HV wasn't worried just said try to up his feeds and see next week. I just am a natural worrier. I think what was happening was he was falling asleep at a feed so I thought he was full but the teat was too slow then he was hungry just a little while later. We'll see next Thursday, just a worry!

Dozygirl · 23/10/2015 12:10

Sure it'll be alright magrat.
Think I'm gonna stop getting her weighed so often now. She's following the 25th centile nicely and she feels much chunkier now. I just like knowing how much she ways out of interest really.

Haha fanby yes I meant parents. I'd definitely be worried if I left her with his pants. Heehee

loveandsmiles · 23/10/2015 12:47

slow something that has already annoyed me today - cars parking too close in car park so you can't open door wide enough to get baby car seat back in- fume!!

joskar lol at your DD1 dancing

mzzzf intrigued as to why you were saying 'showoddywoddy' in first place!!!

lily I have been out in car without DC many times and have found myself chatting away saying 'oh look at the sheep - baa ' etc before realising none of them are in the car with me - motherhood definitely drives you madGrin

Took DS to barbers for back to school hair cut - it's a bit of a rough and ready place - was really sweet to see all the men cooing over the baby and DS looking like the proud big brother showing her off.

Fanby · 23/10/2015 13:01

Will reply more later but trying to feed the beast and I should have left the house by now...

Things that irritate me, people looking down at their phones and getting shitty with me when I try and get around them with the pram...

What else, oh yes lily - good luck starting greys, make sure you have the BIGGEST box of tissues at the ready! x

Tindel · 23/10/2015 13:09

Things that irritate me - places I can't get into with the pram without unbelievable faffing. I was in London last weekend and trying to use the underground was so tough! I ended up walking miles and then realising I had to go round the back of Waterloo station to get in and almost missed my train home!

Also, how slowly do people walk?! I admit I walk fast (joys of 6 foot 4 DH), but it's not so much harder to overtake with the pram and I get glared at for going past them! I don't see why I should crawl along just because I've got J with me - he likes moving around, so is less likely to cry if we keep moving!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 23/10/2015 13:25

love ooo, yes car parks are a good one. I didn't drive when I had grumpy 1 so that has been a whole new seam of annoyances this time around. And yes, I can sympathise with leaving baby in car. I haven't done it... Yet. It's only a matter of time. I feel like I am herding cats with two of them, how you don't regularly lose a couple here and there I don't know. Fair play to you.

lily haha! I love your very British passive/aggressive approach to the builders. That's exactly what I do too!!! Only round here it is yummy mummies in shiny 4x4s parked broadside across the pavement.

frolic glad you are enjoying the book. My bf gave to me when I had grumpy 1 (her DS was 9 months by this point) and I in turn have passed it around most of my Mum friends. Grumpy 1s godmother is due in Feb and she'll be getting a copy for Christmas Smile. This thread is turning into a good book / TV / box set club.

Well grumpy 2 was a super star for her jabs. Howled the house down obviously but took the rotavirus anyway. Is really unsettled now though, poor thing, clearly knackered but just can't relax enough to sleep. Grumpy 1 is stationed in front of Tom and Jerry while I exhaust my full range of soothing techniques (boob, rock, boob, rock. Repeat)

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 23/10/2015 14:09

X-post tindel. Yes, London generally is a pain to get round. We are Londoners originally and after having grumpy 1 I had a much greater sympathy for everybody trying to get around town who wasn't entirely child-free and able-bodied. Getting glared at on buses, even with the buggy folded, was my personal fave. It was one of the factors that prompted us to move!

Frolicacid · 23/10/2015 15:23

I survived a few hours of 3 kids. Even managed to feed everyone! Hats off to all of you with more than one - I'm knackered now!

My big irrational annoyance is people who fuss and faff around ds. I can't stand it if, for example, when I'm changing him, he cries, and people start hovering / clucking over him. Fuck off! Your faffing will just make him more upset. I'm looking at you, in-law's.
I also get the mega rage with randoms out and about who reach into the pram and touch his face. AngryAngry GET YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF MY PRECIOUS BOY!!!
Oh! And don't get me started on people who have to, you know, go to work l, and so leave their wheely bins on the pavement until late in the day. Don't the inconsiderate shite's now I've got a pram to push?!!

I hope little grumpy is alright after the jabs slow. We had them Wednesday. Ds was sleepy and grizzly yesterday, but seems back to his normal self today.

Someone mentioned box sets upthread. Do you have any recommendations for something easy to watch? I'm now almost done with pretty little liars, which is fab, and need something just as easy / trashy to start soon. I wanted Nashville, but can't find it on our you view / Netflix combo.

Dozygirl · 23/10/2015 16:37

Oh that's a shame about nashville. That's what I'm currently in to. I wanna watch greys anatomy too. And I'd love to watch something old like buffy all over again to relive my youth. Dp got an amazing fire stick and has found a way u can watch everything from a programme called kodi. Not always the best quality but means I can watch things that aren't my sky box sets. Ooh I'm watching once upon a time. I'd recommend that too. It should be on Netflix. They only had first 2 series on channel 5 so I'd not had chance of watching more.

Dd was being a grump this morning and I wasn't going anywhere today so I shoved her in the sling and went for a walk to my friends. She stayed awake the whole time it took me lol. About half an hour. So we went for another walk and she eventually fell asleep. She sounded like she did a huge poo explosion but I just left her in it till she woke up heehee. I don't wanna walk back to mine now!

sianihedgehog · 23/10/2015 16:52

Ooft, had a radiator installed in the sitting room today and poor little babyface missed his midday naps almost entirely because of all the drilling and stuff. He dropped off but got woken up and just couldn't settle. Poor wee thing was SO TIRED by the time it was all done that he was crying and fighting his droopy eyes and needing constant cuddles. Put him down in the pram to save my back and rocked it back and forth three times and he was OUT COLD. Still out nearly an hour later, too.

I think if I want to get him asleep at nights I'm going to have to make afternoons and evenings too exciting for naps, but I'm bloody shattered and DP is grumpy as all hell right after work. :/

Fanby · 23/10/2015 17:42

Well DH just forgot we had a baby...just text me from work to see if I wanted to join him at his friends bday tonight as some of the other WAGS are going...so I say yes sounds good, is molly allowed in-it's in a bar. Then he calls in a panic saying he'll phone and check. Calls back all apologetic as kids aren't allowed in after 4pm, I asked him whether he forgot we had molly and he admired yes HAHAHAHAHA! MEN! x

Fanby · 23/10/2015 17:47

Admitted, not admired!

Box sets - I'm watching orange is the new black-pretty good! And narcos via Netflix-narcos is pretty hardcore....

EffinIneffable · 23/10/2015 17:53

Ha ha fanby! Think I might have had a sense of humour failure at that!

We had electricians in today. Ds couldn't sleep through the drilling so we've been nomads today, camping out at a friends house and baby cafe. He's had a few naps in the sling y just sent him out with DH so he might snooze in the pram, fingers crossed. I was terrible giving DH all sorts of instructions. I really want him to be independent with ds and so I need to give him time on his own, but I worry he's not very attentive and will just be on his phone instead of thinking about ds. Guess he has to find his own way though.

FattyNinjaOwl · 23/10/2015 19:12

Evening all. I have just read back but I can't remember a darn thing, except well done on the weight loss dozy

DS2 is still being a greedy monkey today. I don't know how I'm going to cope if this Keeps up much longer. I feel like I'm constantly feeding or sorting bottles. Poor DD has had hardly any time with me, not to mention DS1. Haloween Sad

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 23/10/2015 20:02

Cluster feeding a very miserable grumpy 2 who is understandably living up to her name tonight thanks to meany Mummy and the nurse with the big needles Haloween Sad.

Having said that grumpy 1 who is usually a screen free child (at home at least) has absolutely loved her afternoon of cartoons and the CBeebies iPad app (seriously addictive, I recommend it!) Halloween Grin.

Will read up on everyone's messages and reply in a bit. Just wanted to say to dozy though that I am a massive Buffy fan (super geek!) and have them all on DVD. So I virtually invite you over for a Buffy marathon (with added Yorkie bars) Smile

FattyNinjaOwl · 23/10/2015 20:10

Ah fuck. DD decided DS2 needed weaning. I went to take my plate away and start washing the pots and she fed him half a samosa! He was eating it too until I came back in (when I heard the sucking) and practically threw myself over there to take it off him!!!

Fanby · 23/10/2015 20:33

Oh fatty!!! A samosa, what a good snack to have as first food Wink no jokes aside, hope he's ok and not too much, if any was swallowed xx

FattyNinjaOwl · 23/10/2015 20:55

I don't think any was swallowed Halloween Confused
He seems fine but I suppose I will find out if his poo turns to water...

Frolicacid · 23/10/2015 21:52

It seems that my payoff for a successful afternoon with dn's is a grumpy, overtired, screaming ds. I'm wandering if it's still the jabs bothering him or the fact that he's not napped for longer than an hour today as opposed to his usual 2-3 hour sleeps. Ah well, white noise is helping but it's getting in every last nerve I have.

Thanks for all the box set recommendations. Keep 'em coming.

I've not done a great job of catching up thanks to the unhappy chappy - but I hope you're all ok.

We constantly forget that we have a baby fanby! At least a few times a week we'll talk about doing something or going somewhere that we can't with ds. Sometimes we get quite a way into planning before remembering Blush

I hope dd recovers from her jabs quickly slow.

Oh dear fatty! Hopefully he didn't swallow. I'm sure tomorrow's nappies will let you know if he did.

Tindel · 23/10/2015 22:06

Box set recommendations - I am working my way through American Horror Story - it's quite dark, but I enjoyed the 3 series I've seen so far. In terms of brainless entertainment on Netflix, Spooks is worth a go - v silly, but strangely engaging.

kbro79 · 23/10/2015 22:47

Oh god worst evening ever! I may go and sleep in the car to get away from DS's screaming. God knows what our neighbours think we are doing to him.

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 24/10/2015 00:00

Evening all,

This thread is so super busy! We've had a busy day of toddler based activities today so DS has come along for the ride mostly. He's always grinning at DD though so I don't think he minds. She was wafting a scarf at him earlier playing peekaboo a la baby sensory. It was so cute though. Less so when she nearly sat on his head.

After saying our "routine" was working pretty well DS fell asleep on me at 7 fully clothed and only just woke now so had to do bedtime ritual. Don't know what it will mean for the night pattern.

I don't get chance to watch box sets Sad. If the TV goes on during the day DD demands one of her programmes so I try not to put it on unless I need to get her to sit still for a bit. How much I rely on this seems to be directly proportional to how well DS has woken the previous night!

Having read Fatty's samosa story has reminded me of a confession. I dropped sauce from a burger down the sling the other day. Haven't washed it yet and caught DS licking the stain today!

Oh and my Friday irritation is people who cancel or change plans at the last minute leaving me with a weekend of nothing to do with both children because DH is working. I was meant to see my parents but they want to do the garden instead now! Another friend has cancelled lunch tomorrow but not given a reason and I don't feel I can ask anyone else at short notice when the weekend should be family time. Ah well, the community farm, park and soft play cafe it is for the 3 of us.

Wishing everyone Mugabe nights!

FattyNinjaOwl · 24/10/2015 00:10

I've just had to have a shower and bath DS2. He was sick everywhere! Poor mite. There was even a pea in there! How he swallowed it and didn't choke I don't bloody know, but it was squashed as if he'd chewed it Halloween Confused

He's sleeping soundly now, but I don't think we will get a full night out of him.
Jesus Christ. What on earth was I thinking leaving them?!

Friday annoyances...although technically Saturday now,
People who stand directly in front of the tandem in sainsburys, and move whenever you try to go round them, then when you say excuse me they look at you as if you're a piece of shit they've just stepped in. Halloween Hmm

FattyNinjaOwl · 24/10/2015 00:13

Oh and boxsets, I'm re-watching house.
And I second once upon a time.
The blacklist is awesome. Season 3 starts next week Halloween Grin

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 24/10/2015 01:55

Well, grumpy 2 seems okay just very hungry now. The horrible 'I'm in pain' random screams have finally stopped. Did anyone else get terrible smelling trumps off the rotavirus vaccine though? We can't work out if it is because she needs a poo or if its a reaction to the drops but the smells wafting out of the gro bag are epic and her wind is not normally this stinky.

fatty poor DS2, hope he feels better for puking it all up. And that you feel better now that he is okay. if he grows up with an unexplained aversion to Indian food you'll know why now. Not a sign that you are a bad Mum at all though, just human, and alls well that ends well.

nolonger yes to people who cancel stuff! I must confess to getting a bit panicky at the thought of extended periods of time with both together when I haven't planned anything!! Sorry to hear that your DH has to work weekends, that's rubbish. Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow anyway. Will he get time off in the week to compensate?

I'm gutted that Nashville has finished on More 4. We don't have Netflix or Sky so are limited to the contents of the freeview box but for totally brainless entertainment I like Suits and The Good Wife. Also watch a lot of stuff on BBC4, at this rate grumpy 2 may well grow up speaking Danish.

Irritations from today, having grumpy 1 home from school has reminded me that (a) you can't just eat treats whenever you like 'cos anything you eat your eldest wants to munch too and (b) the tellybox is out of bounds because whilst it's okay to expose a bf'ing 8 week old to Nordic Noir it's not so cool for a 4yo....

Right DH has finished winding the trimly one. Back to sleep.
