mid week gales will my tomatoes stand upto it?
Sooooo have to try and do some work here today and not at all feeling like it, sigh....off to make another cuppa and boot myself up the arse!

laundrylover · 13/08/2007 10:35

Morning,

I'm getting into work mode too but difficult as DP likes music on whilst he works right outside the office door. The bathroom is coming along slowly and I hope we'll have a bath fitted by Friday....it's going slower as we have a day off with friends booked on Weds (Three Fishes pub - yum) and DP works every Thurs anyway. Planning a mass bath and shower session at my parents tomorrow.

My clients have cancelled for Weds in London so have had to drop out of a meeting tomorrow too. Really messed up my week but never mind.

Sunny yesterday afternoon and took girls to Styal Mill as we joined the National Trust last week. Had a really nice time and no tantrums until we got home (from me and Tilly )!

UniSarah · 13/08/2007 14:22

hello. LL it'll be nice to have your own bath back at teh weekend then.
I had it all sorted for this evening- going to see a film- Tales from earthsea- with a friend, dh playing cricket, baby sitter sorted out to cover the gap. then found out this morning that the film we want to see isn;t on in teh evenings! only as a matinee. ratz. I've phoned baby sitter, he was nice about it but understandably a bit peeved as he'd like the cash ( soon to be poor student).
Don;t worry about teh ADs, they don;t always make you go weird.

OP posts:
laundrylover · 13/08/2007 14:29

Thanks Uni.
Weren't you tempted to have an evening out anyway? We have a babysitter on Sat for a night at the pub with friends but don't think I'm meant to drink on these ADs so will be nominated driver - again!

I am sooo looking forward to my first bath in my Ben de Lisi deep bath with wall mounted taps. Even if I am looking at bare plaster walls!

UniSarah · 13/08/2007 20:13

yep, was tempted, but didn't fancy any of the films on offer at approriate time. I'm feeling sh*t any how, hot, cold, achey, ick. So quite glad to be slobbing about at home.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 13/08/2007 21:59

Oooh that sounds like a nice bath LL it'll be worth the wait eh
Drat for the lack of booze on the ad's.....

Uni, re the film, I hate the holidays for doing things like that!
Have you had any more ideas for the community garden? was just trying to think of some but my mind is a blank.

Got all the accounts done today, so hurrah, now just a new business plan to do, dh is having cunning plans again will cost it out and see.....looks like will be doing it tomorrow, as mum and dad have just rung to say they both have food poisioning they went out for a picnic tea provided by a friend last night whilst they watched a band, looks like they all now have plague

Jackstini · 13/08/2007 22:12

LL - your bath sounds lovely! Hope you are doing ok on the ADs - big step in getting them, well done. (Sure you won't be any wierder than the rest of us)
Uni - the community garden sounds great - you could maybe have some good sensory plants in - e.g. grasses and bamboo that make noises and one of those lovely plants that smells of chocolate - think its 'cosmo' or something?
Friz - hope your Mum & Dad feel better soon - food poisoning is yuk.
Well I had been off mn for a couple of days as feeling very off so went for an early scan today and turns out I have had a missed mc so afraid I am off to join Munz (Pip) on those threads. Going to wait and see if anything happens naturally in next 2 weeks, if not, will have to be the op to sort me out. Will keep things crossed I am on another a-n thread soon.
Love to you all x

Frizbe · 13/08/2007 22:14

Jackstini, so sorry to hear that {{{{Hugs}}} hope everything happens naturally for you soon.

laundrylover · 14/08/2007 11:18

Oh Jackstini I'm so sorry about that. I was nosing at the due March thread yesterday (feeling nostalgic and broody) and there are a few who've had mc's I think. Two of my friends in RL have had them this month too. I hope you are all pregnant again soon and have my fingers crossed.

Uni, hope you're feeling better soon and your parents Friz.

Grrr, my client has just rebooked a day in London for next week now just as I'd got used to the idea of a work free week! DP has suggested starting our holiday in London so we all go down together so that might work....

UniSarah · 14/08/2007 21:34

sorry to hear that jacks. Hope you get through the next few weeks, you can change your mind about waiting if you want. I just wanted it over with when it was me, my friend waited. horses for courses. neither is the easy or right answer. You need as much suport as you can get from those you love. Good Luck.

UniSarah · 16/08/2007 20:51

Was it something I said....? sorry .

I need some grown up company, dhis away ( work sent him to MAnchester for an early start tomoz) Boy is NOT settling well at nights. hes just thrown teh most almighty tantraaum wobbly , I hardly dare look into his room to see where he is and which limbs are stuck through cot bars. medised! hasn't had any sed affect at all, hes been worse tonight after it than before, its or 1st time with medised instead of calpol, not sure it was worth teh extra.
