Don't think we have a thread yet so here we are!

Ds arrived here 18/10 @ 5am one day before due date

Lillian I'm bottle feeding. He tries to chew the teats when feeding because his gums are so sore. Hands in the mouth the rest of the time.

Afreshstartplease · 12/02/2017 11:11

No sleep regression yet

Ds generally sleeps 8.30-6ish, stiring for dummy once or twice between 4-6

He's getting rosey cheeks now and chomping on dummy and bottle so I suspect teeth aren't far off

We've got hands in mouth here too so I suspect we're not far - tried to give her Sophie the Giraffe but she stuck her tongue out at it.

Fresh 8.30-6 is amazing! We were doing 11-5am which I was happy enough with but that's all gone out the window with the sleep regression and she is back to her 3 hourly wake ups and then some! Can't wait til it's over Confused

Afreshstartplease · 13/02/2017 10:30

Ds favorite thing to chew seems to be his sleeve!

I know how lucky I am sleep wise. Aside from DC3 all of mine have been good sleepers from early on

Any babies rolling? Or army crawling?

OP posts:
derryjojo · 13/02/2017 19:17

DS has been sleeping 8 -8. I know this is unheard of and I'm so lucky. Just praying that he doesn't have a 4 month regression.
No rolling here yet. DS has a Pavlik harness so can't even attempt to try and roll.

Afreshstartplease · 14/02/2017 06:41

Aww bless him derry how much longer is he in the harness for?

OP posts:
derryjojo · 14/02/2017 11:24

Fresh hopefully he will get it off in April. That's when we see the consultant anyway. He'll have had it on for 14 weeks at that stage.

Afreshstartplease · 14/02/2017 11:25

Gosh that's a long time!

OP posts:
derryjojo · 14/02/2017 12:02

It is, but it doesn't seem to bother him too much. The biggest hassle is we can't take it off to give him a bath.

LillianFullStop · 20/02/2017 21:28

Oh wow Derry and fresh that sleep is amazing! Rolling front to back during tummy time - gosh no crawling yet I hope!!

Hope all goes well to get the harness off in April derry

Any LO dealing with dry skin this winter? I'm hoping it's not eczema!

Afreshstartplease · 21/02/2017 11:05

Ds gets a little bit of dry skin on his feet

Old three have all had bits of eczema to different extents so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a bit too

derryjojo · 23/02/2017 11:54

DS gets a lot of dry skin on his face: he also still has a lot of cradle cap

Newmother8668 · 24/02/2017 06:59

Rolling both sides and each way for me. He can tripod sit on his own and sit unassisted for a minute now. Going through sleep regression and it's pure hell. Now he's sleeping well at night but fights every nap and only sleeps for 30 minutes!!

Afreshstartplease · 24/02/2017 07:22

Ds has some cradle cap. I use dentinox shampoo it does help

No rolling here or sitting

Newmother we've been in the sleeping nightmare for a couple of weeks I hope we're at the tail end now. Sleeping 5-6 hour stretches again (it went back to 3 with the regression) but same here naps are fussy and short - most frustrating is that sometimes the nap is only as long as it took me to put them down...! Or her new thing she likes to do which I'm trying to kick ... she takes a nap while breastfeeding - wakes up and is wide awake again!

What are you all using for the dry skin? I'm using Aveeno Baby and it's mostly working ok but there are some stubborn patches that could do with something heavier. Still a bit of cradle cap left too.

She's also been rolling from back to front when on her play gym... which freaks me out a bit because depending on the position of her arm she can't always roll back onto her back. She's sleeping unswaddled now though because of the rolling.

Afreshstartplease · 26/02/2017 07:58

For dry skin I've been using either a Johnson's natural cream or just Vaseline

OP posts:
Newmother8668 · 26/02/2017 11:50

Lillian, my baby has never slept big stretches except at the start for about five hours and then up every two hours. Now it's every three hours throughout and I'm so happy. He's starting to sleep into the morning more but his naps are still short though he's fighting a lot less. I noticed one or two naps stretching to 40 minutes, so I reckon just another week or so to go with this. I suffered the full four or five weeks of it. The growth spurts and this sleep regression make me realise I won't have another baby. I'm too old and too exhausted now!

Newmother8668 · 26/02/2017 11:52

No dry skin. I just use Johnsons massage lotion every day and oil on his head and sudocream in his fat roll cracks. He's got my skin, so I'm happy that no eczema or dry skin! At least I got one thing out of this baby stuff!

LillianFullStop · 01/03/2017 16:43

Hope sleep regression almost over for you newmother - but consider yourself lucky with the good skin! I think it's affecting LO's sleep maybe she is itchy or something!

Thinking of starting swimming lessons I hope it doesn't make her skin worse.

Newmother8668 · 01/03/2017 17:45

Ah, go for it! My LO loves his swimming! I got him a wetsuit that works real well! Try baby oil after the lotion. It helps seal it all in!

Nickname1980 · 07/03/2017 06:49

Hi all! I haven't posted in a while. Good to read all your babies are doing well!

Are anyone's babies in a sort of routine? If so, what is it and when do they nap / feed?

We're in a bit of a random whatever. And he only sleeps on me (or in his cot at night for 3-hr stretches). I'm pretty exhausted!

Afreshstartplease · 07/03/2017 07:24

Gosh nickname that sounds hard

Ds is in a routine I would say

He feeds at 6 am and 9am then between 12-1pm
He then feeds at 4 and 7/8pm

Up at 6, bed about 830
Has a nap and a nappy change between each feed

Newmother we went for the swim class and DD was unsure at first but I think she enjoyed it in the end! Will see how the second lesson goes.

Nickname we're not in a routine yet either. Takes forever to get DD down for the night - most nights it's 10.30 or 11pm before she goes down which writes off my evenings. Naps are a nightmare with her only wanting to nap while on the boob or if I'm out and about with her on the sling. The few times I've managed to get her napping in her cot it's through trickery and she wakes up pretty cranky about being tricked! It really really is quite exhausting and frustrating. I really enjoy my DD and she's so lovable and funny but naptimes are a nightmare with her screaming and I really dread it like: "here we go again!" It's really wearing me down!

fresh you are sooooo lucky!

Nickname1980 · 09/03/2017 11:01

lilian - the same here! Only naps on the boob or in the sling. I keep trying to tell myself to slow down and enjoy this... but I have other dc so it's hard.

Anyone any idea how I can get a baby to nap in his cot?! He wakes up the instant I put him down. I've tried white noise and movement but neither work...

Was wondering about something like a sleepyhead?

fresh - how did you do it?!

LillianFullStop · 10/03/2017 09:13

Nickname I try to tell myself that too, all the advice says it's just a phase! But those times DD can't be soothed and I know she just wants the boob to sleep even if she's not hungry because I've just fed her and I have things I need to be getting on with at home like take a bloody shower I can't help but feel frustrated!! I can imagine it's even harder for you with other DC!!!

Let's hope for our sakes that it is a phase - I don't mind nursing her to sleep at all in the evenings and night feeds. What I don't like is she wants to stay on the boob for the entirety of her 40 minute naps during the day!
