Sorry, really couldn't think of something humorous!

I still haven't managed to get anything done. But did manage eat!

I've discovered the old Friends hug & roll technique (remember that?!) works to get him into bed without resuming the screaming immediately.

But so far only temporary. Currently trying to escape again.

At least the total travel time tomorrow should be less time than I've spent on this this evening!

Went to A&E with DS. He woke up at 8 and was absolutely hysterical. Cried so much he went blue, couldn't breathe and was shaking all over.

He was checked over and was fine. Apparently this sort of reaction to the vaccinations is not uncommon!

We only got back an hour ago so he was beyond exhausted. Sleeping now but fretfully - keeps crying in his sleep Sad

Me624 · 28/07/2016 03:56

Oh maybe that sounds awful - it must have been terrifying for you. Glad DS is ok and hope you manage to get a little bit of sleep tonight. These jabs are just horrible.

DS has woken up and decided it's time to coo in his cot for no apparent reason Hmm

RhubarbAndMustard · 28/07/2016 06:35

Maybe that must have been so scary. They really should warn us about reactions like that. I'd have been beside myself. Well done for staying calm and getting to A&E. Hope you and Dom managed to get some sleep last night. Dom good luck with your travels today.

Dotty we aren't bothering with a bumbo this time round. DS1 never really liked it and was in it for such a short time as his chubby legs wouldn't fit in.

More teething woes for us yesterday. 3 lots of bonjela and 2 calpols. Fresh air seems to help calm him though so we are off out again this afternoon to a local castle.

DomesticAnarchist · 28/07/2016 07:11

Oh, that sounds scary, maybe. Hope all is calmer now. FlowersBrew

Sounds terrifying maybe hope he's feeling better today and you got a little bit of sleep.

Dom good luck hope you manage to get away ok and haven't forgotten to pack too much stuff..

i have no idea what time R woke me crying and leg slamming in her crib but I just lifted her in to bed and thankfully she went fairly quickly back to sleep though for someone so small she does seem to take a lot of space... Hmm

Trinpy · 28/07/2016 08:10

Oh maybe that sounds awful. I'm glad everything is OK. The jabs seem to be much worse now - I don't remember any bad reactions when ds1 had his but Ds2 has really suffered with all 3 sets so far. Maybe ds1 was just lucky.

rhubarb we are in teething hell too. Hope it improves for you soon.

How's the packing going Dom?

Ds2 woke up in the night screaming, couldn't get him to calm down so gave calpol and he settled back in his own bed after about 10 mins then slept beautifully until morning! I'm always reluctant to give calpol straight away because teething lasts so long it feels like they're constantly having it.

Me624 · 28/07/2016 08:25

vroc I know exactly what you mean, DS is a very small person but somehow managed to shift around so that he's spread eagled across the middle of the bed and DH and I are perching on the edges desperately trying not to fall out!

Maybebabybee · 28/07/2016 09:54

Thanks all. He seems better today (ish) - he was very warm in the night and woke up to feed a lot so both of us are tired today! Just got him to go down for a nap but had to rock him in my arms first which is completely unheard of for him - usually he just wants to be put down!

DomesticAnarchist · 28/07/2016 11:23

Poor babies, Trin & maybe, and poor tired you too.

We got most bits packed last night and to bed about 1:30, then up at 6:30 to get the last bits sorted, boys up and house tidy. We managed it! And we got to the airport in time to use ALL the toys.

4 month jabs there this morning - poor little man was very upset afterwards, big tears rolling down his cheeks :( He's asleep now, Calpol on board, will see how today goes...

Boob is a lot better now thankfully - probably just a clogged duct but no less annoying and painful while it lasts.

Maybebabybee · 28/07/2016 12:23

Those of you with more than one DC, when your little ones were teething, after you noticed the white cap of the tooth poking through the gum, how long was it before the sodding thing came through properly?

DS has had his poking out for three weeks and they're just not coming through!

Every nap time is a battle now because he is clearly uncomfortable when I put him down. I have tried EVERYTHING. No matter how cheerful he is awake or how much calpol, neurofen or sodding bonjela I give him, every time he goes down for a nap he starts biting his hands like a loon, crying and pulling on his ears.

TheMshipIsBack · 28/07/2016 13:31

maybe um about a month for the first one. The rest I think came faster but maybe I didn't notice them as early? Sorry, I know that's not much use. T's at the same stage right now, with one tiny white point through and a few others visible under the gums but no progress since we first noticed. My sympathy, teething is really hard for some babies.

TheMshipIsBack · 28/07/2016 13:34

Ps ear pulling is sometimes an over tired thing rather than teeth ime... If he sleeps in the car or pram I'd be doing whatever works for a few days, make no other plans, then try to reintroduce cot naps once he's better rested. It sucks. DS was chronically overtired till he was crawling.

Maybebabybee · 28/07/2016 14:58

Mship yeah I thought about the link between overtiredness and ear pulling but I'm pretty sure it's teeth as its more of a punching the side of his face type thing and accompanied by little squeals of pain Sad. That and if he gets overtired he just tends to scream.

I've been putting him in the buggy for naps as that does work - you're totally right, in the short term it's just more important that he sleeps.

Trinpy · 28/07/2016 21:53

Maybe I think it only took about 2 weeks for the front teeth to come in but about a month (maybe 2?) for the back ones. How long has it been so far for you?

Ds2 went down at 7.30 and has woken up every 10 mins since then. Have given calpol, just hoping he sleeps now!

Maybebabybee · 28/07/2016 22:44

Been about 3 weeks since I spotted one of the side ones, and now I can just see the buds of the front two under the surface. Sigh.

trin oh no your poor DS! DS has had calpol and/or neurofen every day for a week now :(

QforCucumber · 29/07/2016 06:33

Definite sleep regression territory here :-( the last 2 nights he's been awake every 2 hours. Only feeding will get him back to sleep too. Feel like we have a newborn again.
Oh maybe the poor thing, and poor you!
Brew large and strong for all of those with bad sleepers!!

Me624 · 29/07/2016 07:14

Morning all. Sympathies Q and Trin. I had a shit night too though down to DH rather than DS! He went out for "a few drinks" at 6 last night and said he wouldn't be back late ... rolled in at 2.15am absolutely steaming drunk. I'm fuming with him - I don't resent him having a night out (I'm having one next weekend with my NCT group!) but he's always just so inconsiderate when he comes back in, plus makes me worry by telling me he won't be late and not a text or anything to say actually plans have changed. Grrr.

Maybebabybee · 29/07/2016 07:30

Q if that's sleep regression we've been in that since DS was 9 weeks old!! Sympathies to you and trin for the bad night. trin that's really inconsiderate of your H!!!

Bad night here too. Initial 3.5 hour stretch which is very good for him, then 2 hours, but when he woke at 3 I couldn't settle him as his teeth were hurting, took me an hour to get him back down and then he was up again in an hour. He's napping now. Have given him neurofen.

In sleep deprived haze. I'm used to him waking up lots at night but only to feed for 5 minutes and go straight back to sleep so I never feel like I've slept that badly. Today I do!

Swearwolf · 29/07/2016 07:54

Ouch, sympathies for you all Q, trinpy and maybe. We haven't hit that sleep regression yet but I remember it well from ds. Those of you with no older kids, don't get out of bed! Lots of coffee and biscuits and feeling sorry for yourself in your jammies.

1frenchfoodie · 29/07/2016 08:59

I am looking fondly back on the days of nappy changing pre rolling - E liks nothing more than flipping back to front umpteen times during a change. She has 2 front teeth now too - they grow up so quickly! She is grousing and needing dentinox but we only had one really bad day. Sympathy to those having a harder time, we know the next ones may be trickier.

Maybe that sounds awful, I definately didn't get any warnings about such a reaction though only the first set put E out of sorts.

Me that is so annoying, I've no prob with plans changing and DH rolling in late but the lack of text would drive me crazy.

Me624 · 29/07/2016 09:59

french DS thinks it's hilarious to roll off his changing mat too during nappy changes! It's a little bit annoying! I've also had to start rocking him to sleep for naps and then putting him down (which luckily doesn't take long) because if I just put him in the cot, which I always used to be able to do, he now thinks it's just fun to roll all over it rather than sleeping. Hope it's just a phase and the novelty will wear off in a few more weeks.

DH has been suitably contrite this morning so he is forgiven.

Maybebabybee · 29/07/2016 10:10

DS is nowhere near rolling yet. He's nearly 20 weeks - everyone else's little one seems to be rolling no?

He flipped once from front to back but that was a few days ago and he's not done it since.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 29/07/2016 10:19

Maybe - my DS is 5 months next Wednesday and he hasn't even rolled once yet he gets a momentum going and maybe gets to his side but that's as far as it goes bless him
