Sorry, really couldn't think of something humorous!

Getting on fine with desogestrel here, just wanted something straightforward.

TriJo · 31/07/2016 23:17

Started Cerazette 2 weeks ago. No issues so far but not far in either.

Literally 3 days after right boob stopped hurting I appear to have another bloody clogged duct and it hurts like hell again. In the words of the immortal poet - fuck this.

DomesticAnarchist · 01/08/2016 08:06

Oh no Tri!
It just occurred to me - are you running again? Could your sports bra be squashing your boobs? (This was something I came across when researching sports bras last week)

Dom we're just doing condoms for now. When T turns one DH will get the snip. I'm 37 and never want to be pregnant again! Glad you liked Edinburgh. Been here 6 years and still love it.

Oh dear tri that is miserable. I read a thread some time back where a mum had one bad boob with recurrent mastitis, and she was able to continue nursing only on the good side for many months, letting the bad side dry up. Maybe phone up la leche or equivalent and have a chat about that possibility?

DomesticAnarchist · 01/08/2016 11:23

Yep, DH has plans to follow suit!

We swung through Dynamic Earth on the way home yesterday - it's possibly the most amazing place I've ever been! Shame we couldn't do it all 'properly'.

I think I could happily move to somewhere near Edinburgh. Though I might not survive the winters!

Yup, I've been back running since C was 5 weeks old. My size is difficult to find so all my sports bras are the wrong size - I wear a Shock Absorber Active Multisport in 34HH but I'm more of a true 32J or even 30JJ. It's uncomfortable to run with less support at this size.

TriJo · 01/08/2016 14:22

Mercifully this time C did a job on the clog at his 5:30am feed - shortly before he popped off I felt a bit of a release and instantly more comfortable. It's still a bit sore in general though.

Dottydoodoo · 01/08/2016 23:52

Well, for all our nap troubles last week DS had an hour and a half nap this morning, and then 2 and 3/4 hours this afternoon! I was wondering if he thought he had gone to bed! I nearly fell off my chair. It's lovely as he is so much happier when he has had decent naps, makes such a difference.

DS rolled from front to back this evening, he did it so quick I was scrabbling to get my phone to film him, but he wouldn't do it again!

We had a fun weekend, travelled about three hours away to go to a wedding. The wedding was lovely and was in a nice hotel. DS was really good, he was just generally grizzly on the day of the wedding but I think that was down to his teeth poor thing. He cried during the photographs but was quiet for the ceremony and cooed through the speeches. To end the day he did a huge explosive poo all over my pretty dress just before the evening reception so we gave that a miss and took it as a sign that enough was enough. It was a nice day though, even if I do now have to take my dress to be dry cleaned! The joy that these babies bring!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/08/2016 08:11

Hope te quiet thread means everyone had a good nightSmile
Also hope those of you with teething babies are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel...
Those of you who have experienced bad boobs etc, I've had a sore left nipple for a while now but was nothing visible to see so just put up with it. I fed DS this morning and it was agony as it was dark I couldn't look but I've since looked and I've got a white like spot on there this morning, I've googled it and it looks exactly like this picture below I have seen on Google (sorry if TMI) any idea what this is?

TriJo · 02/08/2016 08:29

Looks like a milk blister.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/08/2016 08:31

Thanks Trijo any ideas what j do to get rid of it??

FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/08/2016 08:31

Or to ease it at least?

TriJo · 02/08/2016 09:06

I generally just kept feeding through them, ibuprofen and heat helped too. They can be a sign of a blocked duct as well if you can feel any hard areas further back so just be a bit careful.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/08/2016 09:32

Ok thanks Trijo, wow it's painful I scared poor DS this morning my yelping! I will give that a go and hope it doesn't last long. I don't think I have any harder lumps etc but will keep an eye out. Has yours gone now?

magpiedreams · 02/08/2016 09:36

Yep first looks like a milk blister - I just fed as much as poss and it passed on a few days. Agony though. Regular paracetamol and ibuprofen if you can.
Happy International Breastfeeding week!

Me624 · 02/08/2016 12:21

Ouch first hope it clears up soon.

Feeling subdued today. The weather has turned miserable and yesterday I had to take DS to his first funeral Sad it was a close family friend, not unexpected as she had cancer but very sad. I find I am much more emotional since having DS. He was as good as gold which is one positive.

Is anyone else a bit bored, most of my baby classes don't run in the school holidays!

TheMshipIsBack · 02/08/2016 13:22

No time to be bored! It's August in Edinburgh and DH is either working or on call 24/7 all month (his work relates to the festivals). He's hoping to manage bedtime for DS, but other than that it's me vs the house and kids, with occasional subs from the grandparents. They've got DS this afternoon for some steam train thing, bless them. T is loving the puree. She's such a little bird with her mouth open at meals.

docmcstuffins1 · 02/08/2016 13:35

First mine didn't go with feeding so I popped it with a sterile needle (you kind of lift it rather than pierce it) and got almost instant relief. I had a blocked duct behind it and it completely cleared on the next feed.

Tri sorry you're having problems again, you must be really fed up now.

I feel like a zombie today. Ollie just would not settle after his 2 am feed this morning, he wasn't crying or upset, just wide awake. He wouldn't feed (I normally feed him to sleep at night) and even when I lay him in bed he was lifting both legs and banging them down and making himself laugh loud enough to keep me awake! I eventually got him back to sleep a 5am Confused I think I'm going to bite the bullet and move him into his own room tonight as I think we end up waking each other up. Have those of you whose babies have moved into their own rooms found it helped? Please say yes!

Timetogrowup2016 · 02/08/2016 14:14

Doc-
Yes I've found its helped massively.
She now wakes for the day anytime between 5-7am and we no longer require dummy runs in the night,
She's normally down at 7:30-8:30. Up at 1 and 4 for feeds

FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/08/2016 14:56

Oh really doc? That sounds worth doing if it gives instant relief, I'll keep feeding and see what happens if it doesn't happen sterile needle it is!!

Me624 · 02/08/2016 15:18

doc massive improvement in sleeping here when DS moved to his own room. He was waking 2-3 times a night for his dummy and would spend from about 4am asleep but leg slamming, groaning and thrashing around. In his own room he rarely wakes at all now, sometimes once. And if he's leg slamming, thrashing and groaning still then I don't know about it so I sleep!

docmcstuffins1 · 02/08/2016 19:00

Oh excellent, it's great to hear so success stories - here's hoping we have a good night. Fingers crossed!

docmcstuffins1 · 02/08/2016 19:04

First, this tells you how to do it:

FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/08/2016 19:19

Thanks Doc x

Maybebabybee · 02/08/2016 22:33

Hi all. Like doc I'm also hoping moving DS to his own room might give better sleep! He's still teething but not quite as horrendously - managed without any calpol or neurofen today for the first time in a week. Still takes a lot of patience and effort to get him to sleep but he's having longer naps at least.

BUT - and this is weird - the little bit of tooth he had poking out isn't there any more - it's like it's gone back in! It was 100% a tooth and not anything else. So so weird Confused

I brought him into bed with me last night after he woke for his midnight feed and I have to say I think he did sleep better and I felt more rested this morning. He also slept til 7.30 which I was Shock at as he's always up at 5.30 normally.
