Congratulations hayley!

(Up with bed wetting DS)

MyNameIsSuz · 23/03/2016 02:52

Congratulations hayley!

nixxxy · 23/03/2016 03:03

Congrats hayley!

CSC here. Had bad acid reflux that made my throat burn and now I can't get comfortable again. DH is snoring away happily next to me - I think I'm just a bit anxious about midwife tomorrow. MIL is taking me (my own mum lives 100 ish miles away, I miss her for stuff like this but get on v.well with MIL) and I'm fretting about a sweep being uncomfortable. Which is ridiculous since I'm due to push a baby out sometime in the next week. Ah the joys of being a FTM.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 23/03/2016 04:52

Gah, just wrote long post and phone crashed and I lost it! Not what you want at this time of the morning!

Congrats Hayley what a whopper and only a first degree tear!

Thanks for the tip dobby Smile We do have a close caboo sling and have taken her in it for short trips to hospital but will send DP out on a longer walk today!

MrsElls · 23/03/2016 06:13

Congratulations hayley what a weight for no pain relief!

IndomitabIe · 23/03/2016 06:22

Morning. I'm due today Grin... nope, not in labour Hmm

BumpPower · 23/03/2016 06:31

Congratulations hayley Flowers well done you! Sounds amazing!
I'm off to the hospital today with DS1 for his annual check up (he had a bit of an exciting birth and was in the NICU for a week so they like to keep tabs on him). Am tempted to March up and down the stairs to the maternity unit while I'm there.....
Then I have another sweeping the afternoon at my GPs. Am not hopeful about any of it tbh, just feels like I will be pregnant forever!
V impressed making it in on your due date indom clearly crazy but impressive Grin

Woodenmouse · 23/03/2016 06:34

Congratulations trinpy

Wow hayley that's really impressive!! Dex was 9lb13 and by the end I was begging for all the pain relief they could give me!!

IndomitabIe · 23/03/2016 06:51

I haven't left yet, Bump! Good luck stomping around the hospital today!

Got some definite BH action going on already. But that doesn't mean much. And lower back ache, but it's morning, so that doesn't mean much either.

vroc81 · 23/03/2016 06:55

Congratulations Trinpy and Hayley!!!

Thinking labour vibes for you Indom bump and Nixxy!

I had a whole 5hrs sleep last night - how times change that I am so pleased with that!!! Off for the tongue tie chop this morning then hoping can drop at least some of the expressing and get her feeding better..

docmcstuffins1 · 23/03/2016 08:16

Huge congratulations trinpy, the thought of your mum getting a tsunami when your waters went made me chuckle! William is gorgeous!

Congrats to Hayley - what a good size, and with no pain relief too - I think you must be superwoman!

Indom I take my hat off to you going in to work - you are amazing! Oliver was also above the 90th centile throughout and 'predicted' to be 9lb as I was 2 weeks over. He weighed 7lb3 when he was born so their measurements are all a load of rubbish!

Poppins I hope the 'demon baby' stage passes soon and Oliver doesn't go through it it sounds exhausting!

Suz your DS sounds adorable! It must be so hard for all of you balancing newborns with older siblings.

Maybe, Oliver sleeps like that too, I'm sure it's not dangerous (refexes would make them move if they compromised their airways or anything)

Good luck to all of you still playing the waiting game! We're hopefully getting discharged today (Oliver is due his last antibiotics in an hour), can't wait!

ffauxlivia · 23/03/2016 08:20

Goodness me hayley well done you!! Shock and congrats!!

indom, bump, nix you gotta have these babies before the end of this thread and that's an order!!

TriJo · 23/03/2016 08:33

3 days overdue. Still not a whimper. GTFO, little one!

Woodenmouse · 23/03/2016 10:04

Come on final March babies!!!

Dexter slept from 11-6 last night, the extra sleep has made me feel even more tired!!

maybebabybee · 23/03/2016 10:12

Baby dust to all you overdue ladies!!

Sid did a big cluster feed between 11 and 1.30 last night but then let us sleep until 6.30. Then woke up for a feed, then back to sleep until about 9. Feel guilty as the other NCT mums all seem to be waking their babies up to feed every 2 hours.

magpiedreams · 23/03/2016 10:28

Congratulations hayley!

maybe, don't feel bad, just enjoy it while it lasts!

Good luck with your appointment and sweep nix. Ranitidine really helps my reflux, have you tried that? I always take one before bed now.

marmite fx for poo soon...do you rate the close caboo? I keep adding and removing from my online JL basket as can't decide! I have a baby bjorn carrier but want something a but more snugly for the newborn weeks really.

Who's having a baby today then??

dobbythedoggy · 23/03/2016 11:21

magpie I have the close caboo and love it, it really is snuggly and stupidly comfortable. The nursery I used to work in had baby bjorn for the staff to use and I found them so uncomfortable, could just do short walks outside. I can wear my caboo for hours with no bother. They hold their value too if looked after (basically just kept clean, very easy to care for) and tend to sell for not much less than retail on ebay/on baby wearing groups unless the seller is looking to enable someone else to wear. Quick to get on and once you've practiced a couple of times and know the basics easy to get baby in. Some people find the rings slippy, but the soloution to this tends to be washing and ironing and rethreading the sling. The caboo instructions aren't the best for this, but there are some fantastic youtube videos that show you how to thread rings so they don't slip, just search for how to thread a ring sling. The only thing to be awear of this time of year is baby will need less layers as the sling gets warm really quickly compared to the bjorn due to your body heat and the layers of fabric. When I took Eddy to dd's music group on Monday he literally just needed a sleepsuit, no vest to be warm enough, where as a friend's little girl in bjorn was in a padded pram suit. I tend to need a layer less than I normally would as it's like wearing a hot water bottle and if I know I'm going to be inside I dress him for that and tuck a little blanket in the top of the sling while we're outside.

Congratulations on the new babies and big hugs to all those over due.

indom amazing that you've got to due date working, that's some commitment to your students, so glad they seem to appriciate it. Is is one more day you've got left now if baby doesn't decide to make an appearance?

maybe I think the only reason to feed so reguarly is to get rid of jaundice. As long as they are clear for that I was told a 5 or 6 hour stint of sleep won't do any harm.

Trinpy · 23/03/2016 11:21

Congratulations haley! You've done amazingly well to manage with no pain relief - I wish I was that brave!

Hoping that labour will start soon for those of you still waiting. These last few days are definitely the worst bit.

Glad you're getting the tongue tie snipped today vroc. Hope this is the start of easier feeding for you.

How's everyone else getting on with feeding? William has been feeding constantly for the past 24hrs so I'm getting a bit sore. He's finally crashed out now though. I really wasn't expecting him to feed this much on day 1. I can't remember what's normal!

Ohwoolballs · 23/03/2016 11:57

Congrats Hayley! chuffed to hear the water birth went to fantastically. (Makes me look forward to mine)

trijo sending vibes and rain dances your way, on the understanding you return the favour 😉

My fanny daggers have turned into cunt kicks. Back ache all morning again but they've gone away.
Huff and puff, off to hang washing up.

Timetogrowup2016 · 23/03/2016 12:29

Congrats to all the new babies.

Calais is a nightmare today. Non stop crying since 8:30. Fed, burped, changed, warm clean clothes. Still just crying and I need to sterilise bottles but I have no sling and I don't want to let her cry :(.
She's five weeks today. Swaddling normally settles her but I've tried all sorts of ways n the bouncy chair n pushing the pram and nothing :(

Timetogrowup2016 · 23/03/2016 12:48

Maybe - when my dd allows me to unswaddle her arms she sleeps with them in front of her face. She had like that in most scans to.
I was worried at first but I wouldn't worry x

magpiedreams · 23/03/2016 14:30

Thanks v much dobby for such helpful info! Caboo now on order! just need a baby to put in it now

BumpPower · 23/03/2016 15:51

Arg!! Angry just when I thoughtful preggo rage could go no higher, I've arrived for my last chance sweep 41+3 (also the booking in for my induction) and the GP surgery is shut!!!!!!!!! Midwife forgot to tell me she is working out of the hospital today and wrote gp surgery in my notes!! Obv I walked to be optimistic so poor DP has had to run home to get the car to pick me up. What was it about avoid adrenaline to let yourself go into labour????
I should think I was her last appointment of the day too - have rung and asked her to wait... If not someone in that hospital is jangling my cervix I don't care!!

Thanks feel a bit better for that rant!

IndomitabIe · 23/03/2016 16:23

Ugh, I just got back from school. I'm so tired. I don't understand it though, I felt fine yesterday. Must be psychological.

Yep, one more day, dobby. But I'm seriously considering bailing out. I cleared my desk at the end of today.

Zzz....

MyNameIsSuz · 23/03/2016 16:29

Oh bump how ridiculous! Is the hospital far? She certainly should wait for you.

We've just had our five day check, my little piglet has only lost about 5% of her birth weight so I am encouraged, the crazy all night feeds are not for nothing. I need to be more disciplined about making sure she's had a really decent feed each time, waking her up when she drops off and putting her back on until she's definitely finished. It's just hard because I'm so sore, and I'm nervous of damaging them further. Hope everyone else's feeding issues are improving.
