Thanks Q for the link and thanks for the Angel care recommendations guys I'll have a look although she does love floating around the bath and kicking off the edge so maybe we'll just stop worrying and let her carry on.

Marmite good luck today hope you have a lovely day!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 09/05/2016 07:28

Morning all, feeling pretty chipper today as E only had two wakes - 1.30 and 4.30. Then DP got up with DD1 and let me lie in until 7 when E wanted another feed.

Will try to post a pic of the dress later, me and DP are waiting till the last minute to get dressed in case E is sick on us! She's been so vommy recently, not sure if it's the best but yesterday was constant. Wedding is at 11 so leaving at 10... That's the aim anyway but obviously we'll be taking both DCs with us. I'm also feeling a bit better about the whole family issue today, was a bit peeved last night as DPs brother and SIL turned up at his parents this weekend and staying till today and I think were angling for an invite (his mum asked us if we were having any guests even though we said so many times we weren't) but luckily the room we've booked doesn't have space so they are just coming out for a meal with us and DPs parents afterwards. I felt a bit mean as theyve come a long way but we did say 'no guests' and none of my family are here. Amyway I was a bit annoyed last night and told DP I felt a little blindsided but having had my moan I feel fine today. Its our fault for not just getting married in secret but DP didn't want to do that as he said we shouldn't have to be secretive and people should just be able to deal with it... Apparently not! Am going to enjoy the day and look forward to finally being recognised as a family in the eyes of the state!

Sorry to hear about your bad night me - I have a friend who had trouble with her DS losing the dummy at night and waking, hope it was just a one off for you Brew

Haven't heard from beaut in a few days, hope she's ok.

DomesticAnarchist · 09/05/2016 07:51

Another one hoping all is ok with Beaut.

Hope you have a wonderful day, marmite! It's not about anyone but you & DP, forget the rest of them! It's a beautiful morning here, hope it's as lovely there. (And sounds like you might want to see the doc about reflux tomorrow!)

Another good sleep here! 11ish to 4ish and then back down till 6ish. Lush!

1frenchfoodie · 09/05/2016 07:55

Have a great day marmite, looking forward to dress pic.

me hope you get some good naps in, you must be exhausted.

Am I the only one bathing my little one in a gardening trug Blush? My sister gave me a baby bath but it big and clunky for now and she is better suported in a small trug. Bought for that purpose, not out of the shed!

QforCucumber · 09/05/2016 08:01

Haha 1french visions of you searching the shed for something bath like made me laugh.
Ds hated the baby bath so sil bought that support thing for us and he loves the big bath, I either use that or have a bath myself then lift him in with me for 10 mins.

marmite have a wonderful day, fingers crossed for cooperative children and weather Smile

Swearwolf · 09/05/2016 08:02

Have a lovely day marmite! Cover yourselves in muslins til you get there Smile

Sorry you had to deal with such idiots q, sounds like you're not going to let it get to you though.

We're going on holiday today! Nine adults, three preschoolers and a tiny, off to Devon for the week. Need to finish packing - all I've done so far is make piles, nothing is actually packed. I'd also put out lots of hot weather clothes and checked the forecast to find out its going to rain most of the week, oops.

Purpleprickles · 09/05/2016 08:09

Marmite have a wonderful day! Looking forward to a dress pic.

Dom hurray for good sleep! Long may it continue.

Not a bad night here but it was so hot feeding E just felt sticky and uncomfortable. Not much of the usual snuggling.

French we bathed E in the washing up bowl for the first few weeks. Like you the bath seemed too big and cold. We now have this www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Ergonomic-Bath-Support/265758,default,pd.html&loadMoreCurrentStatus=1&returnCgid=bathing_bath&returnSrule=null&start=20&returnScrollPos=774 which she enjoys laying in or sometimes I hold her in with ds and she floats happily next to him.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 09/05/2016 08:28

Great minds think alike French! with DD1 we bathed her in a trug once she outgrew the little bath but was too small for the big bath. Will be doing the same with E this time.

Thanks for all the lovely well wishes for today. Currently sat with E on the rocking chair trying to get her to nap whilst DP entertains DD1. Needless to say I'm still in my PJs makeup less with bed head! Good thing I'm going for a low key (ish) look today!

Congrats on a good nights sleep Dom Grin

Good luck with the packing swear!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 09/05/2016 09:09

An hour to go till we have to leave and I've shaved my legs and done half my makeup, woo.

DP and DD1 just had a shower and whilst E was asleep I sneakily put on my dress to take a couple of pics of my outfit! Now back in my bra and pants feeding E ...

Lovely dress and fabulous shoes marmite!

Missikat · 09/05/2016 09:57

Love the dress Marmite! Have an amazing day with your little family.

Swear, have a great holiday...I'm very jealous.

Beaut, hope you are ok, we're all here thinking of you. Hope 'D'H has been in touch and sorted all the things he needed to.

Q, I actually can't believe your MIL, I would be so angry...I'm fuming on your behalf. I had a similar, although nowhere near as rude or awful experience with my MIL recently (who didn't breastfeed). Z has been struggling to gain weight so the dietician has recommended first one, now two bottles a day of special prem baby formula in addition to breastfeeding in order to get more calories into him. When she asked how his weight gain was at last weigh (after a week of one bottle a day of formula) and I said it was still slow and he'd dropped further off his line her first response was 'ah so you'll start just bottle feeding now then?'...um, NO! The neonatal dietician is very keen for him to still be breastfed if that's what I want, it's purely to give him a boost. It annoys me that there is such a culture of bottle must be best!

We've had a stressful 24 hours. Yesterday morning I noticed a load of red, pin prick type marks on Z's hand/arm. They didn't blanch when pressed. I googled it, thinking the worst obviously with a non blanching rash, and the pics that came up of meningitis rashes were exactly the same. Queue me dashing to A&E, luckily only 10 mins down the road. Other than the rash he seemed totally fine but the drs have taken it very seriously. He was admitted to the assessment unit, put on monitoring (thankfully all obs were fine), examined by several drs who all agreed he looked remarkably well. The rash did spread done yesterday up his arm, into his forehead and check. The consultant decided to admit us overnight but not do anything as dramatic as a lumbar puncture or pre emptive antibiotics which would be an immediate at least 3 day stay. Thankfully this morning (after a shocking night's sleep including a ward move at 1am due to massive numbers of kids in a&e) Z still seems fine, the rash has faded a bit and all obs still fine. So hoping to come home today, it's Sod's law this has all been on the hottest day of the year so far but just so happy he seems ok. Just waiting for drs now to decide what's going to happen.

This boy really likes putting me through the mill! I've never had so much worry as over the last 5.5 months with him! But on a positive note in the last couple of days he's started smiling!! I'm so happy, it's been a long, long wait and is hopefully the first sign that things are ok with his brain and his very early and traumatic arrival haven't damaged it.

I'm loving all the smile pics, really hoping to add mine to them soon!

RhubarbAndMustard · 09/05/2016 10:00

Have a lovely day marmite and what a fab dress and shoes! You look wonderful.

Q I'm Angry at their comments but well done for your OH. Just ignore, ignore, ignore!

We have the Angelcare in the bath too. Very good. Loving the trug idea though!

Well J hasn't repeated his 10 hour stint. The hot weather yesterday meant he slept most of the afternoon, had a feed at 5:30pm then slept through until 12:30. That is a good 7 hours, but I only went to bed at 10pm. Doh! He was awake and chatting for about 2 hours before he went back to sleep again.

Me624 · 09/05/2016 11:39

Your dress is gorgeous marmite. Wishing you the happiest of vomit-free days.

I'm just off to the doctor this morning. I can't take any more of the bleeding I've been having since being back on the mini pill. It's the same one I was on before ttc and I never had any problems then so no idea why I am now. I've had constant bleeding for 3 weeks and it's been ridiculously heavy for the last week and a half that I've been soaking through a nighttime pad in 1-2 hours, I woke up this morning having leaked all over the bed, when I have a shower it's like a murder victim has been in there. Apart from being wholly inconvenient I'm worried it'll be making me anaemic again. I suspect there will be nothing the doctor can do other than change me to a different brand and I've only been on it 3 weeks so he may say it's not long enough but I can't hack this - i'd rather just come off it and put up with condoms.

docmcstuffins1 · 09/05/2016 11:57

Q I'm not surprised you were furious at the comments from the MILs, I'm mad on your behalf! It's surprising how everyone suddenly becomes an expert in what's best for you and baby!Angry

Marmite you look gorgeous, have a fantastic day!

Missi glad Z is ok, must have been a worry for you.

We have one of these for bathing O, he's totally supported bad there's a bump in the base to stop him slipping down. He loves it as you can see from the picture!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 09/05/2016 12:03

Thanks everyone! Dress was £35 from lindybop.com in case anyone wants to treat themselves Wink and shoes £18 from debenhams! I haven't wore high heels in a long time so not looking very dignified when walking! Just feeding E in the car before going out for lunch, ceremony was v quick so got here very early.

Your bleeding sounds horrific me definitely get yourself to the doctor to get checked out/an alternative pill.

Ohwoolballs · 09/05/2016 15:11

Happy wedding day marmite 😘💜💙🎉🍰 the dress is gorgeous and looks fantastic on you.

trijo Yes to endless boobing. I think there's only a few days between our babies and we have definitely hit a guzzling growth spurt. Strangely, the other day he ate every hour (!!) but only ate once overnight. My boobs were humongous and painful. I woke up at the usual times though, if I could have been bothered I would have pumped. Was only a one off but it's interesting to see from a distance what sleeping through the night will be like.

Q Arrrg!😡So glad your DP and SiL had your back. I think I got a bit of stink eye from the ILs when I went back to just boob at twoish weeks. I think my MiL was very ready to be the bottle feeder grandma and I took that away from her. Diddums.
On another note we were sat outside at our friends pub yesterday and she was vaping while sat next to him (car seat on table at face level.) she's always quick to be loudly saying "It's just water!" But I point out just as loud that if I can smell strawberry or whatever sickly flavour she's chosen it's not just water. There is a cocktail of chemicles she's blowing in his face. 😡

Me holy crap that sounds horrific! I feel like if the side effects from the pill were from any other medication there would be a much quicker investigation from doctors but for some reason women taking the pill seem to get a "like it or lump it" thing. I used to get migraines and high blood pressure on one of my old brands and it still took seeing two different docs to get it changed. Reminds me I need to go sort out some contraception and hay fever tablets and stool softeners I have a shopping list.

swear have a lovely holiday!

french ditto kitchen sink bathing, also saves my back from aching!

Thank you all so much for the kind words last week when I was on a downer. Things are going okay, we have the 6 week health visitor visiting tomorrow so I might mention my moods. 😕

Missi glad it's not got serious and the hospital have been great. You deserve a strong drink.

beaut I hope you and your babes are doing alright 💜

Cracking weather and I even fit in my massive shorts. 👍

Paperblank · 09/05/2016 16:06

Happy wedding day Mrs Marmite!! Hope it's been lovely Flowers

Me624 · 09/05/2016 17:27

Missi sorry to hear about Zach, that must have been really scary. I'm glad it doesn't seem serious though.

wool I hate vaping too, I find the sickly sweet smell almost worse than the smell of actual cigarettes!! I'm relieved that all of DS's grandparents gave up smoking quite a few years ago so we haven't had to have that argument.

Thanks for the sympathy regarding this awful pill and bleeding. wool you're so right that men wouldn't put up with it! The doctor wasn't amazingly helpful. I can't have the combined pill because of a history of migraines with aura so I'm limited to the mini pill and he said he didn't think there was much point switching me to another brand because the one I'm already on is generally well known to be by far the best one with the least side effects and also all of the others only have a 3 hour time frame in which to take them which would be difficult for me to stick to. So I'm just going to stop taking it, use condoms for a while and consider either the implant or the coil. I've heard quite a few horror stories about horrible bleeding on those as well though so I'm not sure I'm that keen. Anyone got any experiences with either of them?

magpiedreams · 09/05/2016 18:56

Hope your day has gone well marmite, you look very lovely in your push frock and fancy shoes! Thanks for the prosecco paper, don't mind if I do!

missi Zach really puts you through it, I think he'll pay you back with easy peasy teenage years! Hope you got home and the worry is over.

Enjoy your holiday swear!

All this talk of baby baths has reminded me I haven't bathed DS2 for about a week Shock. Best do that tonight! I've been using Johnsons top to toe wash wipes which smell lovely and are nice and big and even better on offer for 1.50 in sainsburys. A rip-off compared with using a flannel and soap I guess but I figure it's a very small guilty pleasure.

magpiedreams · 09/05/2016 18:57

Posh frock, obvs not push frock Hmm really must learn to proof read.

magpiedreams · 09/05/2016 18:58

Also me meant to say I had no bleeding at all with the implant but it's variable. Copper coil can make periods heavier but usually still regular and predictable so that might suit you?

docmcstuffins1 · 09/05/2016 20:21

Me I had the mirena coil before ttc and had no bleeding at all. It was ace and i wish I'd done it years ago rather than swapping from pill to pull trying to find now that suits. I'm having one put back in on the 23rd.

dobbythedoggy · 09/05/2016 20:21

missi how scary, glad to hear zach seems to be okay and you've been getting supportive medical attention.

marmite congratulations, you look beautiful hope your little family had a wonderful day.

me I had the marrina coil before we started ttc. After a few weeks of light bleeding I had nothing for 18 months then very light bleeding for a couple of days every 4 weeks after I had a smear done which I think triggered periods again. I did find that I got awful pmt the last 6 months or so before I had it removed. Will probably get one again but have agreed with dh that I don't want to use anything that could trigger bleeding until periods come back naturally; I want to make the most of not having to deal with them while I can.

Ohwoolballs · 09/05/2016 21:07

Me I had the copper coil and it was fine. I got it taken out while ttc and then heard lots of stories from people "who knew people" that had ectopic pregnancies and so on. So a bit mixed really. 😕
I'm worried about going back on the Pill. I just know it'll be a throwback to my teenage years with acne and weight gain! but I miss ace sex enough to go through with it

G had just got in the bath for ten mins with DP which was very cute and we are now snuggled up with red wine for Game of Thrones.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 09/05/2016 21:51

me I had the copper coil before DD1, it made my periods heavier and longer but I conceived immediately after having it removed so it's true that your fertility returns to normal afterwards (though don't know if you want another DC/can think that far ahead yet!). After DD1 I tried the implant and had no periods. However I didn't actually like that despite it being more convenient and it kind of freaked me out a bit. I'm not a huge fan of hormonal contraception so this time am going back on the copper coil am sure I'll regret it once I get my first period on it

Sorry missi I missed your post somehow earlier, that sounds really horrible and stressful. Have they worked out what the rash is yet? Hope Zach is on the mend Flowers

El has been super sleepy today she's basically just fed or slept! Slightly worried she's going to want to party all night but we'll see...

Thanks again for all the congrats. We had a lovely relaxed day in the end and am glad to now be married to my DH Grin
