Wow so many auto corrects and typos in my post sorry!

Meant to say hope Oliver is better soon Doc

A TMI question I meant to ask MW.. About poo, mine not hers, not exactly moving.. Has anyone been given anything for it?

marmiteandcheeseplease · 21/03/2016 19:26

vroc I've still not gone 4 days post birth. Started taking lactulose yesterday which apparently takes 2-3 days to work and is safe if bf. With DD1 it was about 6 days before I went to the loo Confused

Still no poo for E I've tried bicycling her legs to get things moving and I had a half hearted attempt to massage her tummy but couldn't do much with her cord in the way. Really hoping she has one before our appointment tomorrow Confused

Cliteral tear, bump? Omg Shock

MrsBenWyatt · 21/03/2016 20:11

vroc I used a glycerine suppository on day four after my section. It was very effective Blush

Purpleprickles · 21/03/2016 20:21

Charley another one with a second degree tear here that is still healing. I have days of feeling ok and days of being sore. I also can feel a stitch still which I'm sure by day 11 should have dissolved. I'll have to ask my midwife to check when she comes again. I also think I have piles again Blush sorry but it just all feels so uncomfortable when I go. This childbirth business is so glam!

Ffaux you sound like you are doing amazingly well with the feeding, Marmite too. E has only had one poo today, I know it's probably because she is formula fed but she was really agitated earlier and clearly had a tummy ache. Makes me Sad
*
Trin* whoop whoop- wishing you lots of strong contractions and a speeding birth.

Purpleprickles · 21/03/2016 20:34

Why is it when you get in the bath for the first time since giving birth (I have showered everyday) your normally settled newborn decides to scream down the house so you feel compelled to get out and go down to try and help settle her? Hmm

IndomitabIe · 21/03/2016 22:16

So I've had 6 hours of BHs, every 6ish minutes. Disappointingly doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Am I joining the long early-labour gang?

And Purple, I remember exactly that situation with DS! I also remember taking him into the bathroom in his carry cot!

Mondinomum2 · 21/03/2016 22:49

Sorry - very limited time. I just wanted to say - my first had tongue tie too and I was in exactly your situation. I remember it well. Fantastic effort battling on with the feeding and pumping. It sucks!!! We got the little op done and I just wanted to reassure you that it really will get better. Even if you end up with bottle top ups as we did, still produced a lovely and healthy boy who is 4 now :-) Sleep took a long time to accomplish but you will survive I promise. You are an amazing mum for not giving up completely and reaching for formula. X

MyNameIsSuz · 22/03/2016 04:00

Urgh, night 3 and I've had 45 minutes sleep since midnight Sad. Anyone else seem to have a crazy night feeder? Tell me it calms down!!! My milk has come in too which annoyingly doesn't seem to have made any difference to the amount of feeding, but is making me feel really weird and gave me some crazy dreams (for those 45 minutes...)

marmiteandcheeseplease · 22/03/2016 07:23

Your night sounds like mine two days ago suz. It has calmed down to every two hours now Confused our biggest problem with El is she won't settle anywhere but on me or DP (not even next to me in bed) so nights are tiring as we're having to take it in turns holding her.

After making loads of improvement with latch yesterday it all went to pot during the night and my left boob is a complete horror show and was streaming blood this morning Sad absolutely horrific! Supposed to feed off that side next but I'm leaving it for as long as possible as I'm dreading the pain. Really need to book an appt with the bf clinic - I've had a look myseld and it doesn't look like tongue tie, but I've heard posterior tongue tied are harder to spot so might get it checked out to be on the safe side and see where I'm going wrong with my latch too.

sherazade · 22/03/2016 07:35

marmite a posterior tongue tie is almost impossible to check yourself, please get it checked by someone who specialises in tongue tie not your midwife or health visitor. Was told Yusef didn't have one by the midwives and I couldn't see it myself but it turned out he had a posterior one which makes bfeeding difficulties like latching and sore nipples just as hard as an obvious tongue tie.

magpiedreams · 22/03/2016 08:33

Ugh, sorry to hear about all the bad nights and boob-mad-babies. Hope you ladies can get some serious napping in today.

Hope trin has a baby by now... Thinking of you.

wool sorry, I missed you off the waiting game list, so it's wool indom tri bump hayley magpie still in contention for the Last Baby of March Thread award. I'm sure there are others I've missed though too Confused.

I'm also trying to avoid a baby on MILs birthday which is this Friday. Will be keeping my legs firmly crossed that day.

Tomorrow is a full moon, and I think more people go into labour at a full moon so that's got to be worth clinging on to?!

Indom did anything come of those regular tightenings...? Hope so.

MrsElls · 22/03/2016 09:04

Suz and Marmite hope things get better for you soon. Cassidy also didn't want to be put down the first couple of nights, we found swaddling her and putting her in to her cot bed rather than a Moses basket worked wonders! My sympathies on bleeding nipples, I cried through loads of feeds with ds but fx Cassidy appears to have worked it out before we got to that stage.

So we are waiting for 6 more babies and we have 9 days left in March... Come on babies!

hayleycookie · 22/03/2016 09:09

Induction going ahead today! Not gotta be in until 1 though!! Was hoping to go in early so if anything takes a while to kick off I'd still have my energy. I guess it could have been worse, but I've no idea what to do until we have to leave! Currently eating crumpets with ds and dh......just waiting.

Hope Trin is making progress!

Hello everyone, I've found you. Sorry to be off radar so long, birth was long and traumatic and baby maybe (Sid) and I were in the hospital for nearly a week. We are home now and doing well

Congrats on all gorgeous new babies and baby dust to anyone fed up and overdue.

Sid is very content and happy at the moment - he also slept from just after 1am until 6.30 this morning which I should be extremely grateful for but I feel a bit worried about - should he sleep that much?! He was hungry the minute he woke up and feeds loads throughout the day (we both got the hang of breastfeeding really well).

Ohwoolballs · 22/03/2016 09:48

Full moon ey, magpie I'll cling to that! Though DP has put a quid on this Thursday on his works baby sweepstake (cheers love!) so to make things hopefully swing his way it's spicy Chinese takeaway on Wednesday eve. (Though last weeks only gave me heartburn.)

hayley good luck today! Spend this morning chilling out as best you can. I hope it all goes quick and (relatively) painless for you.

maybe fab about you and Sid (awesome name)

Massive 🌻🍰🍷and hugs for those having a really rough time. I hope it gets better and settled quickly for you all.

Righto, I'm off to tromp and stomp round IKEA with me mam today. (To return a changing mat that only half blows up 😐) will deffo be coming back with plants, tea lights and having had some Dime cake.

Woodenmouse · 22/03/2016 09:53

maybe baby dex sleeps for really long periods of time. I worried to begin with but he soon let's me know he's hungry when he wakes up! He's being weighed tomorrow so as long as he has gained weight I'll know he's ok

TriJo · 22/03/2016 10:11

Dime cake, you say Ohwoolballs? I like the way you think :)

2 days over, still no flickers of anything really, back was a bit uncomfortable in bed last night though.

ffauxlivia · 22/03/2016 11:30

indom hope that was a sign of progress

Good luck today hayley, you'll meet your baby soon!

marmite I've been there! Exactly the same for me - bloody nipples and both of us crying when she sicked up my blood :( You definitely need to see someone, I can't tell you how much it helped me, just to hear someone say that it wasn't my fault! I dread feedings but we're getting her snipped tomorrow so hope that helps

Like your LO Seren just does not settle at night, I've tried swaddling, arms in/out, no swaddle etc. It's exhausting and we're getting zero sleep

I keep repeating to myself to just get through these first 2 weeks as I know they are supposed to be the worst!

Hang in there everyone else waiting for their babies or having problems with their little ones ThanksBiscuitThanks

BumpPower · 22/03/2016 12:00

wool stomping and dime cake sounds a good idea!
indom hopefully that's just a slow rev up and you'll be in full blown labour any minute!
Nothing happening here. Got a bit of a preggo strop last night and DtD before marching up and down the stairs in my my nightie (bear in mind my house is stuffed full of grandparents) in the dark. Suffice to say I achieved very little - lost a little more plug and rather think I scared poor DP but that's about it! Now feeling guilty about feeling so pissed off as apparently that will reduce oxytocin and stop me going into labour.... Arg!!
Sending positive vibes to all the nipple cracked, sleep deprived mummies out there! It will get better Cake

Crispylicious · 22/03/2016 13:33

Due date day for me today! I feel on edge but no sign of anything, apart from loosing some more plug. My toddler still occasionally feeds and it gives me huge braxton hicks, but they stop when she stops feeding!

indom have your hicks turned into anything significant?!

I'm Grin at those of you wanting to avoid MILs birthdays - I had exactly the same thoughts and we are now beyond it, thankfully! Seems mean but I'm so pleased the baby won't share mil's birthday! He may end up sharing by brother's, but for some reason I don't mind that.

doc thanks for the reassurance re going overdue. Hope Oliver is starting to get better.

ff and others with feeding problems, you're all doing amazingly. I found it so hard last time but am so pleased I persevered. However, please please don't feel bad about swapping to formula is needs be. We used to give 1 bottle a day, which worked well for us.

Right I'm gong to try to have a nap. I just can't sleep at all at night any more.

Crispylicious · 22/03/2016 14:19

Also meant to say wohoo trin for actually being in labour! Your baby will be with you very soon, if not already Smile

hayleycookie · 22/03/2016 14:19

At the hospital! I'm 4cm already so they're gonna go straight to breaking my waters and hopefully contractions will start on their own without the drip! That would be awesome!! Just waiting to be transferred to a private room Grin

Trinpy · 22/03/2016 14:32

Hello everyone!

Turns out that the bath yesterday was a big mistake because, despite being very much in established labour, it stopped my contractions completely. We worked out that every time I rested it slowed/stopped labour, which explains why things kept stopping and starting over the last week. So I had to keep running up and down stairs in between every contraction until I got to transition to keep the momentum going! The second stage was only 6 mins though, so it wasn't all bad. I was really scared of tearing, but forced myself to stay upright, and let the baby come out slowly with the contractions rather than pushing him out; ended up with a 1st degree tear and no stitches, which I'm happy with. My waters went with a bang and my poor mum got a direct hit Blush, but otherwise it was all nice and uneventful (apart from having a baby obviously!)

Photo still to come.

magpiedreams · 22/03/2016 14:42

Congratulations trinpy. GrinShock at your mum getting fired with your waters!

That's great news hayley! Hopefully another baby before the day is out.

IndomitabIe · 22/03/2016 15:36

Marmite that sounds so sore. Hope you have been able to get some help/advice.

Sorry magpie, ffaux & crispy, the BHs never really went anywhere and I ended up sleeping wonderfully! So I went to work! Had to do some hasty planning as I hadn't even looked yesterday after all that contracting! 4 lessons and an early finish for mw appt so not bad at all. Oh, and I've had the great situation of kids going "why are you here if you're due tomorrow?!" And replying "because of YOU, it's all for YOU!" Grin

Hope the induction is going smoothly hayley!

Good to see you back and doing well, maybe. I think you've had your share of baby-trials already, you're due for a nice easy sleeper from now on!

Trinpy! What a fantastic story! Sorry to hear it had to be quite so active though! Very impressed with you minimising he tearing.

Just been in to boots on the way home and checked out their baby section (it's a tiny shop). Made a mental note that they have the packs of ready to feed first milk if we need it! (Given the breastfeeding trauma that's happening with everyone).

Saw the midwife this afternoon too. She was palpating and said "still up under your ribs then?", "yeah", I said pretty dejectedly. Then she got down the other end "ooh, he is engaged!". So I have a massive baby (bump still on 95th centile) who has dropped into my pelvis (finally) but who has also taken the opportunity to stretch out! (Either that or I now have separated abs of steel after all this coughing!).

My tutor group gave me a card and some chocs this morning too. They've been a hard group so it was a surprise. Made me well up before assembly!
