maybe I started contracting last Sunday at 8:30am and went hospital at 2pm only to be 1cm dilated but the mw said walking will really help. It really has with me because by 5pm I was 6cm. Don't stress yourself too much go for a walk and keep your energy that's one thing I've learnt as by the time I had Mia I was super exhausted so try and relax Flowers

Thanks girls I think I will phone the mw because they said they could come round and check my stitches too.

QforCucumber · 12/03/2016 09:52

hayley I'm still here too, nothing doing, mild aches but they're constant rather than crampy and baby is very very active so not expecting anything any time soon. Was hoping to go this weekend as dp is needed at work the week after easter bank holiday so wanted his 2 weeks this week and the one after Sad

marmite I've had 2 sweeps, a couple of 'ooo' moments but nothing terribly painful, I had no bleeding or anything but have read about people who have bed after :-/ I lost my plug after the 2nd one (Tuesday just gone) but doesn't seem to have done anything else

maybe saw your other thread too, do hope you've managed to get some sleep to build up your energy.

Bump good luck at the park!

rosie think I'm going to take your advice too and have a wander on dps treadmill while he is at the football today, hopefully trigger something!

MyNameIsSuz · 12/03/2016 09:55

Me too hayley and q, maybe we'll be the same day as each other after all. I'm walking ds to the park in a minute, Costa reward on the way home, maybe it will get things moving!

Rosieblossom123 · 12/03/2016 09:59

Honestly girls walking really sped things up I only walked round the maternity ward but for a good hour it was painful but it will hopefully get things moving Flowers

maybebabybee · 12/03/2016 10:17

We went for two hour long walks yesterday which didn't do much (clearly as I still have no baby!) but will try again today. When we got back from the hospital I was exhausted and had to lie down which probably stalled things.

Are babies meant to go still in labour? The midwife said they should still move as normal. Mine seems to be anyway.

Rosieblossom123 · 12/03/2016 10:28

Maybe not going to lie to you I didn't feel baby move at all when I was in labour, but I was focusing on the contractions and the pain so much that I forgot to monitor baby's movement but the check baby's heartbeat every little while.

TriJo · 12/03/2016 10:33

Had 38 week appointment yesterday @ 38+5 - midwife seems to be convinced I'm going to go overdue. Head not engaged at all despite the fact that the level of Braxton-Hicks and fanny daggers has kicked up a lot in the last week and little one seems a little too comfortable for his own good!

Going to tempt fate anyway and go racing at Sandown Park this afternoon - if nothing else the time on my feet might help!

TheMshipIsBack · 12/03/2016 11:02

Good luck wooden and maybe!!

Back from clinic, Tamsin gained back a solid 100g (almost 4 oz) in two days. I'm properly chuffed. We nursed through the first episode of Doctor Thorne last night, I highly recommend it as cluster feed viewing.

MyNameIsSuz · 12/03/2016 12:20

Well my long walk to the park and vigorous swing-pushing has not had the desired effect. Just lying on my bed feeling like I've pulled every muscle in my torso!!! Did get to go to Costa on the way home though so can't complain Smile

Great news mship!

docmcstuffins1 · 12/03/2016 13:00

Good luck wooden and maybe. 41+8 today and seem to have hit "the wall", have no energy, and no motivation to do anything. I know I should be trying everything to get baby doc out, but tbh I can't be arsed. Have been for a walk with dogs this morning, now just vegging out in the sofa and going to watch the rugby. May work up the energy to bounce on the ball later on.

Rosieblossom123 · 12/03/2016 13:14

Doc don't over do things you need your energy honestly just incase anything happens.

Phoned the mw and told her about the blood clots and they asked me to go to the hospital to get checked so current waiting for swab results, etc.
left Mia at home with her daddy and I feel weird, just leaving her is so strange I miss her so much already and it hasn't even been an hour yet!! It's crazy how someone so little can be such a big part of your life.

Poppins27 · 12/03/2016 13:33

Well done mship!!! Like you mentioned previously I found bfing fairly horrific last time. I'm convinced it was due to a bad latch when in hospital on night 2, every feed felt like dd was drawing needles through my nips. Resulted in persevering for 5 weeks (dd struggled taking a bottle well despite trying), we tried shields, pumping, saw a bfing consultant, but ultimately my head was a wreck and I started resenting my Dd when she needed feeding. Enough was enough when she was sick on me and it was pure blood from my breast.

I was quite apprehensive about tying again, but fully prepared to stop a lot earlier if necessary this time as did not want my bond with DS affecting. But...touch wood...like you I've tried being preventative. I will wait until we have a correct latch despite how long it takes, have used nipple cream from feed 1, not waiting until cracks appear...although painful at the initial latch, counting to 10 helps deal with that...and so far so good.

It feels great, I'm no bfing campaigner, I genuinely couldn't care less how people choose to feed, but the lazy bugger in me finds being able to pop out a boob and not have to mess with sterilising bottles etc a lot easier!

IndomitabIe · 12/03/2016 13:46

Hey all,

I'm really grossed out - we're at this conference, DS was in the crèche, some kids puked in the crèche (fair enough, it happens with kids). Just had lunch and I was sat in the lounge area while DS plays outside with DH and behind me I hear the tale of the puking kid in the crèche. He's there, in the lounge with his mum, puking into a bowl 10 feet from my muffin. How gross?! I so hope this isn't noro about to do the rounds. I don't want to be driving back tomorrow with pukey family. Angry

Poppins27 · 12/03/2016 13:46

Ps keeping everything crossed for wooden and maybe. Grin

BeautifulLiar · 12/03/2016 14:02

Hope you're ok maybe. I didn't feel Nance move during labour either.

Rosie I know exactly how you feel. I miss Nancy loads if she's even in a different room!

Rosieblossom123 · 12/03/2016 14:08

Beautiful I'm glad it's not just me haha it's all I can think about right now just want the mw to hurry up I wanna cuddle my baby!!

Timetogrowup2016 · 12/03/2016 16:04

Maybe- hope your ok.
During my induction I had two days off very painful latent phase labour and I seriously didn't think I could do it as it was so painful from the start but once my waters broke she was here in about 4 hours. Keep going. I didn't think I'd manage any sleep in the latent phase but I did and you'd be very surprised what your body is capable of on so little if you don't get much more. I was. Women are truly amazing.

You can do this. And the reward at the end is the most amazing thing ever. Baby will be here before you know it.
I'm missing little one today. She's with her nan so me and dp can have a meal out tonight but I want her back. The break is nice but it's like a little part of me has gone :( going to try and enjoy a few hours break though.
I must admit the one thing about formula feeding is the turns we take. She feeds every three hours so we get a decent chunk of sleep most nights.

I hope her right ear Is Ok Monday. Mrsells few thinks it's because her ear is so tiny and the left is fine so at least I know she can hear me when I jabber on about rubbish to her.

Timetogrowup2016 · 12/03/2016 16:05

Also once my waters broke I didn't feel calais at all. Too busy and trying to cope to feel her. But I was monitored once I was taken round to delivery suite so she was fine

Timetogrowup2016 · 12/03/2016 16:08

Midwife not Mrsells lol

dobbythedoggy · 12/03/2016 17:08

time hope everything goes well on mobday. I remember when dd had hers done that back ground noice can play a big part in not getting the correct feedback. Dh and bil used to have an american pool table in our living room which is beneith our bedroom where hv was doing the test. The background noice interfeared with her first attempt in one ear but luckily she was allowed to test each ear 3 times and dd passed the 2nd atempt. Hv said things like traffic can effect it.

I didn't feel Eddy move at all during labour, but know he was kicking and wriggling away as I was hooked up to continuous monitoring.

indom hope none of you catch anything. It sounds disscusting, paticually of ds is already a risk with car sickness. At least it wasn't like one of the mum's at the music group I attend who didn't react at all when her little girl was vomiting all over the carpet and was rather put out when the lovely volentre who cleaned her up pointed out they needed to leave there and then not at the end of the session.

Timetogrowup2016 · 12/03/2016 17:23

Thank you. She's had two tests all ready.
This test is different at the hospital as she failed both times. Hopefully it'll be ok though

BumpPower · 12/03/2016 17:23

Oh yuk indom hope you all stay vom free. I went for a walk - marched up and down the sea wall steps a few times and have been on my feet scrubbing shelves this afternoon. Absolutely nothing is happening....grrrr I wouldn't mind but yesterday got me all excited! Have dug out the breast pump might plug myself in later see if that helps!

TheMshipIsBack · 12/03/2016 17:54

poppins your first bf experience sounds truly horrendous! Mine was nowhere near that bad, but I did take a break with combi feeding from about 2-6 weeks to help heal, and we got back to ebf at that point. suz it's already getting easier, I noticed a big improvement in comfort today. I hope it goes as well for you. I think the biggest thing has been the lack of pressure, mostly from myself if I'm honest - I'm taking it very easy, feeding and recovering from birth is my only job and DH is in charge of everything else (and I mean everything - cooking, cleaning, shopping, nappies, DS preschool drop off and pick up, etc). We're leaning heavily on the GPs to help with DS and have had no other visitors.

IndomitabIe · 12/03/2016 19:41

TheM that sounds perfect. I've already told DH that I plan to spend at least a week post-birth in bed. As in, actually in bed (maybe with a shower occasionally!). He will have to do everything else while I recover and get feeding sorted.

Last time we were out walking in the park etc within days, and I felt alright (despite tear) but with hindsight I think focusing on physical recovery was rather neglected. (I've treated pregnancy much the same this time, prioritising rest before I start to flag).

Hope the walking/bouncing/resting has been productive for those with some action. I don't think wooden has been back on since this morning?

I deffo had some plug lost earlier! (After a highly suspicious "bowel clear out" too, but which is probably more down to my horror at the puking children earlier than anything else!) last time contractions started almost immediately after the plug appeared, so I had a lie down, and nothing happened! Lots of BHs this afternoon though. Though I'd like to have this baby sooner rather than later, tomorrow night would work better for us!

IndomitabIe · 12/03/2016 19:48

Erm, actually, I thought it was Octo-Baby himself shoving his head downward, but I seem to be having some repetitive pressure at the front & bottom of my bump this evening. Doesn't feel like cervix though... sure it's nothing...
