My hips hurt now. I rewarded myself with a sausage sandwich and dark chocolate digestives mmm

Has she got a balance bike? I have no clue what to get the dc for Christmas etc. I know it's ages away but it really will be hard this year.

GeoffreysGoat · 02/08/2016 21:54

Godawful sparkly shoes, plastic jewellery, hats/ears/masks, equipment eg Dr kit?

GeoffreysGoat · 02/08/2016 21:56

I was thinking of a tablet for R, he loves kidstube on my hudl. And/or a cheap camera. He's just started swimming and is signed up for gymnastics in September so I'll ask for contributions if the in laws want suggestions (they usually do)

WLmum · 02/08/2016 21:59

Bath paints/crayons - mine loved them and they weren't a nightmare to clean off surprisingly.

WLmum · 02/08/2016 21:59

tangled I think we're going there on Thursday!

WreckTangled · 03/08/2016 06:26

Oh are you? Don't eat in the restaurant it's so expensive! I love arundel though so much to do.

Ds is crying because he wants ice cream for breakfast and dd has a swollen eye as she must be allergic to the face paint from yesterday.

MrsNutella · 03/08/2016 18:50

Thanks for all the ideas ladies! I also found a bag/purse set that I know she will love. she loves putting things into bags and then telling us she is going shopping. She also loves getting anything that wears clothes naked. Those seem to be her favourite things at the moment.
Looking forward to a utopia where we all shop as much as we want as long as we comply with the rules set down by DD for nudity

Wreck I hope your day improved and DD's eye isn't too bad.

We took DS to the ENT today and he sucked a load of goo out of his ears. He has some kind of infection in the bad side so we have drops for that. He fetched the grommet out of his "good" ear because it was loose apparently; better to take it out rather than have it cause any difficulties he said. DS was a star and even he complained a little bit he was really good about having things in his ears.

I did ask if his hearing was being affected by the infection and the Dr said "if at all only a little" Bugger Confused....

WLmum · 05/08/2016 20:47

I'm so tired we've just had pot noodles for tea! (Not the kids)

WreckTangled · 05/08/2016 20:52

I had bourbons and cider Grin

WLmum · 05/08/2016 21:58

Nice work tangled

halestone · 06/08/2016 09:43

Sorry i've been AWOL for abit. Bourbon and cider sounds perfect right about now. Strangely i took H to the Drs yesterday to see about her hearing as we are not sure whether her ignoring us is her choice or she just can't hear us, they are sending her for a hearing test. Also she has to see the paediatric team about her stomach as she has been telling us about having a sore belly for a couple of weeks and her stomach muscles are still separated from when she was born, not sure what they will do but will soon find out. Her behaviour has been awful recently but we have just started a reward chart on the fridge and she seems to like it so FX it works.

WL could you give DD2 a diary to write about her feelings, once she has written it down she may feel better as its out of her system.

halestone · 06/08/2016 09:46

Nutella i forgot to say, maybe you could buy Dd2 one of those childrens shopping trolleys, they sell them at smyths and toys r us. You can buy pretend foods to go with it and she an play shop at home, or even take the trolley with you when you go shopping.

Barbeasty · 06/08/2016 11:01

Hales we use the chocolate test to decide if it's real or selective deafness. When they aren't looking at you, quietly tell them you have some chocolate. You'll soon know if they can hear!

My DN turned out to be fairly deaf (needed aids in at least one ear) and that was only picked up when she was about 5 or 6 when they lived in America for a bit. They had the same thing with behaviour and ignoring etc for years until it was spotted.

Hope you get the appointments through quickly hales. Love the idea of the chocolate test beasty!

We just booked flights to New Zealand for Easter next year. I can't wait! Haven't seen PIL's for almost two years now.

PurplePidjin · 06/08/2016 21:35

I NC back for an oldies thread, feels like I'm back to being me again Blush

WLmum · 06/08/2016 22:22

Hey pidj good to have you back Wink
tangled that is amazing!! Would love to go to NZ, not sure about that flight with dc though.
Builders finished yesterday, have started to put the house slowly back together. We need to get it straight so we can find stuff to pack - this time next week we'll be in Spain Grin

WreckTangled · 07/08/2016 06:36

Yay you've always been pidj to me!

WL dd will be the same age as me when I first went. We took my brother when he was six months and three. It will be tough going but will be worth it Smile

MrsNutella · 07/08/2016 08:13

Yay Pidj! Grin nice to see your old name again.

Wreck I want to hear all about your plans for NZ! It's where I met DH and we really want to take the kids one day. How long are you going for? It also one of the factors for deciding about DC3

DH does now want anymore. I sometimes do, but our kids are not easy. They are both very very demanding and we find it quite hard with just two of them. I think a dc3 could bring balance or make life seriously hard. Ho hum. Time will tell.

WreckTangled · 07/08/2016 08:32

We're going 3rd-22nd of April so over the Easter holidays flying with Thai airways. £1300 for the four of us Shock PIL's have a three bedroom apartment practically on the beach with a roof top pool. I can't wait! I've been twice before but Dh hasn't and obviously nor have the dc. Dd will be a similar age to when I first went.

MrsNutella · 07/08/2016 08:53

I'm confused.... Whose PIL are they?

And where are they? It's all well and good being near a beach, but if you're on the southern tip of he southern island you might get washed away Wink I know it gets more rainy as you go south.

Either way, I'm jealous! Really really jealous!!

1300 sounds a really good price to me!

halestone · 07/08/2016 09:01

Beasty we have tried that sometimes she hears us sometimes she doesn't. I think its more selective deafness but i wanted to double check just because i always thought she was clumsy when she fell over all thr time or walked in walls or other objects, turns out it was her eyesight causing those problems.

Yay its nice to see your old name Pidj.

Wrecked New Zealand sounds amazing, i bet your so excited. My uncle lives there and loves it.

WL are you all excited for Spain? What building works were you having done?

Nutella, me and Dp are currently discussing whether we want another DC. We both know that right now, it is not an option for us as it just isn't feasible with everything going on with DSD and also financially. But i have always wanted another child of my own IYSWIM and my feelings don't seem to be changing. But i also feel that as H gets older do i really want to start again? Like you said though only time will tell.

I got up this morning got both girls ready for morris dancing. I had braided H's hair and was about to braid Dsds hair when both girls started complaining of being ill, both girls are now back in bed with temperatures. Today may be a long day.

WreckTangled · 07/08/2016 09:05

My PIL's dh's parents. We're going to whakatane, bay of plenty Smile

Oh no hales I hope they're OK! Love that they do Morris dancing.

halestone · 07/08/2016 09:37

H's medicine has kicked in so shes currently hot but fine in herself. Dsd is fast asleep.

Barbeasty · 07/08/2016 20:20

We go to Spain too WL, but we'll be on the ferry this time next week. It's the first time abroad for both DC, so they're insanely excited.

We went to London for the day today. Exhibition in the British Museum this morning, then finding BFG Dream Jars until nobody could walk any further. We finally managed to show the children Trafalgar Square without any of it fenced off.

PurplePidjin · 07/08/2016 21:16

We're off to see the bfg on Friday, R's first time at the flicks!
