Love the photos! They look so cute Grin. My dd isn't even crawling yet, let alone pulling herself up to standing! Maybe just a late developer? ??...

Arkkorox · 30/08/2015 07:08

Just enjoy it havent I miss the days where didn't have to put her down then leg it out the baby gate before she gets there to stand next to it while shouting at me

Arkkorox · 30/08/2015 07:08

Haven't was yours an early December baby like dd?

happypotamus · 30/08/2015 07:57

Lovely photos everyone. Thanks for being so nice yesterday though I don't deserve it. I thought the bumps and bruises would have come out more today and she would look worse, but she looks fine, just one small bump and a couple of other red marks. I am incredibly lucky.

havent don't worry about not crawling. My DD only crawled this week, only once and not very far, and she is several weeks older than the other babies on here. DD1 couldn't crawl, walk or pull herself up on furniture at this age either and 4yrs later no one would know or care. Also, as ark said, it is much easier when they sTay in one place!

lady hope you are feeling better today

Arkkorox · 30/08/2015 08:01

happy dont beat yourself up about it anymore! It's just one of those things that happen, dd catapulted herself out of her bouncy chair at 8 weeks and hit the kitchen floor HARD, it was my fault for putting It on the step. You're not alone in the feeling like a rubbish mum for it but honestly you're not!

Dd did the crawling once one time thing and then suddenly she could do it at speed!

CazY777 · 30/08/2015 09:17

The jeans were from primark Ark

It was definitely easier when she wasn't moving and pulling herself up on things, taking books off the shelves, pulling wires and opening draws! I noticed last night that I also have bruises on my face from where she's been grabbing my glasses. I look a right state, along with the massive dark bags under my eyes as she's still waking loads in the night. Boob is hurting again but I think it's a milk blister this time (and not mastitis again I hope).

ladydolly · 30/08/2015 09:47

Much better here today, even managed to keep a yogurt down this morning. Just feeling totally wiped out. Dp has taken dd into town so I can have some peace. She seems fully recovered, just a touch grumpy.

happy I cut dd TWICE when trimming her nails. And she's crawled off the bed TWICE!! These are worse because I let it happen again!! These accidents happen to us all I'm afraid :(

As the babies get older the differences in what they do and when will get bigger but it means bugger all but I have to confess to wishing for the non moving days back, especially as she now likes crawl into her bedroom because she can walk between the mirror, wardrobe, bed and footstall and is seems pretty pleased with herself!

Ark - yeah, almost early Dec - 29th Nov Smile...sometimes I wonder if her lack of crawling is due to her chubbiness, but as you all say, I'm sure I should be making the most of it now whilst she doesn't wriggle too far! She's got to the stage of sticking her bum in the air and is managing to get onto her hands and knees, then it's like she doesn't know what to do next and she just collapses! It's quite funny really Grin

Ladydolly, really pleased you're feeling better today - must be really pants to be so ill and looking after dd too...

Arkkorox · 30/08/2015 16:03

Ah she's only a week older than dd and she's only just grasped crawling 3 days ago!

Thisisimpossible · 30/08/2015 19:09

ark love BOTH your babies! And loving the photos of babycaz too :) I will have to find one of DS that I can upload. We've been at a festival this afternoon (a nice FREE one!) and it was lovely having a pint of cider and sitting on the grass watching live music. DS seemed to really enjoy it too.

Glad you're feeling a bit better ladydolly

havent DS has only been crawling for a couple of weeks or so. It took him a whole month from getting up on his hands and knees and rocking to finally move from that position. Trust me it is so much easier when they don't move! Nothing is sacred any more. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Thisisimpossible · 30/08/2015 19:21

Right, hopefully I can work this out...

Lovely photo thisis Smile. They're all really starting to look like little people and not babies now.

catg83 · 30/08/2015 22:15

I cut DS's fingers THREE times. I win!

DS is no where near crawling. When he goes on his front he doesn't even lift his head. He just flips into his back or lies there lookingg at me as if to say "and why am I here?"

Annarose2014 · 31/08/2015 09:29

DS had his first proper nightmare last night. I got an awful shock at how long it lasted. I thought in my innocence that we'd go in an cuddle him and it would end, but he kept on shrieking in our arms for what felt like 10 mins. (Was probably 5)

I didn't realise they don't wake up! He was distraught and I felt myself getting right tearful. It was heart rending! He only stopped when I started singing and even then he was giving these little hiccuping sobs for a while.

Afterwards me & DH had to have a cuddle to console each other!

We'd better toughen up a bit more than this, lol. Nightmares will be the least of it as he gets older!

Thisisimpossible · 31/08/2015 10:17

Stinky, stinky weather here :( DP is sitting across the table from me playing with his sewing machine and trying to get it to do a special kind of stitch to fix the back carrier we got given. Love him! I hate sewing machines with a vengeance. I haven't gone near one since the 3rd year of school when I made a catastrophically bad felt mouse thing in needlework.

Thisisimpossible · 31/08/2015 10:20

Anna DS has had a couple like that too. The only thing that worked for us was taking him out of his room and into the lighter hall which seemed to help refocus him. Poor little man, it's horrible seeing them cry like that isn't it.

Ladydolly how are you feeling today?

Ark is your DP home now? Did DD miss him? Grin

Arkkorox · 31/08/2015 13:41

He got home late last night after dd was in bed but this morning she proper gave him the silent treatment! So funny! She kept pushing his face away until she decided he had been suitably punished and then was all over him! Funny things these babies are.

ladydolly · 31/08/2015 15:18

I thought I was totally recovered so had a small cooked breakfast and went to Tesco... and nearly passed out. I just felt so dizzy and spaced out. I came home and went to bed. DD had not 1 but 2 poonamis while we were there poor thing, so she's still not right. That's 5 days so I'll take her to the docs tomorrow.

I'm trying to ease her back onto solid food so bland and easy to digest stuff. She's therefore filling up on my milk, she didn't settle until 9 last night, was up at 11.30, 1.30 and then at 2.30 I brought her into bed with me and she stayed on the boob until 5!! Then managed to get her back to sleep until 7 when she did another 45 minutes on. So I'm quite tired from the interrupted sleep :(

Chucking it down here too so at least we're not missing a glorious sunny bank holiday!

Drove back from inlaws this lunchtime. Took 2 hours. DS slept for 20 mins of itConfused He has just gone down for another nap which was a battle. We will see how today goes. X

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 01/09/2015 04:07

Lady dolly hope you and dd are better soon

I brought ds2 the toot toot parking tower and although have a couple other toot toot bits saved for bday n Xmas I gave him this now as he was so excited by the little car and he has loved it was a real bargain too was marked as £20 from £33 in Tesco but scanned at £13!!! (Still full price online www.tesco.com/direct/vtech-toot-toot-drivers-parking-tower/262-7971.prd)

haventgotaclue1 · 01/09/2015 08:18

eastmids 4:07???!!! Hope all's ok (and you got more sleep!)...

We bought a couple of toys from Ikea yesterday - stacking rings and that toy they seem to have in every surgery / dentist etc (3 bits of curly wire with wooden shapes that you can move around). Was really funny as DD VERY reluctant to touch it - she kept putting out her hand and then whipping it back at the last minute! Eventually she did pluck up the courage to touch it after I'd played with it for a while Grin

Strawberryfield12 · 01/09/2015 09:12

For about a month DD thinks that the squeaky eggs is best toy ever:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00068Q7LC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

And any wooden puzzles and bricks are also very popular, mainly to put in the mouth.

Havent DD doesn't crawl either, she rolls around, pushes herself on the bum, rocks, but no crawling. I could excuse that she is an early December baby, but the real reason, I recon, is down to myself. I think she doesn't get enough time to be on the floor on herself. I keep popping her from one gadget to another - jumperoo, walker, bumbo chair, bouncy chair, high chair, pram, cot - because than I know she is safe enough to be left for a minute or two for me to do other things. She is trying to push herself up on the cot rails, but the bars here are flat tiles instead of round ones, not very comfortable to get hold on with the tiny hands. Also, the Wonder weeks talk about the milestones in function of the baby's preferences. DD isn't too interested to crawl around either even when she is on the floor with plenty of space around, she just sits there like a pot. I know I could encourage her moving around by leaving ipads, iphones, laptops, remote controls etc around the floor. That's the only time when she actually bothers to move and she always manages to get hold of it. She has worked out that on keyboard she can press the buttons. Saturday morning she has sent thumbs up icon on FB messenger to my ex-boyfriend, he is in my contacts, but we don't really talk, so very appropriate Hmm

CazY777 · 01/09/2015 09:19

It must have been a day for toy buying yesterday. I've been trying to save my boots points so I could buy dd the lamaze octotunes octopus as its expensive, but we found it with £10 off so dh bought it. I'm saving it for her birthday (but might have a play with it myself while she's in bed!)

Arkkorox · 01/09/2015 10:03

In sainsburys they do these printing blocks that are ment to use with paint, I picked up 3 packets for a pound each and dd loves them!!

Dps mum also got her a xylophone which she loves.... Hmm is there such thing as passive agressive present buying? Grin

Annarose2014 · 01/09/2015 10:11

He's been staring at the laundry for the past 10 mins........
