What a lovely pic Trinpy. Loving seeing how our little babies are growing up.

Swearwolf · 18/02/2017 10:49

Lovely pictures! S is changing daily, in the last week she's mastered standing independently, and she's so close to walking - can walk between two bits of furniture but always has at least fingers on one of them, and can walk holding on to a finger only. But it could be like that for ages, ds was, he took months to take the plunge from this point! She's 11 months old today. 3 and a half teeth, practically a full bob hair-wise.

First week at work was OK, awful manager is leaving so that's a bonus. I haven't got properly stuck in yet as all my projects are just starting off, so it still all feels new and shiny and novel. Wore two new dresses, didn't mind so much the stone of baby weight I'm still carrying.

Ahh gorgeous pics of happy babies , they are just so cute at this age !!!! Here's ds. He loves taking the milk bottles out of the recycling . I wish he'd actually drink some of it though Hmm

Lovely seeing all these cute babies.

I'm up with the dude. DS2 was fine earlier, ate tea, went to bed and now is so hot. I've given ibuprofen, just waiting for his temp to come down so I can put him back down. Poor baby, he's had an ongoing cold for ages.

Me624 · 19/02/2017 07:03

Dom my DS is the same, he's had a cold with a nasty cough for about 4 weeks now! I took him to the doctor last week as he is waking every night with a coughing fit and like your DS he's had a temperature on 4 or 5 occasions. But the doctor said it's just a virus, the cough isn't on his chest, just got to ride it out. I blame nursery!

DS stayed with the grandparents last night, giving DH and I our first night away (to celebrate my birthday which was last week). Of course I woke up at 6.45am! At least I don't have to get up though!

Me624 · 19/02/2017 07:21

Oh and love the gorgeous pics Trin, swear and Sher. Here's mine, can't believe he's going to be one in two weeks!

They're all so grown up now - like real children and not just babies.
We had ds at fil last night and tried him in the travel cot, he would not have it at all so brought him home and will try again in a few weeks. Its only 15 mins away, its just nice to stay out later than 7pm once in a while haha

TheM3ShipsCameSailingIn · 20/02/2017 13:24

Lovely to see all the almost-toddlers! Here's T in her 12-18 finery (18-24 vests for the cloth bum, sigh). I've been back at work full time since September and am struggling emotionally, but I'm the higher earner and we can't afford for me to stay home. So DH resigned from his job and will stay home till DS starts school in August. T's happy enough with that, but cries every time I leave. She learned to push her walker around last week and loves it. We're still bf for feeds from 5:30 pm to 8 am, and having some bottle refusal again during the day. Not sure she'll ever wean on her own!

vroc81 · 21/02/2017 16:39

Oh all the pictures are gorgeous, not that I am biased or anything but I do think we may have the most attractive MN postnatal clubs babies going... Wink They all look so grown up after this time last year when they were mostly just starting to make an appearance (well apart from the queue jumper Zach!)

R did a couple of dive bombing wobbly steps from the sofa to DH last night - she's been bombing around pushing a wooden cart for weeks but seems to be a bit nervous about letting go and seeing what happens with balance and I think is also worried it might slow her down on her quest to stick her nose into whatever it is she is nosing at next!!

French hope its going ok with their trip home and you are managing ok without them.

M3 I'm in the same boat here that I am the higher earner so my DH has gone part time and I do find it tough, leaving her with either the nursery of dad... although she cries less leaving her on daddy days, there is definitely some daddy favoritism going on at the moment! She sobs if he leaves the room, me less so.... Sad

Swearwolf · 24/02/2017 08:31

Ohhhh after a full week of hourly waking, S slept until 5am last night! Now do I try and replicate yesterday (only a little nap, lots of playing at the childminders, late tea and bath and slightly late 7pm bedtime) or do I go with our usual routine of a nice long nap, tea at 5 and bed at 6.30 and hope it was just the natural end of it??? I've always believed sleep begets sleep and that was certainly true with my oldest, but yesterday seems to be saying the opposite.

Me624 · 24/02/2017 14:43

Swear for my DS there does not appear to be any correlation whatsoever between his napping and whether he has a good night. His naps are very hit and miss now he's at nursery, some days he'll have 2 x 90 minutes and other days a single 30 minute nap!

DS is also a 5am riser and I've been working really hard on that these last 2 weeks. No milk when he wakes, just a sip of water and then I ignore him unless he really starts crying. We've had a couple of mornings of rage, mostly 20 mins or so of shouting before rolling over and going back to sleep, and a few mornings of actually not waking until 6! Here's hoping for a few more of those.

Dottydoodoo · 24/02/2017 16:08

Swear yay for a 5am wake up! I'm with me there is no correlation here with naps and night time sleep. DS can have a super long afternoon nap so I'm thinking he won't go to bed and then he's out like a light. Similarly, he can have a pants nap so I'm all oooh he will go to bed easily, and then it takes him ages to drop off and he wakes up earlier than usual! I think just go with what is easiest!

Have any of our babies had their one year review with the health visitor yet? DS has got his on Tuesday, even though he isn't one until the middle of March. HV sent out a questionnaire, there are a fair few things that DS can do or is beginning to do, but some of the questions seem so advanced! Like, if you show your baby how to scribble do they copy you? No! DS just wants to eat the pencil! Or, does your baby cuddle a teddy/doll? No! Poor teddy gets swung round by one of his legs! I don't know! DS is my first so I don't really have any clue about what he should or shouldn't be able to do. I wouldn't imagine that an 11 month old would be able to scribble though. Oh well, we have been having fun working through the different activities!

Still no crawling, I honestly don't think he will but he has started to bum shuffle over the last few days. He can only go round in a circle though! Bless him, it's so cute to watch!

sherazade · 24/02/2017 16:16

No correlation between naps and night time sleep here either ! I've just learnt to go with the flow and expect the worst.
Ds is a scribbler . He loves taking lids off pens and going for it but I wasn't so pleased when he recently scribbled all over my freshly painted walls with my new lip liner 😡 On the other hand, my two dds did not scribble until closer to the 18 month mark I think . They're all so different !

1frenchfoodie · 24/02/2017 19:06

That is interesting Dotty , we wont get DD to her 1 year review as we are in France and yet to register with a doctor. I got a questionnaire with the appointment request and thought it was a 'yes' to all the questions but I dont remember seeing one on scribbling. We've not given DD the chance yet (temp accomodation, pale green carpets, too scared...) but she copies all sorts on the ipad (loves babbling at Siri!) so might just do it.

DD has been with my mum in the UK for a week, missing her so much. Even uninterrupted sleep does not make up for it. Back next wed, thank goodness.

Me624 · 24/02/2017 20:16

In my area they do a 9-12 month review and then a 2 year review. DS had his at 10 months and the questionnaire was mostly things that he could do but a few that he is way, way off (like talking - one question was does he have at least 3 words? DS is very much at the babbling stage still and not even that a lot of the time - a lot of the time he just shouts 'Ah' kind of noises). The HV said it's such a big spectrum of normal at this age.

He wouldn't have a clue what to do with a pen. Except eat it like you said Dotty! He does cuddle his teddy though.

Dottydoodoo · 25/02/2017 10:28

me that's the same as my area. The question about having three words is the same too. DS doesn't have any words yet, just lots of babble and ha ha noises! I could listen to baby babble all day.

french DS seems to know exactly what to do with my iPhone! He jabs at the screen with his index finger. I'm sorry you are missing your DD that must be super tough. Only a few days until Wednesday thank goodness.

sherazade oh dear, oopsie!

TheM3ShipsCameSailingIn · 25/02/2017 18:42

me we had a development review for T at 10 months, but only because DS is under evaluation for ASD. I think the next one is at 18 months, which everyone does here. The normal ranges are enormous at 12 months!

MrsElls · 26/02/2017 07:01

Our area sends out the questionnaire but unless that raises any concerns they don't actually do a face to face review. I wasn't sure about the scribbling question but I put sometimes as she seems to love painting at nursery. She is 1 tomorrow, even though she is my 2nd I can't believe how quickly it has gone! Got lots to do for tomorrow, bake and ice a cake, wrap presents, put some decorations up etc, thankfully we are only having grandparents round so shouldn't be too stressful if I can get today sorted.

Trinpy · 26/02/2017 09:59

I think there must be different questionnaires depending on area because ds2 had his at 9 months and there weren't any questions on scribbling or whether he could cuddle a teddy. We had to go in to have him weighed and measured and to go through any questions where our answer showed there might be a problem. When we had ds1's 1 year review a couple of years ago there weren't any questionnaires, it was just a chat with the hv, which was a lot nicer!

DomesticAnarchist · 26/02/2017 10:13

We've got DS2's 12 month review this week, he'll be only just 11 months. By the time DS1 had his he was about 16 months, so he aced all the criteria. Obviously DS2 isn't to that level.

We haven't had a questionnaire. But DS2 would rather eat crayons than try to draw with them. He's also a massive chunk, too.

Timetogrowup2016 · 26/02/2017 10:53

We have a crawler this week.
Dd turned one on 16th February.
Hope your all doing ok on here

Me624 · 26/02/2017 13:13

Yay Time! I bet now that she's on the move she'll progress to cruising really quickly too. Did you do anything to celebrate her birthday?

It's DS's birthday next week. We're having a party for him next weekend, just at home, but DH pointed out that I'd probably got a bit overexcited with the invitations. I didn't think everyone would be able to come but we've got somewhere between 20 and 25 adults coming and 10 babies/older siblings Shock our house is a reasonable size but it may be a little cramped! Hoping not everyone will turn up all at once! I'll be spending the morning making lots of sandwiches and planning to just get loads of sausage rolls and pizzas etc!

Dottydoodoo · 27/02/2017 07:07

Happy birthday baby mrsells CakeFlowers!! I hope she has a lovely day.

Thanks all re the 1 year review. I was panicking slightly melting down as DS seems to have a lot more not yets than yes's, but the questionnaire is very subjective and I'm not actually worried about DS's development. He behaves how I would imagine an 11 month old to! Oh well, it's tomorrow so we will see.

time yay for crawling! Did you do anything nice for DD's birthday? I can't believe we have or are so close to having one year olds, it's crazy!

Me lol I've gone a little OTT with DS's first birthday party planning! The invites are out, the decorations ordered, the cake planned in my head, it's not happening until three weekends time! I hope your DS has a happy birthday, and enjoys his party Cake!

Swearwolf · 27/02/2017 18:23

Yay time, well done C!

We have a 12 month review here, says on the questionnaire they do it between 11 and 13 months, so a month's leeway either side. S will be 11 and a half months when she has hers, and ticks a lot of the boxes on the questionnaire. When ds had his they were ahead of themselves and he was only 9 months, he obviously wasn't doing many of the things in the questionnaire but I felt like he was really behind for ages, even though he wasn't.
