Brilliant cake! Love it.
Just a shame we can't see the impressive insides or eat it I'm making cottage pies today, far less pretty...and I now want some cake!

A day of being off it/sleepy is OK Liberty, I wouldn't worry unless it goes on for longer.

Sounds horrific haq, but almost in a gross-out comedy way, American Pie style! Hope everyone has recovered.

That's a sod about the meds Xing, but I guess it's just like when it's not your turn to see to DC in the night, but you still stir when you hear them over the monitor...

LibertyBelles · 12/04/2016 15:05

Thanks chinchilla

cudbywestrangers · 12/04/2016 21:35

Amazing cake!!!!

Hope the little ones have got over their jabs now...

I thought I'd achieved the holy grail of both kids bathed and asleep in bed just after 7 this evening. Was very pleased with myself especially as dh still at work. It lasted about 10 minutes and babycud has yet to go back to sleep...

clumsypots · 12/04/2016 23:29

Thanks everyone! She came out of school grinning like a Cheshire Cat as she got given a headteahchers award for it. The class are looking forward to eating it on Thursday (I hope it hasn't gone stale) definitely worth the hassle Grin

haquoi123 · 13/04/2016 08:51

Beautiful cake clumsy!! You must be very proud :D

Oh cud, any joy?

Bubs slept for two 4 hour stints. The second time my breast was so engorged I just picked him up and plonked him on, awake or no. Then found myself awake at 7am so have sorted and put away all the newborn and 0-3 clothes Sad a huge bundle has just gone up on freegle. And that's only half! I kept my favourites for the next baby Blush (goodness, can't believe I'm even thinking of it)

Troika · 13/04/2016 12:59

Great sleeping haquoi. Grin dd's normal pattern is bed 9/10, feed 12/ 1 and again around 4. She's done it enough for me to say it's her normal pattern but there's still plenty of nights that don't resemble that at all!

Just got a hospital grade pump as I'm paranoid about supply with dd after our rocky start and was starting to not be abe to express much (which I know doesn't mean anything about supply but it makes me feel better if I can express a decent amount and we like dp being able to give her a bottle in the evening). Bit uncomfortable with spending so much on it...

Troika · 13/04/2016 13:00

Xing I hope dds medical problems aren't too serious

Newmamatobe · 13/04/2016 13:26

Haha clumsy I spent most of the night sat on the stairs, and aimed for no talking/using the ssshhhh sound/no eye contact - well at 4am we were both giggling - well, me giggling and her smiling! I am SURE she is a clever little minx and knew she won that little battle...

Had jabs this morning and seeing her look at me to comfort her made me feel so damn lucky really, what an amazing job I have here - need to try and remember the joy within that!

Phew, aiming for a quick Hoover today and hopefully a shower later on that's it - I think I'm all over the show when getting everything ready to leave the house with her it exhausts me!

Can I ask if anyone is feeling tender above pelvic bone, my insides kind of throb there and sometimes sharp pain, back is still agony, lifting the car seat really doesn't help - feel so broken by it all!!!

Fingers crossed DD doesn't suffer too much from the jabs...

Have a lovely mummy day ladies xxx

clumsypots · 13/04/2016 14:08

DS slept from 12.30 to 7 last night so why am I so tired today?! haq
I thought my boobs we're going to explode!

newmamma hope your DD is feeling ok with the jabs.

haquoi123 · 13/04/2016 18:29

Ooh clumsy, nice! Eurgh, so paying for the lovely sleep with blocked milk duct, and for my efficiency this morn with exhaustion! Currently in bed with bubs (unhelpfully asleep) on the poorly boob and my pump for the other. Have managed only an hour's nap though :(

newmama I've got very sore muscles above my pubic bone and keep pulling my rib muscles! It's bloody hard work being a mum

troika, if it helps it's worth all the money! You can always sell it again after. I feel you though, I'm spending so much on bubs, necessary stuff though. Need to start selling some things!

I've actually just put my name down to donate milk to a milk bank. Whether they get back to me or not is another thing, but I'm quite excited about the possibility of doing it

Newmamatobe · 14/04/2016 00:27

Hugs to all for the struggles and pain - our gold medals are in the post haha x

DD has slept a bit more than usual but fine apart from that after jabs...

Tomorrow DD is out 11-5 with family and I am going to SLEEEP!!! Yipeeeeee

MaisieDotes · 14/04/2016 08:19

Hi all, just marking place as this dropped of my TIO.

Bit down at the moment so not up to posting much. Not sure if it's hormonal, I got my first post-birth period and started on Cerazette. Really bad pms last week Sad

clumsypots · 14/04/2016 08:57

haq that sounds really worthwhile good for you!

newmamma glad DD was ok after her jabs.

maisie thinking of you, hope you feel a bit better soon, we are always here for a vent/chat Flowers

Off to my first ever baby group this morning, i'm really nervous!

cudbywestrangers · 14/04/2016 11:04

Hurray for sleeping babies!
Hugs maisie sounds like you're having a tough time. You shouldn't get periods now you are on the cerazette but it can affect mood for some people... take care of yourself and i hope you have support around.

Hope the baby group was fun clumsy we're starting baby massage next week and i braved postnatal zumba last week so getting into the swing of things!

Glad jabs ok mama

Good work with looking up the milk bank haq that's a really good thing to do so hope they get in touch

Enjoy the new pump troika!

cudbywestrangers · 14/04/2016 11:10

Forgot to mention sleep! Babycud seems to have developed a habit of the briefest of naps just after ds1 has gone to bed and just as i'm feeling smug about the prospect of cooking dinner baby free he wakes and won't go back down until our bedtime... fortunately he does seem to go from then until around 6 so we're getting a good rest. Could do with working on the evenings though as he is usually an overtired grumpy mess!!!

clarabellski · 14/04/2016 11:18

Similar sleep story here cudby.

We are starting baby massage this afternoon. Looking forward to meeting other parents as don't have any local friends at similar stage.

We had our 6 week check this morning and I've got prescription for the implant which will get fitted next week, not that I need any contraception atm, thanks to the ripped fanny! Seeing gynecology tomorrow though, hopefully they can do something about it!

Maisie, hope you feel better soon. Are there any support groups you can drop into in your local area? We have a couple here. I think it is basically a physical version of what we have here on mumsnet, where you can talk and vent with people in a similar position.

Troika · 14/04/2016 11:57

Worth keeping an eye on the mood maisie. When I went on cerazette I felt awful, instant improvement as soon as I stopped taking it. Not helped by the fact I bled for the entire 6 months.

Good sleep from dd again last night, bed at 930, waking at 1.30 and 5. Fairly quick to settle in cot after 1.30 feed as well.

Troika · 14/04/2016 12:06

But no engorgement or even full feeling breasts Confused dd had a good feed when she woke though so there is milk there, not sure if my boobs are just super efficient or if supply is a bit low. Hopefully the new pump will help if it's the latter. With ds I had oversupply where he fed constantly so they were permanently full and I'd get engorged after a couple of hours.

NorthernChinchilla · 14/04/2016 16:44

Same here cud, past few evenings have not been fun, but I'm not going to complain given here excellent sleeping from 9ish onwards. She had been coming back to bed with me in the morning at 7.30 ish and sleeping for 2-4 hours...lovely though that is, I'm going to have to sacrifice it, as I reckon she'll sleep better in the early eve if I do.

cudbywestrangers · 14/04/2016 17:22

I definitely get less engorged this time than i did with ds1 troika but i think my supply is ok so wonder of boobs are just making milk more on demand than in advance? Several of my other 2nd time mum friends say they aren't getting as much when expressing this time round so maybe its a thing???

cudbywestrangers · 14/04/2016 17:32

Sounds lovely northern! I think we're on night mode in a similar way as baby usually goes back to sleep on nursery run and doesn't wake for a couple of hours... so maybe they are both doing about 12 hours of night starting from late evening. i'm not really complaining as getting enough sleep to feel human Smile

cudbywestrangers · 14/04/2016 17:33

And that time in the morning is good for getting stuff done while i have some energy!

clumsypots · 14/04/2016 17:38

I bottled on the baby class, got to the door and couldn't bring myself to go in...am going to try again next week though.

cud and troika I am the same no full feeling breasts (other than after mammoth sleeps of 6+ hours) and not a lot expressing wise now 2-3oz if I am lucky.

Troika · 14/04/2016 19:08

Cud I have heard that when you've breastfed before your body remembers so regulates supply etc. I breastfed dd1 for 5 months but topped up with formula and generally messed around with it so supply never regulated then fed ds for 21 months ish. So could be a thing...But I also heard that your milk comes in faster with subsequent children and that wasn't the case with poor dd2.

NorthernChinchilla · 14/04/2016 22:05

My milk definitely came in more quickly this time, and although I've had two brushes with mastitis I've not had the feeling- so aptly described by haq- of needing to stuff the baby onto a boob as badly or as frequently as last time.
Interesting...

Good luck for next week clumsy, am sure you will make it. And for you tomorrow with the gynae appointment clara, hope they at least get the ball rolling.

((Hug)) Maisie
