The old thread was getting dangerously close to 1000 messages, so thought I'd better start this one.

We had a day out without the dc today we watched spectre and then did a small amount of shopping. Also had five guys for lunch mmm I love that place.

MrsNutella · 15/11/2015 21:38

Frazzled how was it? I hope you had s good evening or at least a good meal

WL these things can make your head spin. I don't have any tips though Thanks I feel bad hiding from the news. I want to comment on some of the threads. But I also don't want to get involved IYSWIM.

Spotty glad I know what "five guys" actually is phnarrrr

MrsNutella · 15/11/2015 21:39

Oh dear. The app messed with my strike outs! Sorry

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 15/11/2015 22:26

Sorry it was great. Cocktails in Manchester, train back to Wigan, more cocktails.

Then we went out again for Sunday lunch today (quite hungover obviously).

He was nice.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/11/2015 06:19

Ooo two dates in as many days!

halestone · 16/11/2015 09:43

Frazzled i'm glad you had a nice time.

WLFlowers that is a lovely idea from your mum though.

Nutella yay to time alone for a hair cut.

So me H, and DN all have sore throats. I'm lucky compared to the gruesome twosome though, as they both have temperatures and chesty coughs to go with it. Luckily DN is staying at home today so i only have to concentrate on H.

WLmum · 16/11/2015 22:43

Yay frazzled
Boo hales

halestone · 16/11/2015 23:55

I know this sounds awful, but when H is poorly its so nice to snuggle up and cuddle with her. She has fell asleep in my arms 3 times today and i genuinely cannot remember the last time she did that.

Barbeasty · 17/11/2015 09:39

Hales it's the first sign the DD is ill, when she goes all cuddly.

hales you have my sympathy! We have a horrible cough going round our house at the moment. Poor DS coughed and coughed last night. He is so tired Confused

WL how is work? Are you beginning to carve out a little book for yourself?

Well, it's a long story... But last week we had our first appointment with an Ergo therapist for DS last week. It was great. But having a professional tell you that he seems very, very clever and he is physically very fit (can manage some things that a lot of 6 year olds aren't strong enough for Confused) creates other worries that you didn't know you really had ...

On the one hand I'm happy to say, hey, my kid is really smart! But it makes me worry how I'm going to parent him in the future, what are we going to do about school? How is DD going to fare if she isn't as bright? Will she know? Will she be sad?

Aaaarrrgggghhhhh my poor brain. And my poor babies. I'm just so glad that that we have the opportunity to take him somewhere like this therapist. My next meeting with her is alone - because he was listening and distracting us from talking about any bad stuff. I'm curious to see what happens, what she recommends and what help she can give us.

Sorry... Another long waffly post that essentially sounds like I'm boasting probably. Hmm

MrsNutella · 17/11/2015 09:40

Frazzled im so glad your date was better! Hope you get to have some fun.

WLmum · 17/11/2015 21:50

nutella what's an ergo therapist? Work is going ok thanks, I'm a long way from comfortable yet but managing to hang on in there. This week the commute has been hard and I've felt quite overwhelmed today as the school cocked up, but it will be ok.

MrsNutella · 18/11/2015 12:33

I think it might translate as CBT.
When he went to the toilet she said to me that he is listening and watching and he knows what we are talking about.
Confused little Bugger!

DeladionInch · 18/11/2015 18:53

ChocolateBrewCake

halestone · 18/11/2015 18:58

This bug is truely kicking mine and H's bum at the minute.

What made you decide to see a therapist with Ds Nutella?

MrsNutella · 18/11/2015 20:30

Hales we just ran out of ideas for dealing with DS. He isn't naughty or anything, just incredibly strong willed and always, always testing us. It has worn us down and I didn't like that it made us all so tired, unhappy and stressed.
We asked our paediatrician if he had any ideas and he recommended this practice to us.

I feel really really lucky to have access to all of these things. It's all covered by our insurance thank goodness

MrsNutella · 18/11/2015 20:32

And I hope you feel better soon! Lots and lots of tea and honey and be kind to yourselves! Poor DS is developing a brutal cough. I hate it when they're ill. I wish I could take his cough away.

WLmum · 18/11/2015 23:00

hales stress will kill your immune system so please try to find a little time and space to look after you, amidst all the looking after of others. BrewFlowers

WLmum · 18/11/2015 23:02

nutella I'm glad you're finding it helpful. Can't imagine how long you'd have to wait for something like that over here.

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 18/11/2015 23:39

I feel your pain with the poorly DC. DS is completely hoarse with it. He sounds super cute though!

halestone · 19/11/2015 15:10

Nutella i only asked as H is the same completely strong willed and stubborn. My family all believe she is super intelligent as she can retain most information she is given. Its good that you have access to that over in Germany. I hope you see some positive changes come from it.

Frazzled and Nutella i hope the boys feel better soon.

So last night i ended up ringing an ambulance well i say night it was 4am. H had coughed all night her breathing was awful and she was running a temp. The paramedics were very focused on trying to get H to put some knickers on (i had stripped her) this just really distressed her. They did her temp which was 39.4 and said we'll give some calpol and i explained had given both calpol and nurofen at 3:30 along with her inhalers. So we ended up in A+E she was weighed and topped up with more calpol and nurofen. They did a full exam and don't know were shes poorly from but suspect tonsils. So shes home now on antibiotics. Poor thing is not herself at all.

MrsNutella · 19/11/2015 17:56

Hales we have done the middle of the night to hospital dash. It is horrible! Both times for croup with DS. I hope the antibiotics do their job for H and she feels better soon. Poor love. Well done the paramedics for worrying about her knickers Grin

I don't know but I think that being really intelligent and unable to deal with it - not that toddlers deal well with much if they are tired Wink - emotionally is a really tough thing for a toddler. They are strong willed and stubborn and dealing with it all day every day is just hard!

I know it isn't forever but we need some skills to help us out NOW. He is such a sweet boy normally even all the "but, why Mummy" questions are driving me nuts and I want to be able to parent him with love IYSWIM.

halestone · 20/11/2015 15:24

It all makes perfect sense to me Nutella. How is Ds today is his cough better?

Frazzled how is J today?

H is still the same really and i got an emergency GP appointment for myself. I have a chest infection as well.

WLmum · 22/11/2015 20:50

Oh no hales. I really hope you have managed to test a bit and start to feel better soon.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/11/2015 03:26

I'm ill too will need to see the dr. Fever for a few days headache generally feeling crap high sugar levels. Last time I felt like this I had an ear infection.
