Daytime naps are pretty predictable here - DD2 usually needs a nap after (my) breakfast, feeds, sleeps till just before lunch, feeds, sleeps a lot of the afternoon (perhaps waking for a feed and going back to sleep) then wakes up for a good 2-3 hours in the evening. She sleeps a hell of a lot more during the day than DD1 ever did. She also doesn't seem to be able to go to sleep in the pram (which, oddly, was the only place DD1 would sleep until she was 9 months old and went to nursery and learned how to do daytime naps!) so I basically have her in the sling all day long. I did manage to get her to sleep in her bednest for 45 minutes this morning whilst I had a shower but that was pretty much a one off.

Had a crappy night last night - DD2 slept from 7.30-12.00 which was good (though I didn't go to bed until 10.30 so felt like crap), fed for an HOUR, then woke up at 3.30, 5, and 6.30 for feeds. She's also had extra feeds this morning so I think she may be going through a growth spurt - there is supposed to be one around 6-8 weeks I think and I had just yesterday been thinking to myself that I hadn't noticed her having her growth spurt yet. So hopefully that explains the crappy sleep - had two nights of just two wakes prior to last night so was hoping she had dropped down to two feeds now. apparently not!

Swear hope the doctors appointment goes well and you get all your answers re: how long S will need the cast on.

Hope the rest of beaut's weekend was ok.

Haven't started the C25K yet due to having no time to get out in the evenings, although trying to work out when I could do it so that I can start doing parkruns as I know a few people who do them and they sound pretty good and a way to keep motivated with running. Did start my 'intensive work outs' for my exercise regime this morning - I'm currently doing the mutu 12 week system which was very expensive (got it on sale in November and was still £40 for DVD and access to online stuff) but since I knew in advance that my stomach muscles would split and it's designed for separated stomach muscles, I went for it. You start it 6 weeks pp with just core exercises for two weeks, now I'm in week 3 there's some cardio. Was less out of shape than I feared though in a couple of weeks the cardio gets stepped up so will see how I manage then!

I need to get M to sleep somewhere other than on me otherwise I'm never going to get anything done during the day. She's brilliant at night - goes down in her sleepyhead, wakes for a feed but other than that she's fast asleep. Daytime naps are another story.

I need some inspiration....I fancy something scummy for lunch....what's your favourite lunch?

Dom i knew the baby whisperer sounded familiar! I remember the EASY routine from ds so I must have had that book then! We kind of follow that routine anyway, food, play sleep etc.

Maybe no real nap pattern here either. Nighttime sleep is approx 5 hours max before a feed. Today though she was fed at 11.30 woke at 5am to feed so we are a bit out of sync with bottles as she had just fallen asleep on me after only drinking 2oz. Also for gripe water I use infacol as well, dr Google told me it was ok Blush or sometimes I just skip either for one feed as she seems to be dealing a lot lot better with wind.

Beaut it's so good to hear from you. You are doing the right approach being dignified but honesty what a twunt. Stupid inlaws too. None of them deserve their lovely kids/grandkids. Keep strong xxx

I got my period on Friday, has anyone else ff got theirs? It is so heavy and not like my normal ones. When I had ds I was still bf when it came back so I think it was light as normal. I certainly don't remember it like this! The pains as well.

Good luck today swear I would be teary too, men don't get it. Noticed E is developing a flat head one side which upset me yesterday so I totally get where you are coming from.

Purpleprickles · 16/05/2016 13:34

Paper bread, bread and more bread. I just had a salami sandwich and now I'm eating BBQ hula hoops. I'm also sitting around I leggings with no make up on. It's a good job dh is at work otherwise he wouldn't be able to keep his hands off me. What a catch eh?!GrinBlush

QforCucumber · 16/05/2016 14:14

Haha purple I've been trying to low carb until I found the pack of chocolate digestives in the cupboard - sabotage I'm telling you!

paper lunch here was egg mayo and bacon with a salad. Yum.

I thought we had a lovely routine - until last night when ds was awake every 1.5 hours and today has been attached to me for about 3 hours, cluster feeding at 8 weeks?!

QforCucumber · 16/05/2016 14:28

Also oh the 30 day shred is an exercise dvd by gillian Michaels from the us biggest loser. It's only 25 minutes long including warm up and cool down and it's cardio and toning in one. I YouTube it and usually do it before a holiday - kills you at first but by about day 10 you start to really notice a difference in stamina and tone!

Paperblank · 16/05/2016 14:55

Oooh BBQ hula hoops! I have got a serious crisp fetish at the moment I could happily eat 20 packs a day - my hips may protest though.

I've had leftover chili. Boring but it needed eating. What I really wanted was for some to knock on the door with something like a family sized box of jaffa cakes just for me.

Life is unfair!!

Purple I have had the most horrendous period, sooo heavy. I think mine was caused by the mini pill though.

Dom sorry I meant that DS is ready to have a nap about 90 mins after he first wakes up for the day. The length of the nap is often only 30 minutes! The longest he ever naps is about 90 minutes and that's usually a middle of the day sort of nap.

Swearwolf · 16/05/2016 16:29

Poor little wonkylegs Sad She was a little trooper and took the plastering very well. They couldn't say how long she would have them on for, it's very much wait and see. We're back in a week to get them changed and then another week after that. It's already a pain in the arse, nappy changes are messy! Just about to spend a fortune on the Next website on clothes that will fit around them as sleep suits won't. I've done something mad and added into my basket the most gorgeous little dress I've ever seen, in 12-18 months for next year!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 16/05/2016 18:14

Well I spoke too soon about DD2s predictable naps Confused after a normal mornings sleep she's basically been awake all afternoon Shock and on the boob constantly, so think we're in growth spurt territory. I drove to my MIL to pick up DD1, she slept the twenty mins there, woke up as soon as I got there, then slept the twenty minutes back and woke up as soon as we got home....

I usually have sandwiches for lunch, nothing too exciting either cheese or home made houmus. Occasionally will have beans on toast if I'm pushing the boat out or soup if its cold!

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 18:46

DS has been so windy the last few days. He burps and farts but he's still in pain. Don't know what to do but can't cope with the screaming!!

Purpleprickles · 16/05/2016 20:21

Ah Swear she is a cutie. Her little legs bless her. A good excuse for shopping though. I hope the casts are off before you know it.

Maybe have you tried the tiger in the tree hold? It's the only thing that stops E when she is in pain.

Me I remember you posting about that period now. I'm not on the pill, it doesn't agree with me. I'm just hoping this ends soon.

Screamy screamerson here tonight. Confused

Swearwolf · 16/05/2016 20:33

Aww purple, we're having a screamfest here too. Sylvie gets super windy too and the same thing doesn't always work, we haven't hit upon any magic technique yet. Dh has gone out so I might just take her to bed and play white noise in the dark. Hope yours ends soon!

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 21:10

purple yeah we did the tiger hold tonight but there's a limit to how long I can hold him like that - the minute I took him out of it to get him ready for bed he was off again. He was happy as anything in the bath but immediately screamed when taken out. I swaddled him, put his dummy in, put him in the sleepyhead and turned the radio to static and he was fast asleep within 2 minutes. But I'm dreading tomorrow being the same. None of the other babies I see seem to be screaming!!!

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 21:12

The thing is he burps but then still seems in pain I worry something isn't right.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 16/05/2016 21:48

maybe if you're worried you could try seeing the GP? Having said that, DD2 fusses and cries with trapped wind and does it even after passing farts or burping, and I wonder if even though she's farting/burping, that there's still gas trapped.

Finally managed to get DD2 to sleep at 9.15 Confused so apart from a few cat naps she was awake for over 7 hours. She was absolutely knackered and fussing loads, wanting a lot of boob but also seemed very windy so I have no idea what was wrong or if it was loads of things. Hoping she does a decent chunk of sleep now but fear we are in for a bad night.

Getting the IUD fitted tomorrow afternoon I'm absolutely dreading it!

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 21:51

My instinct is that he's ok and just fussy/wind - but v frustrating to hear a good strong burp/fart and then have him carry on screaming! I think he just gets himself worked up and overtired, as evidenced by how fast he fell asleep!

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 21:52

marmite I had the copper coil fitted a few years ago - fitting was totally fine and I hadn't even had a baby then so by all accounts it should have been fine. I'm sure you will be ok Smile

Swearwolf · 16/05/2016 21:54

Could it be silent reflux maybe? Would explain why being on his front and sucking a dummy both help.

We're in the dark bedroom with some white noise. I tried feeding her but she just screamed around the boob, then all of a sudden she was out, like a switch had been flipped. I managed to move her but don't dare turn off the app!!! This is her crazy getup tonight, she can't have anything over her legs but I was worried she'd get chilly so have stuck her top half in the swaddle. Seems to have done the trick!

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 22:01

I don't know swear - I had considered it but he sicks up an awful lot so it isn't that silent Grin he's gaining weight like a champ so the GP doesn't care. Plus it's only the last 3 days or so it's been bad. I'm actually wondering if it could be a reaction to his jabs. Bless Sylvie, she looks so cute.

Swearwolf · 16/05/2016 22:14

Oh it could be the jabs maybe, I've heard a few people say that meningitis b one really unsettles them. I was hoping not, we've got them on Wednesday.

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 22:17

He had them on Thursday though so it would be a fairly delayed reaction right?

Purpleprickles · 16/05/2016 22:23

Maybe is it just the evening? I could have written your post tonight, bath happy then screaming as soon as she was out and then about 9.15 fast asleep. Tonight I think she was just being a grump because mid screams I put her under her mobile thing and she stopped for a while and then it all started again.

Purpleprickles · 16/05/2016 22:25

We have the jabs tomorrow. Absolutely dreading it Sad

maybebabybee · 16/05/2016 22:30

purple no he was like it for about 20 mins this morning too and on and on off for most of the day on Sunday which makes me think it's wind related rather than general evening fussiness. Bloody hope it isn't colic starting at 9 weeks! Here's hoping it is just the grumps.

Flowers to those of you with upcoming jabs. To be fair DS was fine directly afterwards (very mild fever but I don't even think he noticed) but he did yell the place down when they did them.
