Work was its usual crazy, busy, understaffed self. Like Anna, I am no longer used to being on my feet for 13hrs with a 20min break in that time, eating lunch at 4pm and leaving late. DD slept reasonably well on Monday night though, woke up at 11ish and DH went in while I turned the monitor off and slept, then woke up at 1.30am,. She woke up for the day at 5.30am but I was planning on getting up not long after that anyway. I had over 3 consecutive hours of sleep which is great in my world. DH and both DDs got on ok yesterday too with nursery, school and bedtime. DD2 was a bit upset at nursery apparently but they thought that was her teeth, as she finally has a tiny bit of tooth coming through. DH put both DDs to bed by 7 last night as they were both exhausted from nursery/ school and being up too early.

Annarose2014 · 16/09/2015 12:55

How many days are you going to do per week? Are you going back full time?

I've been feeling rough as a badgers arse these past few days. Full on prementrual, even though my period isn't due for another week. Last time I felt like this I was pregnant, but its still too early for a positive test so its a horrid limbo where I'm all crampy and my back is killing me and I've no energy but can't even find out why!

We've watched quite a bit of CBeebies today. Blush

DH bought me a big bar of Galaxy chocolate as he thought it appropriate in the circumstances, lol.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 16/09/2015 19:33

Ohhhh Anna now I want galaxy sometimes dark choc dosent quite hit the spot.

Baby has been unsettled again at nursery husband said he cries now when they get to the front door of nursery. He hasn't really eaten again at nursery. He has a streaming nose which could be teeth or another cold he only been 4days free of a cold from getting one on his settling in sessions. Joys of nursery bugs.

excitedforbaba · 17/09/2015 06:36

Eastmids we have woken up with a cold here this morning. Snuffely baby with streaming eyes Sad I'm wondering is it coming from teeth as she's tried to chew on me numerous times and she's only up half an hout...one attempt at my wrist Confused
It's horrible she's trying to be her usual happy self though!

I too want a big bar of galaxy I don't think oh would be impressed if I text him to ask for a bar along with all the stuff Iv just requested for dd already

Greenstone · 17/09/2015 09:51

So DD, the worst sleeper ever, slept 7.20-2.45am last night with no wakes , no resettling, quick feed then back down til 6.40am when she got up for the day. Truly this is amazing stuff. I'm pretty sure that's the first time in history she's skipped the 10-11pm wake-up.

AND she may even have slept longer than 2.45 had I not gone into her to check she was still alive Blush

The stars must have all aligned right yesterday. Not expecting a repeat for tonight but just amazed that she can do it without all of this endless rocking. When I put her back in the cot after her feed and crept out she gave a little cry and I totally expected her to start up a protest but she didn't.

Amazing! So chuffed that she's now done it at least once.

Huge sympathies to those with colds/nursery bugs...they're the worst, there's nothing you can really do :( The DDs are just over their colds and I'm bracing myself for the next round.

Annarose2014 · 17/09/2015 10:43

Its amazing when they first do it, isn't it? It gives you such hope for the future!

Do you have a monitor? We have a video one and its paid for itself 10 times over as sometimes I don't go in. I look, see him breathing, or see his eyes are still closed and I leave it. Fan-bloody-tastic.

haventgotaclue1 · 17/09/2015 11:29

greenstone that's brilliant news!

Another one with a snotty, snuffly baby. ..think it's teething-related Sad

Am currently sat in car on driveway as dd is napping - she didn't have her usual nap 2hrs after waking up; then she had her 1st hour at nursery on her own (she did brilliantly and I was ok too Wink); and then she fell asleep in the car on the way back and I don't want to wake her up by taking her out of the car. ..that's the downside of having a car seat that doesn't come out of the car. ..

Strawberryfield12 · 17/09/2015 13:16

Yay greenstone! One day they all will sleep through, even though ATM it seems impossible.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 17/09/2015 16:53

Sat here with a poorly baby cuddled upto me he doesn't normally sit cuddled up without a boob in his mouth not really eaten at nursery today no poo for 3 days and took a prune pouch on Mon so just given a prune pouch as refused dinner.

He even smells poorly the nurses amoungst us or with more than one will probably get what I mean by the poorly smell.

Finishing work early on a Thursday to do school run and early pick up from nursery is a much nicer day.

moggle · 18/09/2015 10:14

Hi all, another zombie here. We've had two weeks of cold after starting nursery and now more teething (still no teeth though!) and probably the 44-46week wonder week too. She's waking multiple times in the night and needing either feeding or long cuddles. And 9/10 times daddy won't do. I'm so tired! She's also not eating much apart from fruit which I'm finding a bit hard to deal with. So fed up of throwing away food and crawling on hands and knees picking it up off the floor :-(

She is crawling everywhere and standing up without holding onto anything for longer and longer periods. She is saying mamamamama which is sweet but it's only when she's upset or tired! She started at nursery two afternoons a week and has settled like a dream - she seems to love it. Once less thing to worry about I'm not back at work yet, will Be back three days a week from mid-Oct. but am loving my two afternoons to myself!

Glad to hear some of the more reluctant sleepers are starting to go longer stretches now. Don't know how you deal with it when it's been constant since day 1!!! Big mum points To you!

Annarose2014 · 18/09/2015 11:28

OMG same as that moggle!

DS has started to say Mamamama too - but it seems to mean "I want something". I was thrilled initially but now I've twigged that he says Dadadada when he's excited or playing or happy, but Mamamama means the opposite!

Nooooo!

Greenstone · 18/09/2015 12:43

Well scratch the sleeping longer stretches thing, last night she was awake for 3 hours. It's like once she's awake she just cannot shut down her brain. Overtired also from poor napping at nursery. We actually let her cry for a bit in desperation last night but DH caved before too long. She eventually slept from 1.40am through til morning which was something at least.
I'm very tired of it all now, ten and a half months of shit nights... She's more fun every day but life seems a bit relentless when the nights are bad. oh well. It's true, strawberry, one day they will all sleep through!

Sorry to hear that some of the babies are still miserable with colds today Flowers

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/09/2015 13:09

I am embarrassed as a maternity night nanny who supports parents to get baby sleeping through the night that I have a baby at almost 10mths who is still up and having boob twice a night although we are very very close to getting back to once a night dam cold has ruined that a little last night.

Greenstone · 18/09/2015 13:16

east don't be embarrassed! It is what it is. I think we both had/have reflux babies and it's definitely a game-changer isn't it? DD1 was a regular old boob addict who was capable of STTN at this age but just chose not to but responded well to some light encouraging when I'd had enough. DD2 is a whole different story. One feed a night is pretty good going, I'd be very happy with that for now I think.

Anyway, It's not like you have to broadcast your own circumstances to your clients Wink none of their business!

In other news DD2 has a new thing where if you ask her for a cuddle she leaps into your arms and pushes up and down with her legs. Unbelievably cute. It's such a cute age -by day--

Greenstone · 18/09/2015 13:19

oh and no mamamama at all here yet. This is probably because she hasn't yet realised I am a separate entity and not actually part of her Hmm

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/09/2015 16:21

Thanks greenstone yep silent reflux and that has just caused poor sleep patterns really still on meds twice a day. Ds 1 was ebf and slept through from 15weeks 11-12hrs a night no sleep regression at all, ds2 has hit every sleep regression going.

Frustrating that i wanted to get back to night nanny work when baby was 6mths old to get some money in to extend my mat leave but have ended up back to work now but they say everything happens for a reason and you are dealt more than you can cope with - although I am not one for "sayings".

ladydolly · 18/09/2015 19:15

We'll, we're moved and currently living in half unpacked boxes hell!! Sleepless 1st night in the house, no double in dd's bedroom but after half hourly wake ups until 4am I brought her in with me and dp and she slept and fed on and off til 7 when we all got up and realised... she has chicken pox!! Tiny blisters all over! Text my childminder who told me one of the babies who came for a day last week had it - nice of her to tell us in advance!! She's been a bit grumpy but not too bad. I expect another long night ahead so packed dp off to another room.

Amazing trick from her at the moment, when I take a call on my phone she hold her hand to her ear and says 'hiya' or even 'hello'!! She'll also use things as a phone and do it! (Hmmm perhaps we spend too much time on our phones...)
She started clapping this week but I feel a bit sad because I didn't teach her that :(

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/09/2015 20:48

Ladydolly unsure if age restrictions on it but virasoothe for chicken pox is amazing well worth £10 for a tube. Pop oats in a muslin tie to tap and run a bath helps dry spots out.

Piriton it great for the itching also makes them drowsy need it prescribed doc for under 2 though I think.

Wow at the copying with phone we just have babbling here like mamama dadada bababa although he shouts bahhh when he wants his brother!!

Arkkorox · 18/09/2015 20:54

Hello, sorry been just so bloody knackered. After dds last sleep through she has become a nightmare. Infact of the last 2 nights are anything to go by im expecting her back down with me in 20 mins. Last night I lost the plot and threw her bottle at the bathroom door after I had tried to leave her sleeping for the NINTH!!!!! Time. I was so ready to walk out that door.

However im more in control less insane today and dd will not get the better of me. Remember this is only temporary I have to keep reminding myself

haventgotaclue1 · 19/09/2015 06:16

moggle we've got the same here on the eating front. It's really frustrating. She was doing really well and eating anything I put in front of her until about last week. Now it seems to be completely hit and miss as to whether she'll eat or not - and it's the same stuff that she's had before. So yesterday she wouldn't have any of the cheesy leek and potato soup I'd made her (wouldn't even let me get the spoon near her mouth), but was quite happy to eat yoghurt and a load of plain pitta bread. Then at tea she ate all the fish pie, another yoghurt, more pitta bread and some kiwi fruit. I find it very difficult and annoying after I've spent loads of time making the meals. ...

Ark your not alone - I had a day like that on Thurs. Ended up in tears (both me and dd), but then yesterday was a new day and much better Smile..... Thinking of you.

Arkkorox · 19/09/2015 07:14

We've really regressed now. dd up every 2 hours last night just pissing about. Wasn't hungry or anything just wanted to use me as a climbing frame. I'm not terribly tolerant at 3am and her grabbing and yanking my hair just about finished me off. Then she fell out of bed twice

I'm well and truly a member of zombie club today.

MrsAukerman · 19/09/2015 07:31

Oh dear ark it's hard to stay calm and relaxing when all you want to do is scream 'go the fuck to sleep!' isn't it?!

We're on holiday in Ireland and have spent most of the 2 nights so far with him in the middle of the bed. Hoping that the next place we stay at also has a massive bed.

happypotamus · 19/09/2015 17:53

I went to bed at 9 last night, as I was so tired after 2 shifts at work. I felt guilty because DH washed up and took the baby monitor downstairs (though she didn't wake up until after he had brought it back up and come to bed),as he had been at work all day and I actually hadn't (I worked Tuesday and Thursday) though I still have to be up fairly early to get us all ready to take DD1 to school. It seems DH can do work and looking after the DDs and getting basic housework done better than I can. Ok so his work isn't as intense or such long days as mine but he is there 5 days a week and I've only done 2. Next week I am doing 2 nightshifts. That could be terrible for him and DD2, as she usually wakes about 3 times a night and only wants me, but I have realised that, ironically, the day in between my 2 nightshifts might be one of my longest stretches of sleep in a year while DD2 is at nursery and DD1 is at school. I could get 6 whole hours of uninterrupted sleep if I leave work on time and it doesn't take too long to get home.

eastmids and lady hope your poorly babies are better soon.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 19/09/2015 19:44

Thanks happy thick green snot has been the pleasure of today although other than one spike in temp he has been very happy all day. Oh I am jealous of your potential 6hrs sleep tell all the neighbours not to mow, drill etc etc.

Oh and 9pm is a late night for me these days. 9.15 I am panicking I won't get enough sleep before am woken again :)

Arkkorox · 20/09/2015 03:05

Well I guess 4 hours sleep is better than none...
