Q good luck for tomorrow.

trinpy what a shame about the test, I hate tests. Still, you never know. I will be keeping everything crossed for you!

time you poor thing, that sounds really tough. I hope she settled down to sleep quickly, and that you have managed to have some you time this evening.

DS's food intake today has been awful! Breakfast was fine, he had weetabix and my homemade apple and prune purée which he adores! At lunchtime he had a meltdown because he was tired so we had to give up and he went up for a nap. He had half an apple and mango pouch and a petit filous when he woke up, and then for dinner he had literally one bite of eggy bread. Argh! It's also been a real struggle to get him to drink his milk. I'm hoping it's just that he has been poorly and that it will improve soon. He's not a baby who will grab food from you, but he usually seems to enjoy his meals. I think I'm just overthinking it a bit, he got weighed today and has dropped from the 50th to the 25th thingy. HV wasn't concerned at all but I am! I suppose this is it now, a lifetime of worry!

DomesticAnarchist · 11/11/2016 05:50

DS2 has slept through! Yay, I've had a whole night's sleep! But oh man my boobs...!

MrsElls · 11/11/2016 06:20

time you are suposed to brush as soon as they appear but I have been incredibly lax this time, poos.

trinpy don't give up yet, they clearly liked your application enough to interview you.

dom its so annoying when baby sleeps and its your boobs keeping you awake. I'd still take the sleep though your boobs will get used to it eventually.

Timetogrowup2016 · 11/11/2016 07:16

She slept 7:15-6:45 .
How can she link sleep cycles and self settle at night and not nap well ?
She allresdy self settles for naps so I don't get what the issue is tbh

DomesticAnarchist · 11/11/2016 16:10

DS2 sometimes has very little nap-wise. One nap yesterday, I think. But his temperament is reasonable with it!

So I last fed him at 6ish this morning, and have given up the pumping, and have the most painful engorged norks. Managed to convince him to feed from one, he's refusing the other. At DS1's swimming lesson so can't pump yet. Confused

Me624 · 11/11/2016 19:17

Sympathies Time. A health visitor told me that babies' sleep at night and naps during the day are completely different kettles of fish and it's quite normal for them to be good at one and not the other, to self settle for one and not the other etc. My DS has always settled himself really easily at bedtime (and sometimes but not always for nighttime wakings) yet has to be rocked to sleep and then transferred into the cot for naps or there's no chance of him going down. It must be hard for you to have a grizzly DD all day, but at least the fact that she sleeps well at night now must be some small consolation. Are you planning on going back to work at any point?

Dom hope your boobs didn't explode!

Ds's diarrhoea finally appears to be clearing up after 10 days! Three soft and pasty but not watery or splat-up-the-backy poos today!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 11/11/2016 20:30

Sympathies time. Dd2 often sleep refuses and I find it a nightmare.

Congrats on the sleeping though indom. Dd2 didn't feed at all last night and i think she would have slept through but dd1 woke us all up at 1am being sick. Nightmare. Was a bit stressed as off to a wedding tomorrow but shes seemed fine today so must have just been a one off. Typical that it would happen on the one day dd2 sleeps well. Bet she'll be a nightmare tonight!

Dd2 is a bit constipated poor baby. She hasn't been uncomfortable but not pooed in a few days. Then today was really crying when I was changing her nappy and started doing a poo and while she was pooing she bled a bit Sad should I take her to the GP? I can almost certainly get an appointment on Monday but not sure about over the weekend as we're away. She's fine in herself other than when she's doing a poo Confused

QforCucumber · 11/11/2016 20:32

Thanks for the well wishes all, interview seemed to go well. Been invited back for a 2nd on Tuesday so fingers crossed. Typically this week I've spoken to my manager about my return and she emailed me with dates today so I'm going to have to not reply until I know if I'm actually going back or not!

Oh dom congratulations on a full nights sleep, I do not miss swollen boobs one bit! Ds has been fully ff for 2 months now and though I miss bf every single day and feel wracked with guilt for stopping I then remember how fussy he got and how nosy he was at everything else and remember it was best for us both to stop.

Trinpy · 11/11/2016 21:08

Yay q well done! That's great news. And good that they told you so quickly that you got through to the next stage of interviews so quickly. I won't hear back about mine until next week!

Oh your poor dd Marmite. Have you tried all the usual things to help the constipation? If it was me then I'd see what she's like tomorrow and see if theres any more bleeding or she seems in pain.

Congratulations on the sleeping baby Dom Envy. I'm about 80% happy for you and 20% horribly jealous. I could probably get it to 90/10 if you tell me your secret to getting a baby to sleep through the night though Wink. Hope you managed to get home and pump before you got too engorged!

Glad to hear that the diarrhoea is coming to an end now me. That didn't sound much fun for either of you.

Swearwolf · 11/11/2016 21:31

Fingers crossed for you both Q and trinpy!!! I'm just going through all the back to work stuff myself and wish I was applying for jobs, but I'm facing going back to my job. I've applied to drop down from 4 to 3 days and I think it's going to be rejected. I had to go in for a meeting with hr and my useless manager yesterday, he hadn't prepared anything and was completely unable to say whether the team would be able to accommodate it or not. Now I just have to wait to hear their decision, and I don't know what I'll do if they say no. I don't want to leave my girl at all anyway, but I especially don't want to leave them on a Friday because ds doesn't have preschool that day so I'll be paying two lots of childcare, which will wipe out what I earn that day, effectively working for nothing on that day. In a job I don't like. Urgh.

Sorry you're still struggling so much with naps time, I'd also heard about day and night time sleep being completely separate, that you should keep the room bright in the day and plenty of background noise etc.

Sorry to everyone with poop troubles, we have them here too, weeks of constipation then four poos today. Madness.

And no teeth here either! Plenty of dribbles and biting though.

QforCucumber · 11/11/2016 21:55

Fingers crossed for you too trinpy I got myself all confused, the interview today was at an engineering recruitment company so not the term time only one but one with fantastic progression options so if I am offered I think id take it over the tto one anyway. Interview for school position is next week. Argh.

Oh marmite sounds horrid, for both of you. When ds has suffered a pouch of ellas prune puree and offering lots of water has helped.

Oh swear how terribly frustrating for you. I've been smp only throughout mat leave so have no reason to need to return if I'm offered something else luckily, I'm more nervous about giving notice than the interviews. I really hope that they agree to your request - even if it's our of guilt for not being prepared haha!

DomesticAnarchist · 12/11/2016 05:03

He's done it again. I shouldn't complain but I'm downstairs pumping. Come on boobs, catch up!

1frenchfoodie · 12/11/2016 09:10

That is great DomI am still in the stage of DD not drinking enough from bottles while I am at work so she is waking for a feed where she used to sleep through. What do you think has sorted it for you - more solids or just being equally happy to drink from boob or bottle?

Fingers crossed Q and Trinpy. I start a new role in January - in Paris of all places - and am really looking forward to a fresh start.

Plenty of teeth here, nos 4 and 5 almost through but I remember my niece had none til after 9 months so it can vary wildly. DD is quite literally biting off more than she can chew most meals as I don't think she is used to top and bottom teeth.

Hope the constipation eases marmite, we pretty much have the opposite here so no tips though I have heard many people swear by prunes. And liquids of course.

DomesticAnarchist · 12/11/2016 09:19

1french it seems to have coincided with eating more solid food. I didn't do anything differently. If anything he's reduced the formula he's taking.

He's also just refused the breast. He fed happily first thing, but was adamant his second feed this morning would be a bottle! I've gone with it, it might sort my issues out at work on Monday!

He's drained 7+oz I'd pumped yesterday and this morning. I'll have to take some formula out with us!

Ohwoolballs · 12/11/2016 21:18

Way to go Q on the second interview, you clearly have the personality they are looking for - much more important than box ticking on paper.

Dom congrats on the sleeping through and baby that is fine with a bottle. So jealous!

Those who are still breastfeeding and have babes with no teeth, be happy! I have teeny tiny teeth scabs and love bites around when G comfort nibbles. He's getting a stern telling off when he does it. I can't believe the poor guy has six teeth, it looks so strange on such a relatively small baby.

I got one of the Munchkin 360 cups, going to crack on with it tomorrow!

DomesticAnarchist · 12/11/2016 22:29

Thanks OhWool. I've been back at work since the first week in September so he's had long enough to get used to the bottle. Took a good few weeks though.

My 360 cups arrived the other day. DS2 won't even entertain the idea of them!

DomesticAnarchist · 13/11/2016 09:08

He didn't sleep through again! He's got yet another cough that kept us both awake 2-3:30. Still, two nights was more than I had hoped for.

Trinpy · 13/11/2016 10:27

If he's sttn twice now Dom I'm sure he will again once his cough goes. I must be very sleep deprived because I read that your 360 cups had come and thought 'why does she need so many cups?!'. I think I need another coffee...

wool how's your ds with a sippy cup? I'm concentrating my efforts on getting ds2 used to drinking water from that and then he can have sips of milk during the day while I'm out at work. I won't be going back until next year though so if all else fails he can just last out until I'm home again.

Wow working in Paris will be amazing french! What do you work as?

I'm putting ds2's recent crap sleep down to a regression because last night was much better. He made it until 2am in his cot then he started crying and I could hear ds1 stirring so I got The Fear and just put him in our bed to keep him quiet! I'm working on getting him to stay in his cot for a little bit longer every night until he's used to it.

DomesticAnarchist · 13/11/2016 10:53

I'm not going to hold my breath! DS1 did it once, but not again reliably till he was over 1!

1frenchfoodie · 13/11/2016 15:40

Trinpy I work in corporate governance and will be joining an all French team, slightly worried my wardrobe will not stack up against my chic Parisienne colleagues.

Dom , fingers crossed he's not been swapping sleep tales with DS1, it is your turn for a good sleeper 😄. DD has had 2 new teeth come through in the last few days and is full of cold so all hope of sleeping through is on hold.

Ohwool eek, sounds painful. i've had the odd nip from DD who now has 6 teeth but nowhere near hard enough to leave a mark!

Ohwoolballs · 13/11/2016 18:57

french congrats on the new job! I'm sure you will be wearing the chic beret like the best of them in no time at all. He has only nibbled a few times when he was a bout to drop off, a loud OW seems to be working so far! I think my nips are basically having to harden up since we've used nipple shields all this time until a tooth appeared.

Dom if he's done it twice he will do it again. Also Trinpy we had a bit of success with the cup this evening as in G actually got a sip and went back for more which he hasn't done with anything else. Though at lunch time I did get over enthusiastic and conk his face with it and he started sobbing so I felt awful for that. Sad The 360 is pretty nifty, I wonder if they do adult thermal mugs......

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/11/2016 10:11

Congrats on the job French !

I'm back at work in 3 weeks Confused technically two but taking annual leave. Then Dh is taking two weeks leave then I'll take two then its January and dd2 will be starting nursery.

We're hoping the 360 cup will do for getting dd2 to drink expressed milk . she will very happily drink water from it so hoping she'll be equally fine with milk. We'll see!

Only one wake last night after weeks of horrendous sleep, yay. And it coincided with the cat complaining very loudly outside our/their bedroom door and scratching the carpet as we hadn't put food down for him before we went to bed. So she may well have been woken by the cat which is annoying, but I can't complain too much.

A friend of ours has just had her first baby a week ago and just announced the birth, her ds looks so tiny and cute! Our babies have gotten so big now, its nice but sad at the same time.

TheM3ShipsCameSailingIn · 14/11/2016 11:06

Six weeks till I'm off work for Christmas holidays! Time for the annual festive name change! Grin

So sleep deprived today. Sick DS and wakeful teething DD (she's biting me again while nursing as her top teeth come in, shockingly painful) and I am a total desk zombie.

Me624 · 14/11/2016 13:14

Love the festive name change MShip!

marmite I know what you mean, DS is such brilliant fun but he just looks so grown up now, I get all emotional when I look at the pictures of him when he was teeny tiny and so thin in the face, now he has the biggest chubbiest cheeks ever!

Congrats on the new job french. I don't work with chic Parisiennes thank goodness but I do need to get some new work clothes before I start back at work again in January. I fit back into all my clothes but some of them have seen better days and I feel like I very much need to prove myself again when I get back so I want to look the part!

MrsElls · 14/11/2016 13:29

Took dd to the docs this morning, she's had an awful cough for a couple of weeks but over the weekend she has sounded really wheezy so thought I'd better get her checked out. Typically I was just about to sit everyone down for breakfast when she puked everywhere. Change of outfit for me but luckily she was in pj's still. Then get both kids in the car, go back to lock the door and hear ds shouting, go to get in the car and dd has been sick again all over her pramsuit and the car seat. The only think to do was strip her pram suit off, stick her on the front seat, mop as much of her car seat as I could, stick a vest over the worst wet bit, stick her in a coat and get going. Only to sit down myself and realise I have sick all down my jeans. Oh well, give them a quick wipe and head to the Dr accompanied by a mild smell of sick. Luckily dr said there is nothing on her chest or lungs just a load of crap in her throat so she just needs to get better on her own. She suggested raising one end of the cot but she fidgets so much I expect I would find her head downwards by morning!
