Hi all!

Well the DTs will be 3 on the 11th February. When did that happen??????????

I've decided to do a fancy dress party at home for them. It will go like this.......

I will cook some chicken nuggets and chips (homemade people... don't you worry lol) and the birthday cakes ... that's right CAKES ... will of course be lemon drizzle!

The wee beasts will arrive. Half will cry and moan, the rest will trash my house, kill the plants in the garden and annoy the neighbours. I'm trying to decide whether or not to have a bouncy castle as that annoys him too!

The mums will say how brave I am to have a party at home and do their best not to eat all of their wee ones' food (which obviously the wee beasts won't eat cos they don't do they? Sigh..............) The mums will have some "well... only a little bit then" cake. I'll offer some sparkly wine, which they won't drink as they will all be driving Tarquin and Jocasta the 200m home.

They will leave. I'll put in an emergency call to my cleaner. I will sink a bottle of wine and realise I've forgotten to pick up DD2 from school.

I will vow to use the soft play centre next year and come on here and post about how awful everyone's children are... including my wee beasts!

My babies are about to be 3! Time flies.

email me on lovelymarslady at aol dot com so that I remember as I have to go out now.

I'll give you the benefit of my wisdom.

And just cos you've had good births doesn't mean that you could cope/help with other people. It's all about empowering mothers!

will do - dh will get all nervous - is convinced that my interest is a sly way to convince him to have another one (tis mabe partly true...)

MarsLady · 21/01/2007 20:15

It may cure you! lol!

sorry ladies - had to break for dinner.

FP - DS is fine - today he has an upset tum but this started several weeks ago. There is no reason I can see for the behaviour other than he has turned into a little monster recently on all fronts, pushing boundaries as far as he can go and driving us all demented. So it might just be attention seeking behaviour. Will attempt to ignore while inwardly wanting to throttle him

JoshandJamie · 21/01/2007 20:37

And I just want to take my hat off to anyone who can doula or be remotely nice to people in labour. I think I would either run for the hills or tell them to pull themselves together - probably not a great career for me then!

hi everyone! wow marslady, my dd and your twins share the same birthday!!

i never normally have the party on her birthday, because her cousin's birthday is in august (they were both born in 2004) and what me and my sis do is that we throw a huge party somewhere in between (last year it was April or may i think). i know it sounds mad but it works well cos we invite all the relatives and ALL our friends so it's a huge bash with lots of food and drink and it's more cost-effective for me and sis, as we only hire one clown for games and balloon-making and we split the food. but we had two cakes for the two kids. last year we had a pool party and there was also a indoor playgd by the pool so that was nice, even if the kids were running around screeching...

this year, am not sure yet what we're doing, but possibly a do at gymboree?

also, since dd just joined nursery, she'll do a small party at nursery with a barney cake i think (altho she's quite into Disney Princess at the mo, tho I'm not sure why, I'm not into it, and I've never taught her about them!! Must be bloody tv! sigh)

so altogether two parties. i must be mad.

but the pizzas party does sound interesting !!!

anyway, poor dd is down with an ear infection and she's being very naughty and refuses her antibiotics, so am quite worried that the infection won't clear up.

J&J, dd also regressed recently after having been potty trained for ages. think it started during her first days at nursery..perhaps something to do with stress? and now she's sick (must be some epidemic, half the nursery is down with something!!) so i think she's not very keen to use the potty....

sigh...

Hi..I promise to stop lurking

Major problem on the cake front...We are having a Thomas cake made by someone at work and tonight I asked DS1 what cake he wanted and he said BOB!!! I said dont you want Thomas and he said no - Thomas YUK!!! Hope he changes his mind by his party.

hazlinh · 03/02/2007 16:29

thanks fp..
i nearly thought i'd killed the thread for a minute there...
toytownmum, it is so nervewracking trying to choose the right cake..they just can't seem to make up their minds...they ARe only 3...i mean, dh still can't make up his mind and he's 10 times older...sigh..

toytownmum · 05/02/2007 10:22

survived the party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DS1 is 3 today

funnypeculiar · 05/02/2007 11:09

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE TOYTOWN!!!

How was the party??

toytownmum · 05/02/2007 22:29

Party was a success!!!!

Cake was also a great success, although it was actually a Pat cake..... I gave the person making it two choices (Pat or Thomas) and at the last moment she chose Pat, which was a good decision on her behalf as it went down very well with DS1.

I cant believe my little boy is now 3.

Been a very hectic 2 days so now off to bed.

Night TTM x
