Sorry to hear that, la -is it something that might correct itself naturally over time? Hope it's not causing any discomfort to him.

Baby d finally went to sleep at 4.30am....We think that she might be teething. Is that even possible at 9 weeks? Apart from loss of appetite, she has pretty much all the symptoms. Aarrgh.

LaLaLaaaa · 06/11/2015 15:33

Deeply they can be born with teeth through so absolutely possible! My friends baby got first at 6 weeks. B is definitely showing signs and we can feel top ones coming through.

We have to go see paediatrician - they will say whether we need to put him in a splint or not. Think microwil had one too.

Just had HV and she was very helpful shock horror with advice about combination feeding and stuff. Had B weighed and he was 17.1lb. 98th percentile. Bruiser!

Pisghetti · 06/11/2015 16:48

Wow I think your B is actually bigger than my B now! Hope your appointment comes through quickly so you know one way or the other Flowers

Been trying to sort appointments out myself today. Had a smear come back as dodgy so need to go have someone poke about my cervix. Again. Third time now. If any of you viroids have been putting it off - go! Soon!

Fleurchamp · 06/11/2015 16:59

Hi all!

deeply I will turn down your kind offer as I already have one of those models Sad

We are mid leap here and it is not pretty.

I also have had 3 Drs appts, jabs and now I have mastitis, again.

S has to have more blood tests next week too.

That's great that the HV was useful la. I am at the end of the road with BF now, this latest bout of mastitis is the final straw, I was wondering whether to ask the HV to advise how to go about swapping onto bottles Confused as I have no idea how to go about it.

Sorry to hear about B's hips - are they just checking him because of your history or did you have reason to suspect? Hopefully it will be easily rectified.

Christ on a bike la do you produce milk or rocket fuel?!? Grin S is just under 14lb!

ZylaB · 06/11/2015 22:16

la hope you get the appointment son and his hips are sorted!

We took H to a bonfire and fireworks tonight - I'd bought some ear defenders and we put her in a snow suit in the sling...she slept through the whole thing, even the loud bangers! Glad we went though :)

deeplybaffled · 06/11/2015 22:56

Sorry to hear that you are still having a tough time, fleur - you've really not had the luck Sad but the fact that you have made it to 4 months bf despite your problems is surely something that you can look back on and be proud of!
Hope your hv can help - we've done a few bottles of express and formula since very early on and she seems ok with bottles, so hope it all goes smoothly for you.
Why does he need blood tests? Hope all goes ok.
Disappointed that you weren't up for a second model - just think of all the experience that you could bring to bear for herWink

ZylaB · 07/11/2015 07:44

fleur you've done brilliantly to get to this stage with the bf, if you need to swap to bottles, then do it. Some of my friends really recommend the perfect prep machine for quick making of a good temp bottle. I guess you'd try S with one bottle and see how it goes from there? Gx for you :)

RPopz · 07/11/2015 09:24

Aah that's a shame La - poor B. What do they do for hip dysplasia? He's a lovely big chunk! Well done mama!

Aw, fleur - mastitis is horrific, I think I'd feel the same in your shoes. You've done amazing to get this far with bf though. Hope the HV will have some good advice re switching to formula. I think you'd have to drop feeds gradually though so you don't end up with rock boobs? Have also heard good things about the perfect prep! Hope you feel better soon. Xxx

Eurgh Pis .... You just reminded me I got a letter about my smear test. The thought of anyone poking around in my cervix right now is pretty sickening! I've never had a normal smear though.... Should probably get on it! Hope your results come back ok.

Could well be teething deeply - minipopz started showing the signs about that time. He didn't get any teeth for months though!!

The witch is officially back here! Probably explains the foul mood of the last few weeks....

Send me positive house selling thoughts please viroids.... Have fallen in love with about a bajillion houses this week, really need to get mine sold!!

RPopz · 07/11/2015 09:25

We took mini to a bonfire and firework display Zyla - he was more interested in eating my coat!! Grin

purplewhale · 07/11/2015 13:05

Will catch up later as been away. But YY to perfect prep machine, it will make your life tons easier. We keep ours on the landing then we don't have to come downstairs in the night

Fleurchamp · 07/11/2015 15:12

Thanks! I have a perfect prep machine - bought on sale a few weeks ago.

What do you do about taking bottles out and about? flask?

LaLaLaaaa · 07/11/2015 16:21

Hello!!

Hope your appointment goes ok pis I've just had my smear test, expecting the results this week Confused

Fleur you've done so well! Think you deserve a big pat on the back for managing through despite mastitis and the rest. I also bought pp machine just in case I give up as it was £40 but not used yet. I think to give up slowly you drop one feed at a time as that gives your body a chance to adjust, but i guess your mastitis will decide if you can do that or not?

Thanks for the kind words about the hips. I'm really hoping the paediatric orthopaedic doc decides it can be helped with a point rather than an operation. Or might just be that he's slow to develop. I just am terrified he will go through life with pain like I have :( but I'm thinking positive because plenty of babies have it and it's successfully corrected.

Mammy is still here which is fab. She is just so good at helping me to look on the positive and helps me to see how wonderful B is. I mean, I know he is already but it's lovely hearing someone else say it! He's had a sore tummy the last few nights which I think ties in with giving him cough medicine. So he's not slept well poor love. Hopefully we are over the worst as his nappies are less explosive today

Fleur I agree this leap is a bastard!!! B just seems to fluctuate between needy, exhausted and frustrated/angry. It seems to take a lot out of them. He's doing lots of new things though

Got told off by HV for not doing enough tummy time so B isn't holding head up when in tummy very well yet. He does it brilliantly when sitting up or when being held on my shoulder, it's just he doesn't when on belly - he prefers to chew his hand! Hmm

Got signed off though as not being PND (that's why she was here as she was concerned).

Packed away our 3-6 month clothes today and got the 6-9 month out. My boy is growing up fast - sob sob!

LaLaLaaaa · 07/11/2015 16:25

Oooh good luck with the house Popz!
*
Zyla* I was dying to take B to the quiet kids display but it's pissing down here and I really can't be arsed now. Where did you get ear defenders from? We are planning to take b to a festival next year so need some.

Fleur there's some good bottle feeding advice on babycentre - I read it all when I was thinking about giving up bf. You can boil water and put in flask to go out and about, it keeps at temperature for a number of hours. You can get dispensers to keep formula sterile

ZylaB · 07/11/2015 19:02

la Amazon, it's where everything comes from! :)

purplewhale · 07/11/2015 21:43

Fleur I use the ready made bottles, I make one up when I leave the house then use the readymade after that. There's always a couple of them in the change bag. With a couple of empty sterilised bottles.
I also have a pack of the ones that come in bottles in the car for emergencies after I went out without milk the other week.

purplewhale · 07/11/2015 21:53

Witch has been hanging around here for ages, it was nice and steady for a week then gone full on in the last 2 days and has caught me out Sad

We've had a few days away at my sisters which has been lovely. She's helped lots and sent me back to bed in the mornings while she's taken him on the school run. The journeys weren't great, he slept lots which seems to have messed up his sleep pattern a bit

Fleur I thin you've done a fantastic job BF for as long as you have and if you're ready to stop then that's when you should do. Can't advise how to stop though, mine never got off the ground so it dried up without any effort.

La it's lovely for you to have your mum there so much, I'd be lost without mine. Hope Bs hip can be resolved quickly and easily

cookielove · 08/11/2015 10:54

la fx his hip can correct it self :) what is.the next step?

purple is that your first from having your lo?

fleur you will love the perfect prep :) we use to buy premade stuff (which is expensive but we are lazy) for trips out. My friend use to put sterile water (cool) in the bottles and take out premeasured formula. Which isn't the correct way but worked for her.

popz I am sending you positive house vibes Grin

Yy to teething early but you may not see any results for ages!!

Can I ask if we could all put the ages of our babies at the bottom of your posts just for a while as I am struggling to remember all ages :)

DS is 14 months :)

DulcetMoans · 08/11/2015 16:58

Despite being permanently on my phone and popping in here every hour I seem to lack the energy to actually post anything!

Found anyone to buy your house yet popz? Have you put offers in or just found some you like?

Hope you get some good advice fleur so you can come to a pain free stop. You've done a fab job in difficult circumstances!

Hope you can some answers soon la? Horrible to hear I'm sure but at least you know and can work with the medical people to get his hips into a good place. Good you have your mum there to help!

Sorry you are feeling glum toast. Have you got plans to get out this week? I know it's hard with a frequent feeder but still makes all the difference. Baby cinema is a good start as you're in the dark so can get boobs out all you like, if you need to feed for two hours non-stop then you can!

Bought a baby monitor today. Going to try and crack naps and get him doing them upstairs so I don't wake him. Still feeding to sleep, even naps, but might need to work on that second. Why oh why is sleep so difficult?!

For cookie - DS, 16 weeks. Grin

LaLaLaaaa · 08/11/2015 17:31

Hello!

Dulcet I find having B upstairs for sleep really helps - I have video and sound/movement monitors on him and white noise in the room. I only do it from 7 until I go to bed but it gives him a lovely chunk of good sleep and when I go to bed he's normally in a good sleep and carries on a couple more hours.

Purple it's nice having help :)

B is a grumpy strong willed monkey just now. He has started screeching if you're not fast enough with what he wants or if you try to get him to do something he doesn't want to do!

We will need to see what the doctors say and he might need another scan. If the hip is still shallow he'll possibly either need a splint or an operation, depending on how far along his development is.
DS 15 weeks

RPopz · 08/11/2015 17:41

Exactly same here Dulcet .... I seem to have my phone in my hand all the time but never actually do anything useful with it!@

Seen 3 houses I'm in love with at the moment... Had one offer on ours which is much lower than we'd like, but getting tempted to accept as just want to get moved now!!

DS 10 months.

ZylaB · 08/11/2015 18:37

Went to rugby today...it rains, it H looked cute in the sling in her snow suit!

DD 9 months (today! 3/4 of a year omg...)

Minion · 08/11/2015 18:57

Me too. I always feel like I don't have anything interesting to say. But I always read and think ' ooh I'll just post, ' then R does something and I forget.
Soz gals.

Quick msg for popz, the end of leap 7 is amazing! She's so calm, chatty , laughs a lot and a proper smiler! Hold on there, totally worth it.

cookielove · 08/11/2015 20:07

E is apparently auditioning for the role of drama queen, instant tantrums to get when he wants. It is delightful Grin Hmm

DS still 14 months Wink

Pisghetti · 08/11/2015 23:44

Would it be worth saying you'd accept just a couple of £k more to tempt them to raise the offer a little Popz? Would what they've offered allow you to buy the sort of house you want?

Took me nearly 2 hours to get BabyPis to sleep. According to the wonder weeks app she is a few days short of the next leap so I'm guessing we're actually in it. She having such a hard job getting to sleep but is happy lying there so long as she's stroking my hand. Poor love. Fingers crossed she will stay asleep for a while now..... According to the app she might start experiencing nightmares now Shock wonder what sort of nightmares babies have?? Sour boobs? Having infinite poppers on their sleepsuits? Surely it's not just my baby who treats having her sleepsuits done up like an infringement of her human rights?

DDiva nearly 7.5 months.

Minion · 09/11/2015 06:01

Good. God. No.
Baby pis is most definitely not alone.
Next door must think MINIon must be being tortured when being made to be still. Thankfully that seems to be stopping too.
4 lovely weeks of non leap behaviour...
Ahhh bliss. It's like having a different kid
