Ooh super jealous of your nights in the spare room one and country' We don't have a spare room but I'd happily sleep on the sofa for a decent chunk of sleep!
Are your babies usually bf? If so, do they take the bottle ok? starts planning my sofa night!

Hobbit19 · 17/04/2016 04:21

Yes usually BF rdm, so I leave two bottles worth of milk in the fridge (hopefully dropping back down to one as her sleep settles), and then I go to sleep in the spare room snuggling my breast pump! I normally have to express during the night but it doesn't take long to express enough to be comfy and then I can do a big express sesh in the morning.

CarrotPuff · 17/04/2016 07:54

Yay for sleep Country and pud, I'm very jealous... Had a crap night here, but feeling more refreshed than after a "good" night yesterday? My body is bonkers.

We had first proper smile yesterday Smile DS is away at GPs, can't wait to see if she smiles for him, she usually really watches him when he comes over to "talk".

I'm so having a bath today!

DulcetMoans · 17/04/2016 08:24

A bath?! Great idea carrot! I've actually not had one since he was born. Was having them every day in the last couple weeks of pregnancy but not so much since.

What a great way to share the load pud and carrot! I'm not sure it would work here yet (and I'd have to sleep on he sofa!) but I will keep it in mind as a way forward when he will do longer stretches.

I fly from love and hate for my DH since the baby was born rdm. I know I am mostly pretty lucky with him but he is thoughtless sometimes - he wouldn't think to get the babies dinner ready and never changes a nappy if I am here. Most the time I crack on with it but every now and again something else happens to annoy me and I remember these things!

My date day was good thanks. Went back to bed after dropping baby off, but only managed 40mins sleep annoyingly! Out for lunch, but of shopping and then picked him up. I did miss him and felt sad once he had gone to bed as felt like I had barely seen him.

Off to NCT sale today - wish me luck!

lildottie · 18/04/2016 20:02

Hello lovely mummies. Hope you and your little ones are all doing well. Just popping over to ask some advice from you please. I'm packing my hospital bag ATM and am almost there but can't decide what to pack to come home in. Very tempting to just stick an extra set of pjs in for this but was wondering what you all wore home and if it worked or you'd do it differently? TIA

MaGratgarlik1983 · 18/04/2016 22:56

I think I just wore leggings and a top nothing fancy! Good luck!

DulcetMoans · 19/04/2016 08:22

Hi lil! Ah the bag pack - spent weeks thinking about it and packing/re-packing it but in the end I barely looked at it on the day. I can't completely remember what I came home in but I would have been mega baggy because of the scar. I was still in my maternity leggings for weeks so I imagine it was that and a baggy top. How you feeling about it all?

lildottie · 19/04/2016 19:08

Hi dulcet feeling a mixture of excited and stressed out! Being induced at 39weeks now (currently 32weeks) as I have GD, and as bad as it sounds I'm desperate for the next 7 weeks to go so I can enjoy normal food again! That said I think I may miss the wriggling and fidgeting going on inside me!
Sounds like leggings is a good option so I'll wait a few weeks and pack my mat leggings and a mat dress to go home in. How's ur little one doing? Not so little now of course!

Thanks too ma

ZylaB · 19/04/2016 19:08

lil maternity leggings, a tshirt and hoodie. Just comfy comfy stuff! :). Remember you'll have a pad the size of a canoe between your legs and possibly tearing/stitches/csection scar, so maternity legging are good because they're nice and loose around all those areas.

Fleurchamp · 19/04/2016 22:09

Hi all!

I haven't been on the Fred for agggges!

Good to see things are going well lil! Sorry to hear about the GD, that must be miserable - food was my only pleasure towards the end.

Bag packing - I came home in a maternity maxi dress. It was a hot day in July. I just threw it in before we left as I only had about 4 items of clothing that fit at that point.

I went to hospital in my pjs though Blush I got dressed out of my pjs and just as I was about to leave my waters broke and so I put them back on. I bumped into my neighbour too!

All the best if I don't get back on here again soon Grin

CarrotPuff · 19/04/2016 22:24

I wouldn't pack a dress unless it has easy boob access or you are planning to take it off as soon as you arrive home.

Nefertitts · 20/04/2016 04:30

Just popping my head in. Hi lil waves excitedly lovely to see you over here and to know the lilbean is getting closer to arrival! I could barely summon the energy to get dressed, was bloated like a porpoise from IV fluids and still had a massive baby pouch when I left hospital - and it was a week pp. so comfort, and boob access, are the key priorities!

hippopotamoose · 20/04/2016 09:09

Hey all! I'm reading but not had much time recently for posting.

Hi lil nice to see you and to hear it's going well! Really looking forward to your birth announcement! I just wore mat leggings and baggy t shirt in the months days after birth. Was too uncomfortable for anything else and it was a heatwave. Don't forget eye mask and ear plugs for the ward!

Will post properly soon.

hippopotamoose · 20/04/2016 09:25

Oh. I forgot NC! I'm La by the way. Fuckit im changing it again...

hippopolalaa · 20/04/2016 09:29

Better?

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 20/04/2016 15:46

Hi all, hope everyone is well. Hello Lil, I second everyone's recommendations for baggy and boob accessible clothes - you will not care what you look like! And flip flops for the bathrooms.

Sorry have not posted in a while. Not having a terribly good time here. R's sleeping is now so awful - waking up to 10 times a night, resisting naps too - we're on the verge of getting some outside help, a sleep clinic or consultant. We've tried everything and it's just getting worse and worse. We are so exhausted we can barely function.

Also feeling a bit heartbroken as we didn't get any of our six school choices for P and have allocated a random, unpopular faith school that I don't want him to go to. Feeling a bit low about everything. I'm sure I'll get more perspective when I get a decent night's sleep.

lildottie · 20/04/2016 18:09

Good point carrot had forgotten I'd need boobs accessible! Fail!

Hi nif lol at baby pouch! Made me think of a kangaroo! I'm dreading the flabby mess of a belly I'll have after!

Hi la, wondered who it was there for a second! Great NC. Hope the sleep is improving as your little man gets a bit older, or if not that you are getting plenty of booze! Eye mask is packed but need to put ear plugs on the list! Thanks!

snap sorry your having a rough time. You can have my share of Biscuit and Cake to help as I can't have them!

Off to first NCT class now. Thanks for all your help. Will go back to lurking for a few weeks and catch you all soon x

jellypi3 · 21/04/2016 06:45

Hey lil' can deffo recommend leggings and t-shirt. Just don't do what I did and forget you'd shoes! (DP had taken them home accidently lol)

Hobbit19 · 21/04/2016 07:06

Ha ha La, great NC!

Snapdragon, Urgh to being up 10 times a night; that is horrendous! Do you live in London to have that many school choices? We only get 3 choices I think.

hippopolalaa · 21/04/2016 08:00

Hi

Snap we were the same - B would only sleep on us or wake up every 15/20 min in cot. It was unbearable and I was on my knees.

I did gentle sleep training and by day 9 he slept through. Not going to pretend he's slept through every night since because he hasn't! But he now goes down awake and puts himself to sleep, then sleeps for most of the night waking only occasionally if dummy falls out. The book I used is this one. It has case studies of problems then steps to help. There's no leaving babies to cry and the first night took 45 min, then 20, then 5. He was putting himself to sleep by day 3.

hippopolalaa · 21/04/2016 08:08

Dulcet what did you get at the NCT sale?

We are starting to think about next stage car seat, he's 23lb at 9 months old and looks a bit uncomfortable. But I know you're meant to keep them in first stage as long as possible.

B is a leaping teething monkey just now. Cries at anything. But he's also wonderful and funny, so I forgive him. Very cuddly and cute. I so miss him sleeping on me but at same time it's good he will sleep in the cot now. My baby's growing up Sad

Carrot smiles are lovely! Smile

Rdm yes yes yes! My Dh was the most annoying person in the world until recently. He's now found his way with B and is much more helpful, but he did randomly turn his bedroom light on at 4am the other day waking him up. Grr

MaGratgarlik1983 · 21/04/2016 08:20

I know, DS is eight months now and he won't fall asleep on me much anymore. It's good but part of me misses the lap naps! Just the other day he finally worked out how to sit up, is commando crawling and saying some words! Where did the time go??! Stacking cups are still fascinating though!

How's the weather with everyone? Been so nice here the last few days. Lovely!

rdm10 · 21/04/2016 09:37

Another vote here for leggings and a baggy top. Oh and if you have elephant feet don't expect them to go down as soon as baby's out and bring pre-pregnancy shoes!!

snap that sounds really hard. H is up about 4/5 times a night and he's tough to put back down but he does nap in the day. I don't catch up on my sleep but I at least I get to chill out for a couple of hours. I really hope it gets better for you.

H slept for 4 hours this morning in my bed but only once I'd 'caccooned' him up with me on one side and pillows on the other so I might look at creating some sort of 'sleep fort' in his cot. One that's cuddly but won't smother him though, hmmm!?

hippo a shop assistant in mothercare told me H looked almost too big for his car seat last week. She said 'I don't think he'll get to the recommended 15 months, his heads nearly at the top'. She was a bit 😳 when I said he's only 5 months!!

It's gorgeous here. Yesterday I spent a big chunk of the afternoon indoors with a sleeping baby and the curtains closed so today we're getting out in the garden!

Enjoy the sunshine!

CarrotPuff · 21/04/2016 11:34

Omg la, 23lbs! My DS weighs 26lbs and he's 2.5yo Shockgreat you are finally getting some sleep.

We also had a couple warm and sunny days but today is cloudy and cold again. Boo.

I'm having a shit day. Been on the verge of tears all morning. Had a rubbish night with O and C is being a major PITA. Just pushing every button imaginable and whinging all the time. I just don't have any mental and emotional strength so just keep shouting at him and then feeling guilty about it Confused oh and it was supposed to be my fasting day today, but I've just had some rocky road slices with tea as it's all got a bit too much. Oh and DP forgot to take O's passport application to get countersigned AGAIN, and also drove off with my jacket in the car.

...Is it too early for wine?..

Hobbit19 · 21/04/2016 19:46

Carrot, I am right there with you on the eating front. The days that I am tired I just eat constantly and undo all the hard work from the days where I've eaten well. So frustrating!!
