Pixie mine came back the month after I stopped breastfeeding but I only bf for a few days. None now though as I'm on the mini pill. It's bliss!

That's great news maybe. We are struggling with naps today but he's been pretty good mood wise. I think he's destined to be a catnapper of 20 mins or so.

Maybebabybee · 30/07/2016 17:58

And I've just got him down for bed in the cot for the first time in about a week, with minimal whinging.

Having a Wine

Me624 · 30/07/2016 18:16

Yay maybe! Enjoy that well deserved glass of wine. Hopefully you're through the worst of it.

Pixie I only breastfed for 2 weeks and my periods came back around 8 weeks post partum, so 6 weeks after stopping bfing.

DS has been an angel today, we have been with family all day and his cousins have kept him entertained beautifully. It's such a relief when it's like that, I'm so glad we didn't meet up with them on say Monday when he was an utter nightmare!

Maybebabybee · 31/07/2016 08:52

Spoke too soon. He slept ok last night but tried for 2 hours to get him for a nap this am and he just screamed in pain. DP has taken him for a walk.

I feel like the worst mother in the world. I got so frustrated with him.

Trinpy · 31/07/2016 12:38

How often is everyone's babies feeding through the night now? I don't usually bother checking the time/counting the frequency of feeds but did last night and I was really shocked at how much he fed! He had last feed at 7pm and asleep around 7.30, then feeds at 10, 12, 2, and 6 when he got up for the day.

QforCucumber · 31/07/2016 12:59

The last 4/5 nights he was 2 hourly, then all of a sudden last night he slept 9-3, then 3:15-5, 5:15- 7:30. So 2 night feeds.
I'm guessing this was some kind of miracle and we will be back to 2 hourly again tonight.

maybe awful times with the nap fighting, I now admit defeat after 30 mins trying to make Rory nap and if he refuses he goes back in his bouncer chair with a toy and I'll try again after half an hour, find it too stressful otherwise. Don't feel bad for getting frustrated, all of us do.

1frenchfoodie · 31/07/2016 13:21

She has a last feed about 20.30 / 21.00 then feeds around 4.00 and 7.30. This has been the pattern for the last 6 weeks or so though for a week of this she added an extra 2.00 feed.

Timetogrowup2016 · 31/07/2016 14:29

Dd goes to bed about 8-8:30. Wakes at 12-1 for a feed. Sometimes 4-5 and wakes anytime between 5-7 for the day.

Really worried about dd though. Hv not worried but she's just climbing and climbing the centiles.
She was 5 pound 1 oz at birth and is now 15 pound 6 oz at 23.5 weeks and 50th centile. She was born on the 50th centile for her adjusted age and eats about 5-6oz every 3-4 hours in the day. Is this normal ? Is it catch up from being born at 35 weeks.
She's such a chunk now. She wears 6-9 and 9-12 outfits. Can't quite believe it considering how large newborn clothes where on her when she was born

Timetogrowup2016 · 31/07/2016 14:30

Forgot to say-
Maybe - sorry his poor teeth are causing so much trouble for you both .
I am dreading teething. Dd is hard work enough as it is

1frenchfoodie · 31/07/2016 14:52

Time looks like catch-up to me, though a friend's baby worn at a similar weight and time a few weeks before DD us still smaller than her. She is over 16lb at 19 wks and I think she is having a similar amount to drink during the day (we rarely feed bottles so hard to be sure). Some days it is closer to 2.5 between feeds.

Fingers crossed teething is not too bad - DD only had one really grouchy day before the first two came through.

Timetogrowup2016 · 31/07/2016 15:12

Thank you.
I also think I need to get dd weighed less.
Tbh sometimes I'm bored in the week so it's a good walk to the clinic and back.
Here is dd today snoozing next to me on the sofa .
And this is her 5 days after birth !
Where has my baby gone. Al most makes me broody...

trin my DS feeds as much as your little one. I thought it was still quite normal for this age?

On a good night I might get a 4 hour stretch out of him but that's rare. It's usuall down at 7, up at 9, midnight, 3, 4.30 then up for the day any time between 5.30 and 7.

RhubarbAndMustard · 31/07/2016 16:52

What is everyone's ff schedule? J has a last bottle around 7:30pm, sleeps through until 5:30am ish so one then, then 3 more throughout the day- roughly breakfast, lunch and tea times.

Time I don't think you should be concerned about the centile jumping. You can definitely get her weighed less often. I have had J weighed for months now.

Me624 · 31/07/2016 17:09

Rhu our schedule for ff is very roughly 5.30am, 8.45am, 12.30pm, 3.45pm, 6.45pm. All timings give or take half an hour either way. Sounds pretty similar to yours! DS has a 7oz bottle every time and usually finishes it but not always.

I guess once solids are well established the feeds will drop to 3 or maybe 4 a day?

Time DS is doing a bit of centile jumping at the moment too. He was born on the 50th, dropped to 25th which he tracked for ages, shot up to 75th and now is 50th again. For the first few months I had him weighed every 2 weeks but more recently I've just taken him roughly once a month or even a bit less than that I think. C looks gorgeous in your pics and not fat so I'm sure she's just catching up and finding her natural line.

I can see the tiny tip of a tooth poking through in DS's mouth! Which may explain the crankiness of earlier in the week. Weirdly though it's at the top not the bottom. Didn't someone else have the same, was it you maybe?

Maybebabybee · 31/07/2016 17:12

DS has teeth poking out all over the shop me. I can see his top two under the skin, one of his bottom side ones is properly poking out albeit not fully, and the bottom two are tiny white nubs.

DomesticAnarchist · 31/07/2016 17:47

Hello All!

We're back from our weekend away (Edinburgh is just amazing!) Grin

marmite, sorry to hear you were ill. Hope you're better now.

Huge hugs, Brew andChocolate for maybe. I like TheM's idea of hiring a uni student to do the sling dance!

Pixie - DS2 is 17 weeks and no period here. He's exclusively BF (and was pumping when I was at work) and with DS1 it only reappeared after 8 months when I had the coil fitted.

Rhu can I ask which mini-pill? They wouldn't give me a coil till 6 months, but I do not want to risk any more cute little babies! So they've given me the mini-pill too. I haven't started it yet though. I need to have a proper chat with DH. I know the statistics are in my favour, with ebf, but I won't be able to relax and enjoy anything if there's a risk!

Regarding naps - As someone up thread said we don't even attempt the cot for daytime naps. We're usually out or sitting on the sofa at home so it's in the sling or just on me!

Trinpy we have 12, 2/3, and 5/6 (and usually one about 45 mins after going to sleep, so about 9ish). Which is fine normally as he's ebf and in the Snuzpod, but in a travel cot this weekend I really felt it!

Time DS2 is 17 weeks and at last weigh in was 7.3kg (over a week ago) so around 75th centile. He was somewhere between 75th and 91st at birth, but then went down to about 50th so has caught up quickly in the last few weeks! He's also growing out of some 3-6 month clothes and some 6-9s are snug already! I'm sure your DD is just fine!
Ahh, she looks just lovely in the pic! I'm sure DS2's leg-rolls are bigger! (I love his chubby legs!)

Oh, forgot the most exciting news (spoiler: it's not that exciting) that my new sports bra was delivered while we were away. I splashed out on this one after reading a good review. It's got adjustable straps at the front which So I can feed in it and it should continue to fit when these norks settle down. I'm thinking of it as an investment!

RhubarbAndMustard · 31/07/2016 19:21

Dom it's Cerelle. I had a light period for first month but nothing since. No problems on it so far.

Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities. Glad you had a fab time.

QforCucumber · 31/07/2016 19:47

I've been given micronor as my mini pill, never been on it before and though ds is ebf because I'm not having periods I still find myself worrying and doing a hpt every 5 weeks or so haha.

Timetogrowup2016 · 31/07/2016 20:46

Dd went to bed at 7:30. Woke up screaming at 8 despite having the dummy in her mouth but wasn't hungry and won't go back to sleep!!!
Is just vigorously rubbing her eyes and whinging...
Given calpol...
She's normally a crap day time sleeper and I'm used to her practically screaming all day long but her night time sleep is pretty good.
Oh has bad stomach pains and is asleep already telling me how he doesn't know how his going to work tomorrow...

DomesticAnarchist · 31/07/2016 20:47

I've been given Feanolla, which is 75mcg desogesrel (progestogen). I think they're all pretty much the same?

I don't know if I want to take it. I had the copper coil before which was ideal - apart from the super-heavy periods. So I was thinking about mirena this time. But I'm suspicious of the hormones. I don't want to mess with my system unnecessarily - with that or the mini-pill.

But I really don't want any more babies!

Maybe I should just be celibate?

OP posts:
Trinpy · 31/07/2016 21:02

Ah OK I feel better now if other bf babies are feeding this often too. It must be normal Smile. I remember ds1 only waking twice a night from 6 weeks old but I think I must have just been lucky with him.

Dom I'm having the same dilemma with contraception - really not keen on putting all those hormones in my body but also can't be having another baby! Had a long chat with the gp at 6 week check and I'm still no clearer. We're just sticking with condoms for now until I decide what I want to do.

DomesticAnarchist · 31/07/2016 21:04

Yeah, I expect DH will get desperate enough to go back to condoms eventually!

OP posts:
Trinpy · 31/07/2016 22:20

Although so far I'm finding just having a very clingy baby around is an excellent contraceptive in itself Grin.

Me624 · 31/07/2016 22:36

I'm another just relying on condoms and part time celibacy at the moment. Didn't get on with cerelle this time round even though I was fine on it before getting pg, and not keen on the coil or implant with unpredictable side effects.
