The one thing that amused me about the 3 jabs was that W, now more aware of what's going on, glared at the nurse while crying instead of at me . I could imagine him thinking: 'the evil witch! Yes, her! The one with the needles!'

mummypossum sounds really tough. i've seen some little ones in the boots and it looked so hard for the parents when the babies are struggling. no wonder you're having a bum day.
i stupidly went clothes shopping with lo today-what a joke. she lasted for 10 minutes which was very impressive. then not such a happy baby. can't really see how good/bad something looks with a screaming baby on the hip, meanwhile assistants lying through teeth saying 'that looks really good' also, was terrified lo was going to be sick on beautiful jumper was trying. silly silly silly me. will never do that again.
back into prepreg. underwear although it may be doing damage. i just couldn't face another day in maternity bra and huge knickers. now have 2 boobs not uniboob.

Gingeme · 06/02/2007 22:58

Come on ladies lets pull ourselves together now. Soon be summer and we can have meet ups in the park and watch our little ones in there cute shorts and pink summer dresses crawlng around in the fresh green grass. There is that any better?I Come on this morning and feel realy washed out and shitty! ds3 puked for England after his nap this afternoon and sat in it lo had 3 up the back poohs today but ateast I managed to get my hair cut at long last.
Yes thanks Rumple theyre doing just fine . The younger one went sea fishing on Saturday and caught 3 fish which they had for dinner that evening. They asked first if it was ok to keep the fish. Theyre doing very well in school and have made loads of friends. Was talking to the older one on the phone last night ad hes started saying'aye'. Going to see them on the 1st of April for their Easter hols. Cant wait

Rumpel · 07/02/2007 09:49

Morn All,

Prettycandles - forgot to say nearly all the members of the 50 a day club have absconded too! Only 1 reply in the last few days. I used to play badminton and loved it too.

Mummypossum - my sympathies to you. It is truly horrid to see your LO upset or in pain, must be soo hard at times for you but you are right to be strong as he'll soon forget and will thank you for it in the long run. School can be hard enough without added complications so you are doing great. You need to remind yourself that it is normal for him too, he doesn't know any different yet.xx

I am leaving Lo with a friend for a couple of hours this afternoon I've never left her with anyone apart from Daddy yet so am wondering how she will be. I have an appointment with an osteopath as my neck/shoulders are so sore. I went for a massage every week for about 6 weeks after having A but my neck/back feels out of alignment, keeps grating and my TMJ keeps clicking too. Thought I would give it a try as it is something I've not had before.

Hope you all have a good day!

Taffy - what fitness dvds sis you get? the two that im using at the moment (i alternate the dvd daily between the two) are pump it up, burn it loose it and pump it up, the ultimate dance workout. both by minestry of sound and both are bloddy difficult, lol.

i did 50 minutes last night so im well chuffed and i have about a stone and 2lbs to loose now.

im seriously not looking forward to friday...jab day and its only the 2nd lot

Gemmitygem · 07/02/2007 13:50

hi all,

wuzzle: I swear by the cindy crawford next challenge workout. it's about 10 years old, but it is unsurprisingly un-cheesy and gives you a complete workout and you really feel better after doing it!

Well I went back to work on Monday, so it's day four tomorrow. Very annoyingly DH had to go to Turkmenistan on Monday morning for 2 bloody weeks, which is not great timing! Keep locking myself in my office to express the milk, and someone or other always wants to come in at just that moment! Also getting quite blithe about rinsing out the breast pump in front of male colleagues (one just had a baby so he doesn't mind ).

re the expressing, taffy.,, unfortunately I think the solution is just to eat and rest as much as possible.. I'm having to get the two feeds out every day and not easy, but I've found it helps to change the position on the breast, and also to basically eat loads of protein..

The nanny is very nice and Darius seems fond of her, and she cooks big pans of borscht which is great cos I'm too knackered to cook.. But feel so guilty and awful about leaving him, and might ask for part time but not sure yet.

Got a doctor to come round to give Darius his last set of jabs which we brought over from Europe in a cold container. It was a bit of a classic Kazakhstan scenario, she didn't have anything to prepare his skin and asked if we had some vodka! and used that with a cotton wool bud! The vodka was in the freezer so I actually think it did numb his poor little leg so he didn't feel it as much.. anyway thank God that's over.

anyway that's the drama over here in Central Asia. I hear you've been getting some of our weather

Swizzler · 07/02/2007 15:01

Looks like we finally have a tooth! A sharp edge on the top of his gum came through this morning and he seems a bit more chilled now. We had another bad night, but he did go for one (!) 3-hr stint, so I'm hoping things will gradually improve (I think I've been saying that for some time now )

Reading other posts, I'm struck by how easy it is to beat ourselves up other this motherhood lark - I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong or W would be sleeping like most of the other babies I know. Think we should remember that we're all the best mums for our babies and we're actually doing a bloody good job.

Mummypossum: surely it's a good sign that your DS is kicking about, even if he does kick his boot off? Shows he's developing good strong legs . Has the eczema shown any signs of returning?

Gingeme: sounds like your boys are enjoying themsleves. It's funny how they change their accents so easily to fit in . Easter's a lovely time to visit Scotland - when I was living on the east coast (admittedly quite a bit further down) the weather was usually lovely and sunny then. Wouldn't recommend swimming though

PrettyCandles · 07/02/2007 15:08

I think I'm going to have to rejoin the situps club pronto. I was on TV yesterday (but no-one saw me ) and was a bit shocked at how big I am. I'm sure I don't have love handles so large that they show through my clothes, and I could have sworn I have a neck. But then the camera does put the weight on you!

Rumpel · 07/02/2007 17:13

Hi All,

Pretty - I know what you mean. I used to think I was fatter than I was, now it's the reverse!!

Left LO with friend today for 2 whole hours and she was fine - in fact she is very happy and chatty today. The osteopath massaged my neck then wheeked me around a bit lots of cracking and popping but generally feeling better - am going back next week too.

Re working - I am so thankful that I don't need to go back to work would hate to now. Back at Uni next month but it's only part time. Wonder how Whiffy is getting on with her Masters?

Emzickle - I'm not feeling too great either at the moment. DS1's autism referal has hit me really hard and on top of a new baby and a house move some days can just seem so dark, especially in the morning before I get out of bed. One of the things I try to hang on to is that hormones do account for a lot and everything can get out of proportion so quickly and you can start questioning all aspects of your life. Some days it feels like I just can't remember who I used to be or what my life was like before. I always feel better if I talk about it so remember there are always lots of ears here ready to listen. Talking to your gp can't hurt my hv is being really supportive at the moment. Also give yourself some time, things do start to slowly settle again and you slowly realise that you are feeling more like yourself again. Take care of yourself.

youngmum21 · 08/02/2007 09:50

morning all-

Sorry your feeling so low nicand and mummypossum!!!

my dd seems so grumpy at the min i feel like its my fault, i dont know wot to do with her sometimes!! I think she maybe teething but cant feel anything!!!

Gingeme · 08/02/2007 10:19

Typical. ds3 nd I are in the font room with the electric heater on. lo is still fast aslep in his co snuggled in his grobag.Be carefulof the snow. akeCare xx

BENDYB · 08/02/2007 10:39

mornin all, havent read through properly yet, but sorry 2 hear some of ya aint feelin 2 good.

no snow at all ere!! i love snow! we've just got rain, but its bloody freezin outside though!

left kai again yesterday, with my sis while i went to get my hair done, feel better bout leaving him now still horrible though! but it was lovely & relaxin havin a few hours 2 myself.

anyway gotta go out & face the cold now! Need 2 go shopping, bye!

taffy101 · 08/02/2007 13:12

Snow here too. It has just stopped and I think there's enough to build a snowman with

Wuzz - i opened one of my dvds last night!!! it is yplan - pre + post pregnancy (sis bought it 4 xmas - most of it irrelevant now) did the post birth workout which was sooo gentle only 15 mins but most (structured)exercise i've had in a year. I used to have normal y plan vid which was good - only 25 min workout but seemed to work every muscle in my body! The other one is rosemary connolly (dh bought it) - bit scared to do that one as she's quite energetic and requires co-ordination skills which i sadly lack! Your dvds sound too hardcore for me - i am ultimately a slob. Good luck with jabs tomoz.

Sympathies to everyone feeling down in the dumps . I remember feeling isolated with dd and not knowing any local mums - the babyclinic was the highlight of my week - sad. But i did meet a local mum there and we are still good friends 3 years later and she having 2nd lo anyday now so both our children in same school year. I think if you try to get outdoors once a day at least you don't feel too much of a prisoner in your own home.

Rumpel · 08/02/2007 18:56

Eve' All,

No snow where I am in Scotland - makes a change for you lot to get it and not us. Well seeing it's made the national news!

Ginge - your boys probably got the day off school? I used to live in the Shetland Isles and the snow was unbelievable there - we were off quite a lot as the school was 13 miles away and the bus used to come off the road in the winter

Sorry you are feeling blue ladies - try agnus castus tincture if you think it is hormone related. I'm basically insular now so am quite happy just me and LO.

Managed to lose half stone now - YIPPEE only 2.5 to go. My poor LO has a rotten cold courtesy of her Daddy and was awake most of the night as she couldn't breathe properly, coughing and spluttering, despite me getting up about a zillion times to let her inahale olbas oil. Wee soul has been snottering all day and her eyes are streaming - had to give her some calpol and will resort to it tonight so that she gets a good sleep. So no walk today for us - had to put my new over the shoulder bolster holder bra on and ran on the spot and did jumping jacks - which put a bit of a strain on my pelvic floors!! Thought my inny bits were okay until I did that!!

c u over on the sw thread gingeme!

Swizzler · 10/02/2007 17:10

Mummypossum: can you keep a buggy at the bottom of th stairs? We're only in a 1st floor flat, but still kepp the pushchair in the downstairs hall. Or could you get a lightweight one down the stairs? not being able to get out must be so frustrating. Can you call on any friends with carseats?

Had a few v bad nights so no time to post - last night a bit better tho. Tried W on a little baby rice - he chomped it down but sicked most of it up later so will leave it for a while. I like the look of bby led weaning so might give that a try.

Emzickle: how are you getting on?

Think it's teething at this end too. W is back to waking every 2 hrs, but we had a couple of nughts of hourly waking, plus taking a while to settle... poor mite hasn't been happy.

We had a nice afternoon - met DH's grandma and aunt for lunch.

W rubbing his eyes so will try anf gt him to nap...
