Thought I'd start a new thread as the old one is getting full!

Hey everyone hope you've had a good long weekend! me have you flown yet? We went away last weekend.... lots and lots of snacks, milk even though it's just a morning and evening thing these days and a bag full of toys helped us - though she still had a meltdown on the flight back because she couldn't run around - also ignore the request to load first when they put it out, you can queue jump with a buggy so go up about half way through loading to minimise how long you're stuck in your seat...!

We have a mothercare Nanu that's survived two return flights to Europe so far...

Good luck and have a nice trip!!

We also have a screaming tantruming toddler if she doesn't get her own way immediately - isn't it too early for this?!

Me264 · 30/05/2017 08:25

I'm glad you survived vroc! We're off in a couple of weeks. I was thinking we'd wait by the gate as long as possible - why cage DS up on my lap any longer than necessary! Need to get a cheap stroller to take away with us, the Nani looks good! I'll take a look on the local Facebook selling sites.

Yes yes to the tantruming toddler. This morning it was because I took away his beaker when he started pouring his water all over the floor, what an unreasonable mummy I am! We have just bought him a munchkin 360 which is great as he can't pour it all out but need to get a few more!

Dottydoodoo · 30/05/2017 13:13

me we have the Britax dualfix swivel seat too, we love it! DS seems really comfy in it and I think we got about £80 off than it should have been too. Bargain!! I hope you have a lovely time on your holiday and good luck with the flight!

vroc wow well done for getting through the flight! I don't think my DS would tolerate flying at all, he has permanent ants in his pants!

Omg yes yes yes to the tantrums. I don't think DS got the memo that they are not supposed to start until they are two!! This morning he had an epic tantrum screaming, kicking, stiff as a board because I wouldn't let him throw his weetabix around the room. This went on until we left the house, but as soon as we left the house he was fine. Then a little while later in the pushchair he did the same because I wouldn't let him walk next to the busy road. Dearie me, it has been a full on morning. He is asleep now thank goodness. I think I need a lie down!

We went to rhyme time at the library this morning, we used to go every week but got out of the habit and haven't been for ages. DS had a really good time, I'm really glad we went. He only tried to run out of the door twice!!

Dottydoodoo · 04/06/2017 20:51

As I was getting DS ready for bed this evening I saw a little glimpse of white poking through his top gum, looks like the second molar is just coming through. Maybe that explains the grumpiness!

Hi, not sure if anyone uses this thread anymore but wondered if there was a Facebook march 2016 group?

I was on here for a while but couldn't keep up with the messages but find FB invaluable for my older toddler so was hoping for one for my march 16 toddler...

Newfamily2014 · 09/09/2017 23:25

Hi madmamma I have looked for a FB group but not found one.. Would like to join if one is found!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/09/2017 13:51

Wow haven't been on thread for months now, looks like everyone's left Confused life gets busy I guess! I've been busy AF working full time and trying to cope with two kids and lack of sleep as DD2 still wakes minimum 2x a night [cries] hope everyone out there is doing well!

madmamma, newfam there was/is a facebook group but its not very active. You're welcome to join if you like- pm me your fb email add and I'll see if I can add you to the group...

Ah, hey!

I feel you, @marmiteandcheeseplease, with the working with 2. DH now works away during the week too. But DS2 usually only wakes up once.

Hope everyone's good!

1frenchfoodie · 16/09/2017 10:42

Hi Dom hi marmite, good to hear your updates. We only have DD (we'll I have 2 stepchildren but they are in their 20s) and things are busy enough. DD has been with DH full time since we moved to Paris in jan but finally started creche 2 days a week last week. She loves it so I am relaxed, DH can start french classes and perhaps the house will look a little less like a bomb has hit it each day.

Madmamma39 · 30/09/2017 20:18

Think I sent a pm marmiteandcheeseplease! (I'm really rubbish at this!!)

DomesticAnarchist · 22/06/2018 18:44

Hellooooo?!!

Is anyone still around?

I think I'm going to need a potty training support group!

Just managed to catch the first 💩 in the potty!

Helloooo!

No sign of interest in the potty here. Yay for 💩 catching 😁

DomesticAnarchist · 22/06/2018 19:18

Hey! You're there!

It was a fluke! He clearly hadn't finished when I took his nappy off to bath him, so sat him on the potty with YouTube on the iPad watching helicopters! And after some time nature took its course!

I'm torn between waiting for him to instigate and getting rid of nappies ASAP!

sherazade · 22/06/2018 20:07

Hi !!!! Thanks for reviving us !
Ds is another story altogether . He has been known to
Piss in my mixing bowl and pass me saying surprise , present!
Do a poo in his nappy then strip naked and fling his nappy into next door neighbours backyard
Attempt to change himself

1frenchfoodie · 22/06/2018 20:34

Hi, great to catch up @DomesticAnarchist , thanks for the tag! Just off for first beach holiday with DD tomorrow - I am a lot more excited about bucket and spade than her. We have not really made a potty training effort though DD regularly does a wee first thing on one and then last thing too. Poos are a bit more sporadic but she is very proud whenever she does one on the potty. I have made a rod for my own back with a goodbye ceremony of waving goodbye to potty contents being tipped down the toilet - she really enjoys that. Yours sounds a lively one @sherazade !

Dottydoodoo · 22/06/2018 21:13

Helloooo! I’m still here!

Wow well done for catching it! DS isn’t that interested in the potty yet, lots of chatting about wee wees and poo poos and he will sometimes say when he has done one but not consistently. I’m similarly torn, I would love to just go for it and see what happens but feel like he should be ready. Aarghhh! I’ve got a book called ‘Oh Crap’ which I’m slowly reading!

DomesticAnarchist · 22/06/2018 21:51

OMG @sherazade! That's one confident kid! How are you coping with that? I'm not sure I would at all!

@1frenchfoodie that sounds like some impressive progress, actually. Good luck with the holiday. So far our holidays have been within our home county!

Is the book good @Dottydoodoo? I kind of want to get rid of nappies ASAP but I can't remember how to do it!
