Re where to DTD - we're set up at the moment with me and C in one room and DH in the other. I tend to put C down in his cot then go to DH's room.

RhubarbAndMustard · 07/05/2016 14:31

I think our secret is that J is in 3-6 month clothes already. He's got enough chubba on him to keep him going through the night!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 07/05/2016 18:42

I've been too nervous to DTD as after DD1 it was horrendous for a few months - no amount of lube or foreplay helped! However going to give it a go tonight... Planning to have a GnT or two beforehand to relax myself, just hope the alcohol doesnt send me to sleep! Re where to DTD- With DD1 we just did it when she was sleeping in same room, as she got older it has to be with lights off though to not disturb her. I couldn't wait to put her in her own room Grin

It's been lovely weather here, spent the morning in town picking up shoes and a cardigan to go with my wedding dress, bit last minute as we're getting married on Monday! DPs parents are taking us out for lunch after the wedding. We're not that fussed about celebrating but also accepted our parents will want to do something. Plus free meal, so I can't complain. My mum sent a congrats card which arrived today and she's written a lovely message in it about love, companionship etc then slightly ruined it by writing ,'PS we'll celebrate when you're next in Bristol' - even though I've told her we don't want a party Hmm

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

QforCucumber · 07/05/2016 18:55

Ref dtd -dp and I did it for the 1st time in months this week, was all goooooood however got carried away - forgot needed contraception so I ended up going to the chemist for the map on Thursday haha oops. Ds is 7 weeks today - we have our '6 week check' this week. Am I supposed to have booked him in for his jabs already? In a bit oblivious.

Dp is a happy drunken idiot - boro got promoted in the football so big big news for us really, town was in need of something good.

Ds is almost out of his 0-3 from m&s and next but his asda and sainsburys stuff is still huge - apparently vanity sizing starts young.

Me624 · 07/05/2016 20:29

marmite how exciting! I hope you have a lovely day on Monday. And good luck for tonight ... I do feel ready to give dtd a go now, if it weren't for this annoying bleeding from the mini pill - honestly it's heavier than any natural period I've ever had, I had to go and buy night time sanitary towels today (also too scared to attempt tampons yet!)

Q that's so funny as I've found M&S stuff swamps DS but the Asda stuff fits perfectly! And don't get me started on John Lewis ... their baby grows fit DS well, their t-shirts and vests are tiny and their trousers are absolutely enormous!

DomesticAnarchist · 07/05/2016 21:49

[Indom here, been thinking about a post-natal name-change for a while & Suz reminded me]

Exciting about Monday marmite! I'll be thinking of you, hope it goes as you want it to!

I didn't get any more sleep but did have a very restful day while DH & DS1 pottered around outside. Me and DS2 lounged around feeding and he napped. It was bliss!

Swearwolf · 07/05/2016 22:01

High five for name changes Dom!

Congratulations for Monday marmite, I hope it goes exactly how you want it to. How exciting!

Paperblank · 07/05/2016 23:11

Ponders a name change...

Hmmm....

I am quite taken with knackeredandpastit, or FiveBellies after my Martha Moo who has fed every 2 hours today. At one point she had 9 ounces in an hour!! Bearing in mind she's a 4oz girl normally, I just cannot fill her up today.

I suspect were gearing up for a growth spurt.

Crispylicious · 07/05/2016 23:47

Hello new Fred! I'll be a name changing too, seeing that crisps are no longer my diet staple.

DS just had an awful screaming fit. We couldn't stop him crying. I think it was to do with being overtired, but he was literally hysterical. Maybe the heat's not helping either. I stripped us both down for some skin to skin, which combined with some rocking has got him off for the moment. He's now naked and on me not in his cot, argh! Poor little mite. I hate seeing him so upset. And it looks like a night of bugger all sleep for us :(

Anyway pity party over... Good luck marmite for Monday. Enjoy your day!

FirstTimeMummy25 · 08/05/2016 02:05

Our DS has had some random crying fits tonight I think he might be too hot! What are you guys dressing your little ones in for Bed tonight I'm wondering if a sleep suit is too much?

MrsElls · 08/05/2016 04:39

Shh we are on our first feed of the night at 4.15 Smile

Purpleprickles · 08/05/2016 05:26

Whoop whoop MrsE we just did ours at 5 Smile Though dh did stay up and feed her at midnight so it isn't that she slept the whole night.

Marmite have a wonderful day on Monday Flowers

E is in a light bodysuit and babygro for bed. Our room is quite cool and she has slept fine and wasn't at all hot when I fed her. She also screamed a lot last night but that is par for the course with her in the evening Hmm

I've just discovered the angry bird emoticonAngry BirdGrin

DomesticAnarchist · 08/05/2016 05:27

I've had sleep!! I think I've just had about 4 hours in a row - thank you sleep gods!

Lol, Paper - I was avoiding literal descriptive names, otherwise it'd be something about my enormous arse or something!

DS2 fed like it was going out of fashion yesterday too (about 16 feeds, I think?) - I was both cautiously hopeful he was preparing for a long sleep and also that he was preparing to continue that theme all night!

Oh no Crispy. We have overtired screeching most days. It's daft isn't it?

FTM DS2 has been in a short best + a lovely pair of green velour trousers with a lovely wide & soft waistband, and his swaddle pod. Our bedroom is about 23C I think (new build toastyness).

No burps this morning. Ah well, we can't have it all...

Me624 · 08/05/2016 05:58

Our bedroom is 23 according to the monitor and DS is in a short sleeved vest and his sleeping bag. His chest and back are still pretty warm. It is very humid here in the south east.

Swearwolf · 08/05/2016 06:03

Oh my, S just slept from 10-5.30! Just done the first feed of the night! I've woken up damp and smelling like a yogurt.

It's not that hot here, we had a crazy thunderstorm last night and it was quite cool after that, so S is just in her usual vest and sleepsuit.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 08/05/2016 06:16

Oh wow well done all sounds like you've had better sleep tonight your babies must of heard your preyers last night lol... Don't Think my DS did lol bless him... He's fed like an animal eyes are stinging ... Never mind he must be having or getting the ready for a growth spurt!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 08/05/2016 08:58

Congrats to those who got longer stretches of sleep! We had a pretty standard night here last night - feeds at 11.45, 2.30 and 5. I'm pretty used to the regular wakes now and she goes down after eating so I'm not finding it too bad. Wouldnt mind her dropping one of the middle of the night feeds though! I'm not going to complain too much though as around this age DD1s sleep got a lot worse (awake 5-7 times a night) so 3 wakes is fine by me!

Very warm here last night even in my draughty old house so E was in a short sleeved vest and 1 tog sleeping bag.

Managed to successfully DTD last night! A little uncomfortable but not too painful which was a marked improvement from after DD1. Can only assume I was stitched up too tight after DD1 and that the midwife did a better job this time! Or could just be the difference between having had am episiotomy (DD1) and a natural tear (DD2). Either way I'm not complaining!

It's lovely and sunny here so we're off to the in-laws later as they have a nice big garden so DD1 can run around.

Decided to get a fitness tracker to monitor my activity and try to lose weight. The one I want is quite pricey and can't really justify it so DP is going to get it for me for my birthday and give it to me three months early Smile I'm still feeling crap about my fat belly and stomach muscle gap but going to try to be a bit more proactive so I can lose the ~1 stone excess weight I'm carrying around.

1frenchfoodie · 08/05/2016 09:13

marmite, we had a very similar 3 feed night as E is habing a growth spurt. Pre baby I thought that would render me hollow eyed and snappy but it has become an easyish routine, helped by ger going back down easily. Congrats on DTD, I found it a relief to know all was still working. Good luck for your wedding on Monday. I got my shoes the afternoon before my wedding, good to know others are not all organised months ahead.

Finally captured smile on camera!

Swearwolf · 08/05/2016 09:17

I'm feeling similar marmite, this weight isn't dropping off by itself so it's time to get proactive. I think for me it shouldn't take a lot, I just need to stop the massive overeating while feeding. We're going away with a big group of friends this week, so I doubt I'll be able to get away with eating half a packet of biscuits in one sitting and we might be out and about a bit more, hopefully this will kick start some better habits.

Timetogrowup2016 · 08/05/2016 09:51

Pretty good night last night for us. C went down at 10 and woke at 2:30!,5:00,7:00.
C slept in her cot for half the night and swing chair for half ( at least she was on her back for some of it)
This smile made all the hard bits worth it this morning though.
We have learnt that Calais can sleep in the car seat without being swaddled. If she's lied down or in the bouncy she just keeps looking around and moving her arms and legs and just doesn't know how to sleep unless swaddled.
We also think she has cows milk intolerance.
She has a rock hard belly
Terrible wind
Endless screaming some days
A blocked nose since a month old
Trouble sleeping
Off to the doctors tomorrow. Because it's heart breaking to watch her like this and we've tried everything other than colief

I was thinking if she can sleep like this un swaddled maybe a sleepy head would be a good investment one day?

March 2016 Babies Thread #11 - We've got smiley babies, screaming babies and farty babies!
FirstTimeMummy25 · 08/05/2016 10:19

Timetogrowup - we brought a sleepy head in DS 1st week as he hated having so much room around him, I know it seems steep £100 but trust me worth every penny!! I will definitely get the next size up when he out grows it and if he still doesn't like being in his next to me without it!

QforCucumber · 08/05/2016 10:21

Oh time she's adorable. R seems huge in comparison and he's 7 weeks haha.
The cows milk allergy might be something, hopefully the gp can prescribe an alternative milk and you'll see a difference - fingers crossed for you.
R slept 3 hrs, then 2, 2 and 2. Feel shattered today though as his 3 hours began at 8pm and I didn't take advantage and join him in sleeping.

Weight wise I'm 10st 1lb, was 10st exact when I got bfp but wanted to be 9st 7lb so that's my target again now. I did the muscle separation check thing and mine are just under 1 finger width but can still definitely feel the separation.

Yay french that's a fantastic smile too!

Been freezing here all weekend Sad usual sleepsuit and vest for R, he also has a funny blanket pouch thing which goes around the mattress of the moses basket and he just slots in the top - comes up to just above his stomach now.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 08/05/2016 17:38

1cm (or less) is great q! For most women there will be a little bit of seperation always, but anything more than 2cm/2.5cm is an issue, I think.

Its been so hot here in the SE today that E has just been in her nappy all day after overheating in a short vest! Have had a bit of a lazy day at the in laws. I'm hoping its cooler tomorrow as my wedding dress is quite heavy and I've got a petticoat as its a 50s style swing dress (mainly as I can have bf access in it!). I got a bit stressed today as all the family (both sides) are making a fuss about it even though we said no guests, no celebrations etc. Tbh I'll be happy when it's over! Sounds unromantic but me and DP really just want to sign a piece of paper and be married, with minimal fuss... I say that but then I did buy a new dress for it, but none of my clothes fit my weird post preg body so wanted an excuse to feel pretty

Glad C had a better night time Grin hope the doctors appt helps.

QforCucumber · 08/05/2016 19:49

So furious I want to cry. Where do people get off telling a ftm that she's not satisfying her baby by breastfeeding him, that bottle fed babies are happier than bf ones, that he wouldnt cry if he was ff, that I should be giving him a bottle of water between feeds and that him feeding 2 hourly and crying isn't right. This is what I heard today from mil and my sil's mum too. I'd never tell someone these things - things are hard enough as It is. So glad dp, his brother and sil all stood up for me as I was too gobsmacked to speak!
