ffaux hope the medication starts working and things start to look up a bit.

Sympathies for all of those with older DC being a pain, hope you have all had a better evening his evening!

magpie hope the ship has gone ok!

Can I ask for some bra recommendations? I'm using H and m nursing bras but they've stretched loads so aren't really offering any support, they were cheap when I was still pregnant to use until I knew what size i needed and as they were the right size I never thought to get anymore but I want something that holds everything a bit better?

magpiedreams · 13/05/2016 21:06

purple I managed a hairdresser appointment with baby in the pram, the hairdresser just gave him a little push around the salon when he started to wake up!

So...the consultant we saw felt his tongue tie wouldn't definitely benefit from snipping so we came away without it being done, with a plan to see him again in 2 weeks if I have worsening pain or his growth falters...the saga continues!

FirstTimeMummy25 · 13/05/2016 22:21

Vroc - I have M&S nursing bras they are fairly good, also have one from morhercare which gives better shape x

TriJo · 13/05/2016 23:39

vroc Hotmilk are great! I have massive norks though. Try Amazon and you should be able to get them for around 20-25 quid.

ffauxlivia · 14/05/2016 01:23

Thanks all, we're getting lots of smiles in between the screaming feeds so at least she is fairly content otherwise. Good to hear you've heard positive stories about the meds magpie

And magpie sorry about the ongoing saga, it's difficult isn't it? I was told my lactation that DD had a posterior tongue tie but the pediatrician said she didn't see enough there to snip. Feeding is a lot better now but I feel it might have contributed to me not building enough of a supply for her initially, as she didn't transfer enough milk when my supply was building, and now it's too late :(

Q oh no, sympathies! I am supposed to be having all 4 wisdom teeth out this week but I keep putting it off, I would rather give birth again tbh

vroc I've tried so many bras and the only ones that have been vaguely flattering and lift/separate my boobs are underwired with a fairly stiff cup. The brand I have is Soma but not sure if they are in the UK. They have made a world of difference to making me feel better about my figure

purple I took DD to the hairdressers and she slept right through it, think it was all the white noise from the hairdryers etc

maybe yep she can be quite gassy! I try bicycle legs and massage but it's hard when I'm not meant to put her on her back after feeding. Gripe water has helped sometimes, or lying her on her tummy draped over my lap and rubbing her back

vroc81 · 14/05/2016 03:03

Ha just reread my post magpie snip not ship! Sorry it wasn't sorted, hopefully it'll definitely go one way or the other in two weeks to help make the decision.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/05/2016 08:03

Morning all, pretty good night here, DD2 slept 8.30-.1.30, fed , then slept till 5.30 when DD1 woke up. DH got up with DD1 and left me to lie in till I just woke up at 7.45. Feel pretty great, amazing what just one less night feed will do.

magpie shame it wasn't sorted - if you're still in pain feeding in a couple of weeks I'd definitely say get it snipped. Everything I've read about it suggests its really very minor in terms of getting it done.

vroc I've been wearing bravissimo bras, the panache Sophie ones and am finding them very comfortable, with a fair amount of support. I have heard good things about the hot milk ones that trijo suggested and once I'm sure my supply has settled I'm going to try to get a flexi underwired one for better support.

Weigh in day was yesterday and I've lost another 1-2 pounds (difficult to tell with my non digital scales and terrible eyesight), pretty happy about that. I still need to lose 8/9 pounds but happy to lose it slowly and steadily, just glad that am finally shifting some of my excess weight Smile

I also desperately need a haircut, but not sure I'd have the confidence to take DD2 with me. Also trying to decide whether to just have a restyle with same length hair (just below shoulders) or go for a dramatic change - have been looking at asymmetric pixie cuts and would love the freedom of not having to spend ages drying my hair. Plus all I do with my hair at the moment is whack it up in a ponytail/bun as DD2 would just be sick on it otherwise! Not sure whether to go to the doctors about her vomitting... she's doesn't seem distressed by it at all and is putting on weight, just seems sicky.

1frenchfoodie · 14/05/2016 08:28

Feeds at 12, 3 and 6 here, would love her to drop one but she seems set in her ways. Plus she sicks up so much less of her night feeds they are probably a big factor in weight gwin. Sadly I cannot shake my early morning habit so I am wide awake by final feed. At least we can get up and leave DH (a night owl) to sleep.

Had physio revisit for separated stomach muscles (gaps of 1.5, 3 and 2.5 cm as measured top to bottom) and simple exercises she gave have worked. Now 1,2 and 1 cm and have new exercises but no need to go back. Can go back to normal exercise just need to avoid full situps but have managed that for many years so should be fine.

magpie shame to to have an immediate fix but at least next appointment is soon and there will be a proper look at the impact of the tongue tie. A friend's baby has one and feeding seems so long and painful, Hope you are okay.

marmite pixie cut fan here, my hair is 5cm at its longest and suits my lazy nature. No hairdrier or even brushes needed just some wax if I am feeling like making an effort. Somethink like this though my face is not on a par...

I love your hair french!!

Feeling down about my weight. Still 2 stone to go before I'm at my pre pregnancy weight. Feel like a monster!!

We're down to only one night feed here - DS goes down for the night at about 9.30, sleeps for five hours or so, feeds, and then goes back down until 6 ish. I count that as pretty good!!

maybebabybee · 14/05/2016 08:43

Oh sorry, I thought that was you Blush

Paperblank · 14/05/2016 08:52

Morning! I wish this blinking weather would make up it's mind! One minute it's red hot, the next it's back to winter jumpers!

Missi Zach looks beautiful x

Maybe I have all but given up winding Martha. she's never been great at burping but she is moving about more so that naturally moves the wind about - it usually results in a fart rather than a burp though. Dsis rarely burped her Ds...her DD was a nightmare so she didn't get much opportunity to burp him.

I need to do my hair I've got so much grey coming through I just need to find the time to do it!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/05/2016 09:02

French I also struggle to get back to sleep (and am incapable of sleeping past 8, it seems), but I found that wearing a sleep mask really helps, plus simple mind exercises to help me go back to sleep. Doesn't tend to work post 6am though so was lucky this morning DD2 finished before then so I could go back to sleep.

Great news on your stomach muscle seperation shrinkage! I've been meaning to say thanks for sharing your suggested exercises last time as I've been doing pelvic tilts/bridges alongside my other core exercises and my gap is getting better, not sure if it would have any way but every little helps.

DH makes a major sad face when I mention cutting my hair haha, I never stay the same with my hair, chop it all off then get bored, grow it out, get bored chop it off its an endless cycle every couple of years! Last time I had it drastically cut I just went for a short bob and haven't had a pixie cut in aaages (maybe 2010ish?), told myself I wouldn't have one again as they are such a pain to grow out but have found myself scouring pinterest for short hair styles over the past couple of weeks and remembering how much I love the look/ease of short hair...

DomesticAnarchist · 14/05/2016 10:36

Another pixie cut fan. Mine's so grown out at the moment it looks awful, but getting it cut this afternoon!

Still need to decide how short to go. (I like 1french's pics there!)

I haven't weighed myself still, but I did try getting into my work trousers last night. I'm at least a whole size bigger than I was. I need to do something about it - but I refuse to control what I eat (although I should really cut back on the junk!). I need to get DS2 napping in the evenings so I can get exercising.

Evenings are getting better since I started making the effort to do a bedtime routine. Last night he did 9:30-4am! (He briefly woke at about 1:30 I think, but the dummy trick worked!). If I can get him asleep before 9pm tonight I'll run or something. Grin (now I've said that he'll have one of those 3-hourly wake nights!)

QforCucumber · 14/05/2016 15:28

Interesting aftermoon - went for lunch with friends and children, Rory needed feeding so popped him on the boob. Friends 8 year old ds and 5 year old dd from then on were saying things like 'that's gross' 'ewwww' 'mam why has Q got her boobs out?' and 'how minging is that i wouldn't dare!!'

The difference between these 2 and my 9 year old nephew who actually knows about bf and will happily say, 'when it's time to feed R would you like me to get you a drink?' Is astounding!!

maybebabybee · 14/05/2016 18:27

Wow Q I hope your friend told them off!!!!

magpiedreams · 14/05/2016 20:12

Wow Q I'm stunned! Did your friend say anything?! I've only had the opposite - friends kids wanting to get up close and have a good look and friends telling them not to - I always say it's fine, let them see!

So...anyone fancy joining me on the 'Couch to 5k' programme??? dom, you mentioned getting moving? I downloaded the app and did day 1 tonight, it was very easy but I figure start slow and build it up and don't get put off. I feel good for it now, and it also meant I had a good reason to leave Screamy McScreamerson with DH for an hour while I did it then showered then was ready to feed him again. All good!

magpiedreams · 14/05/2016 20:13

PS Thanks for all the good wishes and encouragement re the tongue tie. It's all fine, I'm not too worried either way and just glad we have had a specialist opinion and are not jumping the gun with a (albeit minimal risk) intervention that we might avoid.

Purpleprickles · 14/05/2016 20:15

Thanks for the positive hairdresser with baby stories Smile I've never had hair shorter than my shoulders, I'd love to try a short cut but think my face is too big Grin

Q I hope your friend spoke to their children too. Both those ages are too old to be making insulting comments without being told off!

Magpie sorry to hear you didn't get the tongue tie sorted, it must be frustrating.

Dom I'm not weighing myself either. I'm just eating the world around me and walking lots hoping they cancel each other out...which u doubt they will.

Purpleprickles · 14/05/2016 20:17

Magpie cross post, glad you aren't unhappy about the tongue tie decisions so far. I've tried couch to 5k before and didn't quite finish. I was thinking about trying again but dh is working so late at the moment I'm not sure when I'd do it. Give me a couple of weeks and I could be more able to do it too. I'll be trying to catch you up but then!

DomesticAnarchist · 14/05/2016 20:43

Wow, Q, I'm amazed your friend just let them carry on like that. (Sometimes other people, and their kids, amaze me!)

magpie, I fully intend to when I can get DS2 to sleep at a reasonable time in the evening. I've downloaded the app already (and Strava!).

However he did sleep through my haircut today! I feel a bit more like me again! Got something like the pic attached.

Glad it's not just me, Purple!

Anyone watching Eurovision? Bulgarian woman's 'look' is something, isn't it?!

QforCucumber · 14/05/2016 20:55

She didn't tell them off as such - neither of them actually knew anything about bf and that it was even done so she explained what I was doing and why she hadn't bf them, I was dead impressed with how she dealt with it but I honestly think they should have been aware before then.

I keep thinking of wanting to start c25k again magpie but instead have just today started the 30 day shred to see how my fitness goes haha.

Paperblank · 14/05/2016 21:39

I might have to have my hair chopped off. I'm pulling out handfuls everyday 😢 I used to have long thick wavy hair, but it's getting so thin.

My nails are also shocking - they are splitting and peeling. I'm a bloody state!

Oh and to top it off the big black hair that sprouts out of my chin has come back😡

dobbythedoggy · 14/05/2016 23:23

Is everyone enjoying the nice weather? If you've got it that is. It's been mostly lovely sunshine here today and I've managed to spend most of the day out and about; more like my pre pregnancy sickness self.

Booked myself and dd (and possibly eddy too) in for a hair cut next week. No idea what I'm going to get done but my hair is in desperate need of cutting after two and a half years since I last chose to make time to get it done. Loving the pixie cuts but my hair is hard work if I take too much length out of it will have to have a look for some ideas. It will be dd's first cut, she's got waist length hair at the moment which she loves so think it will be a trim for her. Eddy may well need a trim at the front too, his got so much hair it almost starting to get in his eyes from the sides. Not sure he'd suit the top knot and hair bands dd used to have.

Me and Eddy have just got to grips with feeding in the ring sling which feels stupidly liberating. Nice to feed hands free and it feels like I've regained a couple of hours in the day by having the opption to not have to sit down and feed. Although feel sad as I'm pretty sure my caboo has had it's last outting with us.

Sympathy paper. I'll join you with the big black sprouting hair. My toe nails keep peeling but strangely not my finger nails. Also have delightfully dry red spotty skin across my nose and cheeks since eddy wae born, it was peeling horribly but has settled down now I've stopped attempting to use anything on it. Have just ordered some soap nuts as my skin in general has become very senisitive and even our normal washing powders or liquids are making me mildly itchy.

docmcstuffins1 · 15/05/2016 06:55

Marmite I've just finished week 2 of C25k, feeling better for being active again but shocked how much fitness I've lost (I was running marathons before bfp but had to stop running early after getting cramps and spotting after running)

Q I'd like to think I'd have told friends kids to eff off, but realistically would have gone red and stared at my feet!

Been pretty much awake since 4:30 here, with a restless, snorty, windy farty baby. Going to need a nanna nap later I think!

1frenchfoodie · 15/05/2016 07:01

dom nice haircut. I toy with leaving longer like that at the top but am hopeless with styling hence the shorter pixie.

magpie I used something similar to couch to 5k with initial training for a half marathon a few years ago and it was a useful. I did find it a bit boring at first but it was a great way to get fitness up in an injury free way rather than my usual steaming in.I did the 1/2 marathon in 2h2m after months of running 5x a week and then esentially stopped running altogether but must admit it is the best option to get fit again as DH works erratic shifts so classes are tricky and we have 0 floor space for exercise DVDs.

Sympathy for those with splitting nails and thinning hair. My main bugbear is very dry hands, mainly nappy change and puppy wrangling induced. Really doesn't help to see next to DDs perfect new skin.
