Here we go girls - Amie, Kiwi, Dixia, Flannelettepyjamas, we can start comparing motherhood notes on this one and wait for the others to arrive one by one. Although I suspect the other thread will be our home until there's critical mass. To those of you still waiting to join the post-natal people - get a move on!!

Doh!!
Kitty - you aren't even meant to be ON this thread... stop confusing me woman! I am severely lacking in sleep!

kiwibella · 05/04/2007 12:10

I have a very hungry eater here too... but I didn't know that you are supposed to have your babies weighed??? Kate hasn't been seen since the mw discharged us at about 2 1/2 weeks. The HV phones but even she hasn't been in contact for a couple of weeks. We have our 6 week check next week so I had been waiting until then .

Good giggle at your Little Britain experience at the hospital Muppet - hope that everything turns out ok for wee Sam.

Oooh, Diva - hope that your infection has cleared up and you are now fitted with your handy-dandy sperm busting machine .

LaidbackinEngland · 05/04/2007 12:50

Kiwi - I have rarely had my babies weighed unless formally asked to... because I am a lazy cow.

Muppet - DH is a Dr - but has been working as a psychiatrist for the last 6 years so his clinical skills are, ahem, rusty. I always joke that my 3 weeks at St Johns Ambulance have given me more knowledge than his 5 years at medical school.

Piffle - Finn sounds like Amos, a total gannet. DH keeps telling me " he's hungry again".... caught him yesterday putting Amos to his nipple as "an experiment "

Piffle · 05/04/2007 14:19

Finn latched on to ds's (13) t shirted armpit yesterday as he was being cuddled while I did something else... Nice teen boy odor greeted him Finn looked highly unimpressed.

WE know if Finn feeds more often than 2 hrly he pukes so am using that as my guide.

Am getting good at picking when he's tired, pop in him in his crib and he has had two good naps today, well as good a nap as you get when you're feeding every 2 hrs that is!

Everyone tells me, once he gets to 10lbs he'll sleep longer

Well the closer he gets to 10lbs the more he is eating

muppethasakitten · 05/04/2007 14:35

Damn... can everybody tell this to Samuel then? Now he is over 11lb he is not sleeping hardly at all! I can honestly say that neither dd or ds1 every spent so long awake or ever cried so much... roll on tuesday when i have my cranial osteopath appointment that is going to magically cure everything in my life

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/04/2007 14:42

Muppet, sorry to confuse ,talking to you lot gives me some distraction!!!

divastrop · 05/04/2007 16:14

the photo issue is obviously a technical problem on mn's side cos i did everything rightill ask dp about it later if i can bring myself to.

had my IUS fitted this morning.the doc was taking the piss out of my eagerness to get 'sorted' asap but i explained about what happened with dd1 and how im worried i'll end up pregnany again if i so much as look at dp with a twinkle in my eye.

cant do owt for 7 days though, its not the same as the copper one.

foxcub · 05/04/2007 20:10

Hi everyone - hope you've enjoyed the weather ?

I managed a walk to the school and back in between extended bouts of Bfing

Monti slept for a five hour slot last night (which sound great doesn't it?_ but I woke at 4am with engorged boobs and a blosked duct so have been putting him to the breast as often as possible - its cleaerd the duct and he seems very content

Had a nice supper sitting in the garden eating some pasta with Monti in his buggy in the sun

L:aidback - my DS1 latcehd onto DH's nipple when he was a newborn. I heard an agonised "ouch!!!" - my DH was much more sympathetic of my sore nips after feeling the strength of a newborns latch

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/04/2007 20:20

Diva, I'm amazed you are even thinking about thinking about sex .

I think I am going to be like this for ever and ever and ever....

foxcub · 05/04/2007 20:22

No Kitty - you'll be like this for another few days at the most

Then you'll be babymooning with the rest of us

LaidbackinEngland · 05/04/2007 20:31

Have added a couple of pictures of Amos and my other two rogues for a few days.

I am thinking about trying natural contraception ... by dates/persona/temperature etc.... has anyone ever tried it ? ...Is it a huge fag ? Can't face taking the pill as have been on it on and off for 15 years +

Piffle · 05/04/2007 20:32

Sex
but our family is complete now so...
No need...
tee hee

Piffle · 05/04/2007 20:33

laidback GORGEOUS pics

divastrop · 05/04/2007 20:40

kitty-he cant stay there forever.i did read an article in the national enquirer a few years back about a woman who'd been pregnant for 3 years and refused to be induced for religious reasons.apparantly the baby was still alive and well in there .i think there were a few articles about elvis and marylin monroe still being alive in there as well though

ive been thinking about sex since Elsie was about 10 days old, once the first horrible few days were out of the way i kept looking at dp and feeling like i did when we first met.unfortunatly that sparked off my bout of insecurity cos i thought he was the most desirable man on the planet so every other woman would be trying to steal him from me cos i was fat and bucket-fannied.

i got a bottle of low-calorie,low-alcohol wine from asda but its so rank im having to put lemonade in it.i shall have to go to the pub at some point in my life so i can experiment with a variety of drinks

foxcub · 05/04/2007 20:40

Piffle - agree with you re. the sex

Laidback - we use that method - my cucles are very regular so we just avoid getting down when I'm ovulating (which makes it easier re. TTC of course). Never had an accident yet.

BTW beautiful pics

divastrop · 05/04/2007 20:41

in the magazine, that is,elvis+marylin werent alive in the womans womb

foxcub · 05/04/2007 20:41

Diva - LOL re M and Elvis being in there too!

LaidbackinEngland · 05/04/2007 20:43

thanks foxy.... will try and work out when I am ovulating ....bit worried about being complacent whilst bf though, not ready for another baby quite yet .

divastrop · 05/04/2007 20:46

x-posts about 6 times there.ive never tried the 'natural' method,i turn into a nympho when im ovulating and i wouldnt like to try to abstain at those times.

LaidbackinEngland · 05/04/2007 20:51

diva .. me too, but thought I could try some ahem "other moves" during ovulation

divastrop · 05/04/2007 20:58

yes i thought that back in june after i had my problematic coil removeddp and i were going to have a baby 'at some point' but had decided to abstain that month then i would go on the pill the following month...still got the pills somewhereand 'abstinence' is asleep in a moses basket in the living room.

divastrop · 05/04/2007 21:00

just posted on site stuff about the photo thing..think i have to be on your mates list also for you to view the photos, thats what somebody said.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 05/04/2007 21:43

Diva, I've added you to 'my mates' infact you're my only mate . Still no sign of pictures though

morocco · 05/04/2007 21:55

hiya
long time, no chat1 hope you're all doing ok, my internet is wonky as ever so I'll read all the messages in a mo, but just wanted to pop by and say hi
we're doing fine at last but it's been a tough few weeks. i've had retained membranes then lochial infection then cracked nipples then mastitis and am on 2 different types of antibiotics
emily is doing wonderfully though and putting on weight well and sleeping up to 6 hours at night - hurrah!
don't get bt internet - it's rubbish!!

CallieNewMum · 05/04/2007 22:38

I'm so glad to hear other people's babies are eating like fiends. jordi's definitely having more than the guide on the formula box - mind you, every health person I've spoken to recently has said don't worry, if he's on the right line on the centile chart he's fine and it's difficult to overfeed babies anyway. Do you ever get over being paranoid that you are a terrible mother who is ruining your child's future health??

Muppet, Jordi is discovering the delights of being up half the night. He was so good at just feeding and going back to sleep but for the past few nights has spent one period between night feeds - alternating which one it is, but still doing it - awake and crying from time to time if I attempt to leave him in his cot unattended. He's sleeping most of the day so I guess that doesn't help, but if I take him out in the car or the sling then he does sleep soundly during and after - knocked out by fresh air. I'm just not sure about waking him up if he's sleeping though. It was drilled into me in SCBU that he needed his sleep to grow.

I've had a few moments of oh my god I can't cope in the past few days or feeling anxious and emotional again so Jay, you're not alone. Hope Jensen's bottom gets better, sounds nasty.

Laidback, I tried the reverse of natural family planning when TTC and it didn't work iyswim - got pregnant at a time in the month I didn't think I could as thought I hadn't ovulated, so personally I'd be wary of relying on it as contraception too! Mind you I had been taking clomid for a few months so that might have been a factor.

I really should try and sleep now as LO is but I think he's coming around to waking up..
