Quick poll - Do you prefer these, Pair A or these, Pair B

OP posts:
GreedyGecko · 30/03/2007 12:22

pair B for me Rodeo

GreedyGecko · 30/03/2007 12:30

this pushchair I got excied when I saw Mickey Mouse.

Londoner · 30/03/2007 14:31

Hi,

Kl pushchair GG, what a bargain!
Well rodeo, reckon same as GG, pair B, more sassy, the other pair are more practical but hey what the hell... go for the super sassy pair.
ChaCha, yes my ds2 had clouds of blond curls until we cut them off, now brown with a bit of a wave, but still utterly gorg as will Z be what ever his hair does.... personally I just snip at it to keep it out of their eyes/ears etc. lol at the washing on line, I'm with ya.
Nova, surprised hv referring at this stage, think it's really common and doesn't sound like you're over using the dummy at all. Know I'm always banging on about it but a friend of mine took her 2 yr old to OCC(cranial osteopath) for same thing and she didn't know whether coincidence or not but he said his first word directly after 1st treatment, might be worth investigating. Like others say, does she babble/look at you when you talk?
Hi beks in case you're out there!
Hey bb, what about those pics then? Glad T's eye is on the mend.
Diege, how'd you get on?
love to all. Have great weekends now!

Londoner · 30/03/2007 14:33

Hi fh and km too!

Londoner · 30/03/2007 14:53

Nova, could be wrong but think you might be able to help me... have wanted a pair of loafers for years now but not your average 'ladies' pair more like 50's classic loafer, am sure they used to be called baswegians in the 80's or something? Thanks.

Karmamother · 30/03/2007 14:59

Hi Londoner. I didn't realise cranial osteopathy could help with speech too, Wow!

Rodeo, I initially thought pair A but it depends what image you're going for. Pair B definately more sexy. I can't believe your Zapp is worn out. How long have you had it? I've had mine a few months & I hope to have it till she doesn't need it. Ella does that shoe thing too. She loves picking them up when they have guinea pig poo on the soles[disgusted emoticon]

GG Love the pushchair. Are you going for it?

Well, must dash, Ella is bringing me the contents of the fridge.

feetheart · 30/03/2007 15:07

Well we enjoyed the party and as predicted I spent most of the time chasing A - there is a huge slide there which he loves so that's where we spent nearly an hour!! I've definitely had my work-out for today and A is fast asleep

Brownie - you have a good way with swear words! I seem to remember 'buggery, buggery, arse' being one of yours that still makes me giggle

Rodeo - I'd go for Pair B if you can walk in them but I'm rubbish at stillettos so I'd buy Pair A! Then again, I tend to go for a lower heel as I tower over people as it is!

Nova - LOL at the comb-over!!
How much signing did you do with Noo? Friend of mine only did a bit with her DS, felt he wasn't getting it and got pg again so gave up. About 6 mths later he suddenly signed 'cat' at her when he had never signed it before!! May very well all still be in there if you want to take it up again. Don't think there is any cut-off for learning it.
I do agree that it must have been a slow day for HV. Have you had any concerns about Noo? Everyone is different, T was talking quite a lot by this stage, A isn't.
Also agree that using a dummy at night is hardly likely to hinder her speech, unless she talks in her sleep!
Hope it hasn't made you worry too much.
Gene does sound yummy and IKWYM about finding him funny, they seem so small but so perfectly human in comparison to the bigger one. And you have much more idea of what to do with them so can spend the time admiring them rather than worrying about what to do next. Keep enjoying it

Right, need to cook bolognese so it has a good 2 hours to simmer and taste yummy.

Rodeo · 30/03/2007 20:00

Evening!
Thanks for your opinions girls! They'll be tucking jeans in, going out boots Don't do heels in the day!
Karma - been using the zapp (frame part anyway) since she was born it's not so much worn out, just a bit loose and rattly IYKWIM! Don't worry I'm sure you'll get plenty of wear out of yours!
GG - LOL at you, a fellow ebayer! Bargain!
Feetheart, yum! Spag bol! Glad A enjoyed party, you may need an early night too!
Hi Londoner, looking forward to the Easter hols? Our's broke up for them today, how about yours? We're coming for a family day out to London actually, on the 10th April, coming to see the dinosaur bones!
Oh, I've added a few recent pictures of Jess to our Yahoo, I realised the other day that she's bald in the latest pics on there, they're from last July!
Have lovely weekends everyone x

Brownie, series link it. (green button in the personal planner menu)

One of my friends got a new zapp from ebay for £70 with free postage

GreedyGecko · 30/03/2007 20:21

Sorry Rodeo, meant to say how much J has grown up, love those curls.

Londoner · 30/03/2007 20:58

Hi,
Rodeo, yes, think I am looking forward to the hols (broke up today too) only am really struggling to get a school morning routine that 'works' at the moment, big time, it's a bit of a disaster tbh so am slightly frustrated not to be able to get on top of it...... sheeesh that makes noo sense, have landed bump back in the world of the living this week with first af since E, incredible I know, boy these hormones are a challenge and a half feel about as excited as a limp lettuce leaf lol. How about you guys? NH Museum is great idea, must see if I can get mine to at least one museum these hols too.
So which boots'll you go for d'you think?
Hi yourself KM.

ChaCha · 30/03/2007 23:03

Nova - at H/V!! Make sure you send Noo to spend the day with her when she won't sit quietly for a second What do they expect..? Also found what Karma said interesting about how the adults converse at home.

Rodeo - I would go for A.

Can't remember all the replies i had in mind from when i read posts earlier in the day sorry. DH out at 8am and home at 7.30pm, had his dinner and then studied until now so am pretty much shattered, is a very long day and my scar is aching - quite worried about it too.

I have so much to say about DS1 right now, he is the most amazing little creature i've ever come across. I didn't think i'd ever love something this much. Am feeling v.emotional this evening - we are so blessed to have children, they are just angels

Should try and get a hot drink

novadandypowder · 31/03/2007 17:00

sorry one handed today as angry little man wriggling in other arm..

noo babbles a lot, but doesn't form any recognisable words, and has even given up on mumma and dadda sounds. Everything she says is 'buh' or made up of sounds that start with B. We said goodbye to the dummies this morning and so far she's been unable to sleep, the poor thing. Hopefully it'll only take a couple of days for her to forget about them. Needless to say, we're not going down that road with gene.

Chacha - I'm the reverse, I'm finding noo very hard to deal with most of the time, and want to spend all my time with gene. DH keeps telling me off for being mean to her, but she really tries my patience.

novadandypowder · 31/03/2007 17:47

Must say, I'm not that mean, I just don't tolerate her throwing food and toys across the room/at us, or hitting us which has become a problem since we brought gene home. That, and the constant whining, whinging, and tantrumming drive me crazy.

Karmamother · 31/03/2007 20:38

Evening all,

Nova, sounds familiar! They learn pretty quick how to push your buttons, don't they? I think second siblings grow up to be quite patient as mum is usually sorting out other disputes! Sometimes a little 'time out' comes in handy. I know I needed it with DS when I felt I was getting too cross with him. If that doesn't work, there's always merlot.

Chacha, aw, I felt a bit emotional just reading your post. It's a wonderful age they're at right now. I'm sure God made this bit so much fun so that we can handle the stroppiness & tantrums. Have you been doing too much lately? How is the shed coming on? Wish we had one.

Londoner, I bet AF was a bit of a . Mine came at 4 months & I felt robbed. Thought I'd get a bit longer than that. Is E still lovin' that booby?

Rodeo, When I first used my Zapp, I hadn't done a trial run at home so I ended up wrestling with the bloody thing in a car park. Hope I wasn't caught. Had DS with me so had to keep swearing to a minimum, ha ha.

We are all full of bugs today. Whilst I was wallowing in self-pity on the sofa, Ella was busy helping herself to the box of tissues. She presented me with an empty box. We've had some very messy sneezes today.

Rodeo · 31/03/2007 21:22

Evening!
Urg, Karma, we had our bugs last week, still finding tissues stuffed behind cushions now! Get better soon
Nova - There must be something in the air at the moment, J is being a piglet too, well on her way to becoming a fully fledged stroppy toddler! The main thing that drives her into a mental at the moment is being brought in from outside, even though she's blue and frozen! She does that thing where she seems to dislocate her shoulders so she can slip straight through my arms, highly irritating! Good luck with dummy removals
Aw Chacha, you tired emotional wreck you! Just kidding! Karma's right it's amazing how you can switch from getting so annoyed with them to bursting with love for them It's just the same as they get older!
Londoner, urgh, AF...the first 6ish of mine were horrendous, getting slightly better as the months go by, hope it finishes soon! My mum, who is v. close to the menopause, is getting hers every 14 days , so we've got that to look forward too
Speak tomorrow x

BrownieBells · 31/03/2007 21:24

Hello!
Right - I have now loaded 3 new photos on Yahoo - one is of the "new do", it is not a good pic of me, but it kinda shows the hair off....sort of

FH - yes, I have a language all of my own People often say that I come out with lots of "Emma-isms"!! Well, Planet Emma is a wonderful place where lots of special people live you know I can come out with more if you like.....

Nova - you are doing grand hon - my patience gets tried with Thomas, and I;ve only got the one!! Think we have more teeth on the way actually, cos he is drool city at the moment...He had a mammoth 2 hour nap this afternoon (totally unexpcted!) and my Mum & Nanna (from oop North near Diege!) had popped in to see him, and the little blighter slept for most of the visit! Anyway, consequently he didn't go down to bed till gone 7, so am hoping he sleeps in a little later tomorrow morning - that'd be nice as it's my turn for the early shift tomorrow (as DH has gone out on the lash for a few scoops tonight with some mates!)

What news on the job Diege?

One more week left till I can troff chocolate - gave it up for lent (don't ask why!) and now know I can't eat it, I want it so bad!!....Roll on Easter - I am not even expensive, just a small, simple cadbury button egg will do me - not keen on fancy chocolate (eugh!)

Hello to all not mentioned, trust you are all having a fab weekend...

Brownie
xx

BrownieBells · 31/03/2007 21:32

Crossed posts Rodeo....Thomas also hates being brought in from outside...he has started to throw a wobbler if you tell him he can't have his wellies on and go outside (this evening, just before bed for example!)

He loves the garden, moving stones from one area and lobbing them onto the patio!

He also loves to stand on my blanket chest thing and look out of our bedroom window, waving at cars and pointing at brids- a turbo-strop ensues if we say he can't because it's too early to open the curtains because Mummy / Daddy haven't got dressed yet!

Nova - also at the HV - Thomas doesn't say any truly recognisable words either really, but does a lot of "Gah"-ing and uh-oh and so on...he too has a dummy, but not permanently obviously, primarily when he is tired or when he goes and gets it himself.
My god daughter was almost taken to a SALT, as she just did a lot of pointing and "uhing" (again highly intelligent with the comprehension) but as it turned out, she simply skipped the baby talk phase and went more or less to complete sentences (kind of backs up what Karma was saying?)
Anyway, don't fret, am sure when Noo turns round and tells her she's a sticky Beak and to keep her nose out, she'll sheepishly beggar off!!

Diege · 01/04/2007 10:14

Hello! Got back from Cambridge last night, and it wasn't too bad at all . Made a real effort to chat and strike up conversations, and most of the time (!) it was fine . A large number of delegates didn't speak English, but overall really threw myself into it! Thanks for all your advice - it really helped, esp. KARMA and the TA experiences! Have to say Cambridge is gorgeous, and I felt really proud to be talking about my research at Queens' College.
Have just had a quick skim through evryone's news, and admit to being a little at your HV NOVA!!! Libby says 'dada' but that's about all really. Lots of noises and chattery sounds, but no real words as such. I certainly won't be acting on any referrel if we get one, as dd1 was the same and was 2 before she formed any real words other than 'mama' 'dada'. Hi to everyone, and I'm off to have a look at the piccies on yahoo

novadandypowder · 01/04/2007 19:24

Glad the conference went well Diege, you sound very bouyed up by it .

I'm actually quite happy to have the HV referral, I was getting worried about her lack of speech and hope I'll be able to get some tips on how to encourage noo with word forming. We're not doing too bad without the dummies either, she reached under her pillow for it last night but managed to get off to sleep ok without it, and the same tonight. She still has her snuggle rug so she's not entirely comforter-less, although she's still having problems going down for her afternoon nap.

Loving the pictures on Yahoo, I think noo and J look quite similar. Great hair BB, did you say it was curly?? You've done a very good job of making it sleek if so, and it's a lovely colour too.

BrownieBells · 02/04/2007 20:16

Hello!
Thanks Nova - yes it is naturally curly/wavy - although strangely, the longer it gets, the curlier it gets, so having it cut shorter, seems to have helped! Had straightend it with my recently purchased ghds! (oh, and it needed a wash! ). Thanks for the colour compliment - that bit is natural, as haven't had it coloured for over a year now!

Well, T has been out of sorts over the weekend - once again am putting it down to his teeth! His appetite has not been the greatest (a sure fine he's under the weather! ) and he hasn't been sleeping too well either - quite disturbed nights...

On a postive note though, one of my best friends has just moved back into the area, and she has a little girl who is about 4 months older than T, so we had a fab morning, as they came over and we played in the garden...We are now hoping to make it a regular thing (she also has bub no. 2 on the way!), anyway, it's nice to re-kindle old friendships, and it would be nice for the little ones to grow up together too....

Beks - hope you are ok, long time no hear, so hope you are doing ok, and bearing up...big hugs to you and yours....

Diege - any news on the job front yet?

Rodeo - how goes it with you chick?

Chacha, GG Londoer. FH Karma and all others....Hope you all had fab weekends...

Diege · 02/04/2007 22:02

Hello! Just a quickie before bed, so to speak . Glad to hear you're happy with the referral NOVA, makes all the difference ; I remember being referred for dd1s hearing (they didn't have the newborn test then)and throwing a mega-strop . BROWNIE: agree with NOVA, hair is luvverly , and glad to see you have the GHD bug too! Re: the job, the offical deadline has now passed for consultation, so we'll all hear from the head after we get back from Easter hols (2 wks time). In the meantime I'm applying for another job at NEWI (GG: your (Welsh) neck of the woods!). I'm already doing some research with staff there, so am taking my application form in tommorrow . Fingers crossed!!!
RODEO: yes, love J's curls - wow, what a headfull! Oh and on the questionnaires front, feel really awful about you putting an extra stamp on . I think another one would do it (if you can be bothered), but I would insist on compensating you through paypal. No arguments!!!!
Right, have just remembered I need to let work know my holidays , so off to send a late night e-mail!

ChaCha · 02/04/2007 22:29

Just had a look at Y group - lovely pics, J is looking so grown up and beautiful, T a real handsome little charmer and BB your hair looks fab - well done.

Talk soon x

Rodeo · 03/04/2007 13:57

Hello
Thank you for your comments on the pics all!
Diege! Glad the conference was a success!Fingers crossed for your job application, where's NEWI? And don't be daft about this paypal nonsense! Makes up for me being so slow at giving them out!
Brownie - great to hear about your friend moving nearby! She'll make you broody
Nova - well done on the dummy front! I'm getting twitchy about J's need for her bottles of milk, I've tried giving her allsorts of beakers (which she drinks fine from in the day) but at bedtimes and naps she just screams, I know I should persevere but keep putting it off! I think J & Noo look similar too
Brownie, agree hair looks lovely! Love pics of T too
Took dd1 up to the stables to help me muck out this morning and she did surprisingly well Filling water buckets and haynets, as well as getting stuck in with the poo shovelling!
I've just been whiling away time on MySpace, a lad from the stables has just put his page up and was desperate for us to look at it! Don't really get it (I'm obv. far too old!) But also found my friend's 16yo ds, who's page is named 'Josh aka Hero - Sumfin of a Legend' LOL who's 'friends' include -x-SexyGemma-x- & xxxSexyBeksxxx! Ooh what we've got to look forward to! Speak later x
