Thanks for kind words, I must sound like a right moany old cow . KZ - things had really calmed down on the sleeping front, even making progress on him napping in his cot. But then he got this cold, and then I got it, so all up in the air. DH is being great (even cooked me soup the other evening so that I would have something for lunch the next day) but he is out of the house from 7am until 5.30pm so limited amount he can do.

Aw Maewest, hugs. It's such a bugger when they are poorly, everything goes to pot.

Bit shit here, Dh is close to tears every morning with DS1's rejection of him, have posted in Beh/Dev about it. Not alot we can do except for DH to follow my advice which is not famous for.

Applie quarters spread with peanut butter is also delish. Retained that little gem from teenage reads of Sweet valley High novels. As if Elizabeth and Jessica EVER ate peanut butter. (Blossom they are not real people)

Both boys asleep. Love 1-3, it's my fave time of day, I actually get time to MN, go to the loo and eat something! Have lost 2 pounds alredy this week which I put down solely to DS1 no longer being in nursery two mornings a week. I do not stop! Just time to wolf down a hot cross bun and then off we go again!!

Wish I could wave a wand and make DS1 be nice to DH again, it's causing real stress, just when we were back on track again....

Leo is goregeous Wallace.

AnnieOleTing · 07/03/2007 14:04

Hi all,
just checking in, haven't had time to catch up properly.
Mae I hope you get some sleep soon!! I know how that feels. The worst part is when 6am comes around, and you just haven't closed your eyes yet... and it starts all over again.
KZ, we had a techno XT for DS, found it really good. Then when Kayley came along we got the E3, which we find really great. It's really light (though with two babies in it, it can't really be called 'light') and easy to manouvere and compared to all other double buggies it's definitely the best one IMO. We have bright red. Have you dared to go for the Apple?? Beautiful pic of yourself and your DS by the way (are you sure you're not Angelina Jolie?)

HC I hope Sophie is better soon. I saw BB a few years back, really enjoyed it. Was it still at the Peacock in Tottenham Court Road?

Kayley's almost on the move. She gets places, without you realising she's moving. Must be some sort of a bum shuffle. She is attempting to crawl too, but seems to get stuck with her foot under her.
She has started enjoying eating weetabix and cereal now, but still nothing dinnery or fruity or yoghurty.

Sent DH out to the pub last night, as he seemed fed up of the whole SAHD thing. He went for one, and came back after closing...
He's suffering today though!!

Must go, very busy at work these days, booo.

Hope everyone is good otherwise.

Annie

AnnieOleTing · 07/03/2007 14:05

must find an alternative for the word 'really'. A bit overused there....

AnnieOleTing · 07/03/2007 14:08

Bloss, DH also feels a bit like yours, like DS prefers me (which is strange, cos I'm really boring...) so I can sympathize. CAn't offer any advice though.

Banana and peanut butter sandwiches...

FirstAtForty · 07/03/2007 16:40

Hi Girls ? just a quick one as I?m supposed to be working?

Hugs Bloss, must be sad and stressful for you both. I?m sure it will just be a phase and over soon (I bet everyone says that though don?t they).

Wallace ? lovely pic of Leo again, he takes such an expressive photo doesn?t he

Mae ? hope things get better soon, once the bugs have retreated things will hopefully get right back on track again xx

HC ? what a pain re the sickness, poor wee Sophie. If you think it might be the yoghurt I?d definitely recommend cutting out the dairy for a day or two to see if it makes a difference? So hard to know though as there are such a lot of tummy bugs around at the mo.

Kayzed ? post a pic of your pram!!! Hope it?s performing well on all terrains!

Us ? hope things are better for you, how are you getting on? And how is your new pram?

Twinkle ? glad you got something sorted out, the money is one less worry then anyway. Good luck with the new job stuff, at least it?s something you can put on your CV I suppose.

Pavlov ? congrats to Isabella!

French ? glad the christening/baptism went well

Not much to report here, she?s back on solids quite well this week but haven?t had her weighed, and no appointment come through for the paed yet. Still troughing down the bananacado! She also really likes rice milk as a drink (you?re not allowed to substitute it for milk feeds though so I haven?t, it?s just good for when she?s supposed to drink water with food but doesn?t!). I give her the calcium fortified one and I guess it?s a few extra calories for her anyway.

Well better get on, take care all xx

Ceebee74 · 07/03/2007 19:50

Evening all

Mae - hope tonight is better for you - am sure things will be right back on track once you both get over your colds. Agree with you on the 'babysitting' front - we have no-one really to leave DS - MIL too old/fragile, my parents live 90 minutes away, my sister has 3 young kids of her own and they are always out doing beavers, scouts, irish dancing...., friends also all have children of their own and are busy - me and DH haven't had an evening out by ourselves since Josh was born which is quite sad really.

HC - hope Sophie improves - completely sympathise with you on the puking - it is so much fun washing everything in sight for the umpteenth time

Twinkle - guess that is good news and bad news about your job - at least your salary is safe...though it is a shabby way to treat someone if you ask me.

Wallace - lovely photo with the bubbles - Leo is in the perfect pose - deffo one to treasure.

Bloss - no advice for you but really hope things improve - probably just a phase and it will pass but can imagine how your DH feels

Pavlov - wagon wheels and peanut butter - love them both but together...ugh! Get that pg test out girl!!

Not much to report here - had a busy day at work - for the first time since I have been back, I actually didn't have time to MN - what is that all about eh? Not really happy as I am now expected to do what I used to do in 5 days in 3 - impossible! (Twinkle - it is that 'public sector' thing again )

Josh still coughing, still puking...will it ever go - reckon we are on the 7th week of this now.

IamBlossom · 07/03/2007 19:58

ooooh F@F I might try rice milk for Tobes then. I am spoon feeding him water at meals at the moment. He is refusing all milk. I have to feed him milk when he is asleep. I put him down at night and then go back up and dream feed him, and go in just before he is due to wake up during the day and dream feed him then too! Only way to get fluids in him. Still eating like a horse, but fluids are so important aren't they? DS1 was just the opposite. Kids.

Just had a heart to heart with DH about the DS1 rejection situation. Totally understnad where he is coming from, but he has to persevere, you can't send your kids back can you?

Hi Annie! [waves at Annie]

HC I saw Blood Brothers years ago, I thought it was fab.

Twinkle, we are running out of year with the whole christening/availability thing, so I have decided to do it in Augist and combine it with Toby's first birthday. Gives me time to think about it all. Am detemined to make my own cake this year....god help us..

Have had a fab day today with my boys. Loving being at home with them.

to Maewest and Bloss.

Thanks for your thoughts people. I'm still very uncertain about the whole thing though cos I've totally lost faith in the process. I'm not at all confident that the post will be re-evaluated to the salary it should be on and will have to wait months for the review to happen. Management know sod all about it so I can't really trust what they say. So I'm still pretty unhappy really, but at least it's a start.

Bloss - glad I'm not the only one trying to organise around other people's diaries. When we thought we'd be moving we were going to combine a house-warming, Aidan's 1st bday and christening with one party. But now there's no way we can consider moving and we've no space to have anything here. Don't know what we're going to do really.

Glad you enjoyed Blood Brothers HC. I saw it in London - been racking my brains trying to think who was in it. I know David Cassidy played the lead - it might even have been Linda Nolan who played the mother there as well. It's a great show isn't it? I love musicals myself - I quite miss living in London I must say.

I think I'm suffering from serious PFB syndrome. The nursery gave Aidan a Petit Filou today after his lunch and I'm bothered about it because of the sugar content and "inappropriate" fruit that I've not allowed him to have yet. DH thinks I'm being stupid. Probably...

Sorry for everyone I've missed. Better go and stir the dinner I suppose.

KZ - can't see your photos - just get a blank screen.

The puking has only been 10 days or so and has not been every day so it is not that bad - doctor said he thought he had a respiratory infection and we had to let it run it's course - I can only think that he has had 2 or 3 colds etc one after another so never really recovered - I shall see how he gets on.

Re sleeping on tummy - I had this worry a while ago on here and I think the consensus is that if they can lift their head, and get themselves into that position, then they are fine - Josh seems to prefer to sleep that way now.

FirstAtForty · 07/03/2007 22:21

Oh Kayzed, gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous, and the children are lovely too

MaeWest · 08/03/2007 08:12

I am a new woman! Last night DS slept MUCH better. I went to bed early and DH was able to settle DSbwhen he roused at about 11pm. Fed DS around 3.30am, and he then slept until about 20 mins ago! Woohoo! Am espcially pleased as recently DS has been refusing to be comforted by his dad, which is disheartening for him an knackering for me. Also first time has woken up chatting rather than grizzling for a while, so lovely to hear.

KZ - your kids are gorgeous . Your DS looks so grown up now too.

IamBlossom · 08/03/2007 08:46

hurray maewest, it makes a such a difference doesn't it? i too had a great night's sleep, and DH got a kiss and a goodbye this morning from DS1 so he went off happy. Phew.

Lovely pics KZ, I'm going to try and get one like ures of the boys lying opposite upside down like that I think it's lovely! I'm with you on the added sugar thing. My DS1 hardly ever has choc, never has sweets, prefers grapes and strawbs to cake and drinks water and very weak squash. I have always been very precious about it, my DH's husband can't understand it.....mind you I can't understand how my SIL is ok about her 4 yer old having cavities in his teeth so hey ho! can you beleive that? I would be devastated.....her dentist said you must be feeding him too much sugar, and she said he hardly ever has it, only for puddings!!! WTF??

Such a gorgeous day again today,we have a nature walk this morning, organised by the local forestry commission in the woods, and I have a girls night out tonight hurrah!! Muchos crispy duck and dodgy wine! Very excited.

Have great days girls.

bloss- hope things start to get better with ds and you dh!

kz- lovely pics!! they both have so much hair!! the e3 looks so nice and compact!

MaeWest · 08/03/2007 12:44

OK people, breaking PFB news......

A tooth has been spotted on DS's lower gum. His mother MaeWest (29), noticed a 'tapping' noise whilst the boy was fannying around with his sippy cup at lunchtime. On further investgation by maternal digit, tooth was confirmed. Maewest is now (gingerly) giving him his lunchtime bf

OP posts:
PavlovtheCat · 08/03/2007 12:48

Mae - did you have a better night? I hope so hun. As to cildless friends - i know what you mean. Lots of empty promises at the beginning to baby sit, and has anyone actually been able? not likely. Oh and get this...a male friend came round a while ago, said...'you guys have got to get a baby sitter sorted for 9th March, X's (partner) birthday, having a party, you both have to be there, no excuses, have not seen you both out together for a long time'. hello!!! So, this week, get5 a text saying, 'going to Hub for Hip-hop night for birthday. Gonna be a blast, you better both be there'. FFS. And I dont even like hop-hop that much, unless I am extremely drunk .

Oh and thanks for the ^bold italic tip! I shall use this too much now too .

Oh, and to use it appropriately - *i am NOT pg!! - the wagon wheel and nut butter idea was actually DPs! I am feeling a little broody tho...however dont have time/energy to make another baby right now let alone look after another one!

PavlovtheCat · 08/03/2007 12:48

It doesnt work! did I do it wrong?
this it?

PavlovtheCat · 08/03/2007 12:49

YEY

let me try that again!

I am not pg!!!!

PavlovtheCat · 08/03/2007 12:49

Oh, I see, you go to do it for each word!

HumphreysCorner · 08/03/2007 21:18

Evening ladies

Pavlov - DOH What on earth is hip-hop? Lordy-am so old.

kayzed-superb pics and what a novel pushchair. Haven't seen one like that before-luckily DD1 was 3 when Sophie was born so was able to walk everywhere. Bummer about the blanket though Sophie sleeps on her tummy on her gym mat.

Mae-you sound soooo much brighter today and watch out for that tooth as the biting is just dreadful. Was ready to give up BF yesterday but she hasn't bitten today thank goodness.

Bloss-hope your DH is OK. I often feel rejected as DD1 only wants Daddy all the time. Making your own cake Bloss? I'm getting mine made-again.

Well, Sophie has been pukesville today. Went to see my friend who has a large cream mat on her laminate floor. Did suggest she put a cover down as the pukester was in full flow-projectile every 10 minutes. It was very watery though so don't know what is going on. Going to introduce sandwiches at the weekend when I have more time. At least they won't produce orange sick-lol!

Am still tired from my rare night out so will be having an early one. Have the most awful AF pains but still no AF. Is bound to return soon being as though Sophie isn't interested in milk.

Feeling a bad mother as DD1 has cake and chocolate and the odd sweet. Have tried to cut the packets of buttons out but she isn't having any of it. Does have sugar free squash which I have reduced somewhat.

That's all folks-am yawning too much so struggling to function.
