Yes please Sunny - especially if it's reasonably local.

I had physio last time, though the referral to an age. She was great though and gave me her tel number and said if it got any worse then call her and she would organise crutches. Thankfully it didn't. This time I have rapid access physio through work so if I continue to ache over the next week or two then as soon as I have had a hopefully successful scan then I'll be organising a physio appt at work.

Will send details over email.

I think I was told at my booking in appointment we can self refer to physio in Midlothian. I've certainly got a direct number in my blue notes.

I've had a dodgy hip because I've got a sore heel - think I've been over compensating. The first wee bit if yoga is a little ouchy but then gets so much more comfy as time goes on. She also does post-natal yoga which I quite fancy as my pelvic floor was ruined last time Blush

Definitely do Biscuits, I was going to say if you can find a private Physio close by it would be well worth it - sounds like that's what it could be thru work so fingers crossed.
I love the nhs, and can't fault them for how they felt with my knee, the ops I had to have on it and the countless hours of Physio, but, working in a private Physio clinic for the last 8 years - I can definitely see the plus sides!

I'm currently typing this while jovially singing with dd - she's been so active today and is now clearly so tired she could fall asleep - we have baked emergency stay awake cupcakes and now waiting for them to cool to sample them (wondering how long I can drag that bit out!) she can not fall asleep before 6.30 or she will be up at stupid o'clock. Any time after 6.30 is fine - she seems to be able to have a normalish night then..... The next hour and 10 minutes may see my neighbours moving if I have to keep singing!!

Biscuits, I suffered from SPD last time and it was horrendous. Physio didn't help me, but craniosacral therapy did. I went to a guy at the pregnancy and birth centre in Tollcross. I saw him once and it went away! Seriously recommend.

Raeside · 24/01/2016 18:40

We have chicken pox in the house. Oh god.

HungryHorace · 24/01/2016 19:57

Oh god indeed. But...at least it's now and not when you're due to fly to Oz!

Raeside · 24/01/2016 22:17

True fact Hungry !!

BeanCalledPickle · 24/01/2016 22:33

I thought you vaccinated!!

Raeside · 25/01/2016 08:37

Bean yeah I meant to. I never did. Am idiot.

BeanCalledPickle · 25/01/2016 08:43

Ha ha! I just assumed you would as all the Aussies I know think it's madness that we don't given its standard back home!

Raeside · 25/01/2016 08:50

Exactly! It was a bit of a palaver getting it sorted here, involving taking cash to gp, ordering vaccine, etc. I never got round to it. Regrets, regrets...,

BeanCalledPickle · 25/01/2016 11:06

How annoying! Our GP just includes it at the year jabs and you pay fifty quid on the way out. She thinks that it's insane that we don't routinely vaccinate which it is a bit. Girl at school died from it when I was young:(

Raeside · 25/01/2016 14:25

£150 at my GP! Crazy! And you have to pre-order!

Raeside · 25/01/2016 14:26

It looks like being a fairly mild dose of pox in any case, thank goodness.

SunnyL · 26/01/2016 06:18

I'M ALIVE! ! ! !

Freaking hell though. When just breathing in and out is a chore you know you've got a problem. I'd also forgotten how terrible daytime TV is. Must reinstate my rule during mat leave of no TV before 6pm if I'm going to keep my sanity.

Sorry to hear about the chickenpox Rae. Somehow we've managed to swerve that despite multiple outbreaks at nursery.

Off to Bristol today for my big important meeting of the calendar year. Quite looking forward to it as for once someone else has to take forward all the subsequent work not me! Also looking forward to creating a kerfuffle as none of them know I'm big fat and pregnant Blush

Raeside · 26/01/2016 09:10

I am on my way to Bristol too, Sunny - see you there! Glad you've pushed through the flu. Bravery.

cuphat · 26/01/2016 14:14

Our GP surgery doesn't offer any private vaccinations so we haven't got around to the chickenpox one (yet). They did recommend where to go but making an appointment, getting there and paying over the odds seems like a hassle. Would have paid whatever if the GP surgery did it!

Bean, did you say something ages ago about having to wait until the little one is so old or something?

Third time lucky at the dentist. DD was actually excited when it was her turn to sit on the chair! She did everything the dentist asked and her teeth are good. They gave her a couple of stickers at the end this time (none to be seen last time). Last time she was scared of the arm thing over the chair and it went downhill from there so I am feeling relieved today!

cuphat · 26/01/2016 14:49

Those who have vaccinated: did you give one dose or two? The place in this area now recommends two doses 6-8 weeks apart. £90 per dose. Two children (DS can have from 12 months so might hang on and do them together)! Still want to give DD the men b vaccination that she missed out so it won't be a cheap visit!

cuphat · 26/01/2016 14:57

£250 for the two doses recommended for DD! So it'd be £610 total!

Biscuitswithtea · 26/01/2016 16:09

Crikey Cup! I'm now slightly relieved that ds has had chickenpox and thus we don't even need to have that debate.

Bathroom work continues. It started two weeks ago, had a massive delay and started again properly yesterday. We currently have a toilet and a little sink and that's all. But the plasterer came this morning and did amazing things :) We might yet get a nice bathroom out of all of this!

Shop around. There is a travel clinic that will order it in near us as well as the gp. It's twelve months and then two jabs.

cuphat · 26/01/2016 18:36

Hasn't thought of that. Have just looked; chickenpox is £60 cheaper but men b is £50 more expensive.

cuphat · 26/01/2016 18:36

Hadn't!

HungryHorace · 26/01/2016 19:06

Most places aren't taking on new meningitis jab patients right now as there's a shortage. Both of ours missed out so at some point it's going to get expensive!

I'm not going to vaccinate against CP though. We are fully expecting it to hit soon too!

BeanCalledPickle · 26/01/2016 20:35

Hmmm I have guilt about the men b. It's 120 a pop at our doctors. You are meant to do for both what you do for one and I do feel like I should get Polly done but the main risk is up to one with a residual risk to five. So it's just that residual risk... So rare but so bad. Unlike CP which I'm doing mainly just to spare them the misery.
