Here we go girls - Amie, Kiwi, Dixia, Flannelettepyjamas, we can start comparing motherhood notes on this one and wait for the others to arrive one by one. Although I suspect the other thread will be our home until there's critical mass. To those of you still waiting to join the post-natal people - get a move on!!

Hello all

Glad to hear some folks are getting sleep

Diva - might be worth seeing the doc and asking them about the possible side effects of the coil

Evenhope - our house is about 23-25 degrees right now so DD is in a vest and little light trousers. Last night she just wore a romper thing (short sleeves and legs)

I am barely awake here. DD woke every 2 hrs last night and DS woke up 3 times when DD was sleeping
Managed to grab an hour of kip this afternoon thankfully

LunarSea · 16/04/2007 17:29

First school run for us tomorrow too!

Evenhope - I've stripped Toby off to just a vest too during the afternoons.

Piffle · 16/04/2007 18:16

Ooops maybe then Finn was too hot last night and got thirsty
He had on short sleeved vest and light sleepsuit, plus a sheet(he likes to be tucked in real tight)
Hmmmmm
much cooler here this afternoon though, much better

sazzybee · 16/04/2007 18:54

well elliot has been awake all day so i am typing with him in my arms. i think he was too hot but he yells when he's exposed to air. hates having his nppy changed. does that get better?

i'm sorry i stole your nice night's sleep piffle

diva - i really feel for you. can you get yr doc to renew the scriprt over the phone? I've never had much luck with sjw but i know others swear by it.

oow amos!

i am proud of myself today as i have emailed the people from work who want to come round and told them they can't yet. I just can't cope. haven't even managed to do the washing up!

kitty - i am entirely in agreement with you. you are all that's keeping me vaguely sane

good luck all of you with the school run tomorrow - i'll be thinking of you!

Rosylily · 16/04/2007 19:21

hhmmm, it's nice and sunny here but not roasting, I didn't realise you guys were getting a heat wave!

Well Hasan is in the fast growing camp, he's put on 2lbs in 2 weeks. Not surprised really, he feeds alot and I'm feeling really full and engorged between feeds. And I'm constantly hungry so eating loads.(again)

I walked with the double buggy today to collect dd and I felt so excited to be walking fast ooh I love being unpregnant

kittyhas6 · 16/04/2007 20:43

Should have photos up now

morocco · 16/04/2007 20:49

just checking in
bt still trying to fix internet but 'luckily ' I'm too busy to surf much anyhow
diva - i read you are having trouble with coil - it's not your imagination. I had same probs of weight gain and depression with progesterone only pill which I guess is similar to progesterone pill. when i stopped it almost immediately stopped the weight gain and feelings
i'll post again in a sec as internet is rubbish

morocco · 16/04/2007 20:58

me again

emily is doing great and getting podgy, not that i've weighed her again
feeding a bit randomly, today it seemed all the time maybe cos it's hot, but doing quite well at night and waking around 2 and then 5 but cos she's in my bed and also not pooing it's a quick dream feed then back to sleep for us both - nice and easy

she also likes being carried all the time and complains if put down unless she's in the mood for a look round and a kick - taking her nappy

foxcub · 16/04/2007 21:01

I have to get up at 6am on school days to get kids ouit by 8.30am

Monti was just in his all in one undies today. Got too hot and sleepy in car then couldn't sleep later as was uncomfortable. Had to lie down and sleep with him to get him to settle (that's my excuse anyway )

babies drink more when its hot I seem to remember - lots of thirst quenching snacking

Monti is changing now - getting slightly more demanding (6 weeks tomorrow)

sazzy - am proud of you. don't let them decsend on you until YOU are ready - otherwise its a nightmare

foxcub · 16/04/2007 21:02

Kitty - Ronnie is grogeous - can see transformation from 2 hour old snuffly to 8 day old wide awake (cute!)

Piffle · 16/04/2007 21:12

Good on you for being brave enough to put yourself first Sazzy
Amazing how one little person can really leave you unable even to butter toast timewise...
Even showering is a luxury...

when do they stop screaming like they're being pricked with a million needles with nappy changes. Honestly tis very wearing. Finns 4 wks this week and showign no signs of tolerating changes at all...
But we are getting corking smiles - well actually just dd and I are

packed him off to bed a little later tonight as well, dressed a little lighter as temp has gone up again and it's dead muggy

kitty your kids are gorgeous!

So do any of us live near anyone else here btw?
Thinking we could organise a summer get together - FWIW I'd be happy to host - sth lincs so middle ish of country...

LunarSea · 16/04/2007 21:16

Piffle - I live just across the fields from Amie. Technically different towns as there's a river in the way which is the boundary, but we share a nearest pub!

divastrop · 16/04/2007 21:17

i had a chat with my gp about the coil when i took Elsie this afternoon.she said that althought side effects are very rare, they arent unknown and if i keep piling the weight on then she will remove it for me.she said the family planning will be reluctant to remove it as they cost them £90 a peice.well, they should have tols me the side effects when i asked befor ei had it fitted then!

Elsie has also been awake all day and taking piddly amounts of milk every 2 hours.the doc said shes a bit dehydrated and if her feeding doesnt improve tonight or if she carries on having the trots then i will have to take her to the hospital in the morning

she is now totally overtired and whingy and will only fall asleep in my arms but wakes the second i put her down.plus i have dp harping on about the crappy internet service we're getting from tiscali and keepa wanting me to ring them.my throat hurts and im knackered and i want to scream

sorry for the rant

kitty-are you good at being organised in the mornings?it doesnt matter what time i get up i always seem to be running around like a madwoman and screaming like a banshee trying to get the kids out the door on time

it was like that even when i just had 2!

divastrop · 16/04/2007 21:21

kitty-ronnie is lovely

sazzybee · 16/04/2007 21:30

Oooh elliot is sleeping! piffle you are a miracle worker

That photo of ronnie and kai is soo cute kitty! I'm going to have a look at everyone's now. I've figured out how to upload some now too

sazzybee · 16/04/2007 21:32

diva - sorry to hear about elsie and that you are having such a rough time

Sod the bloody tiscali - if I can't even do the washing up with only one LO there's no way you can be expected to sort out crappy broadband Priorities!

kittyhas6 · 16/04/2007 21:43

God, Diva, talking to internet companies is a nightmare when you're fighting fit. Dh has got stuff still to sort out with sky broadband, since Feb but he can't bring himself to phone them up. Can't say I blame him.

I get up at 6.30 to be out of the house by 8.30. I usually end up shrieking by 8.25 though .

Does anyone else find afternoons and evenings a complete nightmare? Ronnie starts being 'demanding' from about 2pm and then doesn't stop until, just now as it happens. Suck, suck, suck, then falls into a deep sleep for the night, stiring to feed

Mossie · 16/04/2007 21:46

Just a quickie, Bertie is sort of alsseep but fretful so dh has gone to clm him as this is first "mossy time" I've had all day, iyswim, the rest of the day I have been Bertie's canteen!!

I am still unsure as to what's right and what's not, bought a book on bfing today off Amazon so will give me a few ideas, today though he basicall didn't sleep at all, just fed and fed and fed, but then slept for about rhree hours... anyway i'll not bore you with his sleep patters, rckon they'll sorte themselfs out soon enough.

Apols for typos typing dead dead fast!!

Diva isnt' it weird the way you have an idea of how people look before you see what they loook like? Also, as it you who was aksing about your breast being sore? Don't know if it helps, but I was told not to rink peppermint tea or real ale cos it could slow the flow down, so it might be worth you having atry of these to see if it helps you, must be so frustrating!!! And even if it does't work can't hurt to have a little Theakstons old P

Piffle so impressed at you being out and about and doing so much, your ds1 sounds like a star! I have managed to wsh a few nappies today and that's about it!!

{Lol! I can hear dh on the baby monitor singing Chuck Berry songs to Bertie, how cute!! }

Foxy when do babies normally start to smile then? Bertie looks at me with his wide eyes but mainly he looks cross like, "give me that boob now!"

Evenhope Bertie is wearing babygros cept when people are round I dress him in his little designer baby suits - yes I know I'm a chav but he looks so adorabel! Swaddle him at night.

Blonde - do you hav ea name yet?

Sazzy, Bertie screams when he has his nappy changed too, think he doesn't like the wet cotton wool on his bum.

Rosy ikwym about being able to walk, not that I've lef tht es house but I can now get upstairs!!!

Kitty Ronnie is such a cutie, he looks so shocked & surprised in that last photo too, love him!!

Morocco hope you get your internet up & running soon but as you say you may not "need" it jus yet!

Piffle I live nearest Diva I think, but still quite a way away! Actually where is Runingal, says Cheshire on profile?

Have to go he is waking again, my turn this time..... love to you all xxxx

sazzybee · 16/04/2007 22:10

Really must go to bed but mossy - just wanted to say that Elliot was feeding for hours and hours at first but I went to a bf counsellor last week and got my latch checked and he's getting a much better feed now and is much faster!

And I know what you mean about being able to move. I've never been so keen on exercise

Mossie · 16/04/2007 22:17

Sazzy forgot toask I have seen your vid now email me your address & I'll send it back when I manage to get out to the post office!! msrlmoss @ hotmail . com

Will ask mw about my latch on Fridaythen, hope she is one of thos mws who knows such things, if not might go to next la leche sesh @ local baby cenre, not sure when it is will get mil to find out.

Mil is being a star btwkeeps coming over & helping w houswork etc. I have had to "let go " a little though and allow others to help...

Mossie · 16/04/2007 22:26

Can't remember who asked but Bertie was 7lbs 13 oz at birth.

Rosylily · 17/04/2007 09:49

Morocco and Diva - hope somebody sorts your internet services soon!

Kitty, gorgeous photos, how sweet is Ronnie!

Dh bought a fancy camera coming back from Pakistan but can't find the charger now and my digital camera is for children but i still can't work it!

Mossy sounds like you are doing great. Good to read up on bf, it does take a while to get established with it but before you know it you'll be confidently feeding bertie like a pro!

Well I managed the nursery school run this morning without having brushed my hair or found a bra to put on! And we are all wearing weird clothing combinations today

Last night at ten o'clock ds1,2 and 3 were in bed but dd and I were having a battle of wills. I was trying to settle her back in her own bed and she was having none of it. I finally let her win at 11.30 as I didn't know what else to do with her that didn't involve violence!
so then ds2 arrived in the middle of the night and myself and baby moved to the guest bed (lucky we have one) there just isn't room, those kids all think they are starfish in their sleep! And I end up teetering on the edge.
Anyway before Hasan was born they slept in their own beds so its round 2 tonight! Operation 'back to normal'

Piffle · 17/04/2007 10:09

Finn much better after his busy day yesterday
But he did wake at 5.45 and WOKE. So I fed, laid him next to me and dozed...
an hour later I am vaguely aware of him latching on and feeding himself to sleep

DP asked is he feeding or just sucking, I said I had no idea but if he was quiet I'd take it
Anyway dp got up dd at 7.30 got her brekkie and let me sleep in with Finn til 8.30 bless him...

Anyway today another walk to the Postbox and the vets to pick up some forms for our dogs, thats a mile or more there and back.
Then after lunch off to adventure playground in the forest...
Have baby will travel - will wear him out

Mossie · 17/04/2007 10:49

1 handed typing!

Rosy sounds like ur playing musical beds!!

Piffle how do you atch hm on lying down? Would make my life easier at night!

Have discovered Bertie likes bing sung 2, so I'm gonna learn some nusery rhymes, can't keep singing nineties inde classics 2 him that's 4 sure!

Off to reply to two weeks' worth emails now, been puttin it off!!!

AmieR · 17/04/2007 11:07
