Evening Lovely ladies

Have not been around for absolute ages!! Have been trying to keep up with your posts from time to time though.

We are generally doing well in our household allthough the sleeping could be a lot better. Oscar still ahsn't slept through any nights and usually wakes up twice every night and practically allways does a poo at some point as well which is such a nuisance.
He luckily goes down really really well though. By ca 6.30 I put him in his cot, say goodnight and leave the room. He may cry for 1-2 mins but then he falls a sleep only to wake up when I go to bed at which time I will give him a quick feed. Will then usually wake up again at ca 2 and 5 - 5.30.
I am still BF fully. Would like for him to take the bottle every now and then but he will not suck on the damn thing I hope that if I keep trying then one day he will take it.

It sounds like we are all in the same boats when it comes to tiredness, discussions with DHs etc. I soo love this site for a bit of comfort that you are not on your own.

Some one was telling me the other day, that this stage is actually one of the hardest as the LO often gets a bit worse at night again and the accumulation of no sleep really begins to take it's toll. Also we probably get a bit less help and sympathy from family as after 5 months things are expected to be "back to normal" again - NOT!!

For all of it I still wouldn't change it for anything!!! I absolutely love my little boy and together with DD (nearly 5) and DH I just feel so truly blessed!!

Anyway enough for now. Will try and write more often.

Lots of hugs from
Dangirl

Hey all,

Not much to report here really.
Just did my first lot of Christmas shopping today. Oh my God I forgot how expensive it is. Normally I don't think about what I am spending because I've been earning and could afford it, but this year is proving to be difficult. I also went a bit mad and have spent pretty much all of the housekeeping money for the month. OOPS. I'm going to have to find some things to sell on Ebay.

Also, Abbey has just spent the last 30 minutes screaming as loud as she could, but I don't know why. I couldn't do anything to stop it or settle her. She has finally settled down and is now asleep in her cot sobbing.

Bienvenida ImpyChica. I think that's right??

I really feel for all of you ladies that are having DH/P nightmares at the mo. It's sooooo awful when you are having fall outs. I hate it. We are just coasting along at the moment with only a few little rows in between, so hopefully we will manage to steer it back on track somehow.

Re rolling. Abbey is defo going to be the last one to roll as she isn't a bit interested and has only ever done it once weeks ago by accident.

Right am off now, not much else to report.

Speak soon
Jeanie

TwinkleInSantasEye · 03/12/2006 22:38

Hello everyone. My brain is not functioning too well at the mo so having trouble remembering who has said what. But I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing problems with various DH's/DP's. Things have been better here recently, apart from this morning when I threw a bit of a "do I have to do everything for DS" wobbly. I have been politely asked to post a "retraction" of my previous complaints as we have resolved the issue.

IamBlossom · 04/12/2006 07:27

Morning.

How to get DS1 to stop waking at 5am, discuss. I have to go to bed at 9am about every third night to catch up on sleep.....

These Christmas names are great girls, but totally confused now about who is who???

Great weekend, very busy, people to stay with their kids, good fun.

DH back at work now, phew. Lovely having him around for the most part but a bit intense having three boys to manage....can get back to my own routine now, bliss. And my parents are back from their travels so have my babyminders back, hurrah.

LOVE whoever talked about benign neglect form of parenting. I am going to file that for future use

Had loads of other things to say but have to get DS1 to nursery, so back later.

Morning ladies

Just a quick one as i have loads and loads to do.My mum is coming to babysit for dd1 as i am xmas shopping today.

Have had a fabby weekend. After having such a great time on Friday i thought it couldn't get any better but......

I got all my farepak money back last night. My agent paid by visa so i am all excited this morning.

Anyhoo better go and get organised for my shopping trip lol.

Take care all

TwinkleInSantasEye · 04/12/2006 08:56

Agalch - that's brilliant news!! Enjoy your shopping (I've hardly even thought about mine yet - can't believe there are only three weeks to go!)

xmasstocking · 04/12/2006 09:19

Morning all - love the festive smileys!!

Agalch - what fantastic news - I am so pleased for you.

Not much to report here either - DH gone off till Thursday night now which is a probably a relief for both of us as we have bickered all weekend! He is on holiday on Friday so we are going to the Trafford Centre for a big day Christmas shopping - can't wait - silly man has booked his car in for a service though that day which means that we have to get 2 of us, Josh, his pram and all the shopping in my tiny car - maybe that was a clever ploy to stop me spending so much

Anyway, not got much planned today - might take Josh swimming this afternoon just for something to do (and a little exercise for me).

Still no news about work - I am waiting for them to tell me whether I have a job, if so, what job, if I need to be interviewed or if they will give me voluntary redundancy which is looking unlikely - wish they would get their skates on and put me out of my misery!

agalch - YAY

sleep has gone completely to pot here with Leo being unsettled for hours every night. I feed him, but when i put him back down he doesn't settle

Wallace · 04/12/2006 09:56

I meant

SleepIsForTheWeak · 04/12/2006 10:30

Agalch - that is brilliant!!!!!! what a relief

Another dodgy nights sleep again last night - yaaaaaawn.

Those of you whose AF has returned, what did it feel like? I have had what can only be described as a tingle in what I assume is my ovary (the left one) for a little over 2 days now, accompanied by the odd twinge. Do you think that is everything swinging back into action, as it were?

DH at home with man-flu, sleeping, so I am gonna go out for a loooooooooong walk

FrostytheShatteredSnowman · 04/12/2006 10:37

Morning ladies

How are we all today ? Oh, wow-Chrimbo emoticons!

Lovely to hear from you again dangirl-glad all is well. I am exclusively BF too and never want to stop. Going out on Friday for a works do so will have to leave my mum a bottle just incase-hope Sophie will take it. Just got to try and express some out-have 5 oz in the freezer so only need a tiny bit.

KZ-Sophie rolled from tummy to back and still does when she feels like it but DD1 was rolling back to front by now but then she was hyper then as she is now! Happy B'Day to your DS for Tuesday.

Forgot to say that I went into work with my friend for support and bravely told my manager I was having the full year off and only wanted to come back 10am to 2-30pm. She said 'what, every day?' er, no, just 2 days a week. She just Am so hoping they can't fit these hours in so I can go back on my Priority Returners Scheme and have a further 4 years and 2 months off. Did say that if I hit the poverty line I would be in touch before May which is more than likely ( no festive ). So, will have to wait and see what the future holds.

agalch-brill news about rotten Farepak-was telling my SIL about you and she said her friend got her money back due to paying by Credit Card. It is on TV tonight-all about how it crashed.

Wallace-sorry to hear Leo doesn't settle-it is so upsetting when they don't.

xmas-lucky you getting rid of DH-can't imagine how you will manage on Friday. Good Luck!

Had a full night's sleep on Saturday but then overdid it Sunday and was in bed at 8pm (possibly due to an overload of Mulled Wine ). Then Sophie woke at 5am, the cat was left in again by mistake and got up at 5-30am to be let out then DD1 woke us at 6am to say she wanted a wee! We have started leaving her potty in her room to try and encourage her to have a dry nappy in the morning-going to have to have a toilet talk again with her.

Anyway-off to do some more Christmas shopping so better go. Love to all.

Koshka1984 · 04/12/2006 11:04

hello!

So glad to hear about that Algagh (sorry i know ive spelt it wrong but am in a hurry!)

Need to go Xmas shopping, but after the bus fiasco I really cant be bothered! I can't walk home after being in town, as my hip still really hurtsd after being PG.

I could take him in the babycarrier thing but I wouldn't have any hands free.

I might go in today in the carrier, and put some money into my bank account with the switch card and do it online! But am worried about delivedry.

Jake rolled over, but while I was at work

At work they are horrible and I had a minibreakdown and was forced to tell them what had gone on while I was away on maternity. (she practially forced me)

I couldnt tell her about the abortion im too ashamed and I really regret it. I know i would not have been able to cope but i would have loved to have been pregnant again.

Well ive had my 2 minutes on the computer so i'd better go. bye x

maewestyemerrygentlemen · 04/12/2006 12:30

Morning all - sorry things are still rough for you Kosh. Do you have a mate you could go shopping with? Know how difficult things can be when you're struggling with buses, buggies and baby.

Algach that's great news about Farepak money, have thought about you every time it has been on the news.

DS was a bit unsettled last night, think he has a bit of a snuffle as he woke a few times, snacky feeds lots of wind, just wanted to be cuddled to sleep. Also AF is back, boo! And I'm still exclusively bf, grr. Better go, whingy bored noises from my poor neglected baby.

p.s. Good to hear from you again Dangirl.

kbaby · 04/12/2006 13:16

FrostytheShatteredSnowman- don?t worry we get those moments with DD aswell. In fact her favorite thing is to tell you the opposite of what you?ve asked ie ?put your shoes on please? ?I am not putting my shoes on? and my favorite one ?will you please behave? ? I am not being haved? I think all girls have a bit of attitude in them god help us when they reach 12

Im feeling sorry for myself as Ive got a cold, sore throat swollen glands and earache and to top it all ds woke every 2hrs again last night. Not for feeding but just comforting. On a good note though he has been asleep so far 2hrs not sure if hes not feeling too well because he normally manages 45 mins

Agalch ? big cheers for you

I left ds for 3 hrs yesterday with ebm for dh and he goes out and forgets it, so he got carton of formula and an old bottle from day before and rinsed it using boilt water and fed ds I hope ds is ok.

Thanks for all your compliments! I'm sure you all have beautiful babys (and kids) too. The pix I've seen on this thread have been gorgeous (PrettyMum's lo, Baby Sophie and I think XmasStocking's lo)

Wanted to say big hugs to Koshka - poor thing.

DanGirl - the bottle thing can take a while - I've been perservering with Ryan as he wasn't taking a bottle in the nursery initially but is now taking more and more each day.

Thanks for the bienvenida Jeanie - muy bien! ¿Hablas un poquito de castellano, eh?

And I have to say, without doubt, that Ryan will be the last to roll over - he's not even accidently done it once. Hardly ever rolls over onto his side - he's one lazy little monkey!

Hugs to you all. Impy xxx

LittleHarrysMum · 04/12/2006 15:58

Hello,

Got directed to this thread by Maewest (thankyou). Just scrape in as a July mum as DS came into world at 23:53 31st July! This is a lovely way to compare notes and realising sometimes I worry over absolutely nothing!! So hi all and hope you don't mind me crashing the thread

JeanieJingleBells · 04/12/2006 16:24

Hi girls,

Hola Impy-Si, hablo algun Castellano, pero no mucho porque no puedo recordar muchas palabras. Was that good?

kbaby-lol at your DD. I remember when my DD was going through that phase.

Frosty-Well done for braving your manager at work. I still haven't spoken to one person at my work and am dreading it soo much.

Agalch-I am so pleased that you got your money back. I've been worrying for you since you told us.

Going to start dinner now, so catch ya'll later.

Love

Jeanie

JeanieJingleBells · 04/12/2006 16:25

Hiya Little Harrys Mum and welcome.

dangirl · 04/12/2006 19:39

Hi there,

Oscar started rolling over properly today He has beed going on do his side for a long time and accidently turned over a few times before - but today he sussed it and just wouldn't stop again. He was soo obviously very proud of himself soo cute! [proud mummy emoticon]

ImpyChica: thank you for encouraging words re bottle feeding. Tried again today with EBM. Maybe sucked very little but hardly anything. What a waste of good milk Anyway as you say - I shall keep trying.

Have lovely evening and hopefully good nights all.
