That's part of the reason I want to give DD the men b jab - because DS has had it. And the HV said it was a good idea when I asked her opinion. Someone in DH's (extended) family lost their child because of it. They appear to have stocks here.

HungryHorace · 27/01/2016 06:42

I'm just not sure we can afford the £750 to get them both done...I do want it doing though. DS should've had it, but they moved the date back because they hadn't negotiated the price at the point it was meant to be introduced into the jabs given to them. If it was just DD it'd be a no brainer.

BibbidiBobbidiBoo1 · 30/01/2016 19:57

Hello - just stopping in quickly with name change! Pinky days are done! Cinderella has taken over here so seems fitting!!

SunnyL · 01/02/2016 15:52

Gawd if i was into the whole name changing thing I think I'd have to be Anna, Elsa or Buzz Lightyear using Bibbi's logic.

We went swimming on Sunday and the little girl went seriously green with envy when she saw another little girl wearing a Frozen swimsuit. God help us if she sees one in a shop. Meltdown WILL occur.

BibbidiBobbidiBoo1 · 01/02/2016 18:56

I could be the stick man today - although no sticking in head songs from there!

Dd has a perforated ear drum. Poor thing had a rough night and woke up saying her ear hurt. About two this afternoon it popped, gunk coming out and inconsolable. Lucky GP is great and has had a look, prescribed antibiotics and said to keep an eye on her.
Hopefully now it's popped it's less pressure for her.
I just now have to do the battle of getting her to take medicine. She hates it. Even calpol is a battle. And no longer does giving some to which ever you is favourite work as an incentive.

I'm hoping this is the last of gunk, from anywhere, done and dusted after this.

SunnyL · 02/02/2016 06:51

Oh no that sounds horrible. Poor wee thing.

Lots of cuddles to mini Bibbidi

Biscuitswithtea · 02/02/2016 10:47

That sounds grim Bibbidi. Poor scone :(

Had our scan this morning. All looks well and baby was awake and fidgety. Due date has been moved forward to 8th August.

I feel so relieved & relaxed for the first time in ages! Off to hunt down maternity trousers for work now aka holy grail

OP posts:
BibbidiBobbidiBoo1 · 02/02/2016 12:03

Biscuits that's great news! And hope the search for trousers goes well!!

It is pretty grim, although today she is a bit bouncier which is nice to see, just every so often she feels the pain or gets tired. Poor mite. I may refer to her a gunk-a-girl from now on.

Any one else been giving any thoughts to birthdays yet? Trying to be organised this year but am struggling on what to do for her.

cuphat · 02/02/2016 12:37

I'd have to be Sarah. Speaking of which: can anyone please tell me which episode of Sarah and Duck has Sarah cleaning donkey's house in it? DD has been asking for weeks, we haven't got a clue and it's driving us mad.

Oh no bibbidi, that sounds horrible.

Great news biscuits.

We'll be having a joint family party between DD and DS's birthdays, which are exactly a week apart! We'll be away at center (can't get used to that!) parcs for DS's birthday and then we're going to Peppa Pig world just after DD's birthday (to avoid half-term!). I think the time has come to get her a kitchen as she's currently baking underneath the jumperoo.

Biscuitswithtea · 02/02/2016 13:27

I don't know Cup, sorry. We have 50 episodes of it on the recorder which we cycle through fairly regularly. But ds accepts whichever episode we put on so we never pay attention to episode numbers.

DS got a wooden toy kitchen at Christmas. It came from Asda, cost 40 quid and is brilliant. Stock seems to come and go a lot but if you can lay your hands on it then you'd be laughing...

cuphat · 02/02/2016 14:29

Thanks. That's not fair. DD gets obsessed with particular episodes of everything she watches (episodes change every few weeks). It's hard work working out which ones they are! We have DVDs - it's not on those apparently. She must have seen it on an episode on the planner however as it's probably 10 seconds worth it isn't mentioned in the descriptions. Thank you to whoever recommended it though - it's a big hit. They need to sell a donkey teddy though.

Thanks very much - I'll have a look at that. DD got the wooden house from Asda for Christmas and it's great (was my favourite and so cheap! Although the extras add up!). Was the same with that, it went in and out of stock. I actually bought it before her birthday and we gave it for Christmas!

BeanCalledPickle · 02/02/2016 19:34

I have just booked a hall for a joint party in between their birthdays. This has cost me sixty quid. The 'entertainer' 150 quid. She is brilliant to be fair, she did a session at another party and it was amazing. Then food and a cake. So maybe 250-300 quid?! Dear lord. The done thing is to invite the nursery class- ten- plus a couple of extras. Rae do you want to come? 22nd may:)

HungryHorace · 02/02/2016 21:02

I'm going for joint parties from now on too, Bean. Until I can't get away with it any more. Though this year DD's preschool year haven't had parties, so no etiquette to comply with. Next year I imagine that'll change!

I'll ask DH if he knows the Sarah & Duck episode. He may do!

Bibbidi, I hope your DD is better soon. Sounds nasty.

Biscuits, woooo for the scan news. Will you find out the flavour next time?

HungryHorace · 02/02/2016 21:05

Oh, bike for this birthday. She loves the kitchen she got for her last birthday. As does DS!

She's been funny today, asking me and DH what our names are. It's very cute!

Sunbeam18 · 02/02/2016 21:28

We get requests for specific episodes here too, though mostly Peppa ones. Cuckoo clock is a big favourite; although often DS can't decide until he sees it so we have to flick through them on Milkshake catch up while he says 'No, not that one' , 'Not that one', 'No, mummy', etc etc!

HungryHorace · 02/02/2016 21:40

DH thinks it's 'Decorating Donkey', cup.

DD does the veto more than actively choosing an episode too, Sunbeam.

Biscuitswithtea · 02/02/2016 21:41

Waaaah! You're planning birthdays already?? Haven't a scooby what we will do. There will be cake. There won't be a party. The general consensus of mums with older children around here is that 4 is when the parties start. And even then a gym hall hire with a bouncy castle and some sandwiches is entirely sufficient. Will consider presents nearer the time. Maybe a swing for the garden if we clear some of the wilderness...

Hungry, I don't think we will find out this time. We didn't last time either. I usually like to know stuff in advance but with this it doesn't seem to matter too much. I know there's always the possibility of them getting it wrong anyway at the 20w scan. I would hate to tell ds he was getting a baby brother only for that to be a baby sister (or vice versa)!

OP posts:
Sunbeam18 · 02/02/2016 22:13

The birthdays are 4 months away! Too early to think of!

cuphat · 02/02/2016 22:45

That sounds very promising - thank you so much for asking, Hungry, and please thank your DH! I don't think that's on one of her DVDs so I bet it's one we downloaded and then deleted - will download it again tonight and she'll be thrilled tomorrow! Grin

She is happy to watch whatever as long as she's seen her favourite of the moment first. Previous favourites have been the pipes and sad donkey episodes (the latter led to a donkey obsession; we had to take her to the local farm and make excuses as to why she couldn't feed them carrots). Picnic and Night Animals are Peppa favourites at the moment.

DD randomly comes out with our names every now and again. It feels very odd to hear them. She's learnt all of our full names but leaves a funny split second pause between each one.

We have to plan in advance with my family living away. I've already been told they might have trouble coming when we're planning it for!

Sunbeam18 · 02/02/2016 22:49

I love how they are all learning we have two names, not just 'mummy'. DS giggles when he says my name and it's so cute!

HungryHorace · 03/02/2016 06:41

We are rarely mummy and daddy. DD prefers to use mum and dad and has done for ages!

We've finally managed to get please and thank you most of the time without reminder. She also says sorry, even if she does something which doesn't need an apology (we tell her she doesn't need to be sorry when she does this!). Though apologising to her little brother doesn't seem to be the done thing! She does thank him and congratulate him if she thinks he's done well though. That's something! :-)

BeanCalledPickle · 03/02/2016 07:15

It's really important they know your name. If they got lost in a supermarket they won't put out a call for pollys mummy as anyone could rock up. Instead they ask what's mummy's name and put out a call for sarah. We've been practising. She will often stand at the top of the stairs and yell sean!!

BeanCalledPickle · 03/02/2016 21:16

Not long now sunny:) when do you finish work?

HungryHorace · 03/02/2016 21:55

Has Aloha had baby 3 yet? Wasn't she due in Jan?

Bet you can't wait to finish, Sunny!

BeanCalledPickle · 03/02/2016 22:00

She has, Josiah I think his name is!
