Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

Congratulations Paper, Battleship and Pug. Loads and loads of gorgeous babies!

maybebabybee · 24/02/2016 08:07

pug just read your update on the other thread, congratulations on your lovely baby but so sorry to hear you had such a shitty birth experience, Flowers for you and your family.

maybebabybee · 24/02/2016 08:09

Had 3 random painful contractions (pretty sure they were contractions) at about 4am. Thought oooooh, this is it! Nope, they stopped. I'm totally sure I'm going to be over analysing anything even though there's a very real possibility I'll be overdue...

TheMshipIsBack · 24/02/2016 08:12

Congratulations paper and pug! Beautiful babies both of you Smile

DS didn't want to go to preschool this morning and pretended to go back to sleep standing up a corner. We played along ( being insufferable parents of only one child and actually having time to indulge a bit of crap in the mornings - let's see how long that lasts with two!) and he started grinning, thinking it was working, faking snoring and all, but he knew the jig was up when he burst out giggling at his own cleverness. Kids are hilarious.

dobbythedoggy · 24/02/2016 08:24

Congratulations paper, a little beauty you've got yourself there.

Glad you slept well indom. I'll second the idea that your ds might be getting it all out of the way now. I was a bit of a terror for my mum and dad for the first five or six years, good as gold for most other people but none sleeping, high matienance for them. But come teen years was very easy expect for the odd bout of pms related grumppiness in the later years. My sister was really easy as a youngster but got to 8 or 9 and gave them the shock of their lives; everything was a battle! She's only just come out the other side of everything being their fault in the last couple of years at 23. Some of the first toddlers I looked after when I was training are now getting to gcse age and the ones who were more chalenging at the time do seem to be a bit more chilled out, maybe they got the boudary pushing out of their system earlier on.

Well I was in crap sleep club last night, I despise 4 am! Fell asleep again half an hour before dd decided to get up for the day. A nap will be needed today; just need to work out where I'm going to fit it in between the all important plans I have a walking and bouncing on the ball. Have been having random flurries of mild contractions on and off, 39 weeks today and really ready for bump to arrive. As of 4.25 this afternoon this will be the most pregnant I've been.

Crispylicious · 24/02/2016 08:57

Aww paper she's just gorgeous! Congrats! So pleased for you. Am also loving the babygro.

MrsBenWyatt · 24/02/2016 09:04

Congratulations paper - beautiful baby and a beautiful name!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 24/02/2016 09:11

Congrats paper, love the name! Martha is my absolute favourite girls name and Iris was also on my list but DP vetoed them both!

Haven't had a chance to read the other thread yet but congrats pug!

Actually managed to sleep in until 6.30 this morning when DD woke up. Probably because I didn't get to sleep till gone half 11 as me and DP were up later than usual as we lost track of time and suddenly realised we needed to go to bed!

BumpPower · 24/02/2016 09:14

Congratulations paper she is beautiful! Flowers

marmiteandcheeseplease · 24/02/2016 09:19

Just read the other thread and pug if you're lurking here hope you're recovering ok. Two of the women in my antenatal yoga class have developed the same thing as you, my yoga teacher said in all her years as an antenatal yoga teacher and doula she'd never known a case and then had two in quick succession. Both cases were caught early though which doesnt sound the case with you - hopefully an investigation will show up what went wrong Flowers

sherazade · 24/02/2016 11:27

Congrats thepug , sorry to hear about your experience and hope you recover soon .

I'm booked for a consultant appointment and a sweep ( usually see the registrars ) on the day of the strikes does anyone know if I'll be affected ...

MrsElls · 24/02/2016 11:59

Congrats Paper and Pug two beautiful babies there. Sorry you had such an awful time though pug, hopefully you are all doing well now.

Great style choice on the giraffe baby grow Paper, I've got the same one packed in my hospital bag!

Me624 · 24/02/2016 12:10

Morning all. I slept badly last night but after DH got up and left for work at 6.30 I managed to go back to sleep until 9am, bliss!

It's a gorgeous day here so I've just been for a walk round the park near my house in the sunshine. Planning to go for another with DH later if it stays nice. Lots of walking should hopefully help get this baby turned round and ready to roll!

MyNameIsSuz · 24/02/2016 13:50

Congratulations paper and pug!

It's a lovely day here too, I'm in high spirits! I've shampooed my carpets, walked into town, and I'm under a blanket with a doughnut watching call the midwife - I'm feeling pretty happy! Haven't done nearly all of the jobs I want to do this week but have at least made a wee dent in it. Have the doctor's tomorrow for my 38 week check and I'm looking forward to finding out if my iron has come up enough to stop worrying about it all the time and feeling guilty every time I have a milkshake instead of juice.

38 weeks tomorrow and I want the baby to hold out for another week I think, I'll be ready then!

Trinpy · 24/02/2016 14:02

Congratulations pug and paper - what gorgeous babies you both have (I've also got the giraffe baby gro and completely regret getting it in newborn size because its super cute! I'll just have to find a way to cram my enourmous baby into it...). I'd been wondering why we hadn't heard from you yet pug, but I'd hoped it was just that you were too busy enjoying your newborn to update straightaway. I'm so sorry to hear about everything you went through, it must have been terrifying for all of you Flowers. I hope you're starting to recover a little from it all now you're home.

Good idea to go for loits of walks me, hope it works!

sherazade bad luck on clashing with the doctors' strike - is there anyone at the hospital you could ask about whether it might affect you?

Ooh dobby mild contractions sound promising. Another baby on its way soon, I hope!

TheMShip that's so cute, I love it when kids think they've outsmarted everyone when they very obviously haven't!

maybe a few contractions definitely sound promising. I hope things get going properly for you soon.

I'm making the most of the sunshine today and making a start on washing all the baby clothes. So at least if baby Trin does put in an appearance next week (pleeeeeease?) then I'm prepared for him.

ffauxlivia · 24/02/2016 14:21

OOh I missed two beautiful babies! Congrats paper (what a gorgeous name!) and pug! Pug I'm sorry you had such a traumatic experience, I can't imagine how scary that was for you and your DH. Hope you're recovering well Flowers would be lovely to hear more updates from you when you're feeling up to it

MyNameIsSuz · 24/02/2016 14:34

trinpy, where was it from? I need it in my life!

sherazade · 24/02/2016 14:56

Thanks trinpy I did call and it seems that thankfully maternity appointments are not affected
I've seen that baby grow is it from next? I've been stalking baby grows for nine months want it now but my baby has a ridiculous number of baby grows in every possible size Grin

Mondinomum2 · 24/02/2016 15:03

Oops! Found you all :-) Congrats new babies!

vroc81 · 24/02/2016 16:03

MynameisSuz it was from Next (or at least it looks very like the one I got from Next I got it a couple of size larger so haven't looked at that stuff for a while) - I got it in the sale so you might be out of luck.

The pug Sorry to hear what sounds like a horrible experience and hope you are recovering well now. Congratulations on your beautiful baby!

Trinpy · 24/02/2016 16:39

Yeah the giraffe one is from next (I have the matching hats too), I think they were last season though so they might not have them in stock anymore. They were the first thing I bought after the 12 week scan. I (stupidly) got them in first size so I bet they won't fit now. Is it wrong to hope that my baby comes early just so he'll be small enough to squeeze into all the tiny newborn clothes I have for him?

MyNameIsSuz · 24/02/2016 16:51

Ahh that's a shame! Am off shopping on Friday for a few more unisex bits, just in case Smile

sherazade · 24/02/2016 17:55

trinpy the sizes are quite frustrating to been honest. Newborn used to be up to 9/10 pounds in next and most shops and now they have this annoying first size and then 0-1 . First size looks tiny, 0-1 big. Am not expecting a whopper but am worried the first size baby grows won't fit even a moderately sized baby as they go up to 7.5 pounds only.

Paperblank · 24/02/2016 18:40

Sleep suit is from next. The newborn size drowns Martha but she'll grow into it!

Once we're back home I'll fill you in on her "dramatic" entrance.

Xx

IndomitabIe · 24/02/2016 18:57

Evening all, I am posting & reading from DS's room again this evening. So far he's been much more cooperative, thankfully, but he needs to earn some trust back/develop some good habits before he's off the hook! (And I've brought myself a tea this time too! BrewGrin)

Had 36 week mw appt this afternoon (had to take DS with me, what a nuisance!) all good in the 'hood. Scan confirmed head down (and that he's crammed right in there - legs & arms all folded up like little fat sausages!). Next one is 38 weeks.

Your DS sounds cute, TheM! I'm on a mission to get us all to bed early tonight so we can get up earlier and have less rush/drama in the morning.

I hope you're right, dobby! I am told that I was just like him when I was young (by my parents who laugh at my parenting strife - yeah thanks guys!), and I think I was a fairly good teenager!

Wow, Suz, that is an impressively energetic day! Glad you're feeling good & positive!

(Oh no, I've finished my tea but DS is nowhere near asleep yet)

Oh no, Paper, not another dramatic entrance?! (Of course, I can't wait to hear about it!)

Can the next birth be boringly straighforward please?!

Right, still here with DS (it's not even 7pm yet, I suppose) so I'm off to peruse Next baby clothes! Grin
