Glad she had a sleep in the connecta PenguinPoser and you had a nice time.

Hope you got some sleep after all that Babiecakes11!!!!

We had a lovely day yesterday although a bit manic! Ended up at the beach in the afternoon with some food shopping and visit from my friend who's over from the states in the morning. The boys had great fun and climbed straight into bed when home and are still asleep now Shock. Been for a run and need to shower before mindees start arriving. Only got one littley and the rest older ones but it's supposed to rain from 10 onwards so I may be mad by the end of the day!

PenguinPoser · 24/07/2015 09:53

Babiecakes please call your GP CPN or the crisis team back if things are really bad Flowers really hope you've had some sleep.

Cinnamon sounds like you had a good day yesterday. Hope that the weather improves and you're not stuck inside all day today!

I'm going to meet a friend today for cupcakes. Hoping to make further use of the connecta!

Don't apologise, if it helps to get it out somewhere then do it, it's not a problem. Hope you manage to feel a bit more positive soon Flowers

cinnamongreyhound · 24/07/2015 18:04

I have found my baby on his back twice today, I left him on his front Sad I can see trouble ahead as he cant do it the other way and he just cries if he wants to sleep and is on his back!

Wineandchoccy · 24/07/2015 20:41

I haven't been on here for a few days as we have had a problem with our internet but I'm back now.

Hope you are ok babiecakes if talking helps please feel free to post here Flowers

cinnamon Eleanor rolled over for the 1st time this morning and screamed until I rescued her because she could not work out how to go back. I hope it doesn't cause Sam problems sleeping.

penguin I hope you enjoyed the cupcakes, yum!

I gave been shopping today for a christening gown my god they are expensive for a few hours wear I'm off to search eBay to see if I can find one cheaper. It's DHs weekend off so we are going for a walk tomorrow along the canal path and having a pub lunch in a pub that's recently opened.

cinnamongreyhound · 24/07/2015 22:00

I'm hoping in the short term the sleeping bag will help him stay put wineandchoccy! Have a lovely weekend, hope the weather is better where you are than its forecast here!

FiRaffe · 25/07/2015 06:46

Hope the rolling hasn't been a problem tonight cinnamon. DS can roll but he keeps trying to sick his fingers while he's at it and gets frustrated that his arm gets in the way. ... who said men couldn't multitask!!!

I was thinking about getting a christening gown made from my wedding dress but I don't know. .... it's not like i'm going to wear it again!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2015 10:23

It didn't thankfully FiRaffe! I still have my wedding dress, can't wear it again as its a size 18 and I'm an 8 but still don't want to get rid of it and mine wasn't a proper wedding dress so I could have worn it again. Having said that, you'd keep the christening gown so you'd still have part of it still there Smile

PenguinPoser · 25/07/2015 11:14

Oh what a lovely idea about the christening gowns! My dd is being christened in the gown I wore that my dad wore also when he was christened Smile just hope it fits her!!

Thankfully the weather forecast here has improved for the day which is good as most of our plans involve being outside!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend even though the weather is rubbish today. We are doing lots of odd jobs that we keep putting off and making a curry for tea.

Have you seen that a April 2016 antenatal thread has started I can't believe it's 12 months since we all started chatting Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 26/07/2015 10:30

It wasn't too bad here yesterday weather wise but is forecast to be bad here today. My eldest two had a party 9-2 yesterday so I was a bit lost! I'm struggling to enjoy anything the last few days just constantly stressing/feeling guilty etc about the hospital weds. Lots of tears here, I'm not coping very well at all and don't really know why. Planning to go out somewhere today as dss goes back to his mums today for two weeks.

PenguinPoser · 26/07/2015 11:54

Hugs cinnamon Flowers it's awful having the appointment hanging over you. I know it's easy for me to say but you don't need to feel guilty. You're doing the right thing for your lovely little boy and none of this was your fault. How are things with your DH? Hope you're getting some support.

I know wine this time last year we were all finding out we were pregnant! Crazy.

Its forecast to rain later this afternoon so we are heading out now to try and make the most of the sun.

FiRaffe · 26/07/2015 13:29

Oh cinnamon, sorry to hear you're worried about the hospital. It is understandable, but I know that doesn't make it any better.

It's freezing and rainy here today. DH is poorly so I admit to lazy parenting....DS is currently watching the grand prix with me. It's only the 2nd time he's ever watched TV and at least it's keeping him calm and relatively quiet. I'm shattered after being up with DH in the night.... just need a nice nap now!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/07/2015 17:41

Thank you both! We've been out in the pouring rain but it has brightened my spirits Smile I think perhaps because we've had some time away from the hospital I'm very nervous about him needing to be back there a lot as well as the procedure itself.

FiRaffe · 26/07/2015 19:08

The rain was horrid here today, glad you had a nice day cinnamon.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/07/2015 21:17

And yes, dh is much better. We haven't had any arguments at all since our late night talk last weekend. Thankfully!

FiRaffe · 27/07/2015 05:16

Glad to hear that cinnamon.

Having a rough night here....... so bad i've given calpol to try and get us both some sleep. Still no floppy arms though!

Hope you're all having a better night!

PenguinPoser · 27/07/2015 05:27

Pleased that things are better in that respect cinnamon. I would be nervous too about hospital it's so awful seeing our babies suffer. I know it's not the same at all but I feel really mean for getting dd the extra meningitis vaccines as its needles and she cries and it breaks my heart... But it's for the greater good. Couldn't imagine what you're going through as at least I have a choice and you haven't chosen to go through any of this.

Fi I really hope you get some sleep! Hope the calpol helps. It's so hard to know what's wrong with them and what to do for the best isn't it.
Tonight is a bit better for us so far (she says at 5.23am Confused ) but an unofficial experiment this weekend tells me that dd sleeps better if she goes to bed earlier. Friday and Saturday we had busy evenings and she was late to bed as a result (10-11pm) and woke by 3am both times. Last night she was down by 8.30-9 and has slept until 4.45. Still hope she gets another couple of hours. I can just hear the rain outside it sounds horrible but good white noise! Typical as DH is off this week the weather forecast is awful all week Hmm oh well.

We start looking at nurseries today!

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 27/07/2015 10:02

Sorry it was a tough night FiRaffe, may have been the weather? We had loads of rain and ds2 was up twice too.

It's all of it PenguinPoser, knowing I can't feed him past 6.30 is worrying me, sometime he'll go several hours and sometimes it's much less and they won't sedate him until 9.30. But they will put the cannula in before he's sedated and i can't feed him to comfort him. Hoping they can get the cannula in his right hand so he can at least still suck his thumb as that works quite well for settling these days. Then I'm worried how I'll cope seeing him knocked out and how he'll be coming round and then how long they'll keep us in. If his feeding and sleeping will be ok afterward which they've assured me it will and of course of the results mean that he will need surgery. So wish these two days will zip by and I can sleep better than I have been.
Early bedtime leading to better nights makes sense to me and good luck with your nursery search.

Wineandchoccy · 27/07/2015 11:04

I hope the next few days go quickly for you cinnamon and Sam is ok on Wednesday. He certainly has had a tough start in life with all the hospital visits but he sounds a tough little man with an amazing Mummy so I know he will be just fine Flowers

Sorry you had a rubbish night firaffe I hope you both managed some sleep after the calpol.

Good luck searching for nurseries penguin are you just turning up or have you booked appointments? Im taking the full 12 months off but I think I should start looking in case they are all full.

I feel awful I cut DD's thumb when I was cutting her fingernails she howled Sad

FiRaffe · 27/07/2015 11:18

Thankfully the calpol got us through to 8.30. He had a big poo and seems happier now!!!

Oh no Wine. At least they won't remember!

PenguinPoser · 28/07/2015 03:52

Wow Fi I dream of a day where dd would sleep until 8:30! Pleased it worked.
Ah no wineandchoccy hope her thumb is ok! I bet after the initial shock of it you were probably more upset than her.
We have booked appointments at the nurseries. However I think it was a good start that the one we went to yesterday said to pop back anytime. I was quite impressed with it and it was recommended by someone I know who has had both of their children there. Going to see another one this morning then a third on Thursday before we make our minds up though.

Cinnamon Flowers I can totally understand your worries. I hope it's over really quickly for you and ds3 - and that it doesn't show a need for surgery.

I'm kinda tired of seeing 3/4am every night Sad I know it isn't as bad as some but considering she used to sleep through this time without a feed I don't know how long it's going to go on for having to feed her at this time. We are working on self settling at bedtime rather than feeding to sleep all the time and last night I fed put down awake then when she cried dh came and managed to settle her so that was good. Wonder if we keep at it it will ultimately help. I wouldn't mind if I knew she would sleep for another few hours after the feed but she never seems to settle properly again. Maybe tomorrow night I'll leave a bottle for dh and see if I can get some more sleep... I currently have visions of seeing 3am every day for ever and ever!
